This study assessed the utility of netted melon ‘Top Earl’s’ and cantaloupe melon ‘Alex’ as functional fruits by analysing their moisture content, vitreous sugar, folic acid, citric acid, and beta-carotene levels. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to analyse the free sugar, folic acid, citric acid, and beta-carotene levels. The moisture content was not significantly different between ‘Top Earl’s’ and ‘Alex.’ The glucose, sucrose, and fructose contents were three, two, and one-and-a-half fold higher in ‘Alex’ than in ‘Top Earl’s.’ Moreover, citric acid was approximately three times higher in ‘Alex’ than that in Top Earl’s.’ However, the folic acid content was higher in ‘Top ‘Earl’s’ than ‘Alex,’ and the amount was 124 μg / 100 g FW and 112 μg / 100 g FW respectively. ‘Beta-carotene was undetectable in ‘Top Earl’s,’ whereas it was 1000 μg / 100 g FW in ‘Alex.’ β-carotene, a substance that is converted in the body into vitamin A and acts as an antioxidant, is an important component in healthy food. These results suggested that the cantaloupe melon ‘Alex’ has a higher free sugar content and functional ingredients, such as antioxidants, including citric acid and beta carotene, than the netted melon ‘Top Earl’s.’

Objective: Present an unusual case Target: Adanced practicioners Methods: Background and Aims: We present a case of iatrogenic gastric perforation caused by umbilical trocar insertion with subsequent laparoscopic primary repair. Design: Case study. Patients: A 58-year-old Korean woman with no history of abdominal surgery was scheduled to undergo a laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy for myoma ureti. Interventions: Laparoscopy. Results: A 58-year-old Korean woman had a laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy on June 26, 2019. During abdominal entry, a 5-mm trocar was then placed by direct trocar insertion method, but introduction of the laparoscope revealed that it had been placed within the lumen of the stomach. We inserted nasogastric tube to remove gas and liquid from the stomach. The stomach perforation, which had been marked by leaving the original trocar in place and appeared to be an 5-mm clean injury with minimal bleeding The perforation site was repaired laparoscopically with 2-0 vicryl sutures, using intracorporeal interrupted full-thickness suture. Her nasogastric tube was removed on postoperative day one. The patient did well postoperatively and recovered without complications. Conclusion: Our experience indicate that laparoscopic primary repair of gastric perforation caused by umbilical trocar insertion is safe and feasible.

( Eunbi Kim ),( Joong Sub Choi ),( Jae Man Bae ),( Won Moo Lee ),( Un Suk Jung ),( Jeong Min Eom ) 대한산부인과학회 2019 대한산부인과학회 학술대회 Vol.105 No.-
Objective: Present an unusual case Target: Adanced practicioners Methods: Background and Aims: To investigate the feasibility of laparoscopic myomectomy in case of periurethral leiomyoma. Methods: Design: Case study. Patients: A 40-year-old Korean woman presented with 6cm sized palpable mass bulging the anterior vaginal wall. Interventions: Laparoscopy. Results: A 40-year-old Korean woman had a laparoscopic periurethral myomectomy on July, 04, 2019. Her preoperative MRI showed a tumor originating from the dorsal and left lateral part of the urethra and developing in the vesicouterine space and vesicovaginal septum. A laparoscopic approach with development of the vesicouterine space permitted a safe exposition of the myoma. After the bladder and vaginal wall had been completely freed, further dissection was conducted with isolation of the distal cranio-dorsal portion of the urethra. The dissection plane with the vaginal wall was developed up to the caudal margin of the urethral myoma and total excision of the myoma was performed. Conclusion: Our experience indicates that laparoscopic management of periurethral leiomyomas that develop into the vesicouterine space and vesicovaginal septum is feasible and safe.

Toluene, xylene and styrene are volatile organic solvents that are commonly used in mixtures in many industries. Because these solvents are metabolized and then excreted in urine, their urinary metabolites are thought to be biomarkers of occupational exposure to these solvents. Therefore, a simple, rapid, and yet reliable analytical method for determining the metabolites is required for accurate biological monitoring. In the present study, a simple and rapid HPLC-UV method was developed for the simultaneous determination of eight major metabolites of toluene, xylene and styrene: hippuric acid (HA), mandelic acid (MA), o-, m- and p-methylhippuric acids (o-, m- and p-MHAs), and o-, m- and p-cresols. A monolithic column was employed as the stationary phase and several conditions, including flow rate, composition of mobile phase and column temperature, were variables for the optimization of the chromatographic resolution. All eight metabolites were successfully resolved within 5 minutes in 10% aqueous ethanol containing 0.3% acetic acid and 1.6% $\beta$-cyclodextrin, using a flow rate gradient of 1.0 - 5.0 mL/min at 25 ${^{\circ}C}$. The performance of this method was validated by linearity, intra- and inter-day accuracy, and precision. The linearity was observed with correlation coefficients of 0.9998 for HA, 0.9999 for MA, 0.9989 for o-MHA, 0.9998 for m-MHA, 0.9991 for p-MHA, 0.9997 for o-cresol, 0.9998 for m-cresol, and 0.9986 for p-cresol. The intra- and inter-day precision of the method were less than 5.89% (CV) and the accuracy ranged from 92.95 to 106.62%. The validity was further confirmed by analysis of reference samples that were prepared by the inter-laboratory quality assurance program of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA, Seoul, Korea). All measured concentrations of the analytes agreed with the certified values.
