        There exists a major impediment to learning electricity which may illuminate why direct presentation of scientists' ideas is too aggressive a strategy. This impediment lies in thinking that electricity is used up and in envisaging the light bulb as a consumer. This view is based on a powerful idea which summarises much of our experience; it declares that 'things get used up', 'you cannot get something for nothing', and 'intuitive thinking'. To replace this view with scientific view, we made the analogy model. It is suggested that the analogy model is more effective in teaching electricity circuits than conventional teaching method.

      • 다양한 함불소가스들의 고비점 용매에 관한 용해도 측정 및 엑막에 의한 분리

        The solubility of various fluoro-gases in high boiling-point solvents, n-Cnh_2n+_1OH(6<n<10)and ionic liquids(+ ions: 1-Buty 1-3-methy1-imidazolium, 1-Ethy1-3-methy1-imidazolium, - ions:BF_4, PF_6, S_6F_6, F_6O_4S_6) were measured at temperatures from 0 to 30℃, at total pressures up to 4 bat Solubility increased significantly with the decrease of n in n-Cn_2N+OH and showed no such a difference in the types of ionic liquids, Especially, the solubility of R22 gas in these solvents increases rapidly with increases in pressure and decreases in temperature, whereas other fluoro-gases were showed a little solubility Liquid-supported membranes were prepared with these solvents and polymer matrix and were applied to the separation of fluoro-gases including R22 gas. A high permeability and selectivity were exhibited in R22 gas against other fluoro-gases.

      • 초등학교 학생들의 빛에 대한 개념

        This study examined elementary school students' ideas about light. The results are as follows; Most students think light's travel distance is different between in the daytime and the night. It is because that children's ideas are strongly influenced by their egocentric or human-centered view of the world and that children don't have the scientific model which can integrate a various kinds of same conditions. And the students think light's travel distance is different as the type of illuminant. They think that the strong illuminant like the sun travel so far but the dim light from a candle doesn't go too far. So, we must teach that the light keeps traveling until it reaches something regardless of the type and strength of illuminant. I suggest that these misconceptions must be changed into the scientific concept through enough discussion after the activities.

        The results are as follows: (1) Elementary school students apply different rules to problem-solving on electric circuits which is consisted of batteries and bulb; (2) They apply the following rules; In a 4-th grader, the more bulbs and batteries are, the lighter bulbs are, in a 5-th grader, the more batteries are, the lighter bulbs are, and in a 6-th grader, the more bulbs are, the darker bulbs are and if bulbs are parallel, then bulbs become dark.

      • 自然銅의 修治法에 대한 文獻的 考察

        In the result of investigating traditional chinese medical literatures to understand drug-processing about Pyritum, we could reach conclusions as follows: 1. Pyritum are divided into fresh Pyritum, calcining Pyritum, tempered Pyritum with vinegar by methods of drug-processing. 2. The methods of drug-procession about Pyritum like calcination, quenching, refining drugs with water or medicianl broth of Glycyrrgizae Radix(licorice), boiling with medicinal broth of Glycyrrhizae Radix(licorice) were used complicately. 3. Calcining Pyritum are grinded easily, convenient to apply a pill and powder and As, S are easily removed. Quenching Pyritum act on liver channel and then are reinforced the effects of relieving blood stasis, pain and gushed out effecive ingredients. Refining Pyritum with water are reinforced the effect of tranquilizing the mind and clearing heat. above results indicates that using calcination, quenching and refining drugs with water together is the best method of drug-processing about Pyritum.

      • 중재합의의 서면성 : Kahn Lucas 사건을 중심으로

        The Kahn Lucas case is one of the few cases which dealt directly with the matter on the interpretation of the provisions of Article 2(2) of the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcemtne of Foreign Arbitral Awards of 1958. It is quite well-known that Article 2(2) of the Convention sets down the written requirement of arbitration agreement by providing that an arbitration clause or a separate arbitration agreement should be signed. In the Kahn Lucas case, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit firmly decided that the written requirement should be maintained for the contract containing the arbitration clause in issue. In the case, the existence of the comma in Article 2(2) was found critical. One of the interesting points in the Kahn Lucas case is the way in which the lower court in the United States managed it. In Korea, it would be almost impossible for a court to allow the applicant to refer his case to an arbitration institution while the court postponed making the decision to the effect of rejecting the applicant`s claims. Pursuant to the current provisions of the Korean Arbitration Act of 1999, the courts in Korea may not stay the action before them. The Kahn Lucas case deserves thorough analysis in that it is suggestive of the difference between the practices in the American courts and those in the Korean courts.

        The optimum conditions of preparing barium ferrite from barium carbonate and iron (Ⅲ) oxide are sought for with electron microscope. The result shows that largest quantity of hexagonal barium ferrite phase was found at the mole ratio 1 to 3 of BaCO₃and Fe₂O₃ and its best condition could be got with the secondary sintering temperature at 1,200℃ and for two hours.

        남북상사중재위원회 구성·운영 활성화 방안

        North Korea and South Korea agreed to refer their investment disputes to arbitration by adopting 'Agreed Minutes on Procedure of Settlement of Commercial Disputes' on 16th December 2000. According to the Agreed Minutes, the two Koreas were to establish an arbitration commission within 6 months after the Agreed Minutes had been signed. In 2002, North Korea enacted laws to draw interest of foreign tourists to Mountain Kumgang and to boost investment into the region of Kaesung as it provided in those laws that commercial disputes should be settled by arbitration or judicial procedures. In October 2003, the two Koreas succeeded in adopting another Agreed Minutes as to the establishment and functioning of North-South Arbitration Commission. The fact that the two Koreas have agreed to establish an arbitration commission is meaningful since they are leading their lives quite differently in political, social, and economic sense for more than a half century. Although there still remain doubts as to the North Korean policy on nuclear matters, an arbitration commission could be a cornerstone for the set-up of the dispute settlement system between the two Koreas and a great help for investors from South Korea to pursue their possible legal claims as North Korea is eager to invite South Korean businessmen and other foreign investors to invest in its special economic areas. According to the Agreed Minutes of 2003, the two Koreas are going to adopt procedural rules for the arbitration commission. It will be a great challenge for them to agree on specific issues as to the operation of the arbitration commission. They have to set up a roster of arbitrators respectively and may have to enact or revise their own arbitration laws and rules reflecting the Agreed Minutes of 2000 and 2003. It is quite welcome that the two Koreas have agreed to set up an arbitration commission rather than resort to political or diplomatic means to settle their disputes. The success of the arbitration system between the two Koreas will make sure the safety of investment environment in the northen part of the Korean Peninsula and will bring the peace to the Korean peninsula earlier than expected.

        상분리법을 통하여 제조된 새로운 개념의 지지형 액막의 기체투과특성

        새로운 지지형 액막(SLM)을 용매 증발에 따른 1차, 2차 상분리법으로 3성분 고분자 용액으로부터 제조하였다. 액막재로 이온액인 BMIBF_(4) (BMI+ =1-(1-butyl)-3-methylimidazolium, BF_(4)=tetra-fluoro boratr)와 매트릭스 고분자로 polyvinylidenefluoride(PVDF)가 사용되었다. 이 고정화 액막의 O_(2), N_(2) 그리고 CO_(2) 기체 투과특성을 여러 조작 조건에서 조사하였다. SLM은 가혹한 조건에서 조작하였음에도 불구하고 오랜 시간동안 높은 CO_(2) 투과도 및 선택성을 유지하였다. 투과거동을 나타내는 인자인 투과도, 확산도, 그리고 용해도를 연속 측정 장치를 통하여 구함으로써 특성을 관찰하였다. SLM은 다른 기체에 비하여 CO_(2)에 대해서 높은 투과도와 선택도를 갖고 있었다. 특히, 막내 CO_(2)의 용해도는 다른 기체들에 비하여 매우 높은 반면 확산도는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 또한 막내 이온액의 조성은 CO_(2) 용해도에 영향을 관찰할 수 있었다. 막내 이온액의 조성이 증가함에 따라서 CO_(2) 의 투과도 및 선택도가 극격히 증가하였다. 이는 SLM를 통한 기체 투과에 있어서 용해도가 주인자로 큰 영향을 끼침으로써 막내 이온액 조성 증가 SLM의 투과에 큰 영향을 미침을 확인하였다. The new supported liquid membranes (SLMs) were fabricated from ternary polymer solution contained ionic liquid in which primary and secondary phase separations were induced by the solvent by the solvent evaporaton. The used ionic liquid and polymer matrix were BMBF_(4) (BMI+=-(1-butyl)-3-methylimidazolium, BF_(4)-tetra-fluoro boratel and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). Gas permeation properties of the SLM to O_(2), N_(2) and CO_(2) were studied at various operating conditions. Although the SLM were operated under severe operating condition, it maintained high CO_(2) permeability and selectivity for quite long time. The solubility coefficient of CO_(2) in the membrace was very high in comparison with those of other gases; whereas there was no big difference in the diffusivity between CO and other gases. Moreover, in the permeation of pure gases, it is observed that the ionic liquid content in the membrane affected the solubility of CO_(2) in the memhranc. With increasing ionic liquid content in the membrane, the permeability and selectivity of CO_(2) increase significantly. There fore, in the permeation of gases through SLM, the overall permeation performances weir affected mainly by solubility coefficient. This observation can be discussed in terms of the influence of solubility coefficient with ionic liquid content in the membrane.
