        `Background : Pancreatoduodenectomy is a widely used technique in the treatment of periampullary, duodenal and cephalic pancreatic disease. Although many improvements have been made in operative technique and posmiddleerative care, pancreatoduodenectomy remains a technically difficult procedure attended by relatively high morbidity and mortality rates. Materials and methods : The hospital records of 51 patients who underwent pancreatoduodenectomy at the Chosun University Hospital between 1994 and 2001 were reviewed. Clinical data and the following morbidity and mortality were recorded The risk factors were analyzed by a Chi-square test. Results : Fifth decade was the most prevalent ages (43.1%) The mean age was 59 years (ranging from 29 to 78) and the male to female ratio was 26 to 1. The periampullary cancer was the most reason to operation (86%) and injury due to trauma, adenocarcinoma of stomach, colon cancer, chronic pancreatitis in order Posmiddleerative complications were developed in seventeen patients and anastomotic leakage was the most common complication Death within a month after operation was 3 (5.8%) and the one of the cause of death was leakage in two patients, the other cause was intraadbominal bleeding in one patients. The cardiovascular disease, pulomnary problem, diabetes, level of bilirubin were checked preoperatively and showed no statistical difference in the posmiddleerative morbidity. The other factors such as amount of bleeding, operation time were not influencing posmiddleerative complications. The occurrence of leakage in eight cases of drainage tuve inserted into the pancreaticojejunostomy site was not different from no tuve insertion statistically Conclusion: old age of the patients, diabetes mellitus and massive intraoperative hemorrhage are the risk factors influencing the results after pancreatoduodenectomy. Morbidity and mortality after pancreatoduodenctomy can be devreased if a prudent selection of paients is made and the operation is performed by accomplushed surgeon.

        The purpose of this paper is to investigate the growth and locational pattern producer service activities in Korean urban system. These issues are of considerable importance in the ongoing debate concerning the impact of the tertiarization of the economy on uneven spatial development I examine the performance and location of producer service activities over a set of all Korean cities wi拉 three time series, 1981, 1991 and 2000. Most of these activities are highly concentrated in a metro capital-city area including Seoul, Incheon and Kyunggi provinces and their level of concentration increased gradually over the period 1981-2000.

        전신성 홍반성 낭창 환자에서 Natural Killer 세포와 Natural Killer T 세포의 분포와 기능에 관한 연구

        목적 : T 세포 중 표지자인 NK1.1 단백을 표현하는 T 세포를 NKT 세포라고 한다. 이 NKT 세포의 기능에 대하여 정확하게 밝혀지지는 않았지만 최근 들어서 생체 내에서 면역학적 반응을 조절하는 기능을 지니고 있다고 알려지고, 이에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 저자들은 전신성 홍반성 낭창 (SLE)의 발병에 관여하는 NKT 세포의 면역조절기능을 알아보기 위해 말초 혈액 내 NK, NKT 세포의 분포와 외부자극에 대한 NKT 세포들의 기능을 평가하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 방법 : SLE 환자 22명과 정상 대조군 18명을 대상으로 NK 표지자 (CD56, CD94)와 T 세포 표지자 (CD3)를 이용한 유세포 분석을 통해 NK와 NKT 세포의 말초혈액 내 분포를 확인하고 이를 질환의 임상지표와 비교하였다. SLE 환자와 정상 대조군의 NKT 세포 기능은 PMA와 ionomycin 자극에 대한 NKT 세포 내의 cytokine (IL-4, IFN-γ)의 발현으로 비교하였다. 결과 : SLE 환자와 정상 대조군을 대상으로 말초혈액 내 NK 세포와 NKT 세포의 수적변화를 비교하였을 때 SLE 환자의 말초혈액 내 NK 세포 (CD3-/CD56+ 4.93±1.30%; CD3-/CD94+ 4.03±1.00%)는 정상 대조군 (CD3-/CD56+ 11.28±1.77%; CD3-/CD94+; 8.15±1.40%)에 비해 감소되어 있었으며 p<0.01), NKT 세포 또한 SLE군이 대조군에 비해 유의하게 감소되어 있었다 (CD3+/CD56+; 1.79±0.42 vs 5.04±0.44%: CD3+/CD94+; 1.21±0.27 vs 4.39±0.45%, p<0.01). NK 세포의 수적변화와 SLE 환자의 임상상과의 연관성을 분석하였을 때 항 ds-DNA 항체가의 증가, ESR의 증가와 C4의 감소와 유의한 연관성을 보였으나 (p<0.05), 신질환의 활동성과는 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 말초 혈액을 분리, 자극한 후 NK 및 NKT 세포 내 IL-4, IFN-γ를 측정하였을 때, 발현정도는 SLE 환자(n=6)와 정상 대조군(n=6) 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 결론 : SLE 환자에서 면역조절 세포의 일부인 NKT 세포의 수적인 감소는 NKT 세포가 SLE 병인에 밀접한 관계가 있음을 시사한다. 하지만 감소된 NKT 세포의 기능은 정상으로 유지되고 있는 점으로 보아 SLE 환자에서 NKT 세포의 기능적 결함보다는 NKT 세포의 단순한 수의 감소에 의한 면역조절능의 감소가 SLE의 병의 발병및 경과에 영향을 미칠 것으로 판단된다. Background : Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is one of chronic autoimmune diseases of which the central pathophysiologic derangement has not been yet established. Recently, it has been suggested that immune-regulatory cells might affect the development of autoimmune diseases such as SLE and RA. NKT cells were reported to be strong candidate for regulatory cells to regulate immune responses in vivo. To elucidate the roles of immune regulatory cells in the pathogenesis of SLE, we investigated the fractional distribution and functional status of NK and NKT cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of SLE patients and healthy volunteers. Methods : Twenty-two SLE patients and 18 agematched healthy volunteers were included in this study. The analysis for NK and NKT cells fraction in PBMCs of patients and normal controls were performed by flow cytometric analysis. In addition, to explore the functional status of these cells in SLE patients, we stimulated PBMCs using phorbol ester and ionomycin and measured cytoplasmic IL-4 and IFN-γ by flow cytometry. Results : The number (percentage) of NK cells was lower in SLE patients (CD3- CD56+ :4.93±1.30%, CD3-CD94+:4.03±1.00%) than in controls (11.28±1.77%, 8.15±1.40%; p<0.01, respectively). Peripheral NK cell numbers negatively correlated with antidsDNA Ab levels (r=0.431, p<0.05) and ESR (r=-0.475, p,0.05). However, the percentage of these cells was not correlated with renal activity or corticosteroid doses. SLE patients showed, compared with controls, significantly decreased numbers of NKT cells (CD3+CD56+ :1.79±0.42% vs 5.04±0.44%, CD3+CD94+ :1.21±0.27% vs 4.39±0.45%; p<0.01, respectively). The cytoplasmic expression of IL-4 and IFN-γ in NK and NKT cells of SLE patients stimulated using phorbol ester and ionomycin were almost sililar to those of normal controls, suggesting the NKT cells from SLE patients are functionally intact. Conclusion : Our results suggested that the decreased numbers of immune regulatory cells were associated with the immune dysregulation of SLE patients. The cellular replacement of NKT cells may be one of useful therapeutic approaches for autoimmune diseases such as SLE.

        HFCVD 증착 온도 변화에 따른 단결정 다이아몬드 표면 형상 및 성장률 변화

        Following Silicon Carbide, single crystal diamond continues to attract attention as a next-generation semiconductor substrate material. In addition to excellent physical properties, large area and productivity are very important for semiconductor substrate materials. Research on the increase in area and productivity of single crystal diamonds has been carried out using various devices such as HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) and MPECVD (Microwave Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition). We hit the limits of growth rate and internal defects. However, HFCVD (Hot Filament Chemical Vapor Deposition) can be replaced due to the previous problem. In this study, HFCVD confirmed the distance between the substrate and the filament, the accompanying growth rate, the surface shape, and the Raman shift of the substrate after vapor deposition according to the vapor deposition temperature change. As a result, it was confirmed that the difference in the growth rate of the single crystal substrate due to the change in the vapor deposition temperature was gained up to 5 times, and that as the vapor deposition temperature increased, a large amount of polycrystalline diamond tended to be generated on the surface.

        은도금 중공미세구를 이용한 경량 전파흡수체의 제조

        Conductive microspheres with a density of 0.2 g/cc were fabricated by electroless silver plating for application to the light-weighted microwave absorbers. The silver plating was conducted with the variation of plating conditions (sensitizing condition, $AgNO_3$, concentration, amount of reducing agent). Specimens have very low electro-resistivity. Under an optimum processing condition, conductive microspheres with uniform silver plating layer can be produced. Rubber-sphere composites were fabricated and their microwave absorbing properties were measured by HP8722D Network Analyzer. It was found that the lower the electrical resistance of microsphere, the better the microwave absorbing properties. Feasibility of microwave absorbers using this microspheres can be demonstrated with the result of microwave reflection loss of -15 dB and thickness of 1.44 mm.

      • Mutations in gyrA and gyrB among Drug Resistant Mycobacterium Tuberculosis in Korea

        Purpose In 2020 KATRD, we analyzed 65 isolates to see how gyrA and gyrB are associated with 7H9 broth microdilution method (BMD) and Lowenstein-Jensen (L-J) drug susceptibility test (DST) because fluoroquinolones (FLQ) have been recognized as important anti-TB agents. In this study, the aim is to evaluate the correlation between gyrA and gyrB mutations and resistance to FLQ with BMD and L-J DST as a follow up of the previous study. Method Since 2020, we have analyzed 304 INH or RIF mono resistant cases by molecular DST using sequencing for gyrA and gyrB genes of FLQ. MICs were measured by BMD for moxifloxacin (MFX, 0.0625~8.0 μg/mL) and levofloxacin (LFX, 0.0625~8.0 μg/ mL). In L-J DST, concentration of MFX was 1.0 μg/mL, 2.0 μg/mL and LFX was 2.0 μg/mL. Results In gyrA and gyrB sequencing, 270 strains (88.81%) were wild type (WT), 34 strains (11.18%) were mutant type (MT). Among 29 gyrA MT strains, 13 isolates (44.82%) had mutation at D94G, 7 isolates (24.14%) at A90V and 5 isolates (17.24%) at D94A. Among 5 gyrB MT strains, 2 isolates (40%) had D500N mutation. In L-J DST, 100% of gyrA MT strains were resistant to MFX. On the other hand gyrB MT strains, 60% to MFX and 40% to LFX were resistant. In BMD, 93.10% of gyrA MT strains ranged 0.5 ~ 4.0 μg/mL and 60% of gyrB MT strains ranged 0.5 ~ 4.0 μg/mL to MFX. Meanwhile 96.55% of gyrA MT strains ranged 1.0 ~ 8.0 μg/mL and 80% of gyrB MT strains ranged 1.0 ~ 8.0 μg/mL to LFX. Conclusions Most of the mutant isolates had mutations in gyrA and most of mutant type (38.23%) was gyrA_D94G (GAC/GGC). In this study we observed gyrA genes were associated with higher MICs based on 7H9 and L-J DST than gyrB genes. # No.2021R1F1A1061358

        티오요소를 이용한 삼조광업 정광으로부터 은 용출 최적화

        티오요소를 사용하여 삼조광업 정광으로부터 온을 친환경적으로 용출시키고자 하였다. 상조광산의 광석은 황철석, 황동석, 방연석, 유비철석, 섬아연석 등과 같은 광석광물들로 구성되어 있다. 티오요소 용출실험에는 750℃에서 소성시킨 소성정광을 사용하였다. 다양한 실험조건으로 용출실험을 수행한 결과, 본 실험 조건 중 가장 높은 은 용출율이 나타나는 조건 중 가장 높은 은 용출율이 나타나는 조건은 티오요소 농도 0.8 g일 때, 황산 제2철 0.425 g일 때, 그리고 용출온도 60℃일 때였다. 광액농도 10%일 때 은 용출율 91.5%를 얻었다. 그러나 고체 잔유물에 대해서 XRD 분석을 수행한 결과, 은 용출율이 사장 높은 고체 잔유물들에서 황철석, 방연석, 적철석 등이 나타났다. 이러한 결과가 미루어 볼 때 고체 잔유물에 포함된 은은 회수하지 못하고 소실된 것으로 예상된다. This study was carried out to test the possibility of using an environmentally friendly method of leaching silver concentrate from the Samjo mine. The Samjo mine ore contained minerals such as pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena, arsenopyrite, and sphalerite. The concentrate samples tested with the thiourea solution were roasted at 750℃. The results of different experimental conditions showed that the highest silver leaching rate was obtained when the concentration of thiourea was at 0.8 g with ferric sulfate at 0.425 g and the leaching temperature at 60℃. The Ag leaching rate obtained was 91.5% at a pulp density of 10%. However, in the XRD analysis, peaks of pyrite, galena, and hematite were still found in the leached solid residues in which the Ag leaching rate was the highest, it is expected that the unrecovered silver in the solid residue can be lost.

        A guide to phylotranscriptomic analysis for phycologists

        Phylotranscriptomics is the study of phylogenetic relationships among taxa based on their DNA sequences derived from transcriptomes. Because of the relatively low cost of transcriptome sequencing compared with genome sequencing and the fact that phylotranscriptomics is almost as reliable as phylogenomics, the phylotranscriptomic analysis has recently emerged as the preferred method for studying evolutionary biology. However, it is challenging to perform transcriptomic and phylogenetic analyses together without programming expertise. This study presents a protocol for phylotranscriptomic analysis to aid marine biologists unfamiliar with UNIX command-line interface and bioinformatics tools. Here, we used transcriptomes to reconstruct a molecular phylogeny of dinoflagellate protists, a diverse and globally abundant group of marine plankton organisms whose large and complex genomic sequences have impeded conventional phylogenic analysis based on genomic data. We hope that our proposed protocol may serve as practical and helpful information for the training and education of novice phycologists.
