Robust Remote User Authentication Schemeusing Smart Cards

Two user authentication schemes were recently proposed using smart cards. They do not need to maintain a verification table in registration server, which is one of the good and necessary aspect in the password based schemes. In this paper, we show that they are not secure against some attacks. Then we propose a robust remote user authentication scheme to withstand the flaws in them but preserve the same merits of them. Our scheme could be efficiently used in wireless communication applications.

Modified Authenticated Key Exchange Protocol for SIP using ECC

The authentication procedure in session initiation protocol (SIP), an IETF standard protocol for initiating an interactive user session, typically uses HTTP digest authentication, which is vulnerable to many known attacks. To cope with the problems, Wu et al. proposed a new authenticated key exchange (NAKE) protocol for SIP based on the Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem. However, this paper shows that the NAKE is insecure against the off-line password guessing attack and proposes a modified authenticated key exchange (MAKE) protocol for SIP. The MAKE fits neatly in the SIP protocols as described in RFC 3261.

Desynchronization Attackon Hash-based RFID Mutual Authentication Protocol

A radio frequency identification (RFID) system is a promising automatic identification technology that uses communication via radio waves to identify and track moving objects. Privacy and security concerns inhibit the fast adaption of RFID technology for many applications. Although many EPCgen2 compliant protocols have been proposed in a quest to ensure security of low cost tags, still more the optimum security is not achieved as many protocols are found prone to well-known attacks. Recently, Cho et al. proposed a hash-based RFID mutual authentication protocol and the protocol is secure. However, this paper shows that Cho et al.’s protocol is weak against desynchronization attack and provides remedy for it.

전후 일본의 동아시아공동체 구상의 전개와 인식의 변용

2009年に鳩山政権が登場した以来、アジア諸国では日本の東アジア共同体への期待が高まりつつあるものの、東アジア共同体をめぐる日本での議論はそれほど新しい概念とは言えない。そこで、本稿は戦後日本で議論されてきた東アジア共同体構想の展開とともに国家間関係と交流メカニズムに対する認識がどのように変容してきているのかを考察した。その結果は次のようにまとめることができる。 第一に、国家関係においては、1990年代半ばごろまでの日本はアジア太平洋という地域コンセプトに基づき、競争の観点からアプローチした。それ以来、アジア太平洋からアジアへの回帰が東アジア共同体にアプローチする認識の基盤となってきた。学術レベルでの議論は、その方向性の変化に論理の基礎を提供した。その認識の転換を言い換えれば、日本の東アジア共同体構想は、19世紀後半の‘脫亞入歐’から‘脫歐入亞’へと再構築される過度期の中で変容してきたといえる。 第二に、共同体での交流メカニズムに対する認識は、1960年代と1970年代は国益に焦点を当てることによって経済分野に限定した共同体論が主流であった。しかし、国益からの切り放すことによって思想や社会・文化分野での交流拡大へとその論点が広げられてきた。共同体として連帯感という課題が先決の問題であるという認識の転換が反映したものである。 以上の2点は、戦後日本の東アジア共同体の展開過程においては、国家間関係からみた地域カテゴリは限定されつつあったのに対し、交流メカニズムはソフトな分野にまで拡大してきたとの特徴の現れであるといえる。

백서(白書)에 나타난 일본의 대(対)아시아 통상정책과 해외직접투자

本稿は、日本の通商政策においてアジアというエリアがどのように位置づけられているか、そしてその位置づけがどのように変わってきたかを、関連する白書の内容検討を通して分析を行った。なお通商政策は自国企業の海外活動の展開を反映する側面があることに着目し、日本企業の海外直接投資の展開過程に現れる特徴を明らかにし、両者の相関関係についての分析を試みた。その結果は以下のようにまとめることができる。第一に、白書に現れたエリア認識をみると、2000年代初頭を境に日本の通商政策はアジアという空間を重視しはじめた。第二に、通商政策の対象としてのアジアの位置づけは、従来の生産機能だけを念頭においた国際分業での役割に重点が置かれたのに対し、市場としてのアジアとそのエリアにおける企業間の国際ネットワーク関係を重視しはじめた。第三に、これらの変化の根底にある要因を探ってみた結果、すでに1990年代半ばからアジア向け海外直接投資が市場志向型に転換しはじめたことが明らかになった。その根拠は、海外進出の日系企業の現地法人での輸出比率の低下と円ドル為替レートとの連関関係の低下という側面から探ることができる。すなわち日本の對アジア通商政策におけるアジアというエリアを市場としての役割により注目したことは、日本企業の海外直接投資の志向型の転換を反映したものだったといえるのである。

인지무선네트워크를 위한 회전자 기반 적응형 보안프레임워크 설계

최근 들어 IT 분야에 하나나 그 이상의 기술들이 하나의 장치에 결합되는 융합이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히, 기학급수적으로 증가하는 방송 및 통신 시스템으로 인해 무선 주파수 자원의 고갈 문제가 심각하게 대두되고 있다. 이와 같은 주파수 고갈과 비효율적인 주파수 사용 문제를 해결하기 위해 유휴 주파수를 합리적으로 이용하기 위한 융합기술인 인지무선 기술이 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 하지만 융합을 통해 개별적으로 제공되던 기존 서비스에 새로 개발된 기술들이 결합됨으로서 기존에는 존재하지 않았던 새로운 보안 문제들을 야기할 수 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 통신 융합응용 기술로서 인지무선네트워크를 위한 회전자 기반 적응형 보안프레임워크를 제안한다. 제안한 적응형 보안프레임워크는 위치정보에 기반한 회전자를 프라이버시 및 다양한 보안을 제공하기 위한 보안 기법들에 필요한 공유키 설정을 위한 기초로 이용한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 적응형 보안프레임워크는 인지무선네트워크 표준들을 포함한 다양한 융합응용의 보안 기반 구조로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. Convergence is increasingly prevalent in the IT world which generally refers to the combination of two or more different technologies in a single device. Especially, the spectrum scarcity is becoming a big issue because there are exponential growth of broadcasting and communication systems in the spectrum demand. Cognitive radio (CR) is a convergence technology that is envisaged to solve the problems in wireless networks resulting from the limited available spectrum and the inefficiency in the spectrum usage by exploiting the existing wireless spectrum opportunistically. However, the very process of convergence is likely to expose significant security issues due to the merging of what have been separate services and technologies and also as a result of the introduction of new technologies. The main purpose of this research is focused on devising an adaptive security framework based on carousel for CR networks as a distinct telecommunication convergence application, which are still at the stage of being developed and standardized with the lack of security concerns. The framework uses a secure credential, named as carousel, initialized with the location related information from objects position, which is used to design security mechanisms for supporting privacy and various securities based on it. The proposed adaptive security framework could be used as a security building block for the CR network standards and various convergence applications.

내시경 점막하 박리술로 치료한 위의 염증성 섬유양 용종

Inflammatory fibroid polyp (IFP) is a rare benign fibroproliferative disease that arises from the submucosal layer of the gastrointestinal tract. Surgical resection has been performed in most cases and the application of endoscopic resection is rare. Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), which was recently introduced, enables en-bloc resection of a tumor regardless of the tumor size and location. Since IFP is benign, ESD can be very useful for both the diagnosis and treatment of a large-sized IFP. A 45-year-old woman was referred for the management of a gastric mass. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy showed a round submucosal mass with a central bulging at the gastric body. Endoscopic ultrasonography showed a 3.5×3.0 cm-sized hypoechoic mass in the third layer of the stomach. The tumor was removed by ESD with using a hook knife for complete en-bloc resection. The pathologic finding was compatible with the diagnosis of IFP. We report here on a case of IFP that presented as a gastric submucosal tumor and it was treated by the ESD method. 염증성 섬유양 용종은 위장관의 점막하층에 발생하는 드문 양성 섬유증식성 질환이다. 내시경 및 내시경 초음파에서 특징적인 소견이 없어 대부분 완전절제 후 병리학적으로 진단된다. 치료는 주로 외과적 수술이 시행되고 있으며, 최근에는 내시경 절제술로 진단되는 경우가 증가하고 있으나 아직 크기가 작거나 유경성인 경우에만 제한적으로 이루어지고 있다. 최근 도입된 내시경 점막하 박리술은 크기 및 위치와 상관없이 일괄절제를 가능하게 하는 장점이 있어, 본 질환과 같이 내시경을 통한 조직검사나 내시경 초음파만으로 절제 전 양성과 악성의 감별이 어려운 경우에 있어 불필요한 외과 치료를 피하고 내시경으로 제거하는데 유용할 것으로 생각한다. 저자들은 위의 점막하 종양을 주소로 전원된 45세 여자에서 내시경 조직검사 및 내시경 초음파를 시행하였으나 진단되지 않아 내시경 점막하 박리술을 시행한 후 염증성 섬유양 용종으로 진단한 1예를 경험하여 이에 대한 이해를 넓히고자 문헌고찰과 함께 보고한다.
