Scoparone is a major component of the shoot of Artemisia capillaris (Compositae), which has been used for the treatment of hepatitis and biliary tract infection in oriental countries. In the present study we observed that, scorparone exhibited no cytotoxic effect in unstimulated macrophages, but reduced the release of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin $E_2\;(PGE_2)$ upon stimulation by IFN-${\gamma}$/LPS or LPS. The inhibitory effects were found to be in conjuction with the suppression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in IFN-${\gamma}$/LPS stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Moreover, scoparone also attenuated the production of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$, interleukin (IL)-$1{\beta}$ and IL-6 in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. These results suggest that scoparone decreases the production of the inflammatory mediators such as NO and $PGE_2$ in macrophages by inhibiting iNOS and COX-2 expression.

충전상황을 고려한 보부재의 전단거동에 관한 실험적 연구

This paper presents the shear behavior of high performance concrete beams having different concrete filling conditions. Six tests were conducted on full-scale beam specimens with design parameters(concrete compressive strength, tensile rebar ratio and concrete filling conditions). Different concrete filling conditions were intentionally made such that the first type specimen was soundly cast to obtain the perfect concrete filling condition. Second type specimen was cast in such a way that up to the longitudinal tensile reinforcement from the top, good concrete was filled while poor concrete was poured for the bottom part to simulate the poor workmanship, workability and unsatisfactory compaction. Third type specimens was cast in such a way that up to the neutral axis of the beam section from the top, good concrete was filled while so did for the bottom part as the second type specimen. The test results were analyzed in terms of load-displacement response, failure pattern, and reserved shear capacity. The have no effect of concrete filling conditions on the ultimate strength of structures. But, the have a great influence of concrete filling conditions on the total reserved shear force and ductile of structures.

Body temperature is controlled by thermoregulatory center of the hypothalamus. We report a case of 24 years old man with central fever. He was subjected to a partial excision of pituitary tumor compressing optic chiasm four years ago. He has received hormonal therapy for panhypothyroidism after removal of pituitary tumor. And He received gamma knife operation for partially contrast-enhancing masses in suprasellar and both hypothalamic areas that is probably postoperatively remnant or recurrent tumor of pituitary adenoma. One year after gamma knife operation, he presented with a febrile syndrome of unknown origin including rhabdomyolysis. All usual investigations proved negative. We diagnosed him as central fever with rhabdomyolysis. He received medical ICU care with cooling bed, ice pack. And his symptom improved. Postoperative hyperthermia may result following resection of the pituitary tumor. When central fever is suspected taking note of past history, a quick recognition of course of fever can help reduce the using of unnecessary antibiotics and hospital stay.

For the unconfined vapor cloud explosion(UVCE) accident by the continuous release of gas-liquid flow of various saturated liquids in a vessel at ground level, overpressures were estimated by TNT equivalency model with two estimation methods, such as UVCE Ⅰ model based on a constant release time and UVCEⅡ model based on a real travel time of vapor by dispersion and analyzed with various release conditions. As a simulation result, the simple, easy, and correct method of evaluation of consequences of the UVCE accident was proposed by using consequences of UVCEⅠ model and correlation equations for differences of overpressures between UVCE models, so that this evaluation method could be used easily in the small and medium size enterprises without using the dispersion model.

The runaway reaction was analyzed experimently and theoretically at the batch styrene suspension polymerization process. In the experiments, the reaction temperature with time was measured at various experimental conditions. According to the experimental results, the risk of the runaway reaction was increased with increasing the ratio of the monomer(styrene, M) to the dispersion medium(water, W), the concentration of the initiator(BPO), and the monomer mass, respectively. And simulation results showed that the runaway reaction was significantly affected by the reaction rate constant of the propagation and that the phenomena of the runaway reaction occurred at about 70% conversion. Also, we found that the runaway reaction did not occur under the operation condition of below 0.5 for M/W, approximate 3 wt% BPO, and below 75℃ for the cooling temperature.
예도(銳刀)의 미시사적 관점으로 바라본 무예실제에 관한 분석

예도(銳刀)에 관한 보다 정확한 고찰은 오늘날 전통무예단체들이 『武藝圖譜通志』를 통한 전통무예의 실제를 복원 및 재현함에 있어 크나큰 도움이 될 것이다. 이는 예도(銳刀)가 전통무예사에 대한 단초적 역할을 제공할 수 있는 초석이 될 수 있기 때문이다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 예도의 설(說: 해설(解說))과 기(技: 기예(技藝))의 형식적 분석과 전통무예의 복원에 관한 이론적 배경을 정립하기 위하여 고서와 도록 등의 다양한 자료를 검토‧분석하였는데 이는 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 예도(銳刀)의 종합적 분석을 통한 예도의 형식은 병기도식(兵器圖式)․설(設) 11개․예도보(銳刀譜)․예도총보(銳刀總譜)와 예도총도(銳刀總圖)로 구성되어 있음을 알았다. 둘째, 예도는 본국검과 더불어 조선을 대표하는 한국 고유의 전통검법으로 임진왜란을 계기로 새롭게 발굴 정립되었으며 정조가 재위했던 1800년대까지 약 200년 걸쳐 전승되면서 민족의 재산과 생명을 지켜왔던 국방무예(24반 무예)였다. 셋째, 국난을 극복하고 국토를 수호하려는 선조들의 의지로 완성된 24반 무예 속에 녹아 든 활달한 몸짓 속에는 민족자존의 의지와 불굴에 투혼이 배어 있다. 이와 같이 오늘날 한․중․일의 칼 쓰는 법을 비교해 볼 때, 『武藝圖譜通志』의 예도가 갖는 의미와 가치는 대단히 귀중하다 할 수 있겠다. 이상과 같이 종합해 볼 때, 앞으로 이 한국무예 예도(銳刀)에 관한 심도 있는 연구가 이루어질 때 비로소 예도(銳刀)가 세계적인 보편무예로 발전하는 중요한 기반이 될 것으로 기대하는 바이다.
