        Malignant histiocytosis, originally described in 1939 as histiocytic medullary reticulosis by Scott and Robb-Smith, is a rare histiocytic proliferative disorder that often shows an acute onset and used to progress to death within a few months. This disorder characterized clinically by fever, generalized weakness, lymphadenopathy and hepatosplenomegaly, and shows a variable range of pancytopenia. Extranodal involvement is common, with an incidence ranging from 50% to as high as 90%, skin involves8ment was noted in 10% to 15%. Typical skin lesions were mainly founded in extremity. i.e. erythematous papule and nodule occasionally become to necrosis and ulceration. We experienced one case of malignant histiocytosis in a 46-years-old female. The major clinical findings are fever, malaise, hepatosplenomegaly and erythematous skin lesion. In the laboratory study, pancytopenia is noted on the peripheral blood. And also aggregation of many atypical histiocytes were shown on skin and bone marrow biopsy. So we reported one related case with malignant histiocytosis as well as reviewing literature .

        Hepatocellular carcinoma frequently metastasizes through direct extension, lymphatic, and hematogenous routes. The most common sites of metastasis are the lungs and the lymph nodes, glands, bones, spleen, kidneys, colon, and pleura are the sites of metastasis in decreasing order of frequency. But metastasis to the ovary is very rare. It is thought that metastasize to the ovary occurs through infiltration or dissemination. However, we observed ovarian metastasis of primary hepatic tumor in a 34-year old female who suffered from lower abdominal pain. At first, it was diagnosed as a primary ovarian tumor. But histologically, it presented sinusoidal pattern surrounded by the tumor cells and contained rounded by the tumor cells and contained round hyaline globules in minority of the cytoplasm. Then, the histologic features of percutaneous, sono-guided liver biopsy speecimen of the liver mass are similar to those of resected ovarian tissues. Therefore, we concluded that ovarian tumor was originated from hepatocellular carcinoma. In summary, this report examines a case of hepatocellular carcinoma with ovarian metastasis in a female and reviews the literature.

        Uzbekistan 공화국의 농업현황

        1. Uzbekistan은 전통적인 농업국가로서 농업이 경제의 축이며 농촌인구가 60%,농업부문 종사자가 전 산업에서 차지하는 비율이 44%이고 농업생산이 GNP에서 차지하는 비중이 33%로서 비교적 높은 편이다. 2. 이 나라의 농업은 강우량이 적고 건조한 기후조건 때문에 주로 관개에 의존하고 있으며 안공수로와 저수지의 건설로 관개가능 면적은 430만㏊ 이고 충분한 수량만 확보된다면 700만㏊ 까지 경작이 가능하다. 농업생산은 목화, 밀, 벼, 포도, 채소, 멜론재배가 주종을 이루고 있으며 특히 일조시수가 3,000시간으로 매우 길고 일사량도 많아 목화, 고품질의 포도와 멜론 생산이 유명하다. 3. 축산업도 농업에서 중요한 부문으로 주로 유목에 의존하고 있으며 염소, 고기소, 젖소, 면양이 주된 가축이고 양잠업도 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 4. Uzbekistan은 맥류, 목화, 포도, 사과, 양파 등의 원산지 일 뿐만 아니라 박과 작물의 2차원산지로서 유전적 다양성이 풍부하고 특히 멜론은 많은 재래종 품종들이 분화되어 재배되고 있다. 5. Uzbekistan는 1995년 한·우즈벡 농업기술협력 가능성 조사 이후 1996년부터 양국간 유전자원 공동연구가 활발히 추진되고 있다 금후 인근 중앙아시아 각국과의 유전자원 또는 농업관련 공동연구를 수행함에 있어 우즈베키스탄을 전진기지로 활용하는 방안이 적극 모색되어야 할 것으로 사료된다. The Republic of Uzbekistan is located in the central part of the middle Asia. The area of the Republic makes up 447.4 thousands ㎢ and about 60% of the country is semi-desert or desert with only 4.5 million hectares of the area cropped. The average temperature in July on the plains' territory varies from 26℃ in the North to 30℃ in the South, and the average temperature in January falls to as low as 0℃ in the South and to -8℃ in the North. Precipitation primarily occurs during the winter-spring period. Annual precipitation amounts to 80-200 ㎜ on the plains, 300-400 ㎜ in the foothills area and 600-800 ㎜ on the eastern and south-eastern slopes of the mountain ridges. Natural pastures occupy 50.1% of the total area of Uzbekistan, and 9.7%(4.3 Min. ha) of irrigated lands. Irrigated land is mainly cultivated for cotton, spiked cereals, rice and potato. Cotton plants occupy 36.5% of the cultivated areas and grain crops 39.5%. Given the abundance of solar radiation and heat, the major factor limiting the use of agroclimatic and land resources is a deficit of water. Agriculture in Uzbekistan was and still is the largest sector in Uzbekistan's economy. Agriculture and it's related industries account for approximately 33% of GDP, and 55% of the hard currency revenues of the country is related to Agriculture. Approximately 60% of the population resides in rural areas, and 44% of the work force is engaged in agricultural production. Uzbekistan is the world's fifth largest cotton producer and the second largest exporter. Cotton has been center to the economy because it accounts for about 50% of the country's export earnings. At the same time, however, cotton production has depended on vast amounts of irrigation, and this has had a possibly significant irreversible negative impact on the Aral Sea. The development strategy in the agricultural sector in the country is targeted at ensuring food and environmental security, while increasing the efficiency and export-potential of domestic production. According to the macroeconomic forecast, the agrarian sector will maintain its leading role in the economy (at 25% of GDP). To meet the strategic development goals by 2010, annual growth in agricultural output must be at least 5-6%.

        As multimedia application services on high-speed information network have been rapidly developed, the need for the video information management system that provides and efficient way for users to retrieve video data is growing. In this paper, we propose a video data model that integrates free annotations, image features, and spatial-temporal features for the purpose of improving content-based retrieval of video data. The proposed video data model can act as a generic video data model for multimedia applications, and support free annotations, image features, spatial-temporal features, and structure information of video data within the same framework. We also propose the video query language for efficiently providing query specification to access video clips in the video data. It can formalize various kinds of queries based on the video contents. Finally we design and implement the query processing engine for efficient video data retrieval on the proposed metadata model and the proposed video query language.

        전통시장 현대화 과정의 정책 네트워크 분석 - 자갈치시장과 노량진수산시장 비교분석을 중심으로 -

        The remodeling projects of traditional markets in Korea have usually involved in multi-stakeholders with multi-interests. They often face serious public disputes that are not easy to resolve. This paper pays attentions to two similar but different cases of traditional market remodeling projects : Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market at Seoul and Jagalchi Market at Pusan. The former case has been progressing but the latter case has already been done. Although they differ in several features, especially management structures, they can be similar in size and business conditions and structures. This paper tries to analyze the differences from the two remodeling projects and find conflict resolutions for coming market remodeling projects. This paper utilizes the policy network approach to compare the two remodeling projects and analyze interests of stakeholders, interactions, and their relation structures, respectively. This paper also scrutinizes the remodeling processes of the two traditional markets to search for the aspects of the policy network approach. While Jagalchi Market at Pusan could be evaluated as a successful projects, Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market at Seoul may not be successful. This paper finds major differences in the structure of interactions among stakeholders of the two remodeling projects. The Noryangjin projects could not be successful in building collaborative governance through participation, communication, and consensus. This paper suggests that a remodeling project first designs not only a remodeling process but also a consensus building process.

        RAW 264.7 대식세포와 염증유도 동물모델에서 산겨릅나무 추출물의 항산화 및 항염증 효과

        산겨릅나무 80°C 열수 및 95% 에탄올 추출물을 제조하여 항산화 및 항염증 효과를 확인한 결과 추출물은 우수한 항산화 효과를 나타내었고 RAW 264.7 세포에서도 항염증 효과를 보였으며, 그중 95% 에탄올 추출물의 효능이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 효능이 더 뛰어난 산겨릅나무 에탄올 추출물을 이용하여 in vivo 실험에서 추출물의 세포 보호효과 및 항염증 효능을 재확인하였다. ICR mouse에 일주일간 100 mg/kg B.W 산겨릅나무 에탄올 추출물을 경구투여 한 후 LPS를 처리하여 염증반응 및 산화적 스트레스를 유도시켜 Comet assay, serum tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α와 interferon-γ, 장점막세포에서의 TNF-α와 interleukin-6에 대한 생성능을 측정한 결과 산겨릅나무 에탄올 추출물은 DNA 손상을 억제하였으며 사이토카인 생성을 유의적으로 억제하여 항산화와 항염증 효과를 보였다. 따라서 본 연구에서 사용한 산겨릅나무의 에탄올 추출물은 산화적 스트레스 및 염증을 억제하는 효과를 나타내는 세포보호 기능적 소재로서 가능성이 있는 것으로 생각한다. Acer tegmentosum Maxim (ATM) is known as traditional medicine for treatment of hepatic disorders such as hepatitis, related-inflammatory disease, and hepatic cancer. In this study, we evaluated the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of ATM extracted with 80°C water or 95% ethanol. Antioxidant activities of ATM extracts were measured based on DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities, total polyphenolic compound contents, and ferric reducing antioxidant power. The anti-inflammatory effects of ATM extract were assayed on release of nitric oxide, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, and interferon (IFN)-γ from lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced macrophages. In these experiments, 95% ethanol extract of ATM showed stronger antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects than water extract. Therefore, we determined the effects of ATM ethanol extract on an animal model of sepsis. Seven days oral gavage of ATM ethanol extract followed by LPS stimulation reduced the protein levels of TNF-α and IFN-γ in serum as well as RNA levels of TNF-α and interleukin-6 in intestinal epithelial cells. In addition, ATM ethanol extract reduced DNA damage in mouse lymphocytes. These results indicate that ATM extract has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory in vitro and in vivo effects and may be developed as a potential food material for prevention of inflammatory diseases.

      • 아토피피부염 통합치료 프로그램에서의 심리적 개입의 실제

        Background: Psychological interventions have potentials for improving disease management and quality of life in children with atopic dermatitis (AD) and their families. However, integration of medical and psychological health care in the treatment of children with AD is very rare in Korea. Objective: The aim of this study was to present descriptive data from a hospital-based interdisciplinary program that provides integrated medical and psychological health-care for children with AD. Method: Clinical records were reviewed for 127 children seen in our program as well as common problems and interventions addressed during family visits with the program psychologist. Age group differences in problems and interventions addressed during psychology sessions were evaluated. Also, the differences by symptom severity and sex in problems addressed during psychology sessions were analyzed. Result: Significant age-group differences were found in the problems and interventions addressed during psychology sessions. Among the age groups, sleep problems were most common in the <5 age group (50.0%). Negative self-image, problems of being bullied and attention problems were most common in the 6~12 age group (25.4%, 23.7% and 16.9%, respectively). Anxious/depressed mood, study burden and parent-child relational problems were most common in the 13~18 age group (65.0%, 60.0% and 45.0% respectively). Conclusion: The results of this study support the need for and feasibility of providing integrated care for children with AD and their families. Age-group differences found in problems and interventions addressed during psychology sessions could be useful especially in planning for group sessions.       • Effectiveness of the Educational Program in Atopy Camp

        Atopic Dermatitis is a complicate disease that accompanies other allergic sicknesses and requires long-term treatment. Therefore, development of an educational program that focuses on management of the disease is needed. This research attempted to enhance the educational effects on patients with atopic dermatitis. Also, as a systematic method to reduce the time and money spent for a through education about the sickness, a concentrated "Atopic Dermatitis Camp" is held at a restricted area to reveal the effectiveness of Atopic Dermatitis camps and the necessity to develop camp education is discussed. This camp provided education and recreational programs on Atopic Dermatitis to those elementary school students who live in Seoul and wants to participate. Over 4 sessions, 151 students participated in the overnight camp. As for the result of the research, a 15-point-scale survey on the Atopic Dermatitis patients` knowledge on the sickness has shown a 10.64 average points before the camp and an 11.87 average after the camp. A statistically significant 1.23 points have risen. It is expected that education about the sickness through the Atopic Dermatitis camp had a positive effect on the patients `knowledge and also that this camp has been an opportunity to recognize the patients` desires to participate in the Atopic Dermatitis camp.

        A Review on Membranes and Catalysts for Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis Single Cells

        The research efforts directed at advancing water electrolysis technology continue to intensify together with the increasing interest in hydrogen as an alternative source of energy to fossil fuels. Among the various water electrolysis systems reported to date, systems employing a solid polymer electrolyte membrane are known to display both improved safety and efficiency as a result of enhanced separation of products: hydrogen and oxygen. Conducting water electrolysis in an alkaline medium lowers the system cost by allowing non-platinum group metals to be used as catalysts for the complex multi-electron transfer reactions involved in water electrolysis, namely the hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions (HER and OER, respectively). We briefly review the anion exchange membranes (AEMs) and electrocatalysts developed and applied thus far in alkaline AEM water electrolysis (AEMWE) devices. Testing the developed components in AEMWE cells is a key step in maximizing the device performance since cell performance depends strongly on the structure of the electrodes containing the HER and OER catalysts and the polymer membrane under specific cell operating conditions. In this review, we discuss the properties of reported AEMs that have been used to fabricate membrane-electrode assemblies for AEMWE cells, including membranes based on polysulfone, poly(2,6-dimethyl-p-phylene) oxide, polybenzimidazole, and inorganic composite materials. The activities and stabilities of tertiary metal oxides, metal carbon composites, and ultra-low Pt-loading electrodes toward OER and HER in AEMWE cells are also described.
