The contact forces between die components for the drawing of large size automotive panels introduce elastic deflections of the die components. Due to the deflections, the gap between blank holder and die varies locally resulting in nonuniform material flow. Such a nonuniform die gap usually requires correcting operation, so called die spotting, which is time consuming trial and error process. To reduce the die spotting time, the optimization of the blank holder bending deflection is needed. In this paper, we implemented an analysis procedure to predict the blank holder deflection. The analysis procedure and design of experiments techniques are applied to the optimization of balance block heights. The optimization results can be used as guidelines in actual die spotting process.
AFB 공정을 이용한 양돈폐수의 혐기성전처리에 관한 연구

This research was performed to optimize the anaerobic pretreatment of slurry type swine wastewater for the subsequent nitrogen and phophorus removal. Step-wise increases in Organic Loading Rate(OLR) and decreases in Hydraulic Retention Time(HRT) were utilized in Upflow Anaerobic Fixed Bed(AFB) reactor at mesophilic temperature(35℃). The maximum methane prodution rates of 1.16 v/v-d was observed at an HRT of 12 hours. TCOD removal efficiency of 75% at an HRT of 2 days and 41% at an HRT of 12 hours were obtained respectively. It is likely that the influent COD concentration of 3,000 mg/L for the subsequent biological nutrient removal system could be supplied from the anaerobic pretreatments operated at an HRT of 12 hours(OLR 12g CODL-day). During AFB operation alkalinity showed 800- 1,500mg/L as CaCO_(3) at all HRTs. It could play an important role for compensating pH drop caused by nitrification. The COD/TKN ratio of 6-14 at all HRTs, COD/TP ratio of 30-50 at an HRT of 1 day and proper buffering capacity and pH of the effluent from the anaerobic fixed bed could be adequate substrate condition in the following nitrogen and phosphorus removal. In conclusion, when AFB was operated at an HRT less than 1 day, the system could be optimized to reach an efficient anaerobic pretreatment for swine wastewater and the subsequent biological nutrient removal.

A prototype of the GMT FSM has been developed to acquire and to enhance the key technology – mirror fabrication and tiptilt actuation. The ellipsoidal off-axis mirror has been designed, analyzed, and fabricated from light-weighting to grinding, polishing, and figuring of the mirror surface. The mirror was tested by using an interferometer together with CGHs, which revealed the surface error of 13.7 nm rms in the diameter of 1030 mm. The SCOTS test was employed to independently validate the test results. It measured the surface error to be 17.4 nm rms in the diameter of 1010 mm. Both tests show the optical surface of the FSMP mirror within the required value of 20 nm rms surface error.
Acute Care Surgery Model for Emergency Cholecystectomy

Purpose: Acute care surgery (ACS) models have evolved worldwide over the last decade. However, South Korea has an established trauma system and does not consider the ACS model. This study compares the management and outcome of emergency cholecystectomy in the ACS model to those of traditional on-call attending surgeon model for emergency surgery.Methods: Retrospectively collected data for patients who underwent emergency cholecystec-tomy from May 2013 to January 2015 was analyzed to compare data from a traditional on-call system (OCS) and ACS.Results: One hundred and twenty-four patients were enrolled in the study (62 patients ACS vs. 62 patients OCS). Hospital stay (days) (ACS=4.29±2.49 vs. OCS=4.82±4.48, p=0.46) and stay in emergency room (minutes) (ACS=213.10±113.99 vs. OCS=241.10±150.73, p=0.20) did not differ significantly between groups. Operation time (minutes) was significantly shorter in the ACS than OCS group (389.97±215.21 vs. 566.35±290.14, p<0.001). Other clinical variables (sex, open-conversion rate, whether the operation was performed at night/holiday, intensive care unit admission rate) did not differ between groups. There was no mortality and readmission.Conclusion: The implementation of the ACS led to shorter operation time and no increase of postoperative mortality and complication. Introduction :The sensitivity of tumor cells to radiotherapy is a critical determinant of local control and po-tential cure in advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC). The emergence of radioresistant tumor cells is an obstacle to cancer therapy. Most radioresistant cells have a higher proportion of cells in the S-phase of the cell cycle and a lower apoptotic fraction than radiosensitive cells. HSV replication is increased in cells that have higher S-phase fractions. NV1066 is an oncolytic herpes simplex virus type-1 mutant. We hy-pothesized that NV1066 replication and cytotoxicity are increased in radioresistant cells. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the antitumor efficacy of NV1066 to treat radioresistant HNSCC. Methods :Radioresistant cells were selected by treating five HNSCC cell lines with repeated conventional fractionated doses of radiation(2Gy/day), using a Cs-137 irradiator, up to a cumulative dose of 70Gy. Clonogenic cell survival and S-phase fractions were compared between radioresistant and parental radiosensitive cells. The two cell populations were then treated with NV1066 to examine viral replication, by the viral plaque assay and viral cytotoxicity. Results :Fractionated irradiation resulted in the selection of radioresistant cells. Radioresistant cells had a higher S-phase fraction(42.9%) compared to parental cells(26.2%). NV1066 replication in radioresistant cells was 7.4times higher than in parental cells(p<0.01). Treatment with NV1066 resulted in increased cytotoxicity of 24.5% in radioresistant cells compared to parental cells(p<0.05). Conclusion :NV1066 showed increased viral replication and cytotoxicity in radioresistant HNSCC cell lines. These findings suggest a potential clinical application for this oncolytic viral therapy as treatment for radiore-sistant head and neck cancers.

$quot;The major feature of Behcet`s syndrome is characterized by recurrent oral and genital ulcers and ocular lesion. Other manifestations of the syndrome include pyoderma, erythema nodosum, thrombophlebitis, pericarditis, arthritis, hepatomegaly, epididymitis, ulcers of the gastrointestinal tract, and central nervous system disease. Recently, we experienced a case of Neuro-Behcet syndrome associated with epididymitis and orchitis. A 30-year-old man was admitted with paraplegia and dysuria. Multiple aphthous ulcers, erythema nodosum, uveitis and epididymitis had developed during his hospital course. Cerebrospinal fluid examination showed 17 white blood cell/㎣ and a total protein level of 56mg/dl. A search for viral, bacterial and fungal agents by culture and the serolagy of the cerebrospinal fluid had been serially checked, always with negative results. There was a gradual improvement in his neurologic symptoms. Hence we present a case of Neuro-Behcet`s disease with literature. $quot;
