        개의 전침마취가 Vital sign 및 혈액가스치 변화에 미치는 영향

        The present study was performed to elucidate the effect of canine electroacupuncture anesthesia on vital signs and blood gas values. Groups were divided into experimental (electroacupuncture: EA) and control (ketamine) groups. The vital signs (body temperature, respiration rate and pulse) and blood gas values (pH, $pCO_2$ and $pO_2$) of venous and arterial blood were determined. Body temperatures of EA group were significant higher than than of ketamine group at 15 min., 30 min., 45min. and 60 min. (p<0.05) after anesthesia, respectively. The respiration rates of EA group were higher than those of ketamine group, however, significant differences were not observed between both groups. The pulses of EA group were significant higher than those of ketamine group at 5 min. (p<0.05), 10 min. (p<0.01), 15 min. and 30 min. (p<0.05) after anesthesia, respectively. The arterial and venous blood pHs of ketamine group were slightly higher than those of EA group, respectively, however, no significant differences were found between both groups. Significant differences were not observed between both groups in the arterial and venous blood $pCO_2$, respectively. The arterial blood $pO_2$ of EA group was significant higher than those of ketamine group at 5 min. (p<0.05) after anesthesia. No significant differences were observed between both groups in the venous blood $pO_2$. These results suggest that the changes of vital signs and blood gas values of EA group are similar to those of ketamine group with the exception of changes in the body temperature, pulse and arterial blood $pO_2$.

        DVB-S2 기반 고속 LDPC 복호를 위한 효율적인 CNU 계산방식에 관한 연구

        본 논문은 DVB-S2 기반 고속 LDPC 복호를 하기 위한 효율적인 CNU(Check Node Update) 계산방식에 대해 분석하였다. LDPC의 복호 속도는 CNU 계산 과정에 의존한다. 기존의 CNU 계산방식에서 LUT를 고려한 SP(Sum-Product)방식은 속도가 늦어지는 단점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 SC-NMS(Self-Corrected Normalized Min-Sum) 방식을 제안한다. LUT 연산을 제거한 MS(Min-Sum) 방식에 정규화 계수 '${\alpha}$'를 곱하는 Normalized Min-Sum(NMS) 방식은 MP 방식보다 성능은 약간 감소하지만 critical path를 없애고 클럭 주기를 줄일 수 있어 구현에 있어서 고속화를 위한 효율적인 CNU 계산방식이다. 또한, 복호과정에서 반복 시 이전 반복에서의 엣지 값과 현재 반복에서의 엣지 값을 비교하여 부호가 바뀌면 신뢰성이 없음을 간주하여 현재 엣지에 "0"을 할당하는 SC(Self-Corrected) 방식을 연구하였다. SC-NMS 방식을 적용하여 시뮬레이션 한 결과, SC-NMS 방식은 SP 방식에 비해 0.1dB의 성능열화를 보였지만, 계산의 복잡도와 복호 속도를 고려했을 때, SC-NMS 방식이 최적의 CNU 계산 방식이라는 것을 확인하였다. In this paper, efficient CNU(Check Node Update) algorithms are analyzed for high speed LDPC decoding in DVB-S2 standard. In aspect to CNU methods, there are some kinds of CNU methods. Among of them, MP (Min Product) method is quite often used in LDPC decoding. However MP needs LUT (Look Up Table) that is critical path in LDPC decoding speed. A new SC-NMS (Self-Corrected Normalized Min-Sum) method is proposed in the paper. NMS needs only normalized scaling factor instead of LUT and compensates the overestimation of MP approximation. In addition, SC method is proposed. It gives a faster convergence toward a decoded codeword. If a message change its sign between two iterations, it is not reliable and to avoid to propagate noisy information, its module is set to 0. The performance of SC-NMS has a little degrade compare to MP by 0.1 dB, however considering computational complexity and decoding speed, SC-NMS algorithm is optimal method for CNU algorithm.

        플라즈마 및 직접 기상 불소화에 따른 활성탄소섬유의 초산가스 흡착 특성

        실내 환경 오염물질인 휘발성 유기화합물(volatile organic compounds)인 초산에 대한 핏치계 활성탄소섬유의 흡착 성능을 향상시키기 위해 불소화를 진행하였다. 불소화에는 플라즈마 불소화와 직접 기상 불소화법을 사용하였으며, 두 가지 방식으로 불소화한 활성탄소섬유의 초산가스 흡착 성능을 고찰하였다. 불소가 도입된 활성탄소섬유의 표면 특성을 알아보기 위하여 X선 광전자 분광법(XPS)을 분석하였고 그 기공특성은 77K 질소 흡착법을 통하여 분석하였다. 초산가스의 흡착 성능은 가스 크로마토그래피를 통하여 측정하였으며, 플라즈마 불소화 된 활성탄소섬유의 파과시간이 790 min으로 650 min인 미처리 활성탄소섬유에 비해 파과시간이 지연되었음을 확인할 수 있으나, 직접 기상 불소화 표면처리한 활성탄소섬유의 파과시간은 390 min으로 오히려 흡착성능이 저해되었다. 이는 플라즈마 불소화 된 활성탄소섬유는 그 비표면적의 변화 없이, 표면에 도입된 불소 관능기가 초산가스(CH<sub>3</sub>COOH)와 정전기적 인력으로 흡착성능이 증가하였다. 반면, 직접 기상 불소화 된 활성탄소섬유는 그 비표면적이 55%까지 크게 감소하여 초산가스에 대한 물리적 흡착 효과가 현저히 감소하였다. Fluorination was carried out to improve the adsorption performance of pitch-based activated carbon fibers (ACFs) onto acetic acid. Both plasma and direct gas fluorination were used for fluorination, and the acetic acid gas adsorption performance of fluorinated ACFs was investigated. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is analyzed to determine the surface characteristics of ACFs, and the pore characteristics were analyzed by 77 K nitrogen adsorption. An adsorption performance was measured through gas chromatography, and it was confirmed that the breakthrough time of plasma fluorinated sample was 790 min and that the breakthrough time was delayed compared to that of using untreated one of 650 min. However, the breakthrough time of direct gas fluorinated sample was 390 min, indicating that the adsorption performance was inhibited. The plasma fluorinated ACFs showed an increase in the adsorption performance due to an electrostatic attraction between the acetic acid gas (CH<sub>3</sub>COOH) with the fluorine group introduced to the surface without changing its specific surface area. On the other hand, the specific surface area of the direct gas fluorinated ACFs decreased significantly up to 55%, and the physical adsorption effect on the acetic acid gas also reduced.

        인간포배기 배아의 효과적인 유리화 동결법의 개발을 위한 연구

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the survival rate of vitrified blastocyst according to the freezing vessels, equilibration time in cryoprotectant and artificial dehydration method. Methods: Human blastocysts were vitrified after loading onto the plastic straw, open-pulled straw (OPS), electron microscopy grid (EM grid) for 1.5 min or 3 min. They also were directly plunged into LN2 within 30sec. For artificial shrinkage of blastocysts, 36 gauge fine needle was pushed at the cellular junction of the trophectoderm into the blstocoele cavity until it shrank without damage of inner cell mass. Results: The survival rate of vitrified blastocysts on plastic straw, OPS, EM grid as freezing vessels were 26.7, 13.0 and 60.5%, respectively. The survival rate of EM grid was significantly higher than that of plastic straw and OPS (p<0.05). For 1.5 min equilibrium, the survival rates of early blastocyst (EB), middle blastocyst (MB) and late blastocyst (LB) were 64.4, 81.0, and 20.0% respectively. For 3 min equilibrium, the survival rates of EB, MB, and LB were 69.9, 50.0 and 57.5% respectively. The survival rates of EB and MB were significantly higher than that of LB in 1.5 min equilibrium group (p<0.05), however, the significance was not observed in 3 min equilibrium groups. In cytoplasmic shrinkage before vitrification, the survival rates of EB, MB and LB were 92.9, 100 and 75.9% respectively. The survival rate of MB was significantly higher than that of LB (p<0.05). The survival rates of vitrified blastocysts by artificial dehydration and slow-frozen blastocysts were not significantly different as 88.9 and 66.7%, respectively. Conclusion: This study showed that the vitrification of human blastocysts using EM grid and artificial dehydration is an effective method. Therefore, these methods would be an useful techniques for blastocyst cryopreservation.

        COPA(cuffed oropharyngeal airway)를 이용한 마취 유도 시 근이완제 사용 유무에 따른 반응

        Background : COPA (cuffed oropharyngeal airway) is a convenient device for airway management in patients undergoing general anesthesia for elective surgery in supine position. It causes less pharyngeal trauma than LMA(Laryngeal mask airway). The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of COPA with and without muscle relaxant. Methods : Forty patients with ASA physical status I and II for elective surgery were randomly assigned to two groups. Anaesthesia was induced with propofol (2 mg/kg) and vecuronium (1.5 mg/kg) and was administered intravenously in Group I but not in Group II. Mask ventilation was done for 5 min with 0: 5 L/min. COPA was placed and heart rate, and systolic, mean, diastolic blood pressure and peak inspiratory pressure were measured at 1 min interval for 5 min. Anaesthesia was maintained with pro- pofol 150 ㎍/kg/min, fentanyl 1 ㎍/kg/hr, O_2 2 L/min and N_2O 2 L/min. Results : There were no significant differences between Group I and Group II in heart rate, systolic, mean and dstolic blood pressure. PIP (Peak inspiratory pressure) was increased and hiccups occurred significantly (p $lt; 0.05) in Group II. Complete airway obstruction occurred in one patient of Group I and severe coughing, body movements and gagging occurred during induction and insertion in Group II. conclusions : With the use of appropriate muscle relaxant, we can use COPA without increased inspiratory pressure or significant complication.         Simple scalable approach to advanced membrane module design and hydrogen separation performance using twelve replaceable palladium-coated Al2O3 hollow fibre membranes

        A phase-inversion approach was used to manufacture Al2O3 hollow fibre supports, which were then sinteredat 1723 K. The electroless plating technique is developed to prepare palladium-coated Al2O3 hollowfibre membranes for hydrogen separation. Three different scaling-up configurations were produced andtested: single membrane, membrane unit obtained by assembling three membranes, and advanced membranemodule obtained by assembling twelve replaceable membranes. The hydrogen flux was investigatedunder vacuum and without vacuum using a feed gas of pure H2 (100%) and a binary feed gasmixture of H2 (80%) and CO2 (20%) at different feed gas pressures (100–800 kPa), feed gas rate (0.2–6. 0 L min1), and temperature (673–723 K). The hydrogen flux increases from 0.2162 mol m2 s1 (feedgas pressure = 600 kPa, feed gas rate = 0.2 L min1) to 0.4487 mol m2 s1 (feed gas pressure = 800 kPa, feed gas rate = 6.0 L min1) under the binary gas mixture at 723 K by switching from a single to theadvanced membrane module, while the hydrogen purity remains above 97.5% throughout the experiment. Some aspects about the scalability of palladium-coated Al2O3 hollow fibre membranes for hydrogenseparation are discussed.

        성인에서 기관내삽관을 위한 Pipecuronium 일회 정주 적정 용량

        Background : Studies in animals suggest that pipecuronium dose not induce hemodynamic chan-ges related to histamine release or to an effect on the autonomic nervous system. Therefore the effects of bolus administration of large doses of pipecuronium, up to 0.20 mg/kg, on the intubation condition, onset and duration of neuromuscular blockade, heart rate and blood pressure were studied during fentanyl- nitrous oxide anesthesia. Method : Forty adults were randomly assigned to receive a bolus injection of either 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 mg/kg of pipecuronium. Neuromuscular blockade was measured using mechanomyographic activity of the adductor pollicis muscle after supramaximal stimulation of the ulnar nerve. Four subgroups of 10 patients received pipecuronium doses of 0.05, 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20 mg/kg, respectively, as an intubating dose. Results : The times of onset and clinical duration(mean sem) after each dose were as follows: 0.05 mg/kg, 2.98 0.42 and 41.5 2.42 min; 0.10 mg/kg, 1.54 0.06 and 82.9 7.48 min; 0.15 mg/kg, 1.41 0.14 and 124.8 13.1 min; 0.20 mg/kg, 1.12 0.05 and 187.1 12.8 min. The intubation condition, time of onset and duration after doses of 0.05 mg/kg were significantly different from values after the higer doses. The duration was increased with dose-increments. No dose-related changes in heart rate or blood pressure were observed. Conclusion : The authors conclude that dose of 0.10 mg/kg and over has good intubation condition clinically and large bolus dose of pipecuronium can be safely used with a significantly prolonged duration of action without hemodynamic change.       • A Quantitative A naly sis of the Fire Hazard Generated from Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles

        There is a lack of information on (i) the potential fire load of new green-technology vehicles, (ii) flame spread behavior, (iii) thermal impacts on high-pressure hydrogen storage vessels (HSVs) and lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) during fuel cell electric vehicles fires (FCEVs), and (iv) thermal damage to adjacent vehicles and upper structural members during FCEV fires occurring in civil structures, such as underground spaces, multi-story parks, and tunnels. In view of this, a full-scale fire test was conducted in this study to quantitatively assess the fire risk of hydrogen FCEVs. Large-scale cone calorimetry was used to quantify the thermal intensity released from the FCEV fire. The flame spreading behavior through an FCEV with HSVs and LIBs was observed using the thermocouples installed. Changes in the temperature and irradiance around the FCEV fire were also measured using an instrumented test rig. The peak heat release rate, total heat released, and fire growth rate were observed to be 5.99 MW, 11.8 GJ, and 0.0055 kW/s², respectively. The temporal point of hydrogen gas release from the HSVs' thermal pressure relief device (TPRD) was estimated to be 16.2-26.2 min. The initiation of thermal runaway of LIBs was deduced from the temperature-time profiles of the LIB modules and their metal housing approximately 22.2 min after HCEV ignition. Moreover, FCEV fires could thermally impair adjacent upper structural members by 800 ℃ combustion gas for at least 13 min and emit a median heat flux of 27.2 kW/m² (peak heat flux of 76.5 kW/m²) to adjacent vehicles. The measurements and findings obtained from this study can contribute to the evaluation of and further studies on newly emerging fire hazards.

        Impact of Irradiation Time on the Hydrolysis of Waste Activated Sludge by the Dielectric Heating of Microwave

        The effects of initial solid concentration and microwave irradiation (MWI) time on the hydrolysis of waste activated sludge (WAS)were investigated. MWI time strongly influenced WAS hydrolysis for all initial solid concentrations of 8.20, 31.51, and 52.88 g VSS/L. For all WAS, the volatile suspended solids (VSS) solubilization degree ranged from 35.6% to 38.4% during a total MWI time of 10 min. Solublechemical oxygen demand (SCOD) concentration increased at a rate proportional to the decrease of VSS during the MWI. However, the clearly different VSS solubilization patterns that were observed during the MWI were explained by the 2-step hydrolysis of WAS, consisting of the initial disintegration of the easily degradable part of the sludge, followed by the subsequent disintegration of the hardlydegradable part of the sludge. WAS hydrolysis rates for 3 to 6 min of MWI were significantly lower than those for less than 3 min, or more than 6 min. From these results, 3 min MWI time and WAS of 31.51 g VSS/L (centrifugal thickener WAS) showed the most efficienthydrolysis of WAS at 36.0%. The profiles of total nitrogen (T-N) concentrations corresponded well to the SCOD increases in terms of the empirical formula of bacterial cell mass (C5H7O₂N). The negligible T-N increase and pH decrease during WAS hydrolysis by MWI will allowthe application of this process to subsequent biological processes, such as anaerobic digestion.

        C -11 및 F - 18 표지 콜린의 합성과 체내동태에 관한 연구

        Objectives: Recently, [methyl-(11)^C]-(β-Hydroxyethyl)trimethylammonium ([(11)^C]choline) has been discovered to be a very effective tracer in imaging various human tumors using positron emission tomography. Because of the short half-life of C-11, it is very difficult to use in a routine imaging procedure and needs a frequent synthesis of [(11)^]choline. This can be supplemented by the substitution of [(11)^Ccholine with [methyS-18]fluorocholine. Here, we would like to report cell uptake and biodistribution of [(11)^Ccholine and [(18)^F]fluorocholine as a basic study. Methods [(11)^C]Choline was prepared by the treatment of [(11)^C]CHzI with N,N-dimethylaminoethanol and [18F]fluorocholine was synthesized from reaction of CHzBr[18F]F with N,N-dimethylaminoethanol. The radiochemical purity was checked by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The biodistribution of [(11)^C]choline and [(18)^F]fluorocholine was determined in balb/c mouse at 5 min, 20 min, 40 min and 80 min. The cell uptake wa measured using glioma (9L) and colon adeocarcinoma (SW620). Results: The radiochemical purity was more than 98% after purification. In the liver, uptake did not change over time the uptake was 20/ID/g for [C]choline and 13%ID/g for [(18)^F]fluorocholine. In the kidney, radioactivity decreased over tirne the uptake was 15%1D/g for [(11)^Ccholine and 20%ID/g for [(18)^F]fluorocholine, 80 min post-injection. The cell uptake of [(11)^Ccholine was 4.93% for glioma (9L) and 18.69F for colon adenocarcinoma (SW620). For [(18)^F]fluorocholine, 1.77% for glioma (9L) and 2.77% for colon adenocarcinoma (SW620). Conclusion: [(11)^CCholine and [(18)^F]fluorocholine showed a different cell uptake tendency, depending on cancer cell line. (Korean J Nucl Med 200135:185-191)
