정안침요법(整顔鍼療法)을 응용하여 호전된 후천성 사경환자 치험 2례

Objectives : This report intended to estimate effects of Jung-an acupuncture on the acquired torticollis caused by muscle contraction. Methods : The patients were treated by Jung-an acupuncture, herb medication and Physical treatment daily. The improvement of the patients was judged by Toronto Western Spasmodic Torticollis Rating Scale(TWSTRS), Tsui's score and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Results : After 7 days of treatment, the 2 patients' neck pain and cervical movement were improved. Also, TWSTRS score, Tsui's score and VAS were all reduced. Conclusions : As the Jung-an acupuncture's theological base is organized with meridian theory and myofacial release therapy, We considered the Jung-an acupuncture is effective not only for the skin disease but also for the muscle problem such as torticollis.

진행성 폐 종양 환자에서 종양 내 OK-432 주입술의 효과

Background: Intratumoral injection of OK-432 produced significant antitumor effects. There are reports that OK-432 was injected directly into tumor tissue on gastrointestinal tracts and HCC tissue, producing decrease in serum alpha-fetoprotein level. We adopted this technique for treating locally advanced lung cancer. The object of this study is to evaluate the local therapeutic efficacy, side effects of injection for treating symptomatic mass. Methods: Twenty lung cancer patients (13 males and 7 females) underwent sonography guided OK-432 injection. We analyzed relationships between response of OK-432 and response of skin test, histology and age. Pain that patients feel was evaluated by VAS (Visual Analog scale). Results: A significant decrease of tumor size was observed. The mean pre-injection diameter of the lesions was 54.7±11.3mm, PR rate were 15.0% (3/20) and minimal change (50%<tumor size decreased.) patients were 35.0% (7/20). The VAS score before injecting OK-432 into the lesion was 5±3, this was decreased to 2.5±1.5 (p=0.04). Object response was significantly correlated with skin response, adenocarcinoma, and age. Conclusion: A significant decrease of tumor size and pain was observed. So OK-432 is a valuable treatment option for patients with symptomatic lesion from advanced lung cancer who are not amenable to further therapy.

廢棄物의 好氣性 堆肥化에 관한 硏究

This paper has compared experimenta1 values with the theoretical values of composting model to examine the possibility of putting the theoretical calues to actual use in the aerobic composting of the sewage sludge and hog manure. The results of the experiments are as follows : 1. In the ranges of 54∼60 % of moisture content of initial material, 7.3∼7.6 of pH, 27.3∼29.7 of C/N ratio and 0.35~0.37 gr / ㎤ of bulk weight, the experimental values of the periodical changes of moisture content, fermantation temperature and organic matter were approximately identical with the theoretical values of those. So those ranges were considered to be the optimum ranges. And it can be concluded that it is possible to plan an aerobic composting accdording to the theoretical formula. 2. When the ventilation volume was larger than 0.22 ㎥/hr·㎏, the evaporation loss of moisture content was great. When the ventilation volume was 0.0028 ㎥/hr·㎏, the anaerobic condition appeared. Thus we can judge the optimum range of venti1ation volume to be 0.02 - 0.06 ㎥/hr·㎏. 3. The CO^2 generation showed its maximum point of 0.85 mmole/day. g (VM) per organic matter between the temperature range of 58~66℃.

含水, pH 및 C/N이 後熟堆肥에 미치는 影響

豚糞에 왕겨 및 톱밥을 膨化材로 混合하여 1週間 好氣性 分解를 行한 後 後熟하는 과정에서 後熟에 影響을 주는 含水率, pH値, 揮發性 固形物 및 C/N比 등의 媒介變數를 決定하기 위해서 實驗室貯藏槽에 堆肥物을 넣고 18週동안 後熟한 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1. 堆肥 混合物의 含水率, C/N比 및 材料의 粒子狀態가 後熟하는 기간을 크게 支配한다. 2. 後熟期間을 短縮하기 위해서는 混合物의 含水率 50%, C/N比 30以下 및 膨化材의 大小種子가 잘 混合되어야 한다. 3. 含水率, 揮性固發形物, pH値 및 C/N比가 堆肥의 여熟程度를 나타낼때 堆肥는 後熟期間 14週 後 安定되어졌다. 4. 後熟하는 材料의 pH値는 7以上이어야 한다. 5. 잘 安定된 堆肥는 含水率 50%, 揮發性固形物 78%, pH値 7.8 및 C/N比 30以下인 ??糞과 適當히 混合한 膨化材(Buling agent)로부터 만들어진다. This experiment was carried out to find out the curing condition of the moisture contents, pH, volatile substances and C/N ratio of the cured compost and the results were as follows: 1. The curing time was controled by the moisture contents, C/N ratio and the size state of material of the compost. 2. To shorten the curing time 50% of moisture content, less than 30 of C/N ratio and the well mixture with the bulking agent were recomended. 3. The compost was cured and stablized its moisture content, volatile substance, pH value and C/N ratio after 14 weeks curing. 4. The compost material more than pH 7 was cured well. 5. The well cured compost was produced with the condition of 50% of moisture content, 78% of volatile substance, pH 7.8 and 30 of C/N ratio of the raw compost material which was fermented previously well mixed with the bulking agents and the manure.

대청댐 역조정지 부근의 수질변화특성 조사

This survey was accomplished to know the characteristics on the variation of water quality around Daechung-dam regulating reservoir. The algae bloom occurres near the chungju and Taejon intake station in autumn every year. It is possible to cause the taste and odor problems in the water supply if this reservoir will be a intake station. The comparsions of water quality data between within main dam and around regulating reservoir during past about 5 years were investigated. The water quality of this reservoir was the raw water supply II class, but its quality was the raw water phosphorus concentration as compared with past 5 years is increasing to be about two times. When the algae bloom occurred, dominant algae species was Aulacoseira glanulata having no correlation with taste and odor.

Rheumatoid arthritis frequently involves the cervical spine and may lead to neurologic impairement. However, direct involvement of CNS structures by inflammatory cells has been reported infrequently. The prevalence of this complication of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown. Inflammatory CNS involvement in rheumatoid arthritis reportedly occurs in the setting of longstanding, active, erosive articular disease and is accompanied by extracranial and extraspinal nodules and vasculitis. This is diagnosed by radiologic finding of CNS nodules or meningeal thickening and by biopsy or autopsy. Treatment with corticosteroid, cytotoxic agent or surgical decompression is helpful. But the majority of patients die within several months of onset of neurologic symptom. Recently, we experienced a case of pachymeningitis caused by rheumatoid arthritis, which resolved repeatedly with azathioprine treatment.

The incidence of hematologic disorders in patients with Down's syndrome is significantly increased, about 14∼30 - fold higher than in general population and includes neonatal transient abnormal myelopoieis and acute leukemias. The age of onset of leukemia in Down's syndrome is peaking first in the newborn period and then under 4 years of age. Down's syndrome with acute leukemia above the age of 20 is very rare and it's treatment oucome is unclear. The treatment of Down's syndrome with leukemia has been controversial because of toxicity and associated congenital cardiac and other abnormalities. But if treated adequately, children with Down's syndrome show a favorable response to anti-leukemia therapy. A 24-year-old man with Down's syndrome was first seen for the evaluation of anemia and thrombocytopenia. The peripheral blood morphology and bone marrow study revealed acute myelogenous leukemia, cytogenetic study of bone marrow showed trisomy 21. Beacuse of his sicioeconomic condition and medical abnormalities including deafness, visual loss, he was treated with low dose subcutaneous cytosine arabinoside(Ara-C) for 11 days. Complete remission was obtained after 37 days. The complete remission lasted for 5 months. He subsequently relapsed, and died 6 months later.

Elevation of homocysteine levels is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and liver diseases. It has been reported that both streptozotocin-induced type I diabetic rats and obese type II diabetic rats have plasma total homocysteine lower than each control rats. We determined the effects of lean type II diabetes on homocysteine levels using type 2 diabetic Goto-Kakizaki rats. The concentrations of serum glucose were increased to ∼two-fold of control levels and the total cholesterol levels were also increased in GK rats. Hepatic aspartate, histidine, threonine, alanine and methionine levels were significantly increased in GK rats. Plasma aspartate and glutamate levels were elevated, but threonine and arginine levels were decreased in GK rats. Plasma total homocysteine levels were not changed in GK rats, but hepatic total homocysteine levels were increased to ∼-three-fold of control levels. These results suggest that hepatic metabolism of sulfur-amino acid may be altered in diabetic condition.

濕式法에 依한 γ-MnO_2 製造에 關한 硏究(第2報) : Purification of Manganes Oxides by Acid Treatment

Studies on the effect of reaction temperature, reaction time and concentration of acid on the purification of manganese oxides was conducted to manufacture γ-MnO₂ available as dry cell depolarizer by wet process. The results obtained were follows: 1.When oxidized the precipitates of OH￣/Mn^++ mole ratio 2.2 by aeration at 13℃ for 6 hours, MnO₂content obtained 89.99%, which was identified as crystalline γ-MnO₂by X-ray diffraction analysis. 2. When manganese oxides was treated at 70℃ for 2hrs with 30% H₂SO₄and 30% HNO₃, the highest content, of MnO₂was obtained as 96.90% and 96.60%, respectively, which was identified as crystalline γ-MnO₂by X-ray diffraction analysis and different thermal analysis.

Sc₂O₃를 첨가한 SnO₂/Ca,Pt 가스센서의 부탄감응 특성

A coprecipitation method was used for preparing Ca and Pt doped SnO_(2) powder. Components were investigated by XRD and SEM. Sc_(2)O_(3) added SnO_(2) /Ca,Pt thick film devices were fabricated by screen printing technique for butane gas detecting. By addition of Sc_(2)O_(3), the selectivity of SnO_(2) /Ca,Pt thick film for butane gas was enhanced. The sensitivity of Sc_(2)O_(3) added SnO_(2) /Ca,Pt device to 3,000 ppm butane in air was about 90% at the operating temperature. of 200℃. And the device showed good selectivity for butane gas.
