임플랜트전산화단층촬영시 CENTRAL PANORAMIC CURVE의 변화가 하악골의 영상 재구성에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to investigate an influence of the change of central panoramic curves on the image reconstruction in the dental implant CT. The author designed three experimental groups according to the location of central panoramic curve. In group A, central panoramic curve was determined as the couve connecting the center of roots from the first premolar to the first molar. In group B, central panoramic curve was determined as the line connecting the lingual cortical plate at the level of the mesial aspect of the first premolar with the buccal cortical plate at the level of the mesial aspect of the first molar. In Group C, central panoramic curve was determined as the line connecting the buccal cortical plate at the level of the mesial aspect of the first premolar with the lingual cortical plate at the level of the mesial aspect of the first molar. Twenty four reformatted CT images was acquired from four mandibles embedded in the resin block and twenty four contact radiographs of dog specimens were acquired. Each Image was processed under Adobe Photoshop program analysed by MSPA (mandible/maxilla shape pattern analysis) variables such as MXVD, MXHD, UHD, MHD, and LHD. The obtained results were as follows; 1. The mean of MXVD variable was 19.9, 20.2, and 20.0 in group A, B, and C, respectively, which were smaller than actual value 20.5. But, there was no significant difference among 3 groups(P>0.05). 2. The mean of MXHD, UHD, MHD, and LHD variables in group A,B,and C was 11.9, 12.2, and 12.3; 9.3, 9.5, and 9.6; 10.0, 10.3, and 10.3; 9.2, 9.3, and 9.4 respectively which were equal to or greater than the actual value 11.8, 9.3, 10.0, and 9.2, But, there was no significant difference among 3 groups (P>0.05). 3. The number of noneffective observations with difference over or under 1 mm with comparison to the actual value was 24(20%), 58(48.3%), and 52(43.3%), respectively, in group A, B, and C. 4. In group A, the number of observations over 1 mm and under 1mm was 9 and 15, respectively, but in group B and C, the number of observations over 1 mm was more than under 1 mm.

Castleman' s disease is a rare, reactive lymphoid proliferation of unknown cause and pathogenesis. Depending on histololgic findings, it has been divided into two distinct histologic subtypes that include hyaline-vascular type(90%) and plasmacell type(10%). This disease occurs most commonly in mediastinal lymph nodes and cervical lymph nodes, inguinal lymph nodes respectively. But occurs rarely in retroperitoneum. We report a case of hyaline-vascular type asymptomatic Castleman' s disease of the retroperitoneum in a 47-year-old man.
임플랜트를 위한 하악골 측정시 전산화단층사진상의 정확도에 관한 연구: 하악 위치와 gantry각이 미치는 영향

We used five adult dog mandibles embedded in resin block and six different cross-sectional planes for each mandible were choosen. According to the angle of mandibular occulsal plane to vertical plane(mandibular angle)and gantry angle of CT machine, we classified 4 experimental groups and 1 control group. The control group images were taken at the mandibular angel 0˚and gantry angle 0˚. The experimental images were taken at the mandibular angle 15˚and gantry angle 0˚(group 1);30˚and 0˚(group 2);15˚and 15˚(group 3);30˚and 30˚(group 4), respectively, Using the reformatted cross-sectional images, the distance from the mandibular canal to the alveolar crest and the distance from the mandibular canal to the buccal cortex and to the lingual cortex was measured and compared. The obtained results were as follows; 1. The distance from the mandibular canal to the alveolar crest of group 1 and 2 was larger than control group, but the distance of group 3 and 4 was smaller. The distance from the mandibular canal to the buccal cortex and to the lingual cortex of all experimental groups was smaller than control group. 2. The distance from the mandibular canal to the alveolar crest showed the largest difference from control group in all experimental groups, especially in group 2 and 4(p<0.05)> 3. In the distance from the mandibular canal to the alveolar crest, the number of deviation value under 1mm was 20 in group 3 and was 11 in group 2 and 4, respectively. 4. The deviation value of the distance from the mandibular canal to the buccal cortex and to the lingual cortex was under 1 mm in most cases.

Demodulation wants to adaptive equalizer to minimize interference of intersymbol which generate in multipath fading channel results from signal time and variety multi propagation through channel in digital radio network systems. Therefore using transition ratio of transfer and receiver system and the number of forward and backward using existing individual taps, we study improvement algorithms which generated bit error ratio by signal in frequence select fading. We analysis and compare linear equalizer and decision feedback nonlinear equalizer. Proposed algorithm is more efficent in fading environment when compared of step size by channel character which estimated existing least square and ITLMS algorithm. In this paper, using ITLMS algorithm by decision feedback BER is reduced for intersymbol interference by narrowband TDMA multipath fading in invironment without individual tap weight overlay.

저자들은 필라델피아 염색체 양성 급성골수성백혈병 환자에서 복합항암화학요법으로 혈액학적 완전관해를 유도하고, imatinib mesylate를 이용하여 분자학적 관해를 유도한 후, 성공적으로 자가 말초혈액조혈모세포이식을 시행하였던 1예를 경험하였기에 이를 보고하는 바이다. Philadelphia chromosome (Ph¹)-positive acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is very rare disease, comprising 3~4% of the AML, and is a clinically distinct entity with poor clinical outcome with conventional chemotherapy. We report a case of Ph¹-positive AML who underwent successful autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation after achieving a molecular remission with imatinib mesylate.

Objective : The main purpose of this research is to make a survey of the effective way of the Korean traditional medical care about Traffic accidental patients. Methods : In following research, 27 patients of Traffic accident and 33 patients of Non-Traffic accident to be diagnosied as Lumbar spine Sprain who hospitalized in the Dong-shin Korean Traditional Medicine Hospital from January 1, 2003 to November 31, 2003 were surveyed. Result : 1. In distribution of sex and age, the female ratio was higher and twenties was the most distribution of age in Traffic accidental patients, the male ratio was higher and tirties was the most distribution of age in Non-Traffic accidental patients. 2. the number of patients via other hospital was much than that of the first visitor to our hospital in Traffic accidental patients, but the case of Non-Traffic accidental patients was contray results. 3. In medical Treatment, acupunture theraphy(100.0%), negative theraphy(100.0%), moxibustion theraphy(74.07%) et. was used in Traffic accidental patients, acupunture theraphy(100.0%), negative theraphy(100.0%), moxibust ion theraphy(84.84%), herbal acupunture theraphy(54.54%) et. was used in Non-Traffic accidental patients.
Identification of Glycine max Genes Expressed in Response to Soybean mosaic virus Infection

Identification of host genes involved in disease progresses and/or defense responses is one of the most critical steps leading to the elucidation of disease resistance mechanisms in plants. Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) is one of the most prevalent pathogen of soybean(Glycine max). Although the soybeans are placed one of many important crops, relatively little is known about defense mechanism. In order to obtain host genes involved in SMV disease progress and host defense especially for virus resistance, two different cloning strategies (DD RT-PCR and Subtractive hybridization) were employed to identify pathogenesis- and defenserelated genes (PRs and DRs) from susceptible (Geumjeong 1) and resistant (Geumjeong 2) cultivars against SMV strain G7H. Using these approaches, we obtained 570 genes that expressed differentially during SMV infection processes. Based upon sequence analyses,differentially expressed host genes were classified into five groups, i.e. metabolism, genetic information processing, environmental information processing, cellular processes and unclassified group. A total of 11 differentially expressed genes including protein kinase, transcription factor, other potential signaling components and resistant-like gene involved in host defense response were selected to further characterize and determine expression profiles of each selected gene. Functional characterization of these genes will likely facilitate the elucidation of defense signal transduction and biological function in SMV-infected soybean plants.
Control of Postharvest Bacterial Soft Rot by Gamma Irradiation and its Potential Modes of Action

Gamma irradiation was evaluated for its in vitro and in vivo antibacterial activity against a postharvest bacterial pathogen, Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora (Ecc). Gamma irradiation in a bacteria cell suspension resulted in a dramatic reduction of the viable counts as well as an increase in the amounts of DNA and protein released from the cells. Gamma irradiation showed complete inactivation of Ecc, especially at a dose of 0.6 kGy. In addition, scanning electron microscopy of irradiated cells revealed severe damage on the surface of most bacterial cells. Along with the morphological changes of cells by gamma irradiation, it also affected the membrane integrity in a dose-dependent manner. The mechanisms by which the gamma irradiation decreased the bacterial soft rot can be directly associated with the disruption of the cell membrane of the bacterial pathogen, along with DNA fragmentation, results in dose-dependent cell inactivation. These findings suggest that gamma irradiation has potential as an antibacterial approach to reduce the severity of the soft rot of paprika.
