        Review of alternative gate stack technology research during the last decade

        Scaling of the gate stack has been one of the major contributors to the performance enhancement of CMOSFET devices in past technology generations The scalability of gate stack has diminished in recent years and alternative gate stack technology such as metal electrode and high-k dielectrics has been intensively studied during almost matches that of conventional SiO2-based gate dielectrics. However, many technical challenges remain to be resolved before alternative gate stacks can be introduced into mainstream technology. This paper reviews the reasearch in alternative gate stack technologies to provide insights for future reasearch.

      • AUTOMATION OF QUANTITATIVE SAFETY EVALUATION IN CHEMICAL PROCESSES

        A method to automate hazard analysis of chemical plants is proposed in this paper. The proposed system is composed of three knowledge bases - unit knowledge base, organizational knowledge base and material knowledge base, and three hazard analysis algorithms - deviation, malfunction and accident analysis algorithm. Hazard analysis inference procedure is developed based on the actual hazard analysis procedures and accident development sequence. The proposed algorithm can perform hazard analysis in two methods and represent all conceivable types of accidents using accident analysis algorithm. In addition, it provides intermediate steps in the accident propagation, and enables the analysis result to give a useful information to hazard assessment. The proposed method is successfully demonstrated by being applied to diammonium phosphate manufacturing process. A system to automate hazard analysis is developed by using the suggested method. The developed system is expected to be useful in finding the propagation path of a fault or the cause of a malfunction as it is capable to approach causes of faults and malfunctions simultaneously.

        한국 전통춤의 분류와 양식적 특징 -정병호의 분류법 검토를 중심으로-

        이 연구는 전통춤의 유형을 분류하고 장르별로 양식적 특징을 비교하여 한국전통춤의 근원적 특징을 고찰하는데 있다. 전통춤의 분류는 정병호의 분류법을근간으로 문제를 보완하여 정병호?이병옥의 분류법으로 재정립하였다. 그 특징은 ①대분류로 일반화된 2대 분류(궁중춤, 민속춤)를 인정하고 상분류에서 정병호의 4분류법을 수용하여 상호문제를 해결하였다. 즉 궁중춤은 향연춤, 제례춤으로 분류하고, 민속춤은 의례춤, 민간춤, 예인춤으로 분류하였다. ②대?상?중?하분류까지 4단계로 하위분류하여 전통춤 모든 종목을 분류하는 유형분류법을마련하였다. 그중에서 특히 예인춤은 기방계춤, 재인계춤, 신당계춤의 분류를 주목할 수 있다. ③여러 가지 분류방식도 상황에 따라 필요하겠지만 기능적, 직능적, 사회적, 예술적 개념을 종합한 통합분류로 정립하였다. 이어서 전통춤의 분류법에 입각하여 유형별로 양식적인 특징을 고찰하고 상호 비교하였다. 특히 전통춤 2대 분류인 궁중춤과 민속춤의 양식적 특징을 비교하였고, 예인춤의 양식적 특징을 고찰하고 하위분류인 기방계춤, 재인계춤, 신당계춤의 특징을 비교하였다. 또한 민간춤의 특징과 의례춤의 특징을 각기 고찰하였으며, 민속춤의 하위분류인 민간춤, 예인춤, 의례춤의 양식적 특징을 비교표로 정립하였다. 끝으로정병호와 이병옥이 정리한 한국 전통춤의 원형적 요소가 되는 신체부위별 춤사위의 양식적 특징을 살펴본 결과, 손가락춤은 없고 주로 추는 부위는 손목춤, 손바닥춤, 팔춤, 어깨춤이다. 그리하여 손가락춤, 목춤, 고개춤 등 말초부위는 발달하지 않았다. 또한 발디딤새는 비정비팔이 중심이며, 걸음걸이는 굴신인 디딤새→돋음새→오금새, 디딤새→뜀새의 원리로 걷는다. 그밖에 특징은 수족상응춤, 3박자의 호흡춤과 엇박춤을 들 수 있다. The purpose of this study was to classify the types of traditional dance and compare the formal characteristics of each genre to examine the original characteristics of Korean traditional dance. The classification method of Byung Ho Jung was applied to classify the traditional dance, but its problems were improved to reestablish it as the classification method of Byung Ho Jung and Byung Ok Lee. Its characteristics are as follows: ① The generalized classification into two genres (royal dance and folk dance) was accepted and Byung Ho Jung`s four-tier classification in the upper tier was accepted to resolve the problems. Therefore, royal dance was classified into banquet dance and ritual dance, while folk dance was classified into ceremonial dance, commoner dance, and artistic dance. ② A classification method was established to classify all categories of traditional dance into four tiers to present it as a chart. In particular, artistic dance was classified into Gibang Dance, Jaein Dance (entertainer), and Shindang Dance (shaman). ③ Various methods of classification would be needed, but an integrated classification method was established in terms of functional, professional, social, and artistic concepts. Then, the formal characteristics of the dance were examined and compared based on the method of classification of traditional dance. In particular, the formal characteristics of royal dance and folk dance were compared and the formal characteristics of artistic dance were examined to compare the characteristics of Gibang Dance, Jaein Dance, and Shindang Dance. Also, the characteristics of folk dance and ritual dance were examined and the formal characteristics of commoner dance, artistic dance, and ceremonial dance were compared in a chart. Finally, the formal characteristics of the dance of each body part that becomes the archetypical elements of Korean traditional dance organized by Byung Ho Jung and Byung Ok Lee include wrist dance, palm dance, arm dance, and shoulder dance, while the peripheral parts of fingers, neck, and head were not developed. The foot position is Bijeongbipal and the steps follow the principle of Didimsae→Dodeumsae→Ogeumsae and Didimsae→ Dduimsae. Other characteristics include hand-foot coordination dance, 3-beat breathing dance, and off-beat dance.

      • 운동실천을 위한 심리행동적 중재전략

        본 연구는 운동이 건강에 좋다는 것을 알면서도 운동실천을 시작하지 못하는 사람들을 어떻게 운동실천을 시작하도록 하며 운동실천을 지속시킬 것인가에 대한 중재전략에 대해 선행연구들을 토대로 정리한 것이다. 운동중재(intervention)는 건강과 관련된 지식, 태도, 기준, 및 행동을 구체적인 목표를 가지고 운동을 하지 않는 사람들에게 인식시켜 운동을 시작케 하거나 운동을 지속적으로 유지시킬 목적을 가지고 건강관리 전문가로 이루어진 팀에 의해 실행되는 건강증진활동을 의미한다(Gauvin, Levesque, & Richard, 2001). 김병준(2006)은 운동실천 중재전략을 이론에 근거한 중재전략, 행동수정 전략, 인지행동전략, 내적동기 전략 등으로 구분하였다. 이론에 근거한 중재전략은 혜택인식, 방해요인 극복, 자기효능감 향상으로 운동실천을 하도록 동기유발을 일으킨다. 행동수정전략은 의사결정단서를 제공하고 출석상황을 게시하며 보상제공, 피도백 제공을 통해 운동실천을 하도록 유도한다. 인지전략으로는 목표를 현실적으로 구체적으로 제시하며 의사결정 균형표를 비교하며 운동일지 작성, 운동계약시 회원이 참여하도록 하여 책임감을 갖도록 하여 운동실천을 하도록 유도한다. 마지막으로 내적동기 전략으로 운동을 할 때에 즐거움을 체험하도록 하며 몰입상태에 임하도록 지도하여 운동실천 동기유발을 하도록 한다. 운동이 주는 긍정적인 효과를 인식하면서도 쉽게 운동실천을 시작하지 못하고 시작하더라도 오래가지 못하고 포기하고 중단하는 사람들을 다시 운동시킨다는 것은 쉬운 일은 아니다. 이러한 운동 실천을 하지 못하는 사람들을 다시금 운동실천을 하도록 동기유발을 하고 실천하도록 의지력을 갖도록 하는 것이 중요하다. 이것이 바로 운동실천을 위한 중재전략이다. The purpose of this study was to review the Intervention Strategies for increasing and keeping physical activity. The Intervention is growing of physical fitness with starting and maintenance physical activity by promotion of health expert team. Kim, byoung-Jun(2006) classed 4 theories intervention strategy. The theory authority of intervention strategy bring about motive for practicing physical activity with benefit recognition, interruption factor overcoming and self-efficacy growing. The behavior adjustment strategy induct into practice physical activity with decisional balance, attendance notice, offering of reward and offering of feedback. The knowledge strategy induct into practice physical activity with offering of detail target, comparing with decisional balance, completing sheet of physical activity and participation agreement of physical activity. Finally, internal motive strategy induct into practice physical activity with enjoyment experience. The intervention strategy for increasing physical activity is starting and maintenance physical activity who used not to practice physical activity and stop practice physical activity.

        Genetic Characterization of Haemagglutinin 1 Domain of Influenza B Viruses Isolated in Korea during $1988{\sim}1999$

        Although Korean influenza virus isolates have been genetically associated with the vaccine strains of the corresponding year, influenza B viruses have prevailed almost every year in Korea during the past decades. We have 'analyzed the genetic characteristics and evolutionary patterns of the haemagglutinin (HA) 1 domains of influenza B viruses isolated during 1988-1999 using direct RT-PCR and sequencing. Phylogenetic analysis of influenza B viruses isolated in Korea indicated that antigenically and genetically distinguishable strains of the lineage II and lineage III variants had been cocirculated. Variants prevailed in early 1990s are represented in 1996/97 and 1998/99 and some different variants have been co circulated geographically and prevailed concurrently in Korea. All HA1s of Korean isolates have amino acid substitutions mainly in the region between position 124 and 310, which was previously proposed an immunodominant region. Insertion-deletion patterns of the HA gene revealed that Korean influenza B viruses were evolved from Lee40 with different manner between lineage II and III viruses. Lineage III viruses were also divided into two groups as conserved group and inserted group, in relation to Lee40. But lineage II viruses had evolved with directional pattern. Antigenic index proposed that influenza B isolates prevailed since 1996/97 seasons might had emerged from the antigenic variants of a Seo1697-like virus and that new variants might appear from the lineage II viruses resulting in persistent prevalence in Korea.

        Il Woong Cleft lip and palate foundation was founded in 1968 by Professor emeritus Byoung-Il Min. Since then the foundation has operated numerous cleft lip and palate patients not only in Korea but also in under-developed countries such as Vietnam, China, and Cambodia. In December 2005, the foundation was allowed as an incorporated association by Ministry of Foreign affairs and Trade, so that it could have official status. From March 6th 2009 to March 14th 2009, we conductp,d charity cleft lip and palate operations of 23 patients in areas of Deozhou, China. Hereby we present the results of operations.

        선천성 코눈물관 폐쇄에 대한 변형 탐침술의 효과

        Purpose: To compare modified probing (swing method) to conventional probing for treating congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (CNLDO). Methods: From March 1997 to February 2004, we compared the result between two groups of CNLDO patients: one which underwent conventional probing (Group A: 126 eyes of 126 patients) and the other which underwent modified probing (Group B: 98 eyes of 98 patients) with the swing method. Results: In the comparison between the two groups, there were no statistical differences in genders and ages. When we selected patients according to the age group, we found no differences in the primary success rate between Groups A and B (p=0.088 for the patients of aged six to twelve months old, p=0.051 for the patients aged 13 to 18 months old). Compared by the number of probings, patients with no history of probing in each group showed no significant difference in the success rate (p=0.301). On the other hand, the patients in Group B who experienced probing more than once showed a significantly higher success rate than those in Group A (p=0.033). Conclusions: We recommend the swing method as a primary treatment for CNLDO in preference to conventional probing because the swing method shows a higher success rate for patients older than 13 months and also for those with a history of previous probing.

        Room Temperature Preparation of Poly-Si Thin Films by IBE with Substrate Bias Method

        Using intense pulsed ion beam evaporation technique, we have succeeded in the preparation of poly crystalline silicon thin films without impurities on silicon substrate. Good crystallinity and high deposition rate have been achieved without heating the substrate by using lEE. The crystallinity of poly-Si film has been improved with the high density of the ablation plasma. The intense diffraction peaks of poly-Si thin films could be obtained by using the substrate bias system. The crystallinity and the deposition rate of poly-Si thin films were increased by applying (-) bias voltage for the substrate.
