폐동맥 혈전색전증은 비교적 드문 질환으로 주로 심부 정맥혈전에서 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있으며 류마티스성 심장판막질환을 가진 경우 합병되는 우심방 혈전이 드물게 폐혈전색전증의 원인이 될 수 있는데, 저자들은 대동맥의 동맥경화성 협착증을 동반한 류마티스성 심판막질환 환자에서 우심부전 및 우심방혈전에서 발생한 만성 혈전색전성 폐동맥고혈압1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Most pulmonary thromboemboli arise from the deep vein thrombosis, which have complete clinical and at least near complete roentgenographic and angiographic resolution within four to six week of the acute event. But chronic pulmonary hypertension and cor pulmonale from unresolved pulmonary embo-lism complicate acute embolic episode with a frequency of less than 1 percent. Rarely pulmo-nary thromboemboli can result from right atrial thrombi. We experienced a case of chronic thromoboembolic pulmonary hypertension, which wrose from right atrial thrombi in the patient with rheumatic valvaular heart disease and thoracic aorta atherosclerotics stenosis.

The purpose of this study is designed to estimate the air quality of subway stations that have the underground platforms in Pusan Metropolitan City, from September to November 2000, over seventimes. The subjects include Yonsan-dong station, Somyon station, Pusan station, Nampo-dong station, and Tushil station. The samplings were conducted at three points of each station, i.e. gate, ticket gates, and platforms. The major materials for analysis were CO, NO, NO_2, and O_3. The experiment was conducted at 7:00 pm with KIMOTO HS-seven Handy sampler and Tedlar Bag of SKC INC(U.S.A). In order to more fully understand station environments, we also measured temperature at each point. The results showed that O_3 average concentration at Yonsan-dong station was higher than others with 38~51 ppb. The average concentration of NO was high at ticket gate and platform at Somyon station(119 ppb, 122 ppb), Nampo-dong station(102 ppb, 100 ppb). These results show that the air pollution of stations with underground shopping malls was higher than others. At Somyon station having a junction station, NO and NO_2 concentration level of platform-2(noncrowded) was higher than platform-1(crowded). This is most likely due to the accumulation of air pollutants and inadequate ventilation systems.
HPLC를 이용한 고추의 품종별 Capsaicin 및 Dihydrocapsaicin 성분의 함량 분석

Five kinds of Korean red pepper-pinkish, perfect, cucumber, blue, and ground cherry-were used, respectively, to analyze the contents of Capsaicin and Dihydrocapsaicin. The comparative analysis was performed separately in the seed removed red pepper and the seed included red pepper by HPLC. Among the seed removed pepper, the results for the content of Capsaicin were shown as follows: ground cherry(2204.0ppm) > pinkish(1324.9ppm) > blue(906.7ppm) > cucumber (77.2ppm) > perfect(12.9ppm), and the results for the content of Dihydrocapsaicin were shown as follows: ground cherry (1004.8ppm) > pinkish(248.3ppm) > blue(165.7ppm) > cucumber(13.9ppm) > perfect(0.0ppm). Among the seed included red pepper, the results for the content of Capsaicin were shown as follows: ground cherry(2190.lppm) > pinkish(1324.4ppm) > blue (919.9ppm) > cucumber(79.5ppm) > perfect(11.7ppm), and the results for the content of Dihydrocapsaicin were shown as follows: ground cherry(1017.4ppm) > pinkish(270.6ppm) > blue(189.0ppm) > cucumber(39.4ppm) > perfect(0.0ppm). Overall results suggest that in the contents of Capsaicin and Dihydrocapsaicin, the seed removed pepper and the seed included red pepper both were decreased in the order of ground cherry > pinkish > blue > cucumber > perfect, and this order is proportional to the strength of hot taste of red pepper.

In external image of person, face image is given a great deal of weight on the total personal appearance. Especially hairstyle have immediate connection with face image. The purpose of this paper was to analyze the face image by the types of hairstyle and the shapes of face. Three factors(facial shape, hair length, curl) were considered. Facial images were evaluated by the twenty adjective words on a Likert scale. Two subjects(a oblong face, a round face) were selected as female students of Wonkwang University. The results are as follows; 1. Five factors on the face image were extracted from twenty items ; femininity, urbanity, individuality, cuteness, intelligence. 2. In the face type, round face was explained by the softness, feminine, innocent image than oblong. 3. In the hair length, long hair was explained by the softness, natural, lovely image than short hair. 4. In the curl or straight, straight was explained by the vigorous, activity, youthful image than curl.

Analytical methods for detecting atranol, chloroatranol, evernic acid, (+)-usnic acid, and atranorin in sanitary napkins and mouthwashes were developed using ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS). UHPLC-MS/MS conditions were optimized for rapid, sensitive, and simultaneous analysis of the five allergenic compounds. The methods were validated by assessing their specificity, matrix effects, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), linearity, accuracy, and precision. Good linearity was achieved with a determination coefficient of ≥0.99. The LOD and LOQ were 2.1-9.8 and 6.4-29.6 ng/g for sanitary napkins and 0.29-0.48 and 0.87-1.45 ng/mL for mouthwashes, respectively. The accuracy and precision were within an acceptable range according to the criteria reported in the European SANTE/11813/2017 guidelines (70-120 % recovery, <20 % relative standard deviation). Therefore, these methods can be used to analyze atranol, chloroatranol, evernic acid, (+)-usnic acid, and atranorin in sanitary napkins and mouthwashes.
The Effect of Acteoside on Histamine Release and Arachidonic Acid Release in RBL-2H3 Mast Cells

The effect of acteoside, a phenylpropanoid glycoside isolated from Clerodendron trichotomum Thunberg, on histamine and arachidonic acid release was investigated in RBL 2H3 cells. Histamine was dose-dependently released from RBL 2H3 cells by melittin, arachidonic acid and thapsigargin. In extracellular $Ca^{2+}-free$ solution, basal secretion of histamins increased by two fold. The response of histamine release to melittin and thapsigargin in $Ca^{2+}-free$ solution was significantly decreased, whereas the response to arachidonic acid was significantly increased as compared with those in normal solution. Acteoside inhibited histamine release induced by melittin, arachidonic acid and thapsigargin in a dose-dependent manner in the presence or absence of extracellular $Ca^{2+}$. However, the inhibitory activity of acteoside was more potent in normal solution than that in $Ca^{2+}-free$ solution. These data suggest that inhibitory mechanism of acteoside on histamine release may be related to extracellular $Ca^{2+}$. On the other hand, acteoside significantly inhibited arachidonic acid release and prostaglandin $E_2$ production Induced by $0.5\;{\mu}M$ melittin. It is possible that acteoside may be developed as an anti-inflammatory agent.
Case Report : Necrotizing ruptured vaginal leiomyoma mimicking a malignant neoplasm

Leiomyomas are common benign uterine tumors. However, the incidence of vaginal myoma is very rare and may be confused with a variety of vaginal tumors. We report a case of 43-year-old nulligravida who presented with a protruding painful vaginal mass for 7 days. The mass had initially appeared 3 years prior, as 2 to 3 cm that had not subsequently increased. However suddenly, there was rapid severe enlargement over the course of 7 days. Physical exam revealed a monstrous shaped, black color with focal necrosis, odorous protruding vaginal mass about 7 cm in size. The vaginal mass was infected and degenerated. And vaginal wall was also destroyed by the enlarged mass. Because of the clinical features and radiologic findings, the preoperative diagnosis was a vaginal malignancy. We reported an extremely rare case of vaginal myoma that had several characteristics of malignancy, with a brief review of the literature.
