본“천연가스 다단연소기술 연구”는, 공업적으로 널리 쓰이는 선회확산 방식으로 천연가스를 연소시킬 때 그 연소 특성과 발생되는 환경오염물질인 일산화탄소(CO)와 질소산화물(NOX)의 저감에 대한 연구로서, 천연가스의 난류확산화염과 선회확산화염의 유동장, 온도장, 농도장을 실험과 수치해석을 통하여 분석하여 각각 연소방식의 화염구조와 특성을 규명하고 해석하였다. 그리고 그 결과를 토대로하여 다단확산 연소실험 장치를 제작 다단확산연소의 중요한 인자인 1차당량비, 2차공기주입위치, 유속, 선회도 등을 변화시켜 질소산화물 저감과 높은 연소효율을 얻을 수 있는 최적의 연소조건을 찾아 내었다. 본고에서는 실험부분만을 간추려 발표하고 수치해석 부분은 다음 기회로 미루고자 한다.
앙리 미쇼(Henri Michaux)의 환각제 실험을 통한 심연의 탐험

This study is to clarify the nature and the meaning of a series of experimentation done by the hallucinogenic drug that Henri Michaux had attempted for over ten years from 1956. Despite the dangers which hallucinogenic drug may involve and its vulgarity which drug can evoke could not be an ethical evaluation on the consumption of white powder, nor a remark on the possibility that the drug could have in social function such as fascinating, strange, and divine power, for which we could find in Dionysian feast. We know that Henri Michaux is a man who pushes to the end. even to the extreme like as we verify, his quests during all his life was just one, and that was the question of Being. Thus, his drug experiments signifies his former attempts had failed or did not provide a satisfactory result. At the same time, this must be made in a different way. In fact, Michaux tries different hallucinogenic drug, like as L.S.D., hashish, mescaline and psilocybine, separately alone or miced, in a variable dose, not to enjoy, but to surprise the hidden mystery of mental system. The drug, by his modifying power, permits experimenter to catch a glimpse of the functional mystery of human's mental system. Under the effect of drug, the idea does not exist as a tangible substance, but as a process of a continuous, never-ending montage. So, is the nature of the thing always clear and transparent? What is the thing possesses by the essence itself, that's his original opacity and unstability. In the ordinary life men needs the fixed form to hold the meaning and to act only. That's to say that men tend to be a subject to the concept of utility. From this, the term become as the use. The word acts in a same way-unites with each other, imprison within an over-rigid meaning or definition. Even though the principle of language escapes from the rule, the language is a subject as well. So this is where the problem lies. A man in Poddema dies by his own word. Michaux sometimes hate the writing because it leaves many meaning behind. If the experience was under the effect of the drug in where the meaning and the word never meet due to the difference of their appearing sppearing speed is an abnormal situation, would the world of wsage of language where the word, locking and dominating the thing as normal? Therefore, the poet gas to liberate the language from gis limited usage, and set him free to make continual exchange between the words and its meanings as it could possibly be.

The research centers on the concentration profile and risk assessment of toxic metals for ambient air in Taejon industrial complex. Airborne concentrations of each toxic metal for risk assessment were obtained from 2-year sampling by high volume air sampler and analysis by ICP-MS and ICP-AES in the complex. The long-term arithmetic mean of human carcinogen, arsenic, hexavalent chromium and nickel subsulfide was 5.53, 2.16 and $3.46ng/m^3$ while the mean of probable human carcinogen, beryllium, cadmium and lead was 0.08, 2.35, $293.29ng/m^3$, respectively. And the long-term arithmetic mean concentration of non-carcinogenic metal, manganese was $55.91ng/m^3$. The point risk estimate for the inhalation of carcinogenic metals was $3.6{\times}10^{-5}$, which was higher than a risk standard of $10^{-5}$. About 75% of the cancer risk was to the inhalation of human carcinogen, arsenic. Thus, it is necessary to properly manage arsenic risk in Taejon industrial complex. The point hazard index by the inhalation of manganese was 1.1. Therefore, an investigation into Taejon industrial complex is needed to obtain more fine long-term concentration data for airborne non-carcinogenic metals including manganese.
