The correlation between obesity and the serum insulin level were studied in 10 healthy adults, 18 non-diabetic patients without edema and 25 diabetic patients. Among all 53 cases, there were 19 cases of obesity by Suh's criteria of Korean ideal body weigh (more than 20% of ideal weight). The serum insulin and blood glucose at fasting and dureing 100g oral glucose tolerance test were measured. Serum insulin was measured by method of Solid phase125 Radioimmunoassay (Coat-A-Count Tnsulin Kit)- The results were as follows: 1. Inhealthy adult, the level of fasting serum insulin was average 3.1μU/ml in on-obese, 16.5 μU/ml in obese adults, The insulin level in 30 minutes after GTT, was 45.8 μU/ml in non-obese and 145.5 μU/ml in obese adults. These data showed that hyperinsulinemia occurs in non-diabetic obesity either in fasting or after the glucose loading. 2. In nondiabetic patients without edema, the serum insulin level were average 20.3μU/ml in fasting, 61.4 μU/ml after 30 minutes, 100.7 μU/ml after 60 minutes, 118,7 μU/ml after 120 minutes and 52.8 μU/ml after 180 minutes in non-obese patients. In obese patients, the serum insulin level were average 30.9 μU/ml, 109.0 μU/ml after 30 minutes, 119.3 μU/ml after 60 minutes, 146.3 μU/ml after 120 minutes and 82.5 μU/ml after 180 minutes. These data showed the serum insulin level increased clearly but delayed than normal adult in obses patients. 3. The correlation between obesity index (body wt/ideal body wt) and fasting serum insulin. level were studied. The coefficient of correlation was 0.88 in healthy adults and 0.96 in non-obese patients. These data showed that serum insulin level is not only related to obesity but also body weight. 4. In diabetic patients, the fasting serum insulin level was as same as non-diabetic healthy adult or patient. There was no difference of serum insulin between obses and non-obese diabetic patients. It appeared slightly higher increase of serum insulin by GTT in obses than non-obses diabetic patients but there was no statistical significance in the difference. There was no correlation between serum insulin level and obesity index (coefficient of correlation 0.3) in diabetic patients.

Dermatomyositis is a disorder of unknown etiology characterized by an inflammatory myopathy involving striated skeletal muscle and associated characteristic skin lesions. The relationship between dermatomyositis and malignant tumor remains controversial, but we must be concerned about evaluation of suspected malignancy in a patient with dermatomyositis. We present a case of dermatomyositis associated with lung cancer. A 51-yearold male has suffered proximal muscle weakness and facial erythema for 2 months. Pathologic results showed adenocarcinoma and pneumonectomy of the left lung was performed. Myositis resolved completely after removing the malignant mass. Few cases of malignant tumors associated with dermatomyositis were reported in Korea, but dermatomyositis associated with non-small cell lung cancer and complete remission of myositis after the tumor resection has not been reported previously.
벽과 분무사이의 유동에 대한 저 Reynolds 난류모델의 비교평가

소형 디젤엔진의 발달에 벽과 분무액적과의 상호작용은 공기와 분사연료의 혼합뿐 아니라 연소에 큰 영향을 끼쳐왔다. 본 논문에서는 벽 부근에서 난류가 액적 거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해서 Yoshizawa의 비등방성 난류 모델과 Reynolds에 의해서 제안된 수정 k-ε 모델을 사용하였다. 또한 Fujimoto등에 의해서 측정된 실험값과 계산된 결과를 비교하였다. 비교 결과 다른 수정 k-ε모델보다 Yoshzawa의 모델이 실험값과 가장 잘 일치하였다. The spray/wall interaction is considered as one of the most important phenomena influencing air-fuel mixing and combustion in the development of compact diesel engine. In this paper we used the Yoshizawa's anisotropic turbulence model and the κ-εmodel modified by Reynolds in order to analyze the effect of turbulence on the drops behavior in the near-wall region and the calculated results are compared with the experimental data of Fujimoto et. al. It can be concluded that the calculated results by Yoshizawa's model rather than those of the modified κ-εmodel agree well the experimental data

A numerical analysis has been performed solidification problem using the fixed grid-enthalpy method with enthalpy-porosity relation. A modified standard $k-\varepsilon$ model was applied to describe the influence of turbulent flow. Computational procedures are based on the finite volume method and the non-staggered grid system. Comparisons with the different three experimental results show that applying a modified standard $k-\varepsilon$model in mushyzone is better than the previous computation results. This paper includes another EMBR's influences such as change of velocity field, Increasement of temperature and dispersion of flow out of nozzle into the flow field. These EMBR's influences are compared to case without EMBR.

A 45-year-old man presented with muscle pain, skin nodules and persistent hypereosinophilia over a period of 4 months. Laboratory data excluded the diagnosis of trichinosis or any other parasite infection. The patient's course of the disease over the 9 months was compatible with idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome. In a muscle biopsy, eosinophilic and lymphoplasma cells are predominantly infiltrated. Authors report a case of rhabdomyolysis due to eosinophilic polymyositis in idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome.
