ZnO:AI 과 ITO 투명전도막을 이용한 플랙시블 DSCs의 변환효율 특성

In order to investigate the possible application of ZnO films as a transparent conducting oxide (TCO) electrode for film-typed dye sensitized solar cell(F-DSC), ZnO:Al films were prepared by RF magnetron sputtering method. The effects of gas pressure on the structural and electrical properties of ZnO films were mainly studied experimentally. F-DSC using either a ZnO:Al or indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode were also fabricated separately under the same manufacturing conditions. The electro-optical conversion efficiency and fill factor of the F-DSCs using both ZnO:Al and ITO transparent conducting electrodes were measured and compared with each other. ZnO:Al films showed the minimum resistivity of 2.6 x10^(-3)Ω-cm and a transmittance of 91.7% under the experimental conditions of doping concentration of 2 wt% of Al₂0₃ and gas pressure of 5mTorr. ITO films fabricated at 5mTorr of gas pressure also showed the minimum resistivity of 1.5x10^(-3)Ω-cm and transmittance of 92.1%. Although the electrical resistivity of ZnO:Al is higher than that of ITO, the conversion efficiency of F-DSC using ZnO:Al was comparable with that of F-DSC using ITO. The conversion efficiency of F-DSCs using ZnO:Al and ITO electrodes are about 2.8% and 2.9%, respectively.

In this paper, we studied the method of electrets electrode which formed to accumulate negative electric charges by corona discharges. The breakdown voltage samples and damaged samples by various corona discharges have made material stabilization and improved characteristics of electric charge storage throughout the annealing processes. After the experiment made material stabilization nearly melting point by many kinds of annealing conditions, we did the corona discharge again by the charged high voltages, a discharge electrode gap, and a discharged time. As we compared it with the best condition, we confirmed that characteristics of electric charge storages were improved.

Nine cattle among 18 in a native Korean herd died or were euthanized within 3 days. The affected cattle showed cowshed. The pigs and dogs had been fed leftover food originating from nearby restaurants, and the cattle could presumably reach the contaminated food in the pig troughs. Necropsy revealed a few chicken bones and red pepper pieces as well as large amounts of grain and rice straw hay mixed in the rumen. Botulism type D was isolated in the ruminal contents of one of the cattle. We speculated that the outbreak was associated with the cattle incidentally eating presumably contaminated leftover food from the pig trough.

<P>We examined whether 8-(tosylamino)quinoline (8-TQ), a structural analogue of BAY 11-7082, is able to modulate various tumourigenic responses using various in vitro and in vivo experimental conditions. 8-TQ exhibited the strongest suppressive activity on the proliferation of C6, A431, HeLa and MDA-MB-231 cells with IC550 values ranging from 10 to 30 microM. According to the analysis of level of active caspase-3, and morphologies of C6, HeLa and MDA-MB-231 cells, it was revealed that 8-TQ is able to induce apoptosis. Furthermore, this compound strongly diminished the invasion of MDA-MB-231 cells, the migration of HeLa cells, and the new generation of blood vessels under non-toxic conditions. Reduction of the phospho-form levels of intracellular signalling enzymes by 8-TQ strongly indicated that molecular signalling machineries composed of phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/phosphoinositide-dependent kinase-1 (PDK1)/Akt and extracellular-signal-regulated kinase (ERK) could be targeted by 8-TQ treatment. Indeed, the specific inhibitors (LY294002 and U0126) of PI3K/PDK1/Akt and ERK showed similar anti-cancer properties to 8-TQ. Finally, 8-TQ intraperitoneally injected suppressed the increase of tumour volume up to 40% compared to vehicle-treated control. Taken together, our results clearly suggest that 8-TQ might have applications as a novel anti-cancer drug or may be served as a lead compound to be further optimized.</P>

Background: The remarkable efficacy of osimertinib in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with acquired T790M mutation has been widely documented in clinical trials and real-world practice. However, some patients show primary resistance to this drug. Even patients who initially show a favorable response have inconsistent clinical outcomes later. Therefore, the aim of this study was to identify additional clinical predictive factors for osimertinib efficacy. Methods: A prospective cohort of patients with acquired T790M positive stage IV lung adenocarcinoma treated with osimertinib salvage therapy in Hallym University Medical Center were analyzed. Results: Sixty-one eligible patients were analyzed, including 38 (62%) women and 39 (64%) who never smoked. Their mean age was 63.3 years. The median follow-up after treatment with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) was 36.0 months (interquartile range, 24.7-50.2 months). The majority (n=45, 74%) of patients were deceased. Based on univariate analysis, low baseline neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratios (NLR), age ≥50 years, neversmoking history, stage IVA at osimertinib initiation, and prolonged response to previous TKIs (≥10 months) were associated with a significantly longer progression-free survival (PFS). Multivariate analysis showed that never-smoking status (hazard ratio [HR], 0.54; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.30-0.98; p=0.041) and a baseline NLR less than or equal to 3.5 (HR, 0.23; 95% CI, 0.12-0.45; p<0.001) were independently associated with a prolonged PFS with osimertinib. Conclusion: Smoking history and high NLR were independent negative predictors of osimertinib PFS in patients with advanced NSCLC developing EGFR T790M resistance after the initial EGFR-TKI treatment.
Prevalence of Depression and Its Associated Factors in Bronchiectasis: Findings from KMBARC Registry

Background With the emergence of bronchiectasis as a common respiratory disease, epidemiological data have accumulated. However, the prevalence and impact of psychological comorbidities were not sufficiently evaluated. The present study examined the prevalence of depression and its associated factors in patients with bronchiectasis. Methods This study involved a multicenter cohort of bronchiectasis patients recruited from 33 pulmonary specialist hospitals. The baseline characteristics and bronchiectasis-related factors at enrollment were analyzed. Depressive symptoms were assessed using the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9). Results Of the 810 patients enrolled in the study, 168 (20.7%) patients had relevant depression (PHQ-9 score ≥ 10), and only 20 (11.9%) patients had a diagnostic history of depression. Significant differences were noted in the depressive symptoms with disease severity, which was assessed using the Bronchiectasis Severity Index and E-FACED (all p <0.001). Depressive symptoms inversely correlated with quality-of-life (r = - 0.704, p <0.001) and positively correlated with fatigue severity score (r = 0.712, p <0.001). Multivariate analysis showed that depression was significantly associated with the modified Medical Research Council dyspnea scale ≥ 2 (OR 2.960, 95% CI: 1.907-4.588, p = <0.001) and high number of exacerbations (≥ 3) in the previous year (OR 1.596, 95% CI: 1.012-2.482, p = 0.041). Conclusions Depression is common, but its association with bronchiectasis was underrecognized. It negatively affected quality-of-life and presented with fatigue symptoms. Among the bronchiectasis-related factors, dyspnea and exacerbation were closely associated with depression. Therefore, active screening for depression is necessary to optimize the treatment of bronchiectasis.
Multicentric T cell lymphoma in a Maltese dog

A case of multicentric high grade T cell lymphoma is reported in a 5-year-old male Maltese dog with generalized lymphadenopathy. The dog showed depression, anorexia, blindness, jaundice, arrhythmia, and hematuria for 8 months. Complete blood count and chemistry profile revealed anemia and increased alanine transferase, alkaline phosphatase, total bilirubin, and total cholesterol. Grossly, most of lymph nodes, spleen, and liver were enlarged and neoplastic masses were occupied in these tissues. Histologically, massive accumulation of small noncleaved neoplastic lymphocytes with high mitotic figures was observed in all lymph nodes and spleen. Infiltration of neoplastic lymphocytes was also noted in the lung, liver, kidney, eye, skin, muscle, and bone marrow of femur. Immunohistochemistry revealed that tumor cells were CD3-positive and but CD79a-negative, consistent with T-cell lineage. In our best knowledge, this is the first report of multicentric lymphoma clarified the origin of tumor cells in Korea.
