      • Sparganum 에서 생성된 성장호르몬 유사물질에 관한 면역조직화학적 연구

        Spirometra erinacei의 전이숙주인 흰쥐가 제 3기유충 Plerocercoid (Sparganum)에 감염되었을때 숙주의 성정에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위하여 흰쥐에 Sparganum을 감염시켜 숙주의 성장을 조절하는 뇌하수체 조직중 성장호르몬(GH) 분비세포와 Sparganum에서 성장호르몬 유사물질 분비조직과의 관련성이 있는가를 면역조직화학적으로 추구하였으며 또한 Sparganum의 감염에 따라 숙주의 혈중 성장호르몬의 농동변화등을 관찰하여 다음과 같은 실험결과를 얻었다. 1. 뇌하수체에서 성장호르몬 양성분비 세포는 정상대조군보다 감염 45일, 60일, 75일째 가장 감소하였으며, 감염 90일째는 정상대조군과 같은 수준으로 회복되었다. 2. Sparganum에서 전체적으로 tegument와 epidermal musculature에 성장호르몬 유사물질을 분비하는 세포들이 많이 분포하였고, 감염일이 경과될수록 tegement와 epidermal musculature층이 두껍게 염색반응이 나타났으며, parenchymal musculature내에서도 일부 염색되었다. 특히, epidermal musculature 층에서 성장호르몬 양성세포들이 많이 나타났다. 3. SPARGANUM에 감염된 쥐의 혈중 성장호르몬 농도는 정상대조군과 유의차가 없었다. In the studies, we carried out to localize the growth hormone(GH) analogue in Sparganum and to investigate the influence of GH like substance on the rats during infection period, by immunohistochemistry and dot-ELISA. For immunohistochemistry, pituitaries of adult male rats infected with Sparganum and Sparganum itself were disseced out after perfusion with 4% neutral buffered paraformaldehyde. Tissues were embedded and sectioned at a thickness of 5 ㎛. Rabbit anti-rat GH was used as a first antibody avidin-biotin peroxidase complex(ABC) method was applied. The concentration of GH in rat blood was estimated by dot-ELISA with anti-rat GH and ABC complex. The results obtained were as follows: 1. In the pituitary glands of the infected rats, the GH secreting cells decreased in number at 45, 60, 75 days after first infection. But at 90 days after infection, the number of GH secreting cells retain the control level. 2. The Sparganum had many GH like substance secreting cells in its tegument and epidermal musculature. As the infections are longer, the tegument and epidermal musculature were stained more intensely. And also parenchymal musculature was stained pratially. 3. The concentration of GH in the blood of infected rats had no significant difference between infected groups and normal groups.

In this paper, we enumerate the equivalence classes of the 3-fold branched surface coverings p:S -> S²for a given surface S and show that every orientable surface is a branched 3-fold covering of the sphere S².

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitude difference toward the school uniform, it was supposed that clothing acceptance was differentiated according to subjects. The subjects were grouped by 3 types which were students, teachers(school governors) and parents groups. The results were as follows; 1. Boy students reguired the more freedom of clothing than girls. 2. Teachers and parents groups considered that clothing affected student's behavior and self-esteem. 3. The acceptance of school plain dress was affected by atomosphere of home and school. 4. According to socioeconomic levels, there were differences in clothing acceptance and fashion acceptance.

      • 어린이 김치 표준화에 대한 연구(1) : 어린이 김치의 담금법 개발 Development of the Preparation of Kimchi for the Children

        The purpose of this study is reporting the results of first trial for the standardization of children's kimchi in terms of brining standardization, development for the recipe ad pannel test for the children's kimchi. In order to develop the standard recipe for children's kimchi, our research team have visited kimchi factories, temples and houses located in Pusan and Kyung-Sang Nam Do province. Three kinds of chinese cabbage kimchi (hamyang, haeundae, and jinrae kimchi named by region where we collected) which got the top three highest score in panel testing was selected. The original recipes of these kimchi were sightly modified to prepared the kimchi at laboratory. Among three of them, hamyang kimchi which contained dried anchovy power was selected as a model kimchi for development of the children's kimchi recipe. We find out that the optimal salt concentration of brined cabbage and kimchi for the children's kimchi (sliced style kimchi, approximately 2.5X3cm a piece) that showed the hightest pennel score were approximately 1.5% and 2.0%, respectively. The salt concentration of brined cabbage became 1.5, 1.43, and 1.60% after 60 min at 10% brining solution, 45 min at 12% and 30 min at 15%, respectively. The developed recipe used for the children's kimchi at our team is as follows. The major ingredients used for the preparation of kimchi is brined sliced chinese cabbage (salt concentration is 1.5%) 1kg galic 11g, ginger 5.0g, red pepper powder 20.0g, fermented anchovy juice 25.0g, fermented shrimp juice 5.0g dried anchovy and sea weed extracts 30.0g, anchovy power 2.4g glutinious rice gel 40.0g, starch syrup, 10.0g, and apple juice 22.5g. The total acceptability test of developed children's kimchi (test kimchi) was carried out with 84 of 6th grade student during lunch time at elementary school in Pusan where has a school lunch program. Sixty nine percent of student answered test kimchi is very good, 25% of them said it is fair, and only 6% of students answered they didn't like test kimchil. However, for the kimchi supplied from school at lunch, 52% students answered the kimchi is good, 26% of them said it is fair, and 22% of them said they don't like school supplied kimchi. This result tells us that the test kimchi is better than school supplied kimchi and the test kimchi can be developed further as a children's kimchi.

        빠딴잘리 요가경에 나타난 인간의 본성과 삶의 목적

        본 연구의 목적은 빠딴잘리 요가경에서 가정하고 있는 인간관과 인생관을 알아보는 것이었다. 다양한 요가의 기법들과 목표는 단순한 철학적 이해를 넘어 인간 심성의 개발이라는 측면에서 심리학의 관심사와 일치한다. 그러므로 빠딴잘리 요가경을 심리학적인 시각에서 살펴보는 것이 필요하다고 보았다. 빠딴잘리는 인간은 순수의식인 뿌루샤와 물질적 요소인 쁘라끄르띠로 되어 있고 이 두 요소는 서로 관련 없이 독립적으로 존재한다고 보았다. 현상적으로 경험하는 심리적 실체인 '나'는 뿌루샤와 쁘라끄르띠의 혼동으로 파생된 것이므로 궁극적으로는 허구임을 강조하였다. 이 혼동을 아위디아(Avidya ̄)라고 하며 이로 인해 피할 수 없는 인간의 온갖 고통이 파생된다. 고통을 피하려는 욕구는 모든 인간에게 공통된 것으로 이를 위해서는 고통의 근본원인인 아위디아를 완전히 뿌리뽑아야한다. 여러 가지 명상법과 고행 법은 결국 아위디아를 제거하여 인간 본연의 실체, 즉 뿌루샤와 쁘라끄르띠의 완전한 분리를 체험하는 것이다. 이를 위해 사는 삶만이 진정으로 가치가 있는 삶임을 빠딴잘리는 거듭 강조하고 있다. 뿌루샤의 절대적 존재를 깨닫고 직접 체험함으로써 쁘라끄르띠의 무상한 세계를 초월하여 절대 자유와 행복에로 도달하는 것이 인생의 진정한 목적이라는 것이다. 이러한 빠딴잘리 요가경의 인간과 인생에 대한 태도는 언뜻 보기에는 지나치게 비현실적이고 때로는 무모한 것처럼 보인다. 그러나 빠딴잘리는 자신의 시각을 뒷받침하는 이론적, 경험적 근거를 제시하면서 자유와 행복을 위한 구체적인 방법을 과학적이고 체계적으로 설명하였다. 오랜 세월을 거쳐 경험적으로 입증되어온 요가의 실천적 방법들이 최근 심리치료에 적극적으로 도입되고 있는 실정임을 고려할 때 그 방법들의 이론적 근거를 제공하는 철학적 가정들을 심리학적인 측면에서 재조명해보고 그 가치를 새롭게 찾는 것이 시급한 일이라고 본다. This theoretical study aims to examine the several basic assumptions that Patan~jali's Yoga Su ̄tra has adopted about the nature of man and the goal of life. The Yoga Su ̄tras are considered the foundation of all Yoga practice and Yoga psychology. People have been practicing Yoga for centuries in order to obtain the physical and psychological benefits that arise out of this discipline. Despite the increasing interest of contemporary Western psychology in the practice of Yoga, comparatively little has been written about its philosophical aspect. It is the purpose of this paper to make explicit theoretical points of Yoga's view about man and his life. Patan~jali assumed that man consists of two separate elements; Purus??a and Prakr??ti. The Purus??a is the pure and essential consciousness. Prakr??ti is the term used to designate everything else in the universe aside from the Purus??a, mainly the natural or material world. According to Patan~jali, the cause of all mental pain and anguish is avidya, lack of understanding the distinction between Purus??a and Prakr??ti. This wrong identification with man's material nature as opposed to one's Purus??a, that is Avidya ̄, should be removed by the right knowledge to obtain the absolute happiness and freedom free from all the pain and suffering. Hence the true goal of life is to escape from pain which are yet to come by means of destroying Avidya ̄. As the Avidya ̄ is the fundamental cause of other sufferings, one's whole life should be devoted to the effective and practical ways to root it out. The philosophical presuppositions of Patan~jali about man and man's life seems to be metaphysical and mystical, not deserving of serious scientific comment. But he deals with human sufferings and the practical means to overcome them in a systematic way. His theoretical assumptions helps us to gain an understanding of Yoga psychology's principles of mental health, psychological disturbance, and therapeutic change.

      • Studies on Neuropeptide in Olfactory Bulb and Olfactory Crotex, and its Regulatory Role on Reproduction

        hypothalamic GnRH neurons are originated from olfactory placode of embryo.They enter brain regions during embryonic development and are loosely distributed within hypothalamic area and other brain regions. In the adult animals, however, GnRH is yet not known to be locally expressed in the olfactory cortex. Therefore, present study initially aims to acertain whether GnRH mRNA in the rat brain with in situ hybridization histochemistry. Interestingly, GnRH mRNAs are highly concentrated in the olfactory cortex of brain. To further elucidate the nature of GnRH transcripts in the olfactory system involving olfactory cortex and bulbs, we employed Northern hybridization and PCR analysis. GnRH mRNA in the rat olfactory cortex and bulb is similar in size to that in hypothalamus. The size of PCR products of olfactory cortex and bulbs are same with that of hypothalamus. Therefore, we suggest that GnRH in the olfactory system is expressed through a similar machinery with hypothalamic GnRH.

        Analysis of the Fine-Scale Population Structure of “Candidatus Accumulibacter phosphatis” in Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal Sludge, Using Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization and Flow Cytometric Sorting

        <B>ABSTRACT</B><P>To investigate the fine-scale diversity of the polyphosphate-accumulating organisms (PAO) “<I>Candidatus</I> Accumulibacter phosphatis” (henceforth referred to as “<I>Ca.</I> Accumulibacter”), two laboratory-scale sequencing batch reactors (SBRs) for enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) were operated with sodium acetate as the sole carbon source. During SBR operations, activated sludge always contained morphologically different “<I>Ca</I>. Accumulibacter” strains showing typical EBPR performances, as confirmed by the combined technique of fluorescence <I>in situ</I> hybridization (FISH) and microautoradiography (MAR). Fragments of “<I>Ca.</I> Accumulibacter” 16S rRNA genes were retrieved from the sludge. Phylogenetic analyses together with sequences from the GenBank database showed that “<I>Ca.</I> Accumulibacter” 16S rRNA genes of the EBPR sludge were clearly differentiated into four “<I>Ca.</I> Accumulibacter” clades, Acc-SG1, Acc-SG2, Acc-SG3, and Acc-SG4. The specific FISH probes Acc444, Acc184, Acc72, and Acc119 targeting these clades and some helpers and competitors were designed by using the ARB program. Microbial characterization by FISH analysis using specific FISH probes also clearly indicated the presence of different “<I>Ca.</I> Accumulibacter” cell morphotypes. Especially, members of Acc-SG3, targeted by probe Acc72, were coccobacillus-shaped cells with a size of approximately 2 to 3 μm, while members of Acc-SG1, Acc-SG2, and Acc-SG4, targeted by Acc444, Acc184, and Acc119, respectively, were coccus-shaped cells approximately 1 μm in size. Subsequently, cells targeted by each FISH probe were sorted by use of a flow cytometer, and their polyphosphate kinase 1 (<I>ppk1</I>) gene homologs were amplified by using a <I>ppk1</I>-specific PCR primer set for “<I>Ca.</I> Accumulibacter.” The phylogenetic tree based on sequences of the <I>ppk1</I> gene homologs was basically congruent with that of the 16S rRNA genes, but members of Acc-SG3 with a distinct morphology comprised two different <I>ppk1</I> genes. These results suggest that “<I>Ca.</I> Accumulibacter” strains may be diverse physiologically and ecologically and represent distinct populations with genetically determined adaptations in EBPR systems.</P>

      • Ontogeny of Gonadotropin-releasing Hormone and Tyrosine Hydroxylase Neuronal Systems in Rat by Immunohistochemistry and In Situ Hybridization

        The ontogeny of gonadotropin-releasing hormone(GnRH) and tyrosine htdroylase(TH) neuronal system in rat was investigated by means of immunohistochemistry(IHC) and in situ hybridization(ISH). GnRH system which contains irGnRH first appeared in the nasal region at embryonic day (E) 11.5 and migrated caudally into the forebrain with increasing the frtal age. TH system was first detected at (E)11.5 in the undifferentiated mesenchymal cells and then found in the brain at the following developmental periods. Development and distribution of GnRH mRNA and TH mRNA containing cell bodies by ISH was well coincided with the data of ontogeny obtained by IHC. These data described above makes us to suggest that GnRH and TH containing cells are originally developed in the peripheral nervous system amd migrated and then, detected within the brain with increasing the fetal age.
