        피질이형성증과 동반된 난치성 간질의 외과적 치료

        The advent of neuroimaging technique has enabled the accurate diagnosis of structural abnormalities associated with intractable epilepsy. Among these, neuronal migration disorders(NMDs) or cortical dysplasias(CDs) involving cerebral cortex are increasingly recognized as a major cause of intractable epilepsy. CDs are expressed as variety of forms depending upon the time of injury to the developing nervous system. CDs are highly and intrinsically epileptogenic. It is crucial to completely resect the epileptogenic zone in focal CDs for better seizure outcome. Hemispherectomy or multilobar resection is preferred for hemimegalencephaly. Callosotomy can be chosen in the diffuse CDs who have intractable drop attacks. However, resective surgery can benefit the selected patients with diffuse CDs if localizing information persists.

        연안 도시 대기오염 물질의 농도분포 특성

        This paper aims to find the characteristics of concentration distribution of coastal urban air pollutants. For this purpose, It was used the daily meteorological data and hourly concentration data O_3 and NO_2 in Busan metropolitan city from 1994 to 1996. It was investigated the annual and monthly distribution of ozone and nitrogen dioxide concentration at each site in Busan, and also investigated the characteristics of concentration change of air pollutants with time under the sea breeze. As a results, the concentration of nitrogen dioxide and ozone tend to be increased every year and nitrogen dioxide concentration is higher than ozone concentration at all site in Busan. The concentration of ozone is high in summer season and low in winter season, but the concentration of nitrogen dioxide have a reversed trend. The monthly peak concentration of ozone occurred in April and September, while the monthly minimum concentration of nitrogen dioxide occurred in August. Their trend were indentified by sites near the coastline than sites stands apart from the coastline. The sea breeze occurred annual mean 81 days in Busan from 1994 to 1996. The main wind direction of sea breeze was classified into southeasterly. In case of southwesterly, It was pronounced the south wind and southwest wind. In case of southeasterly, the occurrence frequency of east wind was high. Especially, the concentration of urban air pollutants, such as ozone and nitrogen dioxide, were high on time which the sea breeze flow, and the areas that ozone concentration was high moved from outside part to central part of city with time. In costal urban such as Busan, the wind direction of sea breeze is influenced the influenced the change of ozone and nitrogen dioxide concentration on time which the sea breeze flow at each site and air pollutants concentration of sites on the pathway of sea breeze.

        Analysis of Microbiological Contamination in Kimchi and Its Ingredients

        본 연구에서는 김치 제조시 철저한 재료 세척의 필요성을 확인하고, 더불어 비가열 식품인 김치의 위생 안전성 실태를 파악하여 효율적 미생물 저감화 방안을 마련하고자 국내에서 유통되는 김치 원·부재료 200건의 세척 전과 후의 비교분석과 시판 김치 100건에 대하여 미생물 분석을 실시하였다. 김치 원·부재료 및 완제품에 대하여 일반 세균수, 대장균 및 대장균군을 모니터링 하였으며, 병원성 미생물 9종(Bacillus cereus, Clostridium perfringens 정성·정 량, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli, Campylobacter jejuni/coli, Yersinia enterocolitica, Salmonella spp., Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Listeria monocytogenes 정성)을 분석 하였다. 모니터링 결과, 김치 원· 부재료 및 완제품에서 일반세균은 1.4~9.0 log CFU/g 수준 으로 확인되었으며, 원·부재료 중 생강에서 8.8 log CFU/g, 완제품 중 총각김치에서 9.0 log CFU/g으로 일반세균이 가장 높게 나타났다. 대장균군은 0.5~7.3 log CFU/g으로 확 인되었으며, 생강에서 7.3 log CFU/g으로 가장 높게 나타 났고, 병원성 미생물 9종의 분석결과, Bacillus cereus를 제 외한 나머지 8종의 식중독균은 모든 시료에서 검출되지 않았다. 김치 제조 시 사용되는 김치 원·부재료들의 세척 공정 후 미생물 수는 일반세균수 0.2~3.2 log CFU/g, 대장 균군 0.3~2.7 log CFU/g, Bacillus cereus 1.0~3.9 log CFU/g 감소하였다. 따라서, 김치 원·부재료의 세척 공정으로 미생물 오염도를 감소 시켰으며, 이 결과를 통하여 김치 완 제품의 위생 및 저장성 증진에 기여 할 수 있을 것으로 확인되었다. Although Kimchi has health benefits, food poisoning associated with consumption of Kimchi has been frequently reported. Accordingly, microbiological properties of Kimchi (100 samples) and washing effects on microbial reduction against its ingredients (200 samples) were examined. Total aerobic bacteria, coliforms, Escherichia coli, Bacillus cereus, and Clostridium perfringens were quantified. In addition, B. cereus, Salmonella spp., Enterohemorrhagic E. coli, C. perfringens, Campylobacter jejuni/coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Listeria monocytogenes, and Yersinia enterocolitica were analysed qualitatively. Total aerobic bacteria count was approximately 1.4-9.0 log CFU/g, which were highest in ginger (8.8 log CFU/g), and Chonggak Kimchi (9.0 log CFU/g). The range of coliform counts detected in all raw materials was 0.5-7.3 log CFU/g and ginger showed the greatest number 7.3 log CFU/g among others. Contamination was decreased to 0.2-3.2, 0.3-2.7, and 1.0-3.9 log CFU/ g for total aerobic bacteria, coliforms, and B. cereus, respectively, after washing. Minimising microbial contamination in Kimchi ingredients is necessary to ensure the safety of Kimchi. These results indicate that washing is a useful method to reduce bacterial contamination in Kimchi.

        Synergistic Effects of Combined Disinfecting Treatments Using Sanitizers and UV to Reduce Levels of Bacillus cereus in Oyster Mushroom

        Effects of sanitizers and UV light irradiation on foodborne pathogen, Bacillus cereus F4810/72 found on oyster mushroom were investigated at 10, 30, 50, and 70% ethanol, 100, 500, 1000, 1500, and, 2000 ppm hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$), 20, 60, 100, 150, and 200 ppm sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), and UV exposure doses at 6, 96, 216, 360, and $504mWs/cm^2$ were evaluated. The combined sanitizers/UV treatments resulted in greater reductions in bacterial counts than either treatment alone. The synergy values of combined ethanol/UV, $H_2O_2$/UV and NaClO/UV treatment for B. cereus were 0.14-1.59, 0.05-0.88, and 0.09-0.81 $log_{10}$ CFU/g, respectively. These findings suggest that a significant synergistic benefit results from combined sanitizer/UV treatment in eliminating food-borne pathogens on oyster mushroom.

        Synergistic effects of combined treatment of sanitizers, including ethanol, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), and UV radiation on eliminating Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 35556 found in oyster mushrooms were evaluated. Various concentrations of ethanol (10, 30, 50, and 70%), H2O2 (100, 500, 1000, 1500, and 2000 ppm) and NaOCl (20, 60, 100, 150, and 200 ppm) were tested along with various UV exposure doses (6, 96, 216, 360, and 504 mWs/cm2). The combined sanitizers/UV treatments produced greater reductions in bacterial counts than either treatment alone. The synergistic values of combined ethanol/UV, H2O2/UV, and NaOCl/UV treatment with regards to the elimination of S. aureus were 0.93-2.35, 0.07-0.93, and 0.06-0.89 log10 colony forming unit (CFU)/g, respectively. These results suggest that the significant synergistic benefit in eliminating food-borne pathogens on oyster mushroom results from combined sanitizer/UV treatment.

        1. 본 시험에 공시된 7개의 찰옥수수 계통중에서 간장은 IK/H26-2, Heunchal, 239-3, IK/H26-1 계통이 대조품종인 Chalok 1호보다 큰 반면에 Local-1, Local-2, IK/LE 계통은 작게 나타났다. 2. 착수고의 경우 Local-2, IK/LE는 각각 23.3㎝, 35㎝로 대조품종보다 낮았으며, 주당 분얼수는 대조품종인 찰옥1호와 약간의 차이를 보였다. 3. 이삭의 경직경은 IK/H26-1, IK/H26-2, Local-2 239-3 계통 등에서 대조품종보다 낮았고 Local-1, IK/LE, Heunchal 계통 등에서는 다소 굵었다. 4. 출사일수는 Local-1, Local-2, IK/LE 등에서 대조품종보다 2일정도 빨랐고 239-3, Heunchal 등에서는 각각 61일, 60일로 다소 늦은 반면에 IK/H26-1, IK/H26-2 등에서는 대조품종과 동일하였다. 특히, 공시 수집종 계통 중에서 Local-2가 55일로 가장 짧은 기간을 나타내어 조숙 찰옥수수 교잡종의 육성 자료로 이용에 유리할 것으로 판단되었다. This study was carried out to identity the major characteristics of inbred lines and to develop early waxy colored hybrid at the Maize Genetics and Breeding Lab. in Chungnam National University. The eight colored waxy maize were planted on April 27, 2007 under Randomized Completely Block (RCB) Design with three replications. Stem height of IK1/H26-2 and Heunchal lines in this experiment were high as 196㎝ and 186㎝ compared to control as 156㎝, respectively, while ear height of Local-2 and IK/LE were lower than that of check and ear diameter of IK/H26-1, IK/H26-2 and Local-2 were 10.3㎜, 17.7㎜ and 18㎜ compared to control (21㎜), respectively. Days to tasseling of Local-1, Local-2, and IK/LE lines were earlier than check. As a result of this experiment, the developed inbred lines were regard as useful germplasm for early hybrid development.
