      • 임플란트 식립을 위한 상악동 점막 거상술의 결과

        Background: Although dental implantation has become widespread and acceptable treatment for dental prosthodontics, maxillary posterior jaw region is often complicated by the pneumatization of the maxillary sinus and physiological resorption of the alveolar bone. When this occurs, the residual bone between the floor of the sinus and the crestal ridge is inadequate for the placement of implants. The sinus elevation procedure provides a way to increase the amount of available bone and to allow the placement of longer implants. Materials & methods: We studied 11 patients requiring the implant placements and the maxillary sinus elevation simultaneously from 1996 to 2003 in our clinic. Nine patients were males and two patients were females, aged from 39 to 72(mean=51.6). Four patients had medical compromised states; angina pectoris, diabetes, hypertension, hepatitis. Patients didn't show any pathologic findings clinically or radiographically. We studied the success and survival rate of implants, factors increasing the osseointegrating capacity of implants. Results: The success rate of osseointegration of implants was 93%. At least 6 months after loading on implants, the survival rate of implants was 78.5%. Autogenous bone graft and adequate residual bone height(>6mm) increased survival rate of implants. Conclusion: Successful implant placement with maxillary sinus elevation mainly depends on sufficient residual bone height, healthy maxillary sinus, autogenous bone graft.

        Nowadays, environment pollution caused by development of industrial society becomes a serious social problem. So, ozonized gas is suggested as a counter plan against the problem. In this paper, a double cylindrical type ozonizer has been designed and manufactured to improve ozone yield by cooling external electrode. The ozonizer equipped with three electrodes(central, internal and external electrodes) and two gaps. Discharge and ozone characteristics are described in this paper by varying flow rate( Q ) of oxygen suppling gas, temperature of cooling gas and supplied voltage.

      • 土壤因子가 이태리 포플러의 生長에 미치는 영향

        이태리포플러의 生長에 가장 影響을 많이 주는 土壤困子를 찾기 위해서 이태리포플러 适林地 23個 地域을 河川邊, 農耕地, 山麓部로 區分하여 그 生長과 土壤困子와의 關係를 調査하였다. 이태리포플러의 生長은 土壤環境 條件이 有利한 河川變의 适林地가 優秀하였고, 山麓部의 适林地는 河川變에 比하여 21%나 生長이 떨어지므로 收益性이 없을 것으로 생각되며, 農耕地의 适林地는 土壤이 肥沃하여 生長이 良好할 것으로 생각되었으나, 河川變에 比하여 生長이 8%정도 떨어졌다. 그러나 農耕地中 堆積地나 盛土部는 生長이 比較的 良好하였다. 이태리포플러의 生長이 良好한 适林地의 土壤은 대체로 液相 20%, 土壤孔隙率 45%, 溶水量 35∼40%, 土壤硬度 1kg/cm²土壤에H 6인 곳이었으며, 有機物과 全質素가 많은 곳에서 生長이 良好하였다. 이태리포플러의 生長이 良好한 造林地의 土壤은 대체로 液相 20%, 土壤孔隙率 45%, 容水量 35∼40%, 土壤硬度 1kg/cm², 土壤pH 6인 곳이었으며, 有機物과 全窒素가 많은 곳에서 生長이 良好하였다. 이태리포플러의 生長에 影響을 미치는 土壤困子에 대한 要困分析을 한 結果 eigenvalue가 1以下 communality가 70% 以下되는 要困 1은 液相, 孔隙率, 溶水量, 要困 2는 土壤 pH 및 칼슘, 要困 3은 土壤硬度로 나타났다. 그러므로 이태리포플러의 生長은 土壤의 化學的 性質보다는 物理的 性質에 더 많은 影響을 받는 것으로 생각된다 이태리포플러의 直徑生長과 土壤困子간 多重回歸分析에서 土壤硬度, 液相 및 칼슘에 대한 t-value가 1∼10%의 有意性이 認定되므로 線型模型式이 成立되었고 溶水量과 土壤 pH는 有意性이 없었다. 綜合的으로 보면 이태리포플러의 适林適地는 堆積地인 砂質壤土 혹은 盛土部로서 土壤硬度가 낮고 通氣性이 良好하며, 地下水位가 100cm 內外로 土壤水分이 適當하고 有機物과 全質素가 充分한 弱酸性 土壤이 좋을 것으로 判斷된다. In order to evaluate soil factors affecting the growth of Italian poplar, 23 areas planted with Italian poplar were surveyed. These 23 areas were classified into 3 catergories, ricer-side, fallow-land and hill-side. The growth performance and soil factors for each area were investigated. The growth of Italian poplar at river-side was shown to be superior to that of fallow-land and fill-side. The rates of growth for fallow-land and hill-side are decreased by 8% and 21% compared to those of river-side, respectively. This suggests that plantation Italian poplar at hill-side would not be profitable. Soil conditions of high productive area appeared liquid phase 20%, porosity 45%, water holding capacity 35-40%, soil hardness 1kg/㎠, pH 6 and rich in organic matter and total nitrogen. The results of factor analysis for soil factors affecting to Italian poplar growth that showed eigenvalue over 1 and communality value over 70% explained factor 1 : liquid phase, porosity and water holding capacity, factor 2 : pH and calcium, and factor 3 : soil hardness. This suggests that physical characteristics of soil is more important than chemical characteristics for Italian poplar growth. Multiregerssion analysis was conducted between diameter growth and soil hardness, liquid phase and calcium. The t-values for each independent variables showed significance at 1-10% level, but water holding capacity and pH are not significant. It is supposed that sites suitable to Italian poplar were alluvial plain of sandy loam or part of banking soil, well-ventilating soil. lower soil hardness, apposite soil moisture absorbing with about 100㎝of ground water level, plentiful organic matters and total nitrogen and little acidity soil.

      • Aldrin의 광증감 분해에 관한 연구

        Sensitized photooxidation of aldrin was carried out using anions as sensitizers. Persulfate, nitrate ions were proved to be effective to enhance the photooxidation of aldrin. Nitrite ion was inhibited to the photooxidation of aldrin. In the case of sulfate and chloride ion, however, no significant enhancement effect was observed. The sensitizing effect increased with increasing persulfate and nitrate concentration. Nitrite ion was oxidated to nitrate by photolysis reaction. The sensitized effect decreased with increasing nitrite concentration.

      • 수용액중 Carbaryl의 광증감 산화분해에 관한 연구

        Sensitized photooxidation of carbaryl was carried out using persulfate ion, sulfate ion, nitrate ion, nitrite ion and chloride ion as sensitizers. Persulfate, nitrate, chloride and sulfate ions were proved to be effective to enhance the photooxidation of carbaryl. In the case of nitrite ion, however, no significant enhancement effect was observed. The sensitizing effect increased with increasing persulfate concentration, while nitrate ion showed the greatest sensitizing effect at 5㎎/l. When existed together with other ions, nitrite ion exhibited negative effect by scavenging the produced active hydroxyl radicals. It was also found that the rate of photo-oxidation of carbaryl in the presence of both the nitrate and persulfate was much faster than that in the presence of nitrate of persulfate singly.

      • 5-Fluorouracil로 유발된 백서후지의 선천성 기형

        To study the teratogenic mechanism of 5-fluorouracil on the developing rat hindlimbs and to reveal the congenital anomalies induced by 5-FU, 25mg/kg of 5-fluorouracil was injected intramuscularly into S-D rats on gestational day 10.5. The rats were sacrificed under ether anesthesia on gestational day 11.5, 12.5, 13.5, 14.5, 15.5, 16.5 and 17.5. The whole uterine horns were removed for observing the congenital anomalies of the hindlimbs with stereoscope. Some fetuses were fixed by the neutral buffered formalin solution for LM exmination and some hindlimbs were fixed by 2.5% glutaraldehyde solution for TEM and SEM examination. After routine processing, LM and TEM examination were performed. The results were as follows ; 1. The mean survival rate of 5-fluorouracil-treated rat fetuses was decreased sign ificantly(p<0.01) compared with that of the control group. 2. The mean body weight of the 5-fluorouracil-treated rat fetuses on gestaticnal day 17.5 was significantly lower (p<0.01) than that of the control group. 3. The congenital anomalies on the hindlimbs of the rat fetuses were 4 digit, short digit, 3 digit, and 2 digit anomalies in that order. These anomalies occured moreon the right limb about 2.6 times than on the left limb. 4. On LM and TEM examination, 5-fluorouracil injured the apical ectodermal ridge epithelial cells and mesenchymal cells of hindlimb bud initially, but, this recovered around gestational day 14.5. According to the above results, 5-fluorouracil-induced congenital anomalies of the hindlimbs of rat fetuses may be caused by injury to the apical ectodermal ridge epithelial cells of limb bud. Apical ectodermal ridge epithelial cells that have recovered from injury around gestational day 14.5 may elicit changed information of abnormal patterning and differentiation into the underlying mesenchymal cells in progress zone, and the various digital anomalies, such as oligodactyly and short digit anomalies will be resulted.

      • 菟絲子 의效能에 대한 硏究

        The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Semen Cuscutae on phenylephrine(PE) and KCI induced contraction of isolated rat thoracic aorta. Contractile force was measured with force displacement transducer under 1.5 g loading tension. Contraction evoked by PE (ED_(50)) was relaxed significantly by Semen Cuscutae. The mean percent relaxing of PE induced contraction was 60.6% (p<0.01) after 300 ㎕/㎖ Semen Cuscutae, but the mean percent contraction of KCI induced contraction was 10.4% (p<0.05) after 300 ㎕/㎖ Semen Cuscutae. Vasorelaxation by Semen Cuscutae was significantly reduced after with and without endothelial cells. Pretreatment of aortic rings with L-NAME (100 μM), a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, indomethacin (3 μM), an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, methylene blue (10 μM), guanylyl cyclase inhibitor, propranolol (1 μM), a β-adrenoceptor antagonist, atropine (1 μM), a muscarinic receptor antagonist and diltiazem (10 μM), a Ca^(2+)-channel blocker was recovered the effect aorta. These results indicate that Semen Cuscutae can relax EP induced contraction of isolated rat thoracic aorta and that this increasing contraction related to epithelium and various effect.

      • 자궁경부종양에서 Cathepsin-D 표현의 의의

        Various clinical and histopathologic characteristics are currently used to obtain prognostic information about cervical carcinoma, but they do not predict the outcome for any individual patients. Thus, there is a need to identify additional tumor characteristics that are able to predict more accurately the outcome for an individual patient with cervical cancer. In this study, we explored the relationship between cathepsin-D expression and progression of the cervical neoplasia, the correlation between response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and cathepsin-D expression, and we investigated if tumor cell cathepsin-D expression could serve as a prognostic factor in cervical carcinoma. Tumor tissues were obtained from 14 patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and 52 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix. Cathepsin-S expression was identified by immunohistochemical methods using monoclonal antibody cathepsin-D (BioGene). Positive cathepsin-D immunoreaction in greater than 30% of carcinoma cells was scored as high expression. High cathepsin-D expression was seen in 15 of 52 invasive cancer but was absent in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. It was shown that cathepsin-D expression was independent of the rumor grade, tumor size, lymph node involvement, depth of invasion, parametrial invasion, and response to chemotherapy. In disease free survival analysis by log-rank test, cathepsin-D expression was not significantly associated with survival. These results show that cathepsin-D expression is not a clinically useful adjunct to assessment of prognosis in invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix.
