        In Vitro Antiviral Activity of Ribavirin Against Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome Virus Myung Jin LEE1, Kye-Hyung KIM1, Jongyoun YI2, SuJin CHOI1, Chung-Jong KIM1, Nak- Hyun KIM1, Kyoung-Ho SONG1, Pyoeng Gyun CHOI1, Ji-Hwan BANG1, Wan Beom PARK1, Eu Suk KIM1, Sang-Won PARK1, Hong Bin KIM1, Nam Joong KIM1, Myoung- Don OH1 Seoul National University College of Medicine, Korea1, Pusan National University School of Medicine, Korea2 Background: Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging infectious disease caused by a novel Bunyavirus, severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV). No effective antiviral therapy is proven yet, but clinical use of ribavirin (RBV) has been tried. We investigated the antiviral effect of RBV against SFTSV in vitro. Methods: To test for cytotoxicity of RBV, Vero cells were treated with different concentrations of RBV (3.90 to 500 μg/mL, two-fold dilution) and analyzed by cell viability MTS assay 48h post-infection. To determine antiviral activity of RBV against SFTSV, Vero cells were infected with SFTSV strain Gangwon/Korea/2012 at 100 TCID50 (50% tissue culture infective dose) per well in a 96-well plate, and RBV was added at the concentrations showing no or minimal cytotoxicity. Viral RNAs were extracted from the culture supernatants and quantifi ed using one-step real-time reverse transcription- PCR to amplify the partial large segment of SFTSV. Statistical analysis was done by one-way ANOVA with Tukey`s post hoc test. Results: Cytotoxicity due to RBV was not observed at RBV concentration =31.3 μg/ mL. Viral RNAs at 24h post-RBV treatment were reduced with increasing RBV concentrations (1-32 μg/mL), compared with those of mock-treated cells (P <0.01, Figure). Half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of RBV was 3.69 μg/mL at 24h post-RBV treatment. Conclusions: Our study shows that RBV has antiviral effect against SFTSV in a dose-dependent manner. Further studies are required to evaluate the effi cacy of RBV in SFTS.

      • 대인ㆍ대내인간 통합적 의사소통 프로그램 개발

        연구는 대인, 대내인간 통합적 의사소통 훈련 프로그램을 개발하기 위하여 실시되었다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 먼저 선행연구와 임상경험을 토대로 프로그램을 구성하였다. 구성된 프로그램의 효과는 동신대학교 남·여 대학생 30명을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 구분한 후, 총 24시간(6X4)의 프로그램을 실시하여 사전-사후간의 차이를 비교, 검증하였다. 측정도구는 문제해결에 대한 자기평가검사와 자아존중감검사를 사용하였는데, 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대인간·대내인간 통합적 의사소통 훈련 프로그램이 지각된 문제해결능력에 미치는 효과를 검증한 결과, 유의수준 .001에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 대내인간 통합적 의사소통 훈련 프로그램이 자아존중감에 미치는 효과를 검증한 결과, 유의수준 .001에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 따라서 대인간·대내인간 통합적 의사소통 훈련 프로그램은 문제해결능력과 자아존중감 향상에 효과가 있다고 할 수 있다. This study has a goal to develop of the Integrated(Inter·Intra) Communication Training Program. The Integrated(Inter·Intra) Communication Training Program based on preceding research and clinical experience was developed. The subject of this study were 30 Dongsin university students. They divided into experimental group and control group, and then experienced 24 hours program. to examine the effects of Measurement instruments were Problem Solving Inventory and Self-Esteem Inventory. The results are as follow: 1) The results of The Integrated(Inter·Intra) Communication Training Program at a problem solving ability is revealed on significant difference(p<.001). 2) The results of The Integrated(Inter·Intra) Communication Training Program at increasing of self-esteem is revealed on significant difference(p<.001). For that reason The Integrated(Inter·Intra) Communication Training Program is effective to problem solving ability and increasing of self-esteem.

      • 회전자 구조에 따른 SRM의 토오크 특성해석

        The switched reluctance motor(SRM) has a simple rotor construction with no windings. It also has simple concentrated windings on the stator. Thus, it is expected to be a lower cost machine to manufacture than the squirrel cage induction motor. This paper presents an advanced rotor structure type, well-round rotor type in SRM. To design the improved SRM we have used FEM and studied and compared with each other. The static torque, instantaneous torque and average torque are more improved than that of typical rotor type which has been a lot of used for SRM.

        초등학생의 놀이성과 정서지능간의 관계

        본 연구는 초등학생의 놀이성과 정서지능과의 관계를 밝히기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구 대상은 초등학교 4, 5학년 562명이고 측정도구는 최태산, 최명선, 조미정(2008)의 초등학생용 놀이성 척도와 문용린(1996)의 정서 지능 척도가 사용되었다. 통계자료분석은 빈도와 백분율, Cronbach α, 피어선의 단순 상관계수, 중다회귀분석을 사용하여 실시되었다. 연구의 결과를 요약하면, 남녀 초등학생의 경우 정서적 놀이성과 사회적 놀이성은 정서지능 전반에 걸쳐 중요한 설명 변인임을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 기발성과 재미탐닉은 정서표현성을 제외한 모든 정서지능 변인을 설명하였다. 성별에 대한 특징적 결과로 남자 초등학생의 경우는 유머감각이 정서인식과 정서조절력을 떨어뜨리고 여아의 경우 유머감각과 재미탐닉은 정서활용성을 떨어뜨린다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 초등학생을 대상으로 하는 상담현장과 부모와 교사교육을 위한 기초자료로 활용 될 수 있을 것이다. The purpose of this study is to characterize correlation between playfulness and emotional competence of children. The subjects of this study were 562 elementary school students from 4th to 5th grade. The instrument were Playfulness Scale for School-Aged Children(Cho Mee Jeong, & Choi Tae San, & Choi Myung Seon, 2008) and Emotional Intelligence Scale(Moon Yong Lyn, 1996). Pearson`s correlation and Multiple regression were used to analyze the research data. The results of this study were as follows: First, in case of elementary school students, emotional playfulness and social playfulness were meaningful explanatory variables throughout the emotional development. Second, except for emotional expressiveness, inquisitiveness and pursuit of fun explained all emotional development variables. Notably, In boys` case, sense of humor reduced emotional cognition and emotional regulation. and, In girls` case, sense of humor and pursuit of fun dropped emotional utilization. These results of this study could be used as the basis data for counselling environment for elementary school students and parents and training teachers.

        Validity of palatal superimposition of 3-dimensional digital models in cases treated with rapid maxillary expansion and maxillary protraction headgear

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity of the 3-dimensional (3D) superimposition method of digital models in patients who received treatment with rapid maxillary expansion (RME) and maxillary protraction headgear. Methods: The material consisted of pre- and post-treatment maxillary dental casts and lateral cephalograms of 30 patients, who underwent RME and maxillary protraction headgear treatment. Digital models were superimposed using the palate as a reference area. The movement of the maxillary central incisor and the first molar was measured on superimposed cephalograms and 3D digital models. To determine whether any difference existed between the 2 measuring techniques, intra-class correlation (ICC) and Bland-Altman plots were analyzed. Results: The measurements on the 3D digital models and cephalograms showed a very high correlation in the antero-posterior direction (ICC, 0.956 for central incisor and 0.941 for first molar) and a moderate correlation in the vertical direction (ICC, 0.748 for central incisor and 0.717 for first molar). Conclusions: The 3D model superimposition method using the palate as a reference area is as clinically reliable for assessing antero-posterior tooth movement as cephalometric superimposition, even in cases treated with orthopedic appliances, such as RME and maxillary protraction headgear.

      • Fluorescence Micropatterning Based on the Polymeric Photobase Generator Containing Oxime-Urethane Groups by Dansylation

        A polymeric photobase generator containing oxime-urethane groups is applied to a fluorescence micropatterning material. Polymer bearing oxime-urethane groups was prepared by copolymerization of methyl methacrylate with methacryloyloxyethyl benzophenoneoxime urethane (MBU). The reaction of amino groups in the irradiated copolymer film with dansyl chloride (Dns-Cl) was monitored by using UV absorption, IR absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy. The fluorescence spectrum of the Dns-Cl-treated irradiated copolymer film shows a strong fluorescence with a fluorescence maximum wavelength at 510 nm. A blue fluorescent micropattern with a line width of $2{\sim}3{\mu}m$ was obtained. Treatment of the irradiated copolymer film with Dns-Cl and rhodamine B mixture led to the formation of green, red, and orange-colored fluorescence micropatterns. Thus, various colored micropatterns on a single polymer film can be obtained by selective excitation of each dye molecules.
