        Intended Virtuality and Spontaneous Interactivity

        “The Feather Series” is a series of large-scale 3D lenticular works of Jong Soo Kwon. In Kwon’s work, he aimed for virtuality of Korean traditional spaces by expressing them using a 3D lenticular technology. One of the main goals of the 3D lenticular technology is to emphasize reality and the presence of objects, but Kwon applied this with a reverse twist. Moreover, when viewers see the lenticular image in a limited space, e.g., a white cube of galleries, the viewers can feel as if the painting follows their eyes, which creates a sense of interaction. Using a series of artworks using current technology, Kwon paradoxically argued that artists should pay closer attention to their own culture and tradition rather than focusing on the latest trends.

        넙치, Paralichthys olivaceus의 수온 자극 스트레스에 대한 사료첨가제 투여 효과

        본 연구는 넙치의 수온 스트레스에 대한 사료첨가제 (미역 5%, 미역 10%, 어보산 0.5%, 고추냉이 잎 2%, 고추냉이 줄기 2%)의 영향을 혈액학적, 면역학적 측면과 Edwardsiella tanda를 사용하여 질병에 대한 저항성으로서 평가하였다. 혈장의 글루코즈와 콜티졸 농도는 1차 수온 변동 후 대조구에 비하여 미역 5%와 고추냉이잎 2% 첨가구에서 유의적으로 낮게 나타났다(P〈0.05). 1차 수온 변동 후 혈장 라이소자임 활성과 E. tarda의 공격 시험 후 생존율은 미역 5%첨가구에서 대조구에 비하여 유의적으로 높게 나타났다(P〈0.05). 본 실험 결과 미역 5% 첨가 사료 투여는 넙치의 스트레스 상태에서 질병 감염에 대한 저항성을 높일 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. The effect of each dietary supplements (Undaria 5%, Undaria l0%, Obosan 0.5%, Wasabi leaf 2%, Wasabi stem 2%) on the water temperature fluctuation in juvenile olive flounder (Puralichthys olivaceus) was investigated. The response to stress was assessed in terms of effects on haematological and immunological, and resistance against Edwurdsiella tarda infection. Plasma glucose and cortisol levels were significantly lower in 5% undaria and 2% wasabi leaf supplement groups than the controls after the first change of water temperature (P<0.05). The plasma lysozyme activities and the survival rates from E. tarda infection were significantly higher in the 5% undaria supplement groups than the control (P<0.05). These results suggest that the 5% undaria supplement seems to be contributable to the increased disease resistance on olive flounder.

        습식방법에 의한 팽창흑연의 제조 및 특성에 관한 연구

        본 연구에서는 습식방법에 의한 팽창흑연(EG)의 특성을 조사하였고, 오일 흡착실험을 통하여 EG의 유류 흡착제로서의 적용에 대한 가능성을 조사하였다. 실험에 사용된 층간흑연(GICs)은 습식방법에 의하여 천연흑연의 층간에 삽입제를 삽입시켜 준비하였고, EG는 GICs를 600-900℃ 사이의 고온과 산소기류 하에서 1분간 열처리하여 제조하였다. 다양한 처리 온도에 대한 EG의 팽창 부피, 삽입제의 함량 그리고 층간거리는 메스실린더와 XRD를 사용하여 측정하였고, 오일 흡착실험을 위하여 n-dodecane을 사용하였다. 또한, 오일흡착 전과 후의 표면 형태는 SEM을 이용하여 관찰하였다. 실험 결과, 처리 온도의 증가와 함께 EG의 팽창 부피와 삽입제의 함량은 증가하였고, 오일 흡착용량은 EG(1 g)에 대해 16-35 g의 오일을 흡착하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 이러한 실험결과, EG의 제조를 위한 습식방법은 오일의 새로운 흡착제로써 EG를 제조하는 유용한 방법으로 관찰된다. In this work, the characteristics of expanded graphite (EG) are investigated for the possibility of useful application as oil-adsorbent of EG. The graphite intercalated compounds (GICs) are prepared by the wet process that leads to an intercalation of intercalant into natural graphites. The graphite intercalate is subjected to the heat treatment in furnace between 600℃ and 900℃ under oxidizing atmosphere for about 1 min. The expansion volume, volatile content, and interlayer distance of EG on different heating temperatures are measured by mass cylinder and X-ray diffraction (XRD). N-dodecane is used for oil adsorption, and morphology of EG before and after oil adsorption is observed by SEM. As a result, the expansion volume and volatile content of EG are increased with increasing the treatment temperature. The oil adsorption capacity is found to be 16-35g of n-dodecane per the 1g EG studied. It is then concluded that the wet process of EG is a useful technique for a new adsorbent of oil.

        생분해성 폴리락타이드/폴리에틸렌글리콜 공중합체 마이크캡슐의 제조와 방출거동에 대한 연구

        본 연구에서는 생분해성 poly(L-lactide) (PLA)/poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) 마이크로캡슐을 액중건조법으로 제조하고, PLA 마이크로캡슐에 PEG를 첨가함에 따른 분해거동, 크기분포 그리고 방출거동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 그 결과, PLA/PEG 공중합체는 PLA보다 친수성이 크게 나타났고, 낮은 유리전이 온도를 가짐을 알 수 있었다. PLA/PEG 마이크로캡슐의 표면은 PLA 마이크로캡슐보다 부드럽지 못했고, 제조된 PLA와 PLA/PEG 마이크로캡슐의 평균크기는 40과 57 ㎛이었으며, 또한 구형의 형태를 나타내는 것이 image analyzer와 SEM을 통하여 관찰되었다. PLA/PEG 마이크로캡슐의 약물 방출거동은 UV/Vis. spectra를 통하여 살펴보았고, 방출 속도는 PEG의 첨가에 따라 두드러지게 증가하였는데, 이는 친수성기의 증가와 PEG의 팽윤성으로 설명되어질 수 있다. In this work, biodegradable poly(L-lactide) (PLA)/poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) microcapsules were prepared by emulsion solvent evaporation method. The effect of PEG segments on the degradation, size distribution, and release behavior of the microcapsules was studied. According to the experimental results, PLAPEG copolymers were more hydrophilic and exhibited lower glass transition temperatures compared to PLA homopolymer. The surface of PLAPEG microcapsules was not as smooth as that of PLA microcapsules. The mean diameters of the PLA and PLA/PEG microcapsules were 40 and 57 pm, respectively. The spherical forms were observed by image analyzer and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Drug release from microcapsules was determined by UV/Vis spectra. It was found that the drug release rates of the microcapsules were significantly increased with adding of PEG, which could be attributed to the increase in their hydrophilicity and swelling characteristics.

      • 간암세포에서 저산소증에 의해 유도되는 VEGF의 발현기작에 대한 연구

        Puropse: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a typical hypervasculized tumor is very sensitive to hypoxia and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) has previously been identified to be up-regulated in response to hypoxia in several cell types. However, the molecular mechanisms by which hypoxia is sensed by the cells remain enigmatic. To investigate whether calcium and AP-1 are involved in hypoxia-sensing mechanism, we performed following experiments. Materials and Methods: Hep3B cells were grown in hypoxic condition. To assess cell viability, MTT assay was performed. To investigate the effect of calcium and AP-1, northern blot analysis was performed after treatment with BAPTA/AM. Results: The expression of VEGF was significantly up-regulated by hypoxia in Hep3B, hepatocellular carcinoma cell line. The increased expression of VEGF induced by hypoxia was blocked by the addition of BAPTA/AM, a cytosolic calcium chelator to the media. In addition, we found that the expression of c-jun protooncogene was also up-regulated by hypoxia. Hypoxic increase of c-jun expression was also normalized by the treatment with BAPTA/AM. Conclusion: These results suggest that the increased expression of VEGF by hypoxia is mediated through the calcium and c-jun signalling pathway in the Hep3B human hepatoma cell lines.

      • 숯첨가 사료투여가 넙치의 면역반응에 미치는 영향

        숯첨가 사료 투여가 넙치에 미치는 영향을 알기 위하여, 넙치에 숯 1%, 3%, 5% 첨가사료를 8주간 투여하면서 성장, 혈액성분, 비특이적면역능을 분석하였으며 어병세균인 Edwardsiella tarda 균의 공격 시험에 대한 방어능을 조사하였다. 숯 첨가 사료 투여는 넙치의 성장과 라이소자임 활성에서는 유의적인 차이를 나타내지 못했지만, 5% 숯첨가구에서 혈액 중의 total protein과 cholesterol의 농도가 대조구에 비하여 낮게 나타났다. 그리고, 숯 3% 첨가구에서 두신 식세포의 활성 및 병원성 세균인 E. tarda에 대한 방어능도 가장 높게 나타났다. The charcoal effects on the immune responses of flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus were studied. Fish were fed an experimental diet supplemented with 1%, 3% or 5% of charcoal to a commercial diet. Several factors such as weight gain, hematological parameters, nonspecific immune responses and resistance against Edwardsiella tarda were evaluated 4 and 8 weeks after the administraion. The changes of body weight and lysozyme activities were not signigicant among tested groups. But cholesterol and total protein concentration in the blood were significantly lower in the 5% supplemented group than in the control. The production of superoxide by macrophage from the head kidney, examined by NBT reduction, was significantly higher in the 3% charcoal supplemented groups than in the control. The survival rate after an artificial challenge with 1×10^exp(7) cells of E. tarda per fish was significantly the highest in the 3% charcoal supplemented group.

        정신분열병 환자의 살인에 관한 연구 : 가족내 살인과 비가족 살인의 비교연구

        Sixty schizophrenia patients who committed homicide and detained after January 1, 1993 were divided in two groups, depending on whether their victim was a family member or not. Below conclusions were deduced from the comparison of the two groups in terms including demographic characteristics, onset and duration of illness, IQ score, suicidal attempts, history of alcohol/drug abuse or past crime, neuropsychiatric ward admission history, living circumstance, conflict with the victim, and adolescent conducting behavior. 1. More in the family homiciding patients (FHP) group lived alone due their unmarried, divorced, or separated marital status than those in the non-family homiciding patients (NFHP) group. More in the FHP group were in married state than those in NFHP group. 2. more in the NFHP group stayed alone apart from their fmily, while more in the FHP group lived with their family. 3. Those in the NFHP group show more frequent suicidal attempts than those in the FHP group, implying they have difficulties in the control of their impulsive behaviors. 4. To prevent the crime, it is essential for the government to practice the systematic support and care of the schizophrenia patients who are living alone, especially those without relative.

      • 여학생 동복 하의 착용시의 생리반응과 주관적 착용감

        In this study, physiological responses and subjective sensations were investigated depending on various high school girls' lower cloth uniform in winter. Four healthy young women were selected, and they wore same underwear and jacket. The types of lower cloth were tight skirt+stocking, flared skirt+stocking, tight skirt+legings+socks, flared skirt+legings+socks, and slacks+socks. The results were as follows: 1) The effect of the type of lower cloth in winter on the skin temperature, humidity inside clothing and subjective sensations were significant. 2) It is desirable for high school girls to wear slacks in winter, Since physiological responses and subjective sensations of slacks are superior to those of skirts. 3) It is desirable for high school girls to wear flared skirt, legings, socks in winter, Since insulation and subjective sensations of flared skirts are superior to those of tight skirts.
