본 연구에서는 다양한 인체암세포의 증식에 미치는 등불가사리 메탄올 추출물(MEGF)의 영향을 조사하였다. MEGF는 처리 농도의존적으로 암세포의 형태적변이 및 증식억제가 효과를 보여주었으며, 특히 백혈병세포에서 가장 높은 감수성을 보여주었다. 따라서 백혈병세포의 증식억제 효과가 apoptosis 유발과 연관성이 있는지를 flow cytometry 분석 및 DAPI staining 법으로 조사한 결과, MEGF 처리에 의한 백혈병세포의 증식억제는 세포주기 교란과 무관한 apoptosis 유발에 의한 것임을 sub-G1기 세포의 빈도 증가 및 apoptotic body 형성의 증가 등으로 확인하였다. 또한 MEGF 처리에 의한 백혈병세포의 증식억제 및 apoptosis 유발은 p53 비의존적인 p21의 발현 증가 및 Fas/FasL system의 발현 증가와 연관성이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 결과들은 인체 암세포, 특히 백혈병세포에서 MEGF의 항암작용을 이해하는데 중요한 자료가 될 것이고 나아가 MEGF 내 함유된 생리활성 물질의 분리 및 항암적용 연구를 위한 중요한 기초 자료로 활용될 것이다. Epidemiological studies have indicated that the ubiquitous consumption of seaweeds is a protective factor against some types of cancer. Previous results showed that the administration of seaweed powder or extract reduced the incidence rate of chemically induced tumorigenesis using in vivo animal model. Recently, we reported that the extracts of Gloiopeltis furcata, a kind of Korean edible seaweed, caused he cell growth inhibition of various human cancer cell lines, among them methanol extract exhibited a relatively strong antiproliferative activity. However, the molecular mechanisms of this seaweed in malignant cells have been poorly studied until now. To elucidate this problem, we investigated the effects of methanol extract of G. furcata (MEGF) on the growth inhibition in several human cancer cell lines, and further we analyzed the effects of this extract were tested on the activity of apoptosis induction in human leukemic cells. The results demonstrated that MEGF treatment resulted in the morphological changes and the growth inhibition in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, MEGF potently suppresses the growth of human leukemic U937 cells by induction of apoptosis, which was associated with induction of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p21(WAF1/CIP1) in a tumor suppressor p53-independent fashion and up-regulation of Fas/FasL system. Further studies will be needed to identify the active compounds that confer the anticancer activity of MEGF. Once such compounds are identified, the mechanisms by which they exert their effects can begin to be characterized.

The purpose of this study was to deduce the landscape evaluation indices that can be applied from the preparation for the registration of major national farm/fishery heritages to post-management. For this purpose, the Delphi survey was performed on experts. From August to November in 2014, the primary open survey, secondary open survey, and tertiary closed survey were performed to gather opinions from 28 experts, 25 experts, and 29 experts, respectively. As a result, the landscape evaluation indices for farm/fishery heritage consisted of five areas of evaluation, ten items of evaluation, and 40 indices of evaluation. The areas of evaluation were rurality, authenticity, aesthetics, tourism potentials, and locality. Rurality was classified into rurality of farm/fishery towns and nostalgia. Authenticity was classified into objective authenticity and existential authenticity. Aesthetics was classified into attractiveness and harmony. Tourism potentials were classified into value of resources and value of usability. Locality was divided into physical originality and cultural identity. The study made the following findings: first, the general grounds of farm/fishery landscape evaluation cannot be applied when evaluating the quality of landscapes of farm/fishery heritage, as their value as a cultural heritage should be considered. Second, the new indices valued emotional factors in addition to the physical factors considered by the existing farm/fishery landscapes. The new indices involved a more expanded concept of landscapes as it also considers everyday or temporary activities, including the farm/fishery activities of local people or participation in festivals and experience programs. Third, farm/fishery heritage focuses on the lives of local people, as it involves both the synchronic and the diachronic perspectives to see what is currently visible and what is no longer visible. This brings into consideration not only the farms and the natural environments but also their relationships with the villages, especially the residential areas. Finally, the indices reflected both the farm/fishery heritage's value as cultural heritage and its value for tourism. They derived temporary and dynamic landscapes, including the trading activities of local specialty markets in relation to the production landscapes. However, further studies should be conducted as this study could not rate the relative importance of indices or compare the total scores of landscapes without the weight of each item. 본 연구의 목적은 국가중요농어업유산의 등재 준비 단계부터 사후 관리까지 적용이 가능한 경관 평가 지표를 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 전문가들을 대상으로 델파이 조사를 실시하였으며, 2014년 8월부터 11월까지 1차 개방형, 2차 개방형, 3차 폐쇄형으로 진행하였고, 1차 28명, 2차 25명, 3차 29명의 전문가 의견을 연구에 활용하였다. 그 결과, 농어업유산의 경관 평가 지표는 평가영역 5개, 평가항목 10개, 평가지표 40개로 구성되었다. 평가영역은 향토성, 진정성, 심미성, 관광잠재력, 지역성이었고, 향토성은 농어촌성과 향수성, 진정성은 객관적 진정성과 실존적 진정성, 심미성은 매력성과 조화성, 관광잠재력은 자원가치성과 활용가치성, 지역성은 물리적 고유성과 문화적 정체성으로 분류되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 도출된 시사점은 첫째, 농어업유산의 경관의 질을 평가할 때에는 유산으로서의 가치를 고려해야 한다는 점에서 일반 농어업 경관 평가 준거를 그대로 준용할 수 없음이 규명되었다. 둘째 기존의 농어업 경관에서 주목하고 있는 물리적 요인뿐 아니라, 정서적 요인을 중시하고 있었고, 주민이 농어업활동이나 축제 체험 등 행사에 참여하는 일상적이거나 일시적인 액티비티를 경관 평가 항목으로 포함하고 있다는 점에서 기존의 경관 평가 지표에서보다 확장된 경관 개념을 포함하였다. 셋째, 농어업유산은 그 순간 경작지에서 보이는 공시적 관점뿐 아니라, 눈에 보이지 않는 시간까지 포함한 통시적 관점을 포함한다는 관점에서 주민들의 삶에 주목하게 되고, 따라서 경작지와 자연환경은 물론이고, 마을경관 특히 주거지와의 관계성에 의미를 두고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 농어업유산의 핵심 요소인 유산적 가치 측면과 관광적 활용 측면이 모두 반영되었고, 생산경관과 관련된 특산물 판매장의 사고파는 활동을 포함한 일시적이고 동태적인 경관들이 지표로서 도출되었다는 점에서 차별화되었다. 그러나 본 연구는 각 항목 간의 가중치가 도출되지 않아, 상대적 중요도를 알 수 없고, 경관의 총점을 비교할 수 없다는 한계점이 있으므로 이에 대한 연구가 후행되어야 할 것이다.
Rhizobium meliloti M14의 니탄배양(泥炭培養)에 관(關)한 연구

전보(前報)에서 분리(分離)한 R. meliloti M14를 공시(供試)하여 국내산 니탄(泥炭)의 이용(利用) 가용성(可用性)을 구명(究明)하고저, 니탄(泥炭)의 중화(中和) 및 개량(改良), 액체배양물과의 혼합(混合) 및 숙성등(熟成等)에 관(關)하여 실험(實驗)하였고, 니탄배양물(泥炭培養物)을 보관(保管)하는 동안 온도(溫度)와 잔존생균수(殘存生菌數)와의 관계(關係)를 검토(檢討)하여 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1. 국내산(國內産) 니탄(泥炭)은 산성(酸性), pH 3.8로서 이를 pH6.4로 조성(調聲)하는데 14%의 calcium carbonate가 소요(所要)되었으며, 목탄(木炭), 활성탄등(活性炭等)을 혼용(混用)할 경우에는 4~8%를 절약(節約)할 수 있었다. 2. stationary phase 초기(初期)의 균체배양액을 살균(殺菌)하지 않은 니탄배지(泥炭培地)에 접종(接種)하여 tray배양(培養)할 경우에 3일후(日後) $7{\sim}9{\times}10^9cells/g$의 배양물(培養物)을 얻었으며, 살균(殺菌)한 배지(培地)를 사용(使用)하여 병배양하는 경우에는 5일후(日後) $1.1{\sim}6.2{\times}10^{10}cells/g$의 것을 얻었다. 3. 니탄배양물(泥炭培養物)을 보관(保管)하는 동안, 온도(溫度)에 따라서 잔존생균수(殘存生菌數)의 차이(差異)가 심(甚)하였으며, 특(特)히 $35^{\circ}C$와 $45^{\circ}C$의 높은 온도(溫度)에서 그 감소율(減少率)을 줄이기 위하여 추가적(追加的) 탄소원(炭素源) 및 습윤제(濕潤劑)로서 sorbitol의 첨가효과(添加效果)가 인정(認定)되었다. 본균주(本菌株)는 glycerol, sorbitol, sodium latate 등(等)을 유일(唯一)한 탄소원(炭素源)으로 이용(利用)할 수 있었으나 glycerol 및 sodium latate에서는 생육(生育)이 다소(多少)낮았고, 이들을 0.5%함유(含有)한 니탄배양물(泥炭培養物)을 $25^{\circ}C$에서 보관(保管)할때의 decimal reduction time은 8~9주(週)이었으며, sorbitol첨가물(添加物)의 생균수(生菌數)는 초기(初期)에는 높았으나 12~15주(週) 사이에서 다른 것보다 낮아지는 결과(結果)를 보였다. This experiment was carried out to study the availability of Korean peat as a main carrier material of rhizobial inoculant, using the alfalfa strain Rhizobium meliloti M 14 which was isolated in the previous report. Modification of powdered peat with calcium carbonate and other materials was studied; inoculation of the peat with culture broth, maturation of the mixture under different conditions, and survival of the strain in the peat culture was examined. The results obtained were as follows. 1. Peat produced in Pyongtak was highly acidic, pH 3.8, and addition of calcium carbonate by 14% was required for pH adjustment to 6.4. However the amount of calcium carbonate could be reduced by 4 to 8% when carbon or charcoal was mixed with the peat. 2. Viable number of the strain reached to $7-9{\times}10^9cells/g$ after 3 days, when inoculated with the culture broth of early stationary growth phase and matured in unsteriled peat of open trays; and the number in steriled peat was $1.1-6.2{\times}10^{10}cells/g$ after 5 days, when matured in closed bottles. 3. Survival of the strain was affected markedly by storage temperature, and positive effect of D-sorbitol on the viability was recognized at elevated temperatures, when added as an additional carbon source and moistening agent. Glycerol, sorbitol, or sodium lactate was utilized by the strain as a sole source of carbon, and the decimal reduction time of viable number in the peat culture was was found to be 8 to 9 weeks at $25^{\circ}C$ when these agents were added by 0.5%.
안면골 골절 환자에 대한 표준진료지침 개발에 따른 환자의 인식도 증가와 만족도 개선 효과

Background: If patients have a better understanding about their problem and treatment, compliance and satisfaction with treatment will increase. For this purpose, simple repeated explanations regarding a patients' problem and treatment are essential. Critical pathway (CP) has a very wide range in medicine with the exception of the plastic surgery field. The authors developed a CP for facial bone fractures and implemented it clinically. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the CP on the degree of recognition of the problem along with patient satisfaction with the treatment process. Methods: From May 2011 to October 2011, a total of 82 patients suffering from facial bone fractures were studied. The CP for facial bone fractures was developed by plastic surgeons, residents and nurses. Subsequently, the authors investigated the degree of recognition of the disease and patient satisfaction with the treatment through the use of a questionnaire. The authors compared the score of the questionnaires before and after implementation of the clinical pathway. Results: The degree of the recognition of the problem changed from 3.1 to 4.2 (p<0.001). Further, the degree of satisfaction with the treatment process changed from 3.6 to 4.3 (p<0.05). Overall, there was a two point increase in improvement. Conclusion: Implementation of the CP for facial bone fractures was effective in improving the degree of recognition and satisfaction. The authors expect that hereafter, the CP for facial bone fractures will be implemented actively in the plastic surgery field.

In this paper, a novel compact and frequency band-notch antenna for Ultra-Wideband(UWB) applications is proposed. The designed antenna not only shows good impedance bandwidth for ultra-wideband but has band notch characteristic for the frequency band of $5.15\~5.825\;GHz$ limited by IEEE 802.1la and HIPERLAN/2. To achieve both properties of wide band and band notch, the techniques of a concaved ground plane and inserted U-shaped thin slot into planar radiator are used respectively. A manufactured antenna satisfied VSWR<2 for the frequency band of $2.95\~11.7\GHz$ except the limited band of $4.92\~5.866\;GHz$. 본 논문에서는 Ultra-Wideband(UWB)통신을 위한 새로운 소형 주파수 대역 저지 안테나를 설계 및 제작한다. 설계된 안테나는 초광대역 특성을 만족하면서, IEEE 802.11a와 HIPERLAN/2에 의해 사용이 제한된 $5.15\~5.825\;GHz$에서 주파수 대역 저지 특성을 갖는다. 안테나의 광대역 특성을 얻기 위해서 요철 모양의 접지면을 구현하였고, 또한 제한된 주파수 대역에서 저지 특성을 갖기 위해 U모양의 얇은 슬랏을 사각형 복사 패치 위에 구현 하였다. 제작된 안테나는 저지 대역인 $4.92\~5.866\;GHz$을 제외하고 $2.95\~11.7\;GHz$ 대역에서 정재파비 2 이하를 만족하는 광대역 특성을 나타낸다.

스코트랜드 National Collection of Industrial Bacteria의 3개 섬유소 분해세균에 대하여 형태적, 생리적, 및 배양적성질을 검토한 결과 NCIB 8077은 Cellulomonas sp.로, NCIB 8633 및 NCIB 8634는 Pseudomonas sp로 각각 분류되었으며 기왕에 보고된 다른 섬유소 분해세균에 대한 분류학상의 문제점을 아울러 고찰하였다. Colony morphology, growth responses on some simple carbon sources and taxonomic position were established for three stock cultures of National Collection of Industrial Bacteria, Scotland. It was confirmed that NCIB 8077 belonged to the Cellulomonas species and that NCIB 8633 and NCIB 8634 belonged to the Pseudomonas species. Taxonomy of other cellulolytic bacteria published on various journals was also discussed.
화상회의 영상에서 움직이는 화자의 분할 및 추적 알고리즘

본 논문에서는 화상회의 영상 데이터에서 화자를 분할하고, 그 움직임을 추적하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 실시간 처리가 가능하도록 화자 분할과 움직임 추적 순으로 처리되는 알고리즘으로 단순화하였다. 분할 한계에서는 차분 방법에 의해 구한 움직임 정보와 영상의 밝기 정보를 사용하여 화자를 분할하였다. 분할된 화자로부터 기준 마스크 영상을 생성하였다. 움직임 추적 단계에서는 움직임 추적에 불필요한 블록들은 제외함으로써 빠르게 움직임을 추적할 수 있는 블록정합 알고리즘을 사용하여 추적하였다. 시뮬레이션에서 여러 시험 영상에 제안한 알고리즘을 적용하여 움직이는 화자를 분할하고, 그 움직임를 추적하는 올바른 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. In this paper, we propose the algorithm for segmenting the moving speaker and tracking its movement in the video conference image. For real time processing, we simplify the algorithm which is processed in the order of the segmenting and the tracking step. In the segmenting step, the speaker object is segmented from the image by using both the motion information obtained from the difference method and the illuminance information of image. The reference mask image is created from segmented speaker object. In the tracking step, the moving speaker is tracked by using simple block matching algorithm of which computation time is reduced by discarding the blocks which are classified into the unuseful blocks. In the simulation, we can get the good result of segmenting and tracking the moving speaker by applying the proposed algorithm to several test images.

For autonomous vehicles equipped with advanced active safety systems, it is essential to track the behavior of the target vehicle. Radar is suitable as an automotive sensor, but it has measurement uncertainty due to the operating mechanism and reflection points. In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the tracking error of the radar system. We divide the zones uniformly and use relative location information to identify surrounding vehicles and then analyze the error characteristics of each zone that is uniformly divided. We then used the convex interpolation method to effectively track the object. The resulting estimate is more accurate than the radar measurement.

Steer by Wire (SBW) system is a new steering system in which steering is performed only with electrical wiring without a mechanical connection structure such as a U-joint and is expected to develop into a major steering system for electric vehicle systems in the future. However, if a failure occurs due to external factors such as the ingress of water due to external damage, there is a problem that the steering function is lost, which can pose a risk to the driver. In this paper, we would like to discuss how to recognize this water inflow situation in advance.
