Dynamic Simulation and Experimental Verification of Flux Reversal Linear Synchronous Motor

This paper presents a dynamic simulation model which fully describes transient and steady-state operation of flux reversal linear synchronous motor (FRLSM). Magnetic field computations by finite element analysis considering inter-phase coupling effect are performed to establish phase decoupled voltage equation for the dynamic simulation. Simulation parameters such as thrust, normal force, flux linkage, and core loss are obtained by magnetic field computation and put into look-up tables. The validity of the model is verified by experiments under various operating conditions.
Thiothixene이 가토 혈중 주정농도에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구

Thiothixene, which is a thioxanthene derivative, has been used in treatment of schizophrenia. The efficacy of this drug has been frequently compared to other neuroleptics, such as chlorpromazine, thioridazine and trifluoperazine. This drug has been known to cause some extrapyramidal symptoms and hypotensive effects but these side effects have been considered to be less marked than the extrapyramidal and hypotensive effects of most of other neuroleptics. It has been lately reported that chlorpromazine, lithium ion and several other psychotropic drugs elevated the blood alcohol level in rabbits. In view of these findings, the author conducted an animal experiment to investigate the effects of thiothixene on blood alcohol level in rabbits. Materials and method 1. Experimental work was done with mature rabbits of both sexes, weighing about 2.0kg. 2. The experiment was done in two groups; control and experimental group. Experimental group was divided into four subgroups; alcohol+thiothixene (5mg/kg, for 5 days), alcohol+thiothixene (5mg/kg, for 10 days), alcohol+thiothixene (10mg/kg, for 5days) and alcohol+thiothixene (10mg/kg, for 10 days). 3. Control group was given alcohol only, and in the first subgroup thiothixene was given 5mg/kg of body weight, daily for 5 days, in the second subgroup, thiothixene was given 5mg/kg of body weight, daily for 10 days, in the third group, thiothixene was given 10mg/kg of body weight, daily for 5 days, and in the forth group thiothixene was given 10mg/kg of body weight, daily for 10 days. 4. In all groups, 20 vol. % ethanol solution was given, in a dose of 5.0ml/kg of body weight, at a constant rate for 5 minutes, by intravenous route. 5. All of the blood specimens were obtained by cardiac puncture at 15 and 45 minutes respectively after alcohol administration. 6. The blood alcohol level was determined by Cavett's method. Results 1. Alcohol+thiothixene (5mg/kg, for 5 days) subgroup. In this group, thiothixene lowered the blood alcohol level significantly at both 15 minutes (P<0.01) and 45 minutes (P<0.01) after alcohol administration. 2. Alcohol+thiothixene (5mg/kg, for 10 days) subgroup. In this group, thiothixene lowered the blood alcohol level significantly at both 15 minutes (P<0.001) and 45 minutes (P<0.001) after alcohol administration. 3. Alcohol+thiothixene (10mg/kg, for 5 days) subgroup. Thiothixene lowered the blood alcohol level significantly at both 15 minutes (P<0.001) and 45minutes (P<0.001) after alcohol administration. 4. Alcohol+thiothixene (10mg/kg, 10 days) subgroup. Thiothixene lowered the blood alcohol level significantly at both 15 minutes (P<0.001) and 45 minutes (P<0.001) after alcohol administration. Conclusion 1. The orally administered thiothixene in a dose of 5mg/kg/day for 5 days lowered significantly the blood alcohol level in rabbits at 15 minutes and at 45 minutes after alcohol administration. 2. The orally administered thiothixene in a dose of 5 mg/kg/day for 10 days lowered significantly the blood alcohol level in rabbits at 15 minutes and 45 minutes after alcohol administration. 3. The orally administered thiothixene in a dose of 10 mg/kg/day for 5 days lowered significantly the blood alcohol level in rabbits at 15 minutes and at 45 minutes after alcohol administration. 4. The orally administered thiothixene in a dose of 10 mg/kg/day for 10 days lowered significantly the blood alcohol level in rabbits at 15 minutes and at 45 minutes after alcohol administration.

This paper describes analysis and experimental characterization of low speed direct drive fractional slot concentrated winding (FSCW) surface permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) with consequent pole (CP) rotor, for which studies have been recently performed. The proposed motor, which consists of 30 poles and 36 slots, is analyzed and characterized by extensive 2D finite element analysis (FEA) and together with 3D FEA for an appropriate PM overhang length design. The validity of the analysis is confirmed by the corresponding experiments which fully characterize the proposed motor with excellent agreement between the FEA and the experiments. Thermal stability is also experimentally examined to determine continuous operating points and instantaneous operating points of the proposed motor. It is highly expected that the proposed motor is applicable for low speed direct drive applications.
Development of Flux Reversal Linear Synchronous Motor for Precision Position Control

This paper introduces design and analysis of two different flux reversal linear synchronous motor(FRLSM) by 2D finite element method(FEM). The analysis models are optimized by response surface methodology(RSM) for a quantitative comparison. Analysis results show that the proposed FRLSM with multiple auxiliary salient poles effectively increases thrust. Magnetic unbalance reduction design is also suggested for the proposed FRLSM. A prototype of the proposed configuration is made and experimental results validate the design and analysis.

This paper introduces a comprehensive approach to the development of doubly salient permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (DSPMLSM) including design, analysis, optimization, and experimental validation. Due to the proposed reduction design, force ripple caused by end-effect is dramatically reduced without any auxiliary teeth on both ends of mover. Response surface methodology (RSM)combined with 2D finite element analysis (FEA) is performed to maximize rated thrust. A prototype was made based on the analysis and tested to confirm the validity of the analysis. The comparison between analysis and experiment shows an excellent agreement. Controllabilty of the prototype is also examined to show applicability in general-purpose automation applications. It is experimentally shown that the proposed DSPMLSM topology successfully achieve high acceleration, high speed, and high precision positioning capability.
