텔레비전 폭력물의 대응방향 : 미디어 감시운동 단체의 역할을 중심으로

Anti-TV violence movement initiated by media watch-dog groups is regraded as the most active civil movement in Korea. Like the anti-violence campaign in 1970s and 1980s in America, the movement was organized by a few woman activists and supporting volunteers. Since they did not have enough resources to run the full-fledged campaigns, their activities were mainly confined to monitoring television program's content. They partially succeeded in reducing the amounts of broadcasting violent TV program. But, like a cat-and-mouse game, broadcasters repeatedly re-introduce the violent programs whenever media activists loosened their grips. Thus, it is a time to discuss about what would be the next steps and directions to take in the movement. Based on the analysis of media activity groups' role in enacting Children's Television Act and Television Violence Act commissioned by Congress in early 1990s, three steps were recommended. First, the coalition with other concerned professional organization is required. Such organizations would be the nationwide parents' organizations, pediatric association, psychiatric association and other academic association interested in the effects of media violence on human behavior. Second, it is necessary to conduct efficient campaign to make anti-TV violence legislation. It is worth to know that the results of thousands of academic studies that continuously pointed the finger to TV violence as the prime culprit of juvenile violence did not play a major role in passing the Television Violence Act of 1990. Rather, the tenacious anti-violence campaign heralded by Peggy Charen's Action for Children's Television was the prime force behind the scene. Third, the media activity group must understand the role of mass media in triad relationships among audience, broadcasters and regulatory body.

The direct conversion of methane or natural gas into useful hydrocarbon and oxygenated products has been the subject of extensive research during the past decade. Partial oxidation of methane to formaldehyde was studied in a fixed-bed continuous flow reactor at the temperature range of 473-973 K using perovskite catalyst. La was taken as a basic material in A site. Ni, Co and Fe have been studied to test the catalytic activity and HCHO selectivity in partial oxidation of methane. Then La in A site was replaced by Ce and Co to study the activity change. TPR and XRD analysis were compared in view of the catalytic activity. The order of activity was observed in the flollowing order: LaNiO_3 > LaCoO_3 > LaFeO_3. The highest HCHO selectivity was 16.4% on reduced LaNi_0.8Co_0.2NiO_3 at 450℃.

ABSTRACT Two sudangrass hybrids were treated with the split application (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 times) of 25 kg/lOa of N to determine the effects of split N application on the growth, yield and feed composition of sudangrass hybrids in Cheju. Pioneer 988 headed five days earlier than Pioneer 931 did. The number of days from planting to heading averaged across the two hybrids was delayed from 73 to 79 days as the frequency of the split N applications was increased from one to five times. At heading, Pioneer 988 was about 8cm taller than Pioneer 931 was. Plant height was increased with increasing the frequency of split N application. As the frequency of split N application was increased, stem weight, leaf weight, root length, and root weight were significantly increased. Fresh forage yield averaged the two hybrids was increased from 5,505 to 7,391 kg/lOa as the frequency of the split N application was increased from one to five times. As the frequency of the split application was increased, crude fat and crude protein contents also were increased but crude fiber content was decreased.

The clavicle plays very important role in the motion of the shoulder girdle and maintenance of power and stability of the arm. The most clavicular shaft fractures can be treated by conservative methods with a high rate of union and low rate of complications. The operative treatment in clavicular fracture is limited in such as wide separation of the fragments with soft tissue interposition, nonunion, or neurovascular involvements. From 1989 to 1991, eighty six consecutive patients with clavicular shaft fractures were treated at Ewha Womans University Hospital. Fifty eight patients were treated conservatively(Group I ) and twenty eight patients operatively(Group II) Authors compared both groups and obtained the following results; 1. The most common cause of injuries was the traffic accident and the most common associated skeletal injury around the shoulder was the rib fracture. 2. The degree of comminution and displacement of the clavicular shaft fracture were more severe in Group lI. 3. The average time to union was 8.7 weeks in Group I and 10.3 weeks in Group II. 4. The average rate of union at 4 months was 93.1% in Group I and 96.4% in Group II. 5. The functional result was good or excellent in over 90% in both Groups according to the Kang's criteria. 6. The rate of complication was 8.6% in Group I (one nonunion, three delayed unions and one malunion) and 3.6% in Group lI(only one case of nonunion) 7. The immobilization period was between 6 to 8 weeks in Group I and within 4 weeks in Group II in most cases.

사이버 윤리지표 개발에 관한 실증연구 : 한국, 미국, 인도의 차이를 중심으로

정보화 시대에서 인터넷이 주는 여러 장점이 존재하기는 하지만 그에 따른 비윤리적 행위에 대한 폐해도 점차 심각해지고 있기 때문에 사이버 상에서의 윤리지표가 필요한 시점이라 생각한다. 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 두 가지 목적을 가지고 있다. 첫째, 사이버 공간에서 발생되는 범죄행위에 대한 문제인식을 바탕으로 본 연구에서 제시된 인터넷 사용자들의 윤리의식 지수(Self-Evaluation)를 스스로 측정해 볼 수 있는 표준화된 사이버 윤리 프레임워크를 개발하는 것이다. 둘째, 제시된 프레임워크의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 3개국(한국, 미국, 인도) 인터넷 사용자들을 대상으로 실증분석을 함으로써 각기 문화권이 다른 한국, 미국, 인도의 인터넷 사용자들의 윤리지수 차이를 문화적 관점에서 국가간 어떤 차이를 보이는지를 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 시사점으로는 국가별 전통문화의 차이 규명과 함께 행동의도를 분석하였다는 점과 인터넷 공간에서 사용자들이 윤리적인 부분에 있어 불안감이나 민감하게 느끼는 요인들을 분석하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 찾아볼 수 있다. The Internet-assisted communication transforms conventional information systems into vast human interactive networks, and offers people opportunities to experience new forms of social contacts, without any real social presence. Because of this anonymity of Internet users, they have a strong tendency to behave in an unrestricted manner. This experience is do stimulating, rewarding and reinforcing that ome user find it hard to know when to stop. These behaviors frequently go over the fun, and are developed into the crimes. To reduce these side-effects, various computer security solution and laws have been introduced. However, the most important factor in reducing the Internet side-effects is individual user’s ethics. This research proposes a Cyber Ethics Evaluation Model to measure the ethics of Internet users and compares cyber ethics of South Korea, U.S.A, and India by using the model. It conduct Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to test the validation of the model.

편심하중이 작용하는 제형 다실박스거더에서의 거동분리연구

Thin-walled muLticell box girders subjected to an eccentric load can be produced the three global behaviors of flexure, torsion, and distortion. Specially in railway bridges subjected to much eccentric load, it is quite important to evaluate influences of torsion and distortion. But it is very difficult to evaluate each influences of major behaviors numerically. If we can decompose an eccentric load P into flexural, torsional, and distortional forces, we can execute quantitative analysis each influences of major behaviors. Decomposition of Applied Load for Thin-walled Rectangular multi-cell box girders is reserched by Park, Nam-Hoi(Development of a multicell Box Beam Element Including Distortional Degrees of Freedom, 2003). But researches about trapezoidal multi-cell section is insufficient. So, this paper deals with multi-cell trapezoidal box girders. An expanded method, which is based on the force decomposition method for a single-cell box girder given by Nakai and Yoo, is developed herein to decompose eccentric load P into flexural, torsional, and distortional forces. Derive formulas by decomposition of eccentric load is verified by 3D shell-modelling numerical analysis.

실내사무환경의 환경성담배연기(ETS)의 지표물질에 관한 연구

The purpose of this research is to evaluate indoor office environment using the concentrations of nicotine, 3-enthenyl-pyridine(3-EP), and respirable suspended particulate(RSP), which are indicators for environmental tobacco smoke(ETS) and the correlations between indicators and environmental conditions(smoking density, smoking index). The mean air charge per hour (ACH) in smoking rooms was 10.4 and most of the smoking rooms showed non-compliance withe ASHRAE standard value except only one smoking rooms. The concentrations of RSP, 3-EP, nicotine showed log=normal distributions, and became different statistically depending on smoking condition(p〈0.01). The geometric mean concentration of RSP in smoking room was 441.7 ug/㎡ that is far exceeded environmental standard(150 ug/㎡). This implies that fine particulate in smoking room should be carefully controlled considering smoking density and ventilation fate. The mean concentrations of nicotine and 3-EP were 93.4 ug/㎥, respectively. The correlation coefficients between RSP and SI, 3-EP and SI, and Nicotine and SI were 0.67, 0.84 and 0.74, respectively. The correlation coefficient between nicotine and 3-EP, nicotine and RSP, and RSP and 3-EP were 0.76,0.78 and 0.57 respectively.

계지의 항염 효과에 관한 연구

Objectives : Cinnamomi Ramulus (CR), the young twing of Cinnamomi loureirii nees, has been used for treating symptoms related to pain. rheumatic arthritis and inflammation in Korean herb medicine. This study was carried out to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of CR in vivo and in vitro. Methods : Extracts of CR were prepared and the chemical components of the extracts were examined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The extracts were administrated to the rat paw edema model induced by carrageenan to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effect of CR. The expressions of nitric oxide (NO). prostaglandin E2(PGE2), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 were also quantified in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 macrophages to survey the effect of CR in vitro. The main components were cinnamaldechyde and coumarin. Results : We examined the anti-inflammatory activity of the 80% ethanol extract of Cinnamomi Ramulus in vivo by using carrageenan-induced rat paw edema model. Maximum inhibition of 54.9% was noted at the dose of 1000㎎/㎏ after 2 hours of drug administration in carrageenan-induced rat paw edema and this showed a potent anti-inflammatory effect. Conclusions : The results showed that Cinnamomi Ramulus suppressed dose-dependently LPS-induced NO production in RAW 264.7 macrophages and also decreased iNOS protein expression. Cinnamomi Ramulus also showed a significant inhibitory effect in LPS-induced PGE2 production and COX-2 expression.
