연폭로 근로자들에서 적혈구 Pyrimidine 5'-Nucleotidase 활성도 및 요중 N-Acetyl-β-D-Glucosaminidase 활성도와의 상관관계 연구

In this study, we measured the activity of the erythrocyte pyrimidin 5'-nuclectidase(P5N) and urinary N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase(NAG) from 154 workers exposed to lead and 43 workers not exposed. We analyzed the correlation of the P5N activity and NAG activity with other biololgical exposure indices of lead such as blood lead(PbB) and zinc protoporphyrin(ZPP). The measurement was performed by using high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC), spectrophotometer and atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results are as follows : 1. The mean value of P5N activity for workers exposed to lead was 9.50±3.13 μmol uridine/hr/g Hb and 11.60±2.2 μmol uridine/hr/g Hb for workers not exposed. The P5N activity showed a normal distribution, but the other indices of lead showed logarithmic normal distributions. 2. The P5N activity and ZPP were decreased as PbB was increased. But the NAG activity had no correlation with changes of PbB. 3. The correlation coefficients of the P5N activity with other biological exposure indices of lead such as PbB, ZPP, NAG activity were -0.72, -0.55, and 0.05, respectively. We speculated that the P5N activity can be used as a reliable biological exposure index of lead but NAG activity can be used as a biological management index of lead.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of health education program in Choongju rural area which had conducted by Public Health Doctor during winter in 1994 and 1995. We used two step sampling method for a household survey. First, six were selected from 12 Myuns, which were stratified by the level of health education activity. Second, we applied convenient sample method. Of the 307 respondents, most of them knew Health-subcenter's existence in their region. However, only 149 persons(45%) visited it during last year. They visited Health-subcenter because it was easy to travel and convenient. Some of them thought that Health-subcenter had very poorly equipped and supplied. About 32∼34% of respondents participated the health education program for hypertension and diabetes mellitus which was done last winter, and 59∼70% of participants of the program answered that it was very, moderately helpful. 82∼83% of participants recognized complications of hypertension and diabetes mellitus, and 18∼20% of them did not know that medications of hypertension and diabetes mellitus should be continued one's whole life. The respondents want to receive health educations for cancer, arthritis, viral hepatitis and AIDS in orders. Many of rural residents utilize Health-subcenters because health clinics in Choongju rural area are very few.
돼지의 세균성 설사증에 대한 항균펩타이드(Buforin Ⅱb)의 야외효능 실험

The objectives in the present study were to evaluate the therapeutic effect of antimicrobial peptide (Buforin Ⅱ b) against piglet diarrhea in the field test. Experiment was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Buforin Ⅱb on piglets having diarrhea with two treatments; Treatment A (2 mg of Buforin Ⅱ b/ml) and Treatment B (4 mg of Buforin Ⅱb/ml). Changes in body weight, average daily gains, diarrhea index and shedding of hemolytic E. coli were monitored for the experimental period under field conditions. In this study ( n= 40 pigs), Treatment A and B group reduced diarrhea index(p<0.01, p<0.001) and shedding of hemolytic E. coli, and increased body weight and average daily gain, compared to the Control(+) group. This study indicated that Buforin Ⅱb had therapeutic effect and possibility for treatment in piglets having diarrhea.
모 중장비 제조 사업장의 유해작업요인 평가에 관한 연구

We evaluated the types and the amount of hazards in a heavy equipment factory and a plant factory to improve workers' health and to determine the priority in occupational health programs. We first inspected the working processes to find hazardous agents, measured them in each process environment, and compare the results with their TLVs(Threshold Level Value). This study was carried out from December 26, 1995 to January 30, 1996. The results are as follows: 1. In two factories, we identified the following hazardous agents: noise, dust, heavy metal fume, organic solvents, illumination, gases and ultraviolet light. 2. In the heavy equipment factory, some agents were over their TLVs in the following departments. 1) Preparation Department: dust, Pb, Mn, Fe₂O₃, NO₂ 2) Manufacture Department: noise, dust, Pb, Mn, Fe₂O₃, NO₂ 3) Assembly Department: noise 4) Technique Department: NO₂ 3. In the plant factory, some agents were over their TLVs in the following departments: 1) 1 Bay: illumination, Pb, Mn, Fe₂O₃ 2) 2 Bay: dust, illumination, Cu 3) 3 Bay: illumination 4) 4 Bay: noise, dust, Pb, Mn, Fe₂O₃, NO₂ 5) 5 Bay: noise, dust, Pb, Mn, Fe₂O₃, NO₂ 6) 6 Bay: Pb, Mn, NO₂ We concluded that the hazardous agents such as heavy metal fume, noise and noxious gas were required to be controlled at first.
자주달개비 미세핵 분석법을 이용한 비스페놀 에이 및 감마선의 생물학적 영향 비교 연구

합성화학물질의 몇몇은 고등동물의 내분비계를 교란하는 물질로 작용하는 것이 알려져 있다. 다이옥신,디디티,피시비 및 비스페놀 에이 등이 내분비계 장애물질로 분류되어 선진 각국에서는 엄격한 통제하에 관리되고 있다. 본 연구는 자주달개비 미세핵 분석법을 이용하여 염색체이상 유발에 있어서의 BPA와 방사선의 상대적 효과를 비교하기 위하여 시행되었다 흡수처리를 위하여 자주달개비 4430클론의 절취화서를 각각의 농도로 조제된 BPA용액에 여섯시간 동안 침지하고 폭기를 실시하였다. 한편 방사선의 영향을 평가하기 위하여 동일 식물체의 화서군을 양액에 침지한 상태로 O∼0.5 Gy까지 선량별로 조사하였다. 실험선량의 범위에서 미세핵 생성률은 분명한 선량-반응 관계를 나타내었으며 BPA 실험농도 범위에 대해서도 농도-반응 관계를 나타내었다. 이들 두가지 반응 관계식을 이용하여 동일한 미세핵 빈도를 유발하는 방사선량과 비스페놀 에이 농도를 산출할 수가 있는데, BPAll.8μM은 방사선 피폭후 임상증상이 나타나기 시작하는 선량인 0.25Gy에 상응하는 염색체 이상을 유발하는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 통하여 자주달개비 화분모세포는 비스페놀 에이, 욱틸페놀 또는 노닐페놀 등의 내분비계 장애물질의 생물학적 독성을 평가하는데 유용하게 활용할 수 있는 생물말단 점이라는 것이 입증되었다. Some of synthetic chemicals can act as an endocrine disrupting substance in higher animals. Dioxins, DDT, PCBs and bisphenol A (BPA) are classified into endocrine disruptors and are under a strict control in many countries. This research was designed to compare the clastogenic effects of BPA to those of ionizng radiation to establish the relative effectiveness of BPA by means of Tradescantia micronucleus assay. For the uptake of the BPA through the stems, groups of fresh cuttings of Tradescantia BNL 4430 were placed in BPA solutions of 0 to 4 ??M for 6 hours under continuous aeration. The other groups of the cuttings were irradiated with 0 to 0.5 Gy of gamma-rays. The frequencies of micronucleus showed a positive dose-response relationship in the range of 0 to 0.5 Gy, and a clear concentration-response relationship in the experimental range of BPA concentrations. By comparing the two experimental results, it is possible to estimate the BPA concentration and its equivalent radiation dose for a fixed value of MCN frequency. BPA of 11.8 ??M can give rise to 53.3 MCN/100 tetrads, which is the same frequency induced by 25 cGy of gamma-rays. It is of biological importance that clinical symptoms start to develop after a whole body exposure to radiation higher than 25 cGy. The results indicate that the pollen mother cells are an excellent biological end-point for toxicity test of suspected endocrine disrupting chemicals such as bisphenol A, cotylphenol and nonylphenol.
