The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of long-term aquatic exercise program on health fitness of the elderly people with hemiplegia disabilities for health promotion by applying the aquatic exercise program to improve the quality of life and prevent falling of thel derly people with hemiplegia disabilities. In this study, six elderly people with hemiplegia disabilities (two maels and four females) living in area C country of G province were selected as study subjects. They were measured (Body composition, Throwing the medicine ball, Grasping power, Isometric endure, Single leg standing, Sitting down and standing up, and Target return) before and after the start of the aquatic exercise program and the following conclusions are obtained. First, long-term aquatic exercise program had no significant differenec in the body composition (p>.05) of the elderly people with hemiplegia disabilities. Second, long-term aquatic exercise program of elderly people with hemiplegia disabilities showed better improvement in medicine ball throwing (p<.01), left grasping power (p<.05), right grasping power (p<.05), one leg stand with eyes closed (p<.05) of health fitness factors. Based on these results, the long-term aquatic exercise program has a positive effect in preventing the daily life of the elderly with hemiplegia disabilities from causing negative changes in body composition. It has been shown an important role in improving the strength and balance ability to improve fall prevention and quality of life. However, the study has not covered changes and difference between male and female. In the future, it is necessary to expand the study based on sexual difference.

This paper reports on a flexible flap valve actuated by electromagnetic force under a constant pressure source. The flexible flap valve consists of the three main components: a flexible flap with a steel disk embedded in PDMS, an electromagnetic actuator and two glass plates with inlet and outlet. The flap valve is fabricated by SU-8 mold process, the EDM process and oxygen plasma treatment. The dimension of an assembled flap valve is 12 [㎜] × 20 [㎜] × 28 [㎜]. The stroke volume of the flap valve is measured for various pressures. And the time of the applied input voltage is varied to change the open time of the valve. When the input voltage of 30 [V] is applied for 0.25 [s], the minimum stroke volume of the flap valve is 40 [μL] at 70 [㎪].

One of the key technologies of intelligent tire monitering system is measuring the deformation of the tire during driving. Tire deformation of the sensor should be operated at extreme conditions and needs wireless communication capability. In this paper, we investigated the feasibility of MEMS SAW sensor as a tire deformation sensor using 3 point bending machine.

Warfarin is a widely used oral anticoagulant agent used to treat thromboembolic disease. The purpose of this study was to develop the efficient assay method of warfarin sodium i n human plasma and to assess the pharmacokinetic profile of the warfarin in healthy Korean volunteers. The pharmacokinetics of warfarin administered orally was evaluated after a dose of 10 mg. Warfarin in plasma was assayed using a specific HPLC method with UV absorbance at 304 nm. AUC was 46.33${\pm}9.95{\mu}g/ml.hr$, $C_{max}$ $1.22{\pm}0.22{\mu}g/ml, $T_{max}$$2.50{\pm}1.41$ hr and half-life $43.49{\pm}4.33$ hr. $T_{max}$ was slightly shorter than that in Caucasian (3~9 hr), whereas the half-life was longer than that in Caucasian (10~45 hr, mean: 36 hr). These results suggest that warfarin may have a longer duration in Korean than in Caucasian.

This study has evaluated the trophic state in Daecheong Lake by Carlson (1977) method, Aizaki (1981) method, Yang and dickman (1993) method, and Korean trophic state index method. For estimating the trophic state index from each analysis method we use water quality factors such as COD, TN, TP, Chl-a, and SD provided by the water information system and the ministry of environment. The seasonal lake trophic state results denote the mesotrophic state lake from Carlson (1977) method, Aizaki (1981) method, and Korean trophic state index method and the high relation between Carlson (1977) method and Aizaki (1981) method with the coefficient of determination R2 greater than 0.9 for all the seasons. Although Korean trophic index method has relatively weak relation to other methods with the coefficient of determination R2 ranging from 0.419 to 0.701, we propose that Korean trophic index method is suitable for use in domestic lakes since Korean trophic index results show the similar periodicity and tendency with other method results. Hence, Korean trophic index method incorporating domestic lake characteristics is expected to can contribute to seasonal water quality management measures in lakes.
