        가족식사가 식생활태도, 학업성취도 및 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 - 경기도 고양시 소재 중학생을 중심으로 -

        The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of family meals on eating behavior, academic achievement, and quality of life among middle school students. A total of 302 participants were recruited from a middle school at Goyangsi. We asked participants about family meals, eating behavior, academic achievement, and quality of life, using structured questionnaires. Family meal questionnaires were classified according to frequency, rules, and awareness. The findings of this study were as follows. First, there were significant differences between rules(p<0.05) and awareness (p<0.05) of family meals and family type. Second, there were statistically significant differences between frequency and awareness of family meals and eating behavior, academic achievement, and quality of life. On the other hand, there was a significant difference between rules about family meals and eating behaviors and quality of life. Third, we found that factors of family meal were positively related to the eating behavior, academic achievement, and quality of life at the level of statistical significance. Finally, we found that participants with a higher frequency of family meals and more positive eating behavior were more likely to higher academic achievement and quality of life than those in lower frequency of family meals and less positive eating behavior among middle school students. The frequency of family meals has a strong effect on higher academic achievement and better quality of life. In conclusion, engagement in family meals was related to better eating behavior, academic achievement, and quality of life among middle school students. Our findings may warrant further studies to support the benefit of family meals in improving eating behavior, academic achievement, and quality of life among high school students as well as middle school students. 본 연구에서는 가족식사가 청소년들의 식생활태도와 학업성취도 그리고 삶의 질에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 연구하였다. 경기도 고양시 소재 중학교 1, 2, 3학년 남녀학생 302명을 대상으로 가족식사를 빈도, 규칙, 인식의 각 요인으로 나누어 청소년의 식생활태도, 학업성취도, 그리고 삶의 질과의 연관성을 살펴보았다. 조사 항목은 일반적인 가족식사 패턴과, 가족식사는 빈도, 규칙, 인식의 세 가지 요인으로 나누어 각 요인을 조사하였다. 식생활태도는 중학생의 식생활 특성을 반영하여 영양, 배려, 예절, 행복감의 세부항목으로 총 19개의 항목으로 측정하였다. 학업성취도에 관한 설문은 각 과목에 대한 학업성취도를 측정하였다. 삶의 질은 신체적 건강 관련 삶의 질 4항목, 정신적 건강 관련 삶의 질 10항목, 그리고 경제적 만족도와 관련한 삶의 질 3항목의 총 17개 항목으로 구성하여 측정하였다. 자료 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족형태에 따라 가족식사 규칙(p<0.05)과 인식(p<0.05)에 유의한 차이를 보이는 이는 반면, 맞벌이여부에 따라서는 가족식사 빈도(p<0.05)에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 가족식사 요인에 따른 식생활태도, 학업성취도, 삶의 질의 차이를 분석한 결과 빈도와 인식에 따라 식생활태도(빈도 p<0.001; 인식 p<0.001), 학업성취도(빈도 p<0.001; 인식 p<0.05), 삶의 질(빈도 p<0.001; 인식 p<0.001) 모든 항목에서 유의한 차이를 보인 반면, 규칙의 경우 학업성취도를 제외한 식생활태도(p<0.001)와 삶의 질(p<0.05)에서 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 셋째, 가족식사 요인과 식생활태도, 학업성취도, 삶의 질 간 관계는 모두 유의한(p<0.01) 양의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 넷째, 가족식사 요인이 식생활태도, 학업성취도, 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 가족식사 빈도와 식생활 태도가 학업성취도(빈도 p<0.001; 식생활태도 p<0.05 및 삶의 질(빈도 p<0.001; 식생활태도 p<0.001)에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 가족식사 요인 중 빈도가 학업성취도(=0.298 p<0.001)와 삶의 질(=0.298 p<0.001)에 미치는 영향력이 상대적으로 가장 컸다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 가족식사의 중요성을 중학생들과 학부모, 교사에게 교육하고 가정과 학교에서 올바른 지도를 위한 교육프로그램을 개발하는 데에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

        Physicochemical and Sensory Characteristics of a Low-Fat Tofu Produced using Supercritical CO2 Extracted Soy Flour

        The potential of supercritical CO2 (SC-CO2)extracted soy flour was evaluated as a raw material forfunctional foods. The fat content in SC-CO2 soy flour wasreduced from 19.5% to 7.1%, which influenced some texturaland sensory properties of soymilk and tofu. The viscosityof low-fat soymilk decreased from 50 to 40 cp. Low-fattofu had a higher yield of 69.7%, compared to a yield of60.8% for full-fat soymilk. The two types of tofu hadsimilar flavor and texture intensity sensory scores, althoughlow-fat tofu had a reduced score for roasted, nutty flavorthan full-fat tofu. The pH of a low-fat tofu immersionsolution during 30 days of storage was lower than for afull-fat tofu solution, particularly during the first 6 days. Alow-fat tofu that is similar to full-fat tofu can be preparedusing SC-CO2 extracted soy flour.

        제왕절개술을 위한 척추마취에서 신체 측정 계수가 저혈압 발생과 ephedrine 사용량에 미치는 영향: 신장, 체중, 체질량지수, 복부둘레의 비교

        Background: Hypotension is a common complication of spinal anesthesia for cesarean delivery. The incidence and severity of hypotension is reported higher compared with other surgeries due to aortocaval compression. We evaluated whether body weight,body height, body mass index (BMI) and abdominal circumference effected on the incidence of hypotension and ephedrine requirement. Methods: A total of 55 parturients undergoing elective cesarean delivery were enrolled in this prospective observational study. Preeclampsia or eclampsia was excluded. Abdominal circumference,body weight, body height were assessed before anesthesia. Spinal anesthesia was conducted in the right lateral position using 8 mg of 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine and 15 μg of fentanyl. Blood pressure was measured before anesthesia and at 1 min interval after intrathecal injection. Nausea was assessed during spinal anesthesia. Hypotension was defined that blood pressure decreased below 80% of baseline value and ephedrine was given if blood pressure dropped below 70% (severe hypotension). Results: The total incidence of hypotension was 65% (36/55) and ephedrine was administered in 38% (21/55) of parturients. Except height, abdominal circumference, body weight and body mass index were associated with the incidence of hypotension (P < 0.05). However, severe hypotension requiring ephedrine (P = 0.001, OR = 1.16, [95% CI 1.04−1.30]), ephedrine requirement (P = 0.001,R = 0.43) and nausea (P = 0.026, R = 0.31) were significantly related only with abdominal circumference. Conclusions: Abdominal circumference of parturients may be a good parameter to predict both of the incidence and the severity of hypotension during spinal anesthesia for cesarean delivery.

        Scrambler Therapy for Patients with Cancer Pain - Case Series -

        More than 80% of cancer patients experience cancer pain. Among them, more than 50% experience moderate to severe pain. To control cancer pain, a variety of methods have been used, including medications and nerve blocks. In some patients, however, it is impossible to perform nerve blocks due to caner metastasis into the epidural space, while in other patients, opioid dose escalation is impossible due to opioid side effects; thus, cancer pain management is difficult. Scrambler therapy is a novel approach for pain control that uses EKG-like pads, which are applied above and below the site of pain. Scrambler therapy synthesizes 16 different types of nerve action potentials that provide “non-pain” information via cutaneous nerves. The advantages of this treatment are that it is non-invasive and safe and has no significant side effects. In this case series, we report the treatment results of using scrambler therapy in three cancer patients with intractable pain.

        대학생을 위한 건강, 환경, 배려의 식생활교육 효과

        The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of dietary education on undergraduate student's health, environment, and consideration. A total of 54 participants were recruited from an undergraduate student in Seoul. We conductive quantitative analysis of a structured questionnaire and qualitative analysis of interviews recorded by photovoice. There are significant differences among knowledge, dietary attitude, and food behavior in the field of health (p<0.001). In the field of health, photovoice data were categorized as 'health care practice', 'Korean dietary lifestyles', or 'awareness of importance of health' (p<0.001). In the field of environment, photovoice data were categorized as 'environment-friendly dietary lifestyle' and 'environmental contamination minimization'(p<0.001). In the field of consideration, photovoice data were categorized as 'gratitude for others', 'joy of cooking'or 'eating meals together'(p<0.01). In conclusion, we found that dietary education about health, environment, and consideration may affect healthy dietary lifestyle among undergraduate students. Our findings may warrant further studies to develop significantly effective dietary education for undergraduate students.

        Association of Soybean Food Intake and Cardiometabolic Syndrome in Korean Women: Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2007 to 2011)

        Background: Soybean food consumption has been considered as a possible way to lower incidence of cardiometabolic syndrome (CMS) among Asians. However, results from studies investigating its efficacy on CMS in Asians have been inconsistent. Methods: We analyzed the association between soybean intake frequency and prevalence of CMS based on data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2007 to 2011. Data of 9,287 women aged 20 to 64 years were analyzed. Food frequency questionnaire was used to assess soybean food consumption frequency. General linear model and multivariable logistic regression model were used to examine the association of soybean intake quintile with CMS and its risk factors. Least square means of metabolic factors mostly showed no significant relevance except liver indexes. Results: Compared to participants in the 1st quintile (<2 times/week of soybean food), odds ratios (OR) for CMS and abdominal obesity (AO) in the 4th quintile (8.5 times/week<soybean food≤17 times/week) were 0.73 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.57 to 0.95) and 0.72 (95% CI, 0.58 to 0.90), respectively. After excluding Tofu products, ORs of CMS, AO, high blood pressure, and hypertriglyceridemia were lower than those without excluding Tofu products. However, results still did not show significant inverse linear trend across frequency quintiles. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that soybean intake of 8.5 to 17 times/week was inversely associated with CMS in Korean women. The relation between soybean intake >17 times/week and CMS varied depending on soybean food items.

        청소년 고카페인 음료 섭취빈도와 정신건강의 관련성 연구

        This study was conducted to investigate the correlation between frequency of high-caffeine energy drink intake in adolescents and their mental health status using data from the Korean adolescent health behaviors online survey (2014-15). Mental health was classified by the five categories: Perception of stress (PS), Insufficient relief of fatigue after sleep (IRFS), Experience of sadness despair (SD), Suicidal ideation (SI), and Subjective unhappiness (SU). Regarding general characteristics, higher age, height, and body weight of subjects were associated with higher frequency of high-caffeine energy drink (HCED) intake (p< .0001). In the OR analysis, when the lowest group (≤2/wk) and highest group (1≥day) were compared, the highest group showed significantly higher OR in all five categories of mental health. According to gender, males did not show better PS, SD, and SI than females who had a high frequency of HCED (p for trend<.0001). According to school level, middle school students showed a higher risk rate than high school students in PS, IRFS, and SD (p for trend< .0001). Based on the above results, higher frequency of HCED intake among adolescents was associated with more adverse effects on mental health.

        청소년들의 체형인식에 따른 영양소 섭취실태 및 정신건강 - 국민건강영양조사 자료를 이용하여 -

        The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of the subjective perception to the nutrient intake and mental health of Korean adolescents by the residual method. This study was based on data from the 5th and 6th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2010-2014) of the 2,961 total subjects(male 1,548, female 1,413, aged 12 to 19 years). The nutrient intake was collected by using the 24 hr recall method and mental health and BMI were collected by the health interview survey and physical examination research. An analysis of the relationship between the subjective perception and BMI showed that the proportion of those with a distorted perception of their body type was the highest among adolescents with normal weight(p for trend, <.001). Especially, regarding the subjective body type, the proportion of adolescents who perceived themselves overweight was significantly higher among females as compared to that among males (p for trend, <.001). An analysis of nutrient intake status against the subjective perception showed that the group of adolescents who perceived themselves overweight had the lowest scores on the index of nutritional quality (INQ), nutritional adequacy ratio (NAR) and mean adequacy ratio (MAR) (p for trend, <.001). With respect to the daily intake of major nutrients, adolescents who perceived themselves overweight consumed the lowest amounts of total energy (p for trend, <.01) and carbohydrate (p for trend,<.001). An analysis of the mental health status of the adolescents showed that those who perceived themselves overweight had the highest levels of stress recognition and depression (p<0.01). In conclusion, the adolescentsʼ subjective perception is associated with their nutrient intake and mental health. Therefore, some educational programs are desirable to help the adolescents to have their desirable subjective perception and to increase their satisfaction with their body type. 본 연구에서는 청소년들을 대상으로 주관적인 체형 인식에 따른 영양소 섭취 문제 및 정신건강 문제를 분석하였다. 제 5기, 6기 (2010-2014년) 국민건강영양조사를 바탕으로 연구되었으며, 만 12~18세의 청소년 3,834명을 추출하여, 결측치를 제외한 총 2,961명(남자 1,548명, 여자 1,413명)을 대상으로 분석하였다. 영양조사 자료는 24시간 회상법을 통한 면접조사를 통해 수집되었으며, 정신건강과 BMI는 건강설문조사와 검진조사를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 자료 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대상자의 주관적 체형인식과 BMI와의 관련성을 살펴본 결과, 남녀 모두 정상체중인 경우 체형을 왜곡되게 인식하는 비율이 높았으며, 특히 자신을 과체중 체형이라 인식하는 대상자가 남학생보다 여학생이 유의적으로 높았다(p<.001). 둘째, 대상자의 주관적 체형인식에 따른 영양소섭취상태를 살펴본 결과, 남녀 모두 과체중인식군이 영양질적지수, 영양소 적정비에서 가장 낮은 수치를 나타냈다(p<0.01). 셋째, 대상자의 주요 영양소에 대한 1일 섭취량을 살펴본 결과, 남녀 모두 과체중인식군이 전체 에너지 섭취량, 탄수화물 섭취량에서 가장 낮은 수치를 나타냈다(p<0.01). 넷째, 대상자들의 주관적 체형인식에 따른 정신건강상태를 살펴본 결과, 대상자 모두 과체중인식군에서 스트레스 인지율과 우울감 정도가 가장 높은 수치를 보였다(p<0.01). 본 연구의 결과 청소년의 주관적 체형 인식이 영양 섭취와 정신건강에 관련이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 청소년기에 바람직한 신체 이미지상를 갖고 자신의 체형에 대한 만족감을 높이며 동시에 올바른 식생활을 할 수 있도록 가정학교사회에서의 올바른 체형 인식과 관련된 교육이 적절하게 이루어져야할 것으로 여겨진다.

        청소년들의 수면시간에 따른 정신건강 및 영양섭취 상태 - 국민건강영양조사(2007-2016년)자료를 이용하여 -

        The purpose of this study was to examine the relevance of mental health and nutritional intake according to the sleep duration of Korean adolescents. This study was based on data from the 2007-2016 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHNES), including 5,489 total subjects (2,795 middle school students, 2,694 high school students). The association between sleep duration and mental health was analyzed using a logistic regression analysis, and the link between sleep duration and nutritional intake was analyzed via a generalized linear model. An analysis of sleep duration showed that middle school students had a higher average sleep duration than high school students (P<0.0001). An analysis of the relationship between sleep duration and mental health showed that middle school students had lower rates of stress perception (P<0.0001) and suicidal ideation (P=0.0005) as their sleep duration increased. High school students had 53% less suicidal ideation in the group getting 6-7 hours compared to the group getting less than 6 hours, and 37% less suicidal ideation than the group getting 7-8 hours. The link between sleep duration and stress perception was statistically significant among both middle and high school students (P for interaction=0.02). An analysis of the daily intake of major nutrients according to sleep hours found high intake of vitamin C in groups where high school students slept more than nine hours (P=0.003). The state of nutritional intake according to higher sleep duration showed statistically significant differences between higher intake of phosphorus, riboflavin, niacin, and vitamin C in Nutrient Adequacy Ratio for high school students. In conclusion, adolescents’ sleep duration is associated with stress perception, suicidal ideation and nutritional intake. Therefore, this study emphasizes the mental importance of adolescent sleep and can be used as a basis for nutrition education. 본 연구는 우리나라 중・고등학생의 수면시간의 특성과 정신건강 문제, 영양섭취 상태의 관련성을 조사하였다. 이를 위해 2007~2016년 국민건강영양조사 원시자료를 바탕으로 총 5,489명(중학생 2,795명, 고등학생 2,694명)을 대상으로 분석하였다. 수면시간과 정신건강과의 연관성은 로지스틱 회기분석을 사용하여 분석하였고, 수면시간과 영양 섭취량의 연관성은 일반선형모델로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수면시간을 분석한 결과, 중학생이 고등학생보다 평균 수면시간이 더 많았다(P<0.0001). 둘째, 수면시간과 정신건강 문제의 관련성은 중학생의 경우 수면시간이 증가할수록 스트레스 인지율(P<0.0001)과 자살생각 여부(P=0.0005)는 유의적으로 더 낮게 나타났다. 고등학생은 수면시간이 6-7시간인 그룹이 6시간 미만인 그룹에 비해 자살생각이 53% 더 적었고, 7-8시간인 그룹이 6시간 미만인 그룹에 비해 자살생각이 37% 더 적었다. 수면시간에 따른 스트레스 인지 여부의 연관성은 중학생과 고등학생 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(P for interaction=0.02). 셋째, 수면시간에 따른 주요 영양소 1일 섭취량은 고등학생의 경우 수면시간이 9시간 이상인 그룹에서 비타민C의 섭취량이 높은 것으로 나타났다(P=0.003). 넷째, 수면시간에 따른 영양소 섭취상태는 고등학생의 경우 수면시간이 길수록, 인, 리보플라빈, 나이아신, 비타민C가 영양소 적정비와 평균영양소 적정비가 증가하였다. 청소년의 수면시간과 스트레스 인지와 자살생각 그리고 영양소 섭취상태는 연관성이 있음을 알 수 있었으며 이러한 결과는 청소년기 수면이 가지는 정신적 중요성을 강조하고, 영양교육의 기초자료로 이용될 수 있을 것이다.

        한국 성인의 비타민C 섭취와 비만 유병률의 연관성 - 2016-2017년 국민건강영양조사 자료를 이용하여 -

        This study investigates the relationship between vitamin C intake and obesity prevalence among Korean adults. Based on data of the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2017), a total of 1,356 participants were included in this analysis. Increasing the dietary vitamin C intake resulted in a significantly decreased occurrence of BMI obesity prevalence (p for trend=0.0194) and WC obesity prevalence (p for trend=0.0452). Moreover, increasing the dietary vitamin C intake of Korean adults having a high frequency of eating breakfast resulted in significantly decreased BMI obesity prevalence (p for trend=0.0406) and WC obesity prevalence (p for trend=0.0432). Among the Korean adults who ate out frequently, decreased BMI obesity prevalence was determined with increased intakes of dietary vitamin C (p for trend=0.0193) and total vitamin C (food and dietary supplements) (p for trend=0.0429), whereas significant decrease in WC obesity prevalence was observed with increased dietary vitamin C intake (p for trend=0.0484). Our results provide conclusive evidence that consumption of dietary vitamin C is associated with obesity prevalence in Korean adults, according to their habits of eating breakfast and frequency of eating out.
