It is important to interpret the soil chemical properties in order to effectively manage the farmland. This study was conducted to investigate the soil chemical properties of upland soybean field according to the soil series at 32 upland fields located in the parts of Gangwon-do. Soil sampling sites were selected by using the National Statistics DB and KSIS DB that is a soil environment information system provided by the Rural Development Administration. Soil samples were collected from 0~15 cm of top soil before seeding or transplanting, air-dried, passed through a 2 mm sieve, and analyzed for soil pH, EC, organic matter, available phosphorus (P2O5), exchangeable potassium, exchangeable calcium and exchangeable magnesium. The average chemical properties have exceeded the each nutrient optimum range level of RDA, except the organic matter in experimental soil 2015. And despite application of conventional fertilization, each soil series nutrient contents were change respectively. The results of this study suggest that conventional fertilization should be applied based on the analysis about the amount of accumulated nutrient contents in the soil.

The characteristics of protease from squid viscera was investigated by response surface methodology(RSM) programmed with reaction temperature and pH. The optimal temperature and pH for the protease were 41.75℃ and pH 6.02 respectively. Also its activity was 78.65 unit at the optimal condition and R² of the model was 0.8461(P<0.1). The protease activity was decreased by Na^(+) and increased by Mg^(2+). But K^(+) did not affect the protease. The Km value against casein was determined to be 0.12 mM by Line-weaver-Burk plot.

In dorsal laminectomy for the surgical treatment of thoracolumbar disc disease in dog, the bur could slip into the vertebral canal. For the decrease of this probability of danger, osteotome was used with instruments such as bur and rongeur in dorsal laminectomy. At thoracic vertebrae (T10-T11) and lumbar vertebrae (L5-L6) area, dorsal laminectomys were performed in a dog. In observation for 3 months after surgery, the dog revealed healthy physical condition. For the confirmation of healing condition at 3 months after dorsal laminectomy, two surgical sites were exposed by incision. Excellent healing response was observed with no adhesion and fibrosis in the vertebral canal.

Postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) is a new emerging disease in swine herds world wide, and porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is known as a major cause of PMWS. In this study, the prevalence of PCV2 Rep gene was examined for the serum, nasal swabs and feces collected from 30 heads of piglets affected with PMWS and 10 heads of normal healthy piglets using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The diagnostic efficiency of the PCR was evaluated for different types of samples. Rep gene of the isolate (PCV2 S1) was then sequenced. In the group of PMWS-affected piglets, the prevalence of PCR-positive were 70.0% in sera, 33.3% in nasal swabs and 0% in feces. In the normal healthy group, the PCR-positive rates of sera, nasal swabs and feces were 30%, 20% and 0%, respectively. Seven piglets (17.5%) out of 40 showed the simultaneously positive results in both of sera and nasal swabs. The nucleotide sequence homology of Rep gene of PCV2 S1 as compared with the reference strain of PCV2 (GenBank accesson no.AF027217) was 99.3%.

To evaluate the clinical efficacy of ciprofloxacin (CFX) on treatment of the pigs with respiratory diseases or diarrhea. CFX at various dosages were administered intramuscularly to the diseased pigs selected from the pig farms located in Chungnam province. One hundreds and fourteen heads of pigs with respiratory diseases were divided into five groups and CFX at 0.25, 0.5, 1.0 (= 2.5mg CFX/Kg B.W.) and 2.0 doses were administered i.m. for 5 days. The recovery rates were found 31.8%, 73.9%, 91.3% and 92.0%, respectively, being higher than that of the untreated control group (19.0%). The mortality of the treated groups were 0%, that is lower than that of the control (9.5%). Seven kinds of bacteria were isolated from the respiratory organs of 86 pigs, and 34 (39.5%) of 86 pigs showed the complicated infection. In analyzing by the pigs infected with a single pathogen as P. multocida; A. pleuropneumonia. Staphyloccus spp. or Mymplasma spp., the recovery rates were 0∼66.6% at 0.25 dose, 66.6∼100% at 0.5 dose and 100% in all of 4 pathogens at 1.0 to 2.0 doses. At 0.25 dosage the pigs infected with A. pleuropneumonia showed the lowest recovery rate. One hundreds and twenty two heads of pigs with diarrhea were divided into five groups and CFX at 0.25, 0.5, 1.0 (= 2.5mg CFX/Kg B.W.) and 2.0 doses were administered i.m. for 5 days. The recovery rates were 29.1 %, 40.0%, 80.0% and 88.0%, respectively. The mortality of the treated groups were 0∼8.3%, being much lower than that of the control. Four kinds of bacteria were isolated from the fecal specimens of 94 pigs, and 84 (89.0%) of 94 pigs showed the complicated infection.

The optimum recipe of persimmon chokochujang using persimmon vinegar and kochujang was established by four-dimensional response surface methodology. The organoleptic color of persimmon chokochujang showed maximum score in 18.16g of persimmon vinegar, 5.58g of garlic and 1.62g of sucrose. The organoleptic aroma of persimmon chokochujang showed maximum score in 18.19g of persimmon vinegar, 4.57g of garlic and 2.06g of sucrose. The organoleptic taste of persimmon chokochujang showed maximum score in 19.28 g of persimmon vinegar, 4.97g of garlic and 2.34g of sucrose. The organoleptic color of persimmon chokochujang showed maximum score in 18.81 g of persimmon vinegar, 4.81g of garlic and 2.65g of sucrose. Optimum mixing ranges for organoleptic properties of persimmon chokochujang were 18.25~19.25g of persimmon vinegar, 4.60~5.00g of garlic and 2.06~2.65g of sucrose.

Response surface methodology (RSM) was used for optimizing preparation conditions and monitoring the quality of buckwheat mook prepared using buckwheat starch. The textures(hardness, adhesiveness cohesiveness and gumminess) of buckwheat mook were decreased in inverse proportion to the increase of water content. The L and b values of Hunter color parameters in buckwheat mook were increased in proportion to the increase of water content. However, The a value of Hunter color parameters of buckwheat mook were decreased in inverse proportion to the increase of water content. Organoleptic properties(color, form, taste and mouth-feel) of buckwheat mook showed a maximum score in 700㎖(water content), 14min(gelatinization time).
