        Objectives : Acupuncture is expected to have somewhat like the efficacy parallel increasing activity of immune system in Western modern medicine. There, already, are many animal researches on activating effect of acupuncture for the immune system in peripheral organs. So, we carried out this experiment to see whether acupuncture has controlling effect on interleukin-6(IL-6) activity in rat's brain. Methods and Results : We had topical application of IL-6(1U-1pg, 10㎕) on brain of rat. It reduced afferent sensory transmission to the primary somatosensory(SI) cortex from periphery. Whereas, electrical stimulation(ES, 2Hz, 1.5V, 15min) of ST36(足三里) with application of IL-6 prominently activated afferent sensory transmission. ES of non-acupoint(proximal tail) with IL-6 showed suppression of afferent transmission. ES of ST36 without IL-6 application also exerted facilitation of afferent transmission to the SI cortex. Conclusions : Electoacupuncture(EA) on ST36 has noticeable influences on modulating activation of IL-6 in central nervous system, which do major role in immune system.

      • FIDIC 계약조건과 국내계약조건의 클레임 관련조항 비교 연구

        본 연구는 건설시장 개방에 따른 표준계약조건을 정립하기 위해 FIDIC 제정 계약조건과 국내에서 계약조건으로 적용되는 관련법규의 내용을 문헌조사를 통해 비교ㆍ검토하였다. 국내계약조건은 공사관련 사항을 여러 법규에 산발적으로 규정하고 있어 비정형성을 보이고 있으며, 책임기준 또한 모호하며, FIDIC 조건과의 비교분석에서 알수 있듯이 세부적ㅇ니 면에서 많은 차이점을 보이고 있어 클레임의 발생가능성이 높음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 클레임과 분쟁의 처리절차에 있어서 국내계약조건은 클레임의 제기, 감리자의 책임과 권한, 클레임의 유효성 기준, 클레임의 처리절차에 대한 규정이 미비한 실정임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 FIDC 계약조건의 분석을 통하여 시공자가 제기할 수 있는 클레임 사항을 본 연구에서는 제시하고 있다. IN this study, with a purpose to establish the standard construction contract conditions, the FIDIC conditions of contract and the corresponding legal systems from the various domestic laws and regulations, used as the construction conditions, were compared. The study shows problems such as inconsistence and atypicality between current provisions and FIDIC contract. The possibility of claim occurrence in Korea construction market is significant. Through a comparison of domestic and foreign construction contract, the study presents that domestic contracts don't have provisions about procedure of submission, engineer's responsibility and authority, and effective procedure of claims. The study also presents technical considerations under the FIDIC Contract by Employer and Contractor.

      • 미분말 고로슬래그를 사용한 콘크리트의 강도특성

        The objective of this study is to find the strength properties of concrete using blast furnace slag. Its mechanical strength properties investigated include compressive strength, flexural strength, and tensile strength. The main experimental variables were cement type, coarse aggregate size(19,25mm), and water/cement ratio(28. 32, 36%). The principal results obtained from this study are as follows ; it was possible to obtain the compressive strength of 500∼700kg/㎠ concrete by using the blast furnace slag. Therefore, blast furnace slag was proved to be superior to ordinary portland cement in manufacturing the high strength concrete with the same mix conditions. In the near future, concrete using blast furnace slag is expected to be practically used in the field.

        지방척수수막류 14례의 임상 분석 : Clinical Analysis of 14 Cases

        Lipomyelomeningocele is the most common malformation leading to spinal cord tethering. Nonetheless, these lesion continues to pose a challenge in patient management. The purpose of this study was to identify the clinical feature, candidate for surgical repair, and outcome of lipomyelomeningocele in young children and adults. We studied the magnetic resonance images and/or lumbar myelo-CT of lipomyelomeningocele performed between January 1987 and September 1995 at our institutions and reviewed the pertinent medical records and radiologic studies to determine clinical feature, surgical candidate, and outcomes of these patients. Of the 14 cases(11 female and 3 males) studied, the most common factor that caused these patients to seek help was the cosmetic effect of the mass on their back, followed by urinary incontinence, and weakness of lower extremities. The patients' age ranged from 2 months to 21 years(mean, 5.0 years). All the patients underwent immediate surgical management that consisted of removal of lipoma, untethering of the cord, and complete dural sac repair. Follow up for these patients ranged from 6 to 82 months(median, 54 mo). None of the patients that underwent surgical correction before the emergence of neurological deficit had ever developed neurological deficits at the end of the follow up. However a few of the patients, despite presented with neurological deficits or urinary incontinence at the time of surgery, improved significantly. In conclusion, early detection and prophylactic surgery is imperative to prevent permanent neurological deficits and urinary dysfunction.

        In this paper. The APBS(Adaptive Partition Buffer Sharing)scheme in ATM network were performance evaluation. we assume that each priority cells are generated with arrival rates λ_(H). λ_(M) and λ_(L) according to Poisson distribution and service is processed with mean service rate μ . The results, APBS scheme can not only guarantee the quality of services for high priority cells but also adaptively service low priority cells according to current buffer state. Therefore, our APBS scheme can improve the quality of service and efficiently utilize the resource of networks.

      • 영상 감시 시스템에서의 개선된 Tearing 현상 방지 디스플레이 시스템

        In display systems employing an analog monitor, the tearing artifact such that an window screen is divided into two parts showing different scenes can occur when the change of scenes in the moving pictures is very fast, but the frame buffer's refresh rate does not match the monitor's scanning frequency. In the DVR system, a recently popularized visual monitoring system, the tearing artifacts becomes more serious since the frame buffer's refresh rate is vey high due to the requirement of multi-channel display. In this paper, we propose an improved display system for windows-based DVR systems which prevents the tearing artifacts without daterioration of display speed perfromance. The efficiency of the proposed display system is verfied through experiments.

      • 축류 송풍기의 표준 제품 선정 자동화 시스템 구축

        This paper presents the development of automation procedure for the selection of axial-flow fan satisfying given requirements. Due to the variety of customers' requirements, most of axial-flow fan manufacturers produce fans of a wide range of dimensions and corresponding performance test results which often build up to a great amount, in general as the form of documents and tables. Whenever a requirement is given, manufacturers have to examine all the test results repeatedly to select the most appropriate dimension of the fan to produce and deliver. Even with small amount of the data, the procedure of fan selection is very tedious and troublesome, even erroneous. Hence, the automation of the fan selection procedure is of importance to increase the efficiency both in production and business. This paper describes the algorithm of automatic fan selection procedure and development of user-friendly programs. All the test data are formulated into several standard equations in least square sense, and accumulated in a database using Microsoft Access. Once a customer's requirement is placed, the program seeks for appropriate fans using SQL and proposes several fan dimensions to user both in tabulated and graphic form. With the developed automatic selection system for standard axial-flow fan, it is expected that work efficiency is increased, cost is reduced and technical sales is highly efficient.

      • 상악동 후비공 용종에서 줄기의 경로에 따른 상악동구 전산화단층촬영 소견

        Purpose: We evaluate the pathway of the stalk of antrochoanal polyp on the coronal and axial computed tomography scans (CT), comparing with operative findings. Materials and Methods: Fourteen patients (7∼40 years old, median= 12.5 years old, ratio of male to female: 8/6) with antrochoanal polyp were examined, who took the orbitomeatal unit (OMU) CT including both coronal and axial scans as well as the operation. The CT findings and clinical findings were analyzed for the pathway of the stalk of antrochoanal polyp, comparing with the operative findings. Results: The antrochoanal polyps were mostly located on the left side (12/14, 85.7%) and equally passed through the natural and accessory ostia (7/14, 7/14) in our cases. Those that were passing through the accessory ostium were located more inferiorly and posteriorly, with preserving the natural ostium on CT scans, comparing to those via the natural ostium. However, those passing through the natural ostium had a larger stalk that eroded the uncinate process widely. So each ostium was hardly discriminated on CT scans. Conclusions: The pathway of the stalk of the antrochoanal polyp could be more specifically evaluated on both coronal and axial OMU CT scans. So, it could be more hilpful in the presurgical planning.

      • 유한요소해석과 실험검증을 통한 콘크리트 직접인발 시험방법 개발

        시험편 형상에 의해 발생되는 불규칙한 응력 분포의 하나인 응력집중은 정확한 부착강도 측정을 위하여 최소화해야한다. 이 논문은 pull-off 시험에 영향을 주는 주요 인자들인, 코어 천공 깊이, 강판의 강성, 탄성계수 비, 덧씌우기 두께에 대하여 논의 하고자 한다. 콘크리트 계면에서 위의 변수에 의한 응력 집중의 영향을 평가하기 위하여 유한 요소 해석을 수행하였고, 유한 요소 해석을 통해, 현장 적용을 위한 뛰어난 콘크리트 pull-off 부착강도 시험 방법을 제안하였다. 유한 요소 해석으로부터 제안된 방법은 실험을 통해 검증하였다. 또한 pull-off 시험 방법과 휨 시험 방법과 니플 파이프 직접 인장 시험 방법에 의한 실험을 실시하고 그 결과를 비교하였을 때 표준편차의 관점에서 좋은 결과를 보임을 알 수 있었다. The stress concentration, which is one of non-uniform stress distribution and arises from specimen geometry, should be minimized in order to measure the bond strength correctly. This study discusses the main relevant issues effecting to core pull-off test, namely, core drilling depth stiffness of steel disk, modulus ratio, overlay thickness and length of between cores and edges. Finite element analysis is carried out in order to investigate the effects of those above into the stress concentration at concrete interface. From a series of finite element analysis, a fine concrete pull-off bond strength test method is proposed for field application. The proposed method from finite element analysis is evaluated from a series of experiments. The test results show that the repeatability of the core pull off test are comparable and relatively good in terms of standard deviation, compared from those of flexural beam test method and nipple pipe direct tensile test method.
