인간형 재조합단백질 각질세포 성장인자를 안정적으로 생산하는 누에 배양 세포(Bm5-hKGF cell)을 만들었다, 이 세포에서 분비되어 배지에 포함된 양은 15-20 ng/㎖ 정도였다. Bm5-hKGF cell에 누에의 PDI를 함께 발현시키면 세포외 분비량이 2배 증가하였다. Wound healing migration assay 결과 누에세포에서 생산된 인간형 재조합단백질 각질세포 성장인자는 세포생장을 촉진하는 활성을 가지고 있었다. 본 실험의 결과는 누에배양세포를 사용하여 저비용으로 양질의 인간형 재조합단백질을 대량생산 할 수 있는 것을 기대한다. Using silkworm Bombyx mori Bm5 cells, we established a stable cell line expressing the human keratinocyte growth factor (hKGF), named by the Bm5-hKGF cell, in which the protein hKGF is synthesized in the cell and secreted in the cell culture supernatant (CCS) at approximately 15-20 ng/㎖. When the Bm5-hKGF cell was co-expressed with B. mori protein disulfide isomerase (bPDI) cDNA, its secretion increased by about two times the original amount. Through wound healing migration assay, it was demonstrated that the secreted hKGF included in the CCS has a very powerful biological activity of keratinocyte proliferation. We expect to produce useful human recombinant proteins from silkworm cultured cells in large quantities at low prices.

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a multifunctional intercellular organelle in which several posttranslational modification steps occurred such as protein folding, lipid biosynthesis, calcium storage and release. Perturbations that disrupt ER homeostasis lead to the misfolding of proteins in the ER lumen and up-regulation of ER signaling pathway called the unfolded protein response (UPR). Here, we have demonstrated that ageing changes the expression of ER chaperone and associated ER membrane kinases of IRE1, ATF6 and PERK.

Synergic effect of graphite nanoparticle(GN) and sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS) on the kinetics of CO2 hydrate formation were systematically investigated at 277.15 K and 3.5 MPa by measuring the surface tensions, CO2 consumption, storage capacity, hydrate formation rate, ratio of water converting to hydrate and induction time. The experimental results indicated that SDBS concentration change led to the dramatic change of the kinetics characteristics of hydrate formation. Relative to the pure water system, the gas consumption, hydrate storage, hydrate formation rate and ratio of water converting to hydrate were increased by 86.4%, 35.8%, 85.1% and 20% in the presence of GN(0.4%) + SDBS(0.04%), respectively.

급성 췌장염은 사망에 이를 수 있는 질환으로, 발병 초기 2주내 기관부전으로 인한 사망과 이후 몇 주 혹은 몇 달 후 기관부전과 국소 합병증의 문제로 사망하는 두 개의 국면을 보인다. 중증 급성 췌장염을 예측하기 위한 다양한 임상 평가 및 다원적 평가 척도, 영상 검사 및 분자 혈청 검사가 있으나, 현재가장 우월하게 급성 췌장염의 중증도를 예측하는 척도와 검사가 없고, 사망의 시기를 구분하지 않는 경우가 대부분으로 향후 대규모 연구를 통해 사망의 시기 및 예후를 예측하는 평가척도의 개발이 필요하다. Acute pancreatitis has two mortality peaks, which occurs within the first 2 weeks due to organ failure and then weeks or months later as result of multi-organ failure and local complications. Although there have been several clinical and multidisciplinary evaluation measures, imaging tests, and serological tests proposed to forecast severe acute pancreatitis, there is still no single test available to reliably predict the disease severity and time of death. Future large-scale studies are required to develop an assessment scale that can accurately predict the prognosis and mortality risk of severe acute pancreatitis. Intelligent human-robot interface helps a mobile robot to extract external information and interact with a user. User identification information allows a robot to generate appropriate behaviors and make personalized human-robot interaction (PHRI) more natural and safe. Most of service robots move around in various application settings, and biometric features always change during relative movements. In this work, a fusion recognition system based on face and speaker classifiers is designed to achieve the user recognition in various environments. We propose a method to fuse face and speech recognition results based on the concept of confidence indices. Through the derived confidence indices, the system combines the two classifiers and gives improved recognition results. Experiments on a laboratory home service robot show that person recognition rates in 15 environmental situations all outperform those of using single modality.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of liver transplantation (LT) and liver resection (LR) for hepatocellularcarcinoma (HCC) patients with portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT) and to investigate risk factors affecting prognosis. Materials and Methods: A total of 94 HCC patients with PVTT type I (segmental PVTT) and PVTT type II (lobar PVTT) were involvedand divided into LR (n=47) and LT groups (n=47). Recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) were comparedbefore and after inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW). Prognostic factors for RFS and OS were explored. Results: Two treatment groups were well-balanced using IPTW. In the entire cohort, LT provided a better prognosis than LR. Among patients with PVTT type I, RFS was better with LT (p=0.039); OS was not different significantly between LT and LR(p=0.093). In subgroup analysis of PVTT type I patients with α-fetoprotein (AFP) levels >200 ng/mL, LT elicited significantly longermedian RFS (18.0 months vs. 2.1 months, p=0.022) and relatively longer median OS time (23.6 months vs. 9.8 months, p=0.065). Among patients with PVTT type II, no significant differences in RFS and OS were found between LT and LR (p=0.115 and 0.335,respectively). Multivariate analyses showed treatment allocation (LR), tumor size (>5 cm), AFP and aspartate aminotransferase(AST) levels to be risk factors of RFS and treatment allocation (LR), AFP and AST as risk factors for OS. Conclusion: LT appeared to afford a better prognosis for HCC with PVTT type I than LR, especially in patients with AFP levels>200 ng/mL.

3D metal printing(AM) technology is the production technology to create metal products in way that the melted metal deposit from 3D CAD model data directly. Recently, research of AM techniques is active. AM techniques are divided into powder-based AM and wire-based AM. Wire-based AM is good for AM products of large-scale with a high speed deposition, inexpensive material. When TIG welding which is one of wire-based AM is applied, TIG welding AM is possible to control respectively the speed of the filler wire and arc intensity. Also, TIG welding AM has the advantages of wire-based AM and of clean environment. This study was carried out to establish the bead shape and dominant parameter that are suitable for build-up. STS316L and Albronze(CuAl-A2) were built up using conventional TIG and the Super_TIG welding in order to apply to the AM. The heat input as build-up should be increased for getting a uniform bead shape, because Albronze has high thermal conductivity. The heat input for STS316L as build-up should be reduced in order to get a uniform bead shape, because it has thermal barrier effect due to low thermal conductivity. Applying the Super_TIG welding, the productivity was about 3times of conventional TIG welding. The uniform wall thickness and good appearance could be obtained even if STS316L and Albronze were built alternately.
