        The comparative analyses were studied using meteorological data for 16 years from 1980 to 1995. The research set 3 coastal places in the yellow sea side(Incheon, Gunsan, Mokpo) and 3 inland places(Seoul, Jeonju, Gwangju) to investigate the relation between the atmospheric phenomena and sea water temperature of the yellow sea in Korea. To Study the influence of sea water to the coastal and inland places. I used the sea surface temperatures in Incheon, Gunsan and Mokpo where the date of the serial oceanographic places. Sensible heat from the sea surface in the Yellow Sea was evaluated by the formular of Jacobs, Q_s=5.43V(T_s-T_a), where V is wind velocity, T_s is sea surface temperature and T_a is temperature. Air temperatures in the coastal places are higher than ones in the case that the sea surface temperatures are higher than coastal air temperatures. Differences of the sea water temperature is related to the water vapor of the coastal as using mixing ratio that is strongly influenced. Meteorological characteristics of the coastal places are influenced by the fluctuation of sea surface temperatures and sensible heat in the sea.

      • 일측 하퇴 의족 착용자의 절단단 길이에 따른 보행특성

        This report studied 31 male patients who were in one hospital in Kwangju or came to a prosthesis clinic and are 15 normal control group to analyze the gait characteristics according to the stump length in the prosthesis users with the unilateral below-knee amputations. The patient group was divided into a short stump subgroup of 13 patients and a long stump subgroup of 18 patients according to the stump length, the control group was randomly sampled from 15 males who have similar age, height and weight to the experimental group. The results of analysis are summarized as follows. 1. There were no significant statistical differences of the general characteristics between patient and control groups and there was no difference of characteristics by patient groups except the mean gait distance a day. 2. Of 33 patients with amputation, 18 patients (57.8%) had phantom pain and 25 cases (80.6%) had neuroma. 3. Gait velocity, stride length of the affected side, step length of the sound side and base support among gait characteristics show a significant difference according to the stump length in the state excluding the effects of other factors (p<05) and the group with long stump showed closer gait characteristics to normal persons than those with short stumps. In conclusion, among the patients of unilateral below-knee amputations, the stump length affects the gait characteristics such as gait velocity, stride length, step and base of support and it is found that as the stump length gets longer, it shows the similar characteristics to gait characteristics of normal persons and long unilateral below-knee amputation can secure better gait characteristics.

        정신분열증환자의 혈장 Homovanillic Acid 농도와 치료반응과의 관계

        In order to see whether the plasma homovanillic acid(HVA) levels can be adopted as a predictive biological marker reflecting therapeutic response of haloperidol, the authors measured HVA levels in 10 shchizophrenic patient and analyzed their relationship to therapeutic response. The measurement of plasma HVA level were carried out with high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) before and after 7, 28days of treatment and the therapeutic response were assessed with Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale(BPRS) before and after 28days of treatment. The results of this study were as follows. 1) Plasma HVA levels after 7 days of treatment were significantly increased as compared to baseline plasma HVA levels and plasma HVA levels after 28 days of treatment were significantly decreased compared to levels after 7 days of treatment. 2) Significant correlation was found between baseline plasma HVA levels and clinical improvement after 28 days of treatment. 3) There was significant correlation between increase in plasma HVA level after 7 days and clinical improvement after 28 days of treatment. But there was no significant correlations between decrement in plasma HVA level from 7 days to 28 days and clinical improvement after 28 days of treatment. Hence theses observations have led us to propose that the early changes in plasma HVA levels are predictive of eventual treatment response.

      • 벼 상온 저장 시기별 쌀 품질 변화

        Increasing concern about a rice quality, it is considered postharvest technology as well as cultivation management as an important factor. Therefore it is necessary to find optimal drying, storage method that did not affected a rice quality. In order to find the optimum storage period of rice, the rice quality was investigated during storage period. The temperature and humidity of storage bin were greatly changed but those of rice were a little do. The germination rate was slowly decreased as the storage period is long. The content of moisture was affected by a room temperature, it was increased at stored rice in rainy season(10-Jul~20-Jul). As storage period is long, the content of amylose, fatty acidity were a just Little changed but did not showed a constant tendency to it. The content of protein was increased and mechanic palatability value was decreased during storage period. The chromaticity of milled rice showed a range of lightness(L); 75.15~71.75, redness(a); 0.21~0.91, yellowness(b); 16.78~19.28 during storage period.

      • 더덕의 효율적인 재분화 및 뿌리발달

        더덕은 식용, 관상용, 생약재료로 쓰이는 방향성 식물이다. 본 연구는, 종자의 기내배양을 통하여 식물체 재분화와 뿌리발달을 실험했다. 종자의 발아는 GA_(3) 100 mg·L(-1)처리와 저온처리 시 매우 양호하였다. 더덕의 기내에서 shoot의 형성은 2 mg·L^(-1) BA, 2 mg·L(-1) NAA가 첨가된 MS 기본배지에서 가장 양호하였으며, 줄기의 절편체와 비교하여 잎 절편체에서 재분화가 잘되었다. 또한 뿌리의 발육은 계속적인 계대배양에 의해서 양호하였는데 shoot의 길이를 1 cm 정도 남긴 뿌리를 연속적으로 4회 계대배양에서 뿌리가 주근으로 발육하였으며 길이는 약 3 cm 및 직경은 0.5 cm의 정상적인 뿌리를 얻을 수 있었다. Codonopsis lanceolata is widely used as edibles, ornamental plant and crude drug material. This study was carried out to confirm the ratio of germination and efficient differentiation of shoot and root in vitro. The germination of Codonopsis lanceolata seed was excellent in the medium with GA_(3) 100 mg·L(-1) and chilling treatment. The shoot formation of Codonopsis lanceolata was good at the MS medium with 2 mg·L(-1) BA and 2 mg·L(-1) NAA. According to inoculum part, ratio of re-differentiation was higher from the leaf explant compared with the stem explant. For root development, successive subculture with 1 cm shoot of upper part from root was efficient. Roots of Codonopsis lanceolata cultured in vitro system was grown like normal root with length of 3 cm and thickness of 0.5 cm at the 4 successive subcultures.

      • 비시즌 프로籠球選手의 體脂肪率이 脚筋파워와 心肺持久力에 미치는 影響

        This study is designed to make a comparative analysis of non-seasonal professional basketball players' rates of body fats on their basic physical strength and uniform-velocity power and to present information necessary for enhancing the subjects' willingness, motivation, self-control and maturity and cultivating professional attitudes. With this in mind, the researcher worked with a total of 26 non-seasonal professional basketball players to evaluate their rates of body fat, VO₂max, uniform velocity measurement(knee) 60˚/sec, sergent jumps and side steps. Therefore I came to the following conclusions on the basis of the statistic confirmation of frequency analysis of the results by variable. ① A group of subjects with less than 15 percent of body fat turned out to have higher VO₂max than a group of subjects with more than 15 percent of body fat(p<0.05). ② There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of uniform velocity power measurement. ③ The former turned out to have high sergent jumps than the latter(p<0.05). ④ There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of side steps. The survey shows that the difference in the rates of the subjects turned out to have an influence on power and cardiovascular endurance. The bottom line is that the researcher should take into consideration individual diversity and methodological errors instead of restricting the range of body fat rates. After keeping one's body condition in the best condition with one's body weight determined, one should be cautious about an increase in body fat and control the consumption and intake of energy all the time. Professional players, in particular, should pay special attention to an increase or a decrease in their body fat so as to prevent their injuries and show effective athletic performance. This will enable the players to exercise their best performance capacity in an appropriate condition of physical structure involving skeletons, muscles and body fat required in sports. Therefore the researcher thinks that a rate of body fat has a certain influence on professional basketball players' best performance and long career.

        精神科 入院의 季節的 變動

        (1) Authors studied seasonal fluctuation of psychiatric admission preliminarily, based on data of admission to Pusan area for a 4 year period of 1960-1963, and obtained following impressions. (2) The rate of admission in Pusan area and its seasonal fluctuation appear quite similar to those reported by investigators for European, American and Japanese cities. Thus the admission increases in spring and reaches the maximum in May and then gradually decreases toward the end of year. (3) The data obtained by statistical analysis of the seasonal fluctuation in Pusan area were compared with those of foreign ones in order to observe how to be related to the latitude of the locality. It is the general tendency that the lower latitude showed increase of admission in earlier months of the year than the higher latitude did. (4) It is a impression that the admission of affective psychoses are more sensitive to the climatic factors than the schizophrenics. (5) It is conjured by the authors that the socio-cultural and economic factors should be considered to give an account of the seasonal fluctuation of psychiatric admission.

      • 한국과 일본의 고등학교 물리교과서의 비교연구

        This study is to analyze the physics textbooks of Korea and Japan comparatively. The conclusions are as follows: The textbooks in Korea are consisted of two parts; physics I and Ⅱ chapters, while the textbooks in Japan are only one book with four chapters. The chapter of 'Force and Motion' is dominant in contents of the textbooks in Korea, while 'Electromagnetism' occupies the most part in Japan. For the textbooks in Korea the chapter of 'Modem physics' is 24.6% of all contents in the number of experiments, but the experiments are not shown in 'Modern Physics' for the Japanese textbooks. The number of photographs per page in Japan is slightly more than in Korea, but the number of figure, graph, table, problem, and experiments per page in Korea prevail the ones of Japan. In analyzing the physics textbooks of Korea and Japan comparodively, the Korean textbooks give much emphasis on 'Force and Motion' basis of physics, and on 'Modern physics', applied physics, while Japan has had a film basis of developing the electronic industry by emphasizing 'Electromagnetism' and 'Force and Motion' in their textbooks.

      • Lutembacher 증후군 환자 증례 보고

        Lutembacher's syndrome is rare combination of mitral stenosis (MS) and atrial septal defect (ASD). The hemodynamic interplay between the MS and ASD leads to wide variation of clinical presentation. Here we describe a 43-year-old female with Lutembacher's syndrome and tricuspid regurgitation with pulmonary hypertension, who underwent direct closure of ASD and tricuspid valvuloplasty successfully. We also reviewed other literatures in an effort to increase awareness of this condition.

        내분비계 교란물질의 검출계를 이용한 γ-HCH의 미생물에 의한 중간대사산물에 대한 내분비계교란 활성의 평가

        To develop an efficient degradation system for Endocrine disruptors (EDs), it is necessary to have a good system to evaluate rapidly and accurately endocrine-disrupting activities of suspected chemicals and their degradation products. We previously constructed a co-expression system of GAL4 DNA binding domain (DBD)-human estrogen receptorβ ligand binding domain (hERβ LBD) and Gal4p transcriptional activation domain (TAD)-co-activator SRC1 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a chromosome-integrated lacZ reporter gene under the control of CYC1 promoter and GAL4 binding site (Upstream Activating Sequence, UAS). Expression of this reporter gene was dependent on the presence of estrogen or endocrine disruptors in the culture medium. Furthermore, the extent of transcriptional activation by those chemicals correlated with their estrogenic activities measured by other assay systems, indicating that this assay system is efficient and reliable for measuring estrogenic activity. We applied this assay system to measure estrogenic activity of microbial degradation products of γ-hexachlorocyclohexane (γ-HCH) by Sphingomonas paucimobilis. Among the γ-HCH metabolites, 2,5-dichlorohydroquinone (2,5-DCHQ) and chlorohydroquinone (CHQ) had similar estrogenic activities to the original chemical, but hydroquinone (HQ), a metabolite at later stage, had no activity at the concentration of 10^-4M, showing the necessity of evaluation of intermediate metabolites in microbial degradation systems.
