But identified results were not obvious. V_2O_5 catalzed oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to aldehydes and ketones respectively at alkali conditions under Solod-Liquid phase transfer conditions. This reaction affords good overall yields of products without formation of undersirable.

<P> Pretreatment of somatic cells with undifferentiated cell extracts, such as embryonic stem cells and mammalian oocytes, is an attractive alternative method for reprogramming control. The properties of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) are similar to those of embryonic stem cells; however, no studies have reported somatic cell nuclear reprogramming using iPSC extracts. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effects of porcine iPSC extracts treatment on porcine ear fibroblasts and early development of porcine cloned embryos produced from porcine ear skin fibroblasts pretreated with the porcine iPSC extracts. The Chariot<SUP>TM</SUP> reagent system was used to deliver the iPSC extracts into cultured porcine ear skin fibroblasts. The iPSC extracts-treated cells (iPSC-treated cells) were cultured for 3 days and used for analyzing histone modification and somatic cell nuclear transfer. Compared to the results for nontreated cells, the trimethylation status of histone H3 lysine residue 9 (H3K9) in the iPSC-treated cells significantly decreased. The expression of <I>Jmjd2b</I>, the H3K9 trimethylation-specific demethylase gene, significantly increased in the iPSC-treated cells; conversely, the expression of the proapoptotic genes, <I>Bax</I> and <I>p53</I>, significantly decreased. When the iPSC-treated cells were transferred into enucleated porcine oocytes, no differences were observed in blastocyst development and total cell number in blastocysts compared with the results for control cells. However, H3K9 trimethylation of pronuclear-stage-cloned embryos significantly decreased in the iPSC-treated cells. Additionally, <I>Bax</I> and <I>p53</I> gene expression in the blastocysts was significantly lower in iPSC-treated cells than in control cells. To our knowledge, this study is the first to show that an extracts of porcine iPSCs can affect histone modification and gene expression in porcine ear skin fibroblasts and cloned embryos.</P>
Bone formation with alloplastic graft substitutes in critical-sized rat calvarial defects

The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether the level of bone formation differed according to the ratio of the hydroxyapatite (HA) and beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) components. Materials and Methods: In the cranial area of 60 rats, bone grafts were performed using four bone graft materials with different ratios of HA/β-TCP: (1) unfilled defect, (2) HA (100%), (3) HA (70%)/β-TCP (30%), (4) HA (30%)/β-TCP (70%), and (5) β-TCP (100%). The rats were sacrificed after 4 weeks or 8 weeks, and the bone formation area was evaluated under a light microscope. Results: In the 4-week groups, the bone formation area in the rats grafted with β-TCP (100%) was 0.75±0.21 mm2, and slightly larger bone formation areas were observed than in other groups; nonetheless, these values were not statistically significant in comparison with the other groups. Similarly, significant differences were not shown among any other groups. In the 8-week groups, in the rats grafted with HA (100%) and HA (30%)/β-TCP (70%), bone formation was observed to be 2.60±1.03 mm2 and 2.56±0.93 mm2, respectively. Thus, more abundant bone formation was observed in these two groups than in the other three groups, and this difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Based on the results, the amount of new bone formation is greatest when bone grafts are performed using the graft materials HA 100% or HA (30%)/β-TCP (70%); thus, good bone formation outcomes are expected when using these materials in humans.

To demonstrate the prevalence of Toxocara spp eggs in public playgrounds in Seoul city, sand samples collected from March to November in 2001 were examined. Of 2,600 sand samples from 650 playgrounds surveyed, 41 sands from 39 places(6%) had Toxocara canis eggs. Sand samples in apartment complex were more contaminated(9.7%) with the eggs than in residential area(2.4%). Toxocara canis eggs in sands were found in large number of in the spring but other seasons were less found.

Beauty was expressed only in hair illustration aesthetic expression through radical approach is not only to help substantially in hair design hair illustration illustrations to help them develop jungyimyeo hair sketch is activated. However, compared to the still insufficient sleep, fashion illustration, and at this point, to reach the level of advanced beauty culture of the hair care and the development of illustrations is the time necessary. The results of this study represent the characteristics of fashion illustrations than the hair from the depth and variety shows that were lacking a lot of high quality hair illustrations in-depth research is needed. To this end, the future professional development of the domestic needs of the hair illustrations and beauty industry professionals and also the high miyonghak illustrations of hair care and design process for the development of a variety of development will also be made.

Samples of Corbicula japonica in the Seomjin River were collected from March 2016 to November 2016. Age of C. japonica was determined from the rings on the shell. The relationship between shell length (SL; mm) and shell height (SH; mm) was expressed by the following equation : SH = 0.8981SL - 0.4166 (R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.97), and between shell length (SL) and shell width (SW; mm) by the equation SW = 0.5715SL + 0.1583 (R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.95). Shell length (SL; mm) and total weight (TW; g) relation was also expressed by the following equation : TW = 0.0003SL<SUP>3.0078</SUP> (R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.97). Based on the monthly variations in the marginal index (MI) of the shell, it is assumed that the ring of this species was formed once a year during the period of March. The time it takes to form the ring is estimated to be about 7 months (0.58 years). von Bertalanffy"s growth parameters were estimated using the regression wizard of Sigmaplot (Systat Software, Inc., v. 10.0), a computer program. Maximum shell length (SL∞) was 40.1455 mm, growth rate k was 0.3564/year, theoretical age at 0 shell length (t0) was 0.0644 year, and asymptotic total weight (TW∞) was 19.98 g. Growth curves for shell height (SH) and total weight (TW) fitted to the von Bertalanffy"s equation were expressed as follows : SLt = 40.1455(1―e<SUP>―0.3564(t―0.0644)</SUP>), TWt = 19.98(1―e<SUP>―0.3564(t―0.0644)</SUP>)<SUP>3.0078</SUP>
