경상북도지역의 오염된 토양에서의 중금속 함량에 관한 곤충병원성 선충에 관한 연구

경상북도내의 금속광산, 공장 및 공업, 일반폐기물, 공단주거지역 및 특수 용수사용지역 등 360곳의 토양을 2001년 3월부터 10월까지 채취하여 토양 오염도를 조사하였다. 토양 오염도는 중금속인 카드뮴, 구리, 비소, 수은, 납 6가 크롬 및 시안의 7개 항목을 대상으로 하였으며, 그 중 각 항목에서 가장 오염도가 심한 5개 지점을 대상으로 토양내 곤충병원성 선충의 분포를 조사하였다. 토양내 선충은 누에를 이용하여 곤충병원성, 사물 기생성 선충을 대상으로 하였으며, white trap을 설치하여 선충을 분리하였다. 카드뮴 오염이 0.870ppm 이하인 지역에서 Rhabditida 목 선충 2과가 확인되었으며, 비소에 오염된 토양에서는 0.75ppm 이하에서 Rhabditidae 과 선충이 확인되었다. 6가 크롬은 0.05ppm이하인 토양에서 Cylindrocorpidae과 선충이 확인되었고, 납과 구리, 시안 오염 지역에서는 오염농도와 관계없이 Rhabditida 목 선충 2과가 검출되었다. 그러나, 시안에 오염된 토양과 토양오염우려기준을 초과한 토양에서는 선충이 검출되지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 오염지역내 선충의 분포 밀도는 매우 낮거나 존재하지 않는 것으로 확인되며 토양의 오염은 선충의 생존에 불리한 환경으로 작용하는 것으로 보인다. The variety and density of entomopathogenic nematodes from the polluted soils of heavy metals were examined. In order to investigate the pollution of heavy metals in soil, 360 sites in kyungsangbuk-do were collected from March to October in 2001. We measured the contents of seven heavy metal elements (Cd, Cu, As, Hg, Pb, Cr6+, CN) and than choosed soil of 25 sites with high concentration of heavy metals. The seven strains of nematodes were isolated from seven samples by silkworm host (Bonbyx mori mon`) and white trap. Isolated nematodes are composed of two families, one order. The members of Rhabditida were isolated in the soil with mean Cd content of 0.870 ppm. And they were isolated in the soil samples with As content less than 0.745 ppm. However they were isolated regardless of concentration of Cu and Pb. The members of Cylindrocorpidae were isolated in the soil samples with Cre+ content less than 0.05 ppm. Any entomopathogenic nematode was not detected in the CN polluted soil. Isolated nematodes successfully cultured on the silkworm host and were confirmed the pathogenicity, multiplicity, and tolerance against various condition of preservation. Which proved its potential usefulness as biological agent.

To evaluate job performance of occupational health personnel in workplace, we performed this study by two steps. First of all, we developed assessment tools of job performance and then surveyed job performance of occupational health personnel by a self administrative questionnaire. The questionnaires were mailed from July 24 to August 24 in 1996. Among the 350 workplaces where we mailed questionnaire, 125 occupational health personnel from 95 workplaces answered. The results were as follows. 1. The score of job performance of occupational health personnel was highest in administration, and then followed by health care, preventive health service, basic policy, and finally other services. 2. In basic policy, the majority of occupational health personnel planned annual health services. However they didn't consider workers' opinions enough when they planned their occupational health service(OHS). 3. In preventive health services, the score of worker management after health examinations was somewhat high, but emergency care training and the management of working conditions received lower scores. 4. Health care, emergency care and transportation, referrals of patients to clinics received high score. However, the score for treatment of occupational disease was lower than nonoccupational disease. 5. Nurses and occupational hygienist got higher scores in the administrative word comparing than doctors. 6. The occupational health personnel, except doctors, didn't participate well in the safety and health committee. This study shows that occupational health personnel should increase their activity in weaker areas of their jobs, especially in basic policy setting, recommendation to their employers and managers, management of working conditions and treatment of occupational disease in order to enhance the quality of occupational health service.

Background/Aims: The diagnosis of clonorchiasis is based on demonstrating eggs in stool or bile. It is believed that bile examination is the most precise method for detecting eggs. We evaluated diagnostic usefulness of intradermal test (IDT) by comparing it with the result of bile examination. Methods: For 88 patients with pancreatobiliary diseases, we examined Clonorchis sinensis eggs in bile and performed IDT for clonorchiasis. The bile was obtained from endoscopic nasobiliary or percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage tubes. Results: We calculated ROC curve to decide the cut-off value of IDT in determining diagnostic accuracy on the basis of bile examination. We chose a value of 40 mm2, which significantly improved the sensitivity, without reducing the specificity. With a cut-off value of 40 mm2, the sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values of IDT were 81.5%, 67.2%, 52.4%, and 89.1%, respectively. The value of IDT was not affected by age and showed no difference between benign and malignant diseases. However, in egg-positive patients, the mean value was lower in malignant diseases than in benign diseases. Conclusions: In patients with pancreatobiliary diseases, IDT with a cut-off value of 40 mm2 seems to be a valuable supplementary diagnostic test for clonorchiasis in view of its high sensitivity.
