Propylthiouracil에 의한 중증 급성간염 1예

PTU에 의한 간염의 발생은 매우 드물게 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있으나 저자들은 Graves씨 병으로 진단 받고 propylthiouracil 투여를 받고있던 환자에서 중증의 급성 간염이 발생한 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Propylthiouracil is widely used to treat patients with hyperthyroidism. This drug has been associated with severe hepatotoxicity rarely. We presented the case of jaundice and profound liver dysfunction from a 23-year old woman treated with propylthiouracil for hyperthyroidism. Viral, metabolic, and autoimmune liver disease could be excluded and liver biopsy revealed a pattern of acute hepatitis. After discontinuing the drug, there was a progressive resolution of hepatic symptoms and decrease in biochemical data of the liver. Despite propylthiouracil induced hepatitis in rare case, patients receiving propylthiouracil are exposed to develope severe hepatotoxicity. Therefore it might be advisable to monitor level of the transaminase on regular base from patients receiving propylthiouracil.

In this paper we model each cell as a set of the triangle and present the handoff area using a subset of the triangle. So, handoff area can be presented depending on radius-division degree of a cell easily. we predict that a mobile station can go our or not the current cell depending on mobile station' speed, direction. We propose a calculation method of handoff rate and handoff call number using the mobile station' moving speed, direction.
규칙기반 시스템과 데이터베이스 관리 시스템의 통합 기법에 관한 연구

It is useful of the integration of rule systems into DBMS. Because rule-based system supports a eminent inference and analysis power and relational DBMS manages efficiently large data supporting consistency and independency. In this paper, we compares and analyzes the three approach for the integration of rule system into DBMS. Also we design inference system for rule-based database system.
Competitive PCR법을 이용한 Marine birnavirus(MABV)의 정량적 검출

기존의 어류 병원성 바이러스 연구에 있어 주화세포를 이용한 TCID_50과 plaque assay는 미량의 바이러스에 대해, 그리고 현재 많이 사용되고 있는 polymerase chain reaction(PCR)은 정확한 정량이 힘들다는 것이 각각 단점으로 지적된 바 있다. 이에 어류 병원 바이러스를 효율적으로 조사하기 위한 방법을 개발하고자 연안 양식장에 만연해 있는 marine birnavirus(MABV)를 대상으로 competitive PCR을 이용하여 그 감도 및 정량성 여부를 시험하였다. 본 연구에서 1.44×10^7 PFU/㎖의 바이러스 액에 대해 10^4배 희석한 바이러스 시료까지 검출이 가능하였고, 이 바이러스 액 200㎕에는 약 100 copy의 MABV cDNA가 존재함을 확인할 수 있어 이와 같은 바이러스 유전자의 양을 토대로 간접적인 추정이 가능할 것으로 판단되었다. 감염된 개체에 있는 viral genome의 수는 질병의 진행을 monitor하는 데 중요한 parameter의 하나로서 이 방법을 이용하여 얻어진 정보는 infection stage의 구분에 대한 기초자료로 이용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. It has been shown that TCID_50 and plaque assay might be hard to apply for the analysis of small amount of virus. Additionally polymerase chain reaction(PCR) does reply the quantity of virus correctly. Thus we developed the competitve PCR, and effective mean to investigate fish pathogenic virus, and analyzed the sensitivity against marine birnavirus (MABV). In this study, the virus sample of 1.44×10^7PFU/㎖ was detected after up to 10^4 dilution. And the existence of 100 copies MABV cDNA was identified with the competitive PCR in this virus sample. These results indicated that the indirect presumption was available on the basis of the amounts the viral genome. Viral genome's number in the infected individual can be used as the fundamental data to divide the infection stage and to monitor the progress of disease.

Background and Objectives : Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), a 170-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein, appears to mediate epidermal growth factor (EGF) activity. Transforming growth factor-α and EGF produce their biological effects in numerous systems by stimulating the EGFR In this study, we examine the postnatal development of EGFR immunoreactivity in the different regions of the thalamus of the rat Materials and Methods : The present study is based on 28 postnatal cases of rat thalamus ranging from the day of birth, postnatal day 0 (P0) to 30 days (P3, P5, P10, P15, P20, P30), and these cases were compared with adult rat thalamus. Cryostat sections were processed free-floating with monoclonal antibody by immunohistochemistry Results : EGFR immunoreactivity in the thalamus of the rat showed very different patterns according to postnatal ages and thalamic areas. EGFR-immunoreactive cells appeared in the first two postnatal weeks, except the ventral posterior thalamic nuclei. In the early postnatal days, EGFR-immunoreactive cells appeared thalamic midline structures, increased progressively in the first two postnatal weeks, and followed mediolateral gradient. The mature patterns of EGFR-immunoreactive cells were achieved at P20 Conclusion : These data indicate that the maturation of EGFR-immunoreactive cells requires a relatively prolonged period of time to achieve an adult configuration. Many growth factors probably play protective or neurotrophic roles at EGFR-immunoreactive neurons of thalamus both young and adult rats In addition to difference in time of appearance in thalamic nuclei and developing pattern with mediolateral gradient suggest that EGFR-immunoreactivities are correlated with the appearance of the related functional.

Lactase non-persistence (LNP), one of the causes of lactose intolerance, is related to lactase gene associated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Since the frequency of LNP varies by ethnic group and country, the research to reveal the presence or absence of LNP for specific people has been conducted worldwide. However, in East Asia, the study of lactase gene associated SNPs have not been sufficiently examined so far using ancient human specimens from archaeological sites. In our study of Joseon period human remains (n=14), we successfully revealed genetic information of lactase gene associated SNPs (rs1679771596, rs41525747, rs4988236, rs4988235, rs41380347, rs869051967, rs145946881 and rs182549), further confirming that as for eight SNPs, the pre-modern Korean people had a lactase non-persistent genotype. Our report contributes to the establishment of LNP associated SNP analysis technique that can be useful in forthcoming studies on human bones and mummy samples from East Asian archaeological sites.
Distinct Optical and Electrical Properties of Disparate Defect Domains in CVD-grown h-WS₂ Monolayers

Atomic Vacancies in two-dimensional tungsten disulfide (WS<sub>2</sub>) can be primary contributors to charge-carrier scattering, doping effects varying optical properties. [1,2,3] At the specific chemical vapor deposition condition, tungsten or sulfur vacancies in WS<sub>2</sub> are arisen with a hexagonal domain growth. In detail, the photoluminescence (PL) in these WS<sub>2</sub> flakes exhibits the alternating bright and dark PL emission along with the heterogeneous defect domains. As well, the contact potential difference in the WV domains was larger than the SV domains in the Scanning Kelvin Probe Microscopy measurement.
