        혈전 발생의 위험 인자가 없는 환자에서 급성 신우신염에 의해 유발된 신정맥 혈전증 및 폐색전증

        Renal vein thrombosis (RVT) is not an uncommon condition amongst patients with nephrotic syndrome or malignancy. Septic pulmonary embolism (SPE) is associated with risk factors such as intravenous drug use, pelvic thrombophlebitis, and suppurative processes in the head and neck. However, acute pyelonephritis is a rare cause of RVT and SPE. Case reports on RVT and SPE due to acute pyelonephritis are rare. In most of the earlier cases, patients had underlying conditions such as diabetes mellitus, renal carcinoma, calyceal stones, and hyperhomocysteinemia. We report a case of acute pyelonephritis complicated by RVT and SPE that occurred in a patient without any predisposing risk factors for thromboembolism. RVT and SPE were diagnosed using computed tomography and ventilation/perfusion scan. The patient recovered with antibiotics and anticoagulation therapy without any surgical interventions.

        pH순환 모델에서 과포화 용액의 초기 우식 법랑질에 대한 재광화 효과

        Dental caries is the most common oral disease. There are many factors contributing to its development. but complete understanding and prevention are not fully know. However, it is possible to remineralize the early enamel carious lesion by fluoride containing remineralization solution. Recently the pH-cycling model has been used to examine the effect of fluoride solution on remineralization of artificial caries in vitro as it can closely simulate the conditions encountered in vivo within a carefully controlled enviroment.

        유전치의 전장피개수복 : 증례보고

        치아우식증, 외상, 발육성 결함으로 광범위한 수복이 필요한 유전치의 치료는 소아치과의사에게 있어서 매우 까다로운 문제이다. 이상적인 수복수술은 강도, 내구성, 심미성과 장착의 효율성을 모두 갖추어야 한다. 이에 행동조절문제가 있는 어린이를 치료하는 기술적 문제를 더하면, 여러 가능한 수복 방법 중에서 적절한 술식을 선택하는 것은 어려운 일이다. 현재 사용되는 수복술식에는 복합레진의 접착을 사용한 celluloid strip crown, conventional stainless steel crown, open-faced stainless steel crown, commercially 및 chairside veneered stainless steel crown과 epoxy-coated stainless steel crown 등이 있다. 이 모든 술식이 나름대로의 기술적, 기능적 또는 심미적 단점을 갖고 있어 각각의 효율적이고 효과적인 사용을 위해서는 적절한 선택이 중요하다. 이에 저자는 이러한 여러 가지의 전장피개수복 방법을 사용해 유전치를 치료하여 그 결과를 보고하는바이다. Primary anterior teeth requiring extensive restorative therapy due to caries, trauma or developmental defects can present a particularly challenging problem for the pediatric dentist. The ideal restorative technique would combine strength, durability, esthetics and efficiency in placement. Couple these concerns with the technical difficulties of operating on children with behavior management problems, and the dentist is left with the difficult tack of choosing from a variety of restorative options. Restorative modalities currently in use to treat primary anterior teeth include bonding with composite resin as in celluloid strip crowns, conventional stainless steel crowns, open-faced stainless steel crowns, commercially and chairside veneered stainless steel crowns and epoxy-coated stainless steel crowns. Each of these techniques presents technical, functional or esthetic compromises that complicate their efficient and effective usage. This is a report of the results obtained at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. College of Dentistry, Seoul National University, through the use of these various methods of treating primary anterior teeth.

        당밀의 첨가가 갈근탕박 사일리지의 품질과 산양의 기호성에 미치는 영향

        Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of molasses supplementation to silage materials in ensiling Galgeuntang (herbal medicine) meal on the quality of silage, and its palatability in Korean native goats. In experiment Ⅰ, molasses was added at the levels of 0, 0.5, and 1.0% to Galgeuntang meal with three replicates per treatment. In experiment Ⅱ, three 1.5-yr-old Korean native goats were used to measure palatability. In experiment Ⅰ, lactic acid contents in molasses treatments were significantly(p<0.05) higher, and pH and butyric acid contents were lower than those of non-molasses treatment. In addition, molasses treatment increased total microbial cell counts in MRS medium for lactobacillus, but decreased total microbial cell counts in PDA medium for fungi. Molasses supplementation to silage materials increased in vitro dry matter disappearance. Molasses supplementation tended to increase silage intake in Korean native goat (experiment Ⅱ), but the difference was not significant(p>0.05). It is concluded that molasses supplementation to silage materials in ensiling herbal medicine meal could improve its preservability and palatability, the higher the better.

      • Primary Empty Sella 증후군 1례

        The pimapty sella syndrome results from and extension of the subarachnoid space into and intrasellar position with subsequent remodeling of the sella turcica and flattening of the pituitary gland. We experienced a case of primary emty sella syndrome in a 14-year-old male patient who was hospitalized because of short stature and micropenis. The endocrinologic studies revealed growth hormone and gonadotropin hormone deficiencies. The magnetic resonance imaging showed sella turica filled with CSF and flattened pituitary glad. The patient was followed-up with growth hormone therapy and the result was favorable.

      • 스마트 미디어 카드를 이용한 교통사고 영상 저장 방법

        This paper describes a method for saving traffic accident images in SMC(Smart Media Card), which is served as objective proof. SMC served being small-sized, strong, easy to attach and take off, which enables users image and voice-information service such as digital camera, MP3 Player, PDA and so on. Above all on account of it's high-speed in saving. The result of using SMC is saved pictures for 15 second before and after traffic accident image(320×240×8bit) into 8 frames/sec using a voice-recognition method or image recognition method. These pictures can be revived by PDA or mobile computer through up-loading serial/parallel communication or USB communication. This method could be applied to develop BLACKBOX.

      • 경화방법에 따른 아크릴 레진 표면의 물리적 성질에 관한 연구

        Two principal techniques have been used in relining dentures: the direct intraoral application of acrylic resin and the indirect method which use heat cured acrylic resin. In this study, to observe the physical properties of acrylic resin surfaces by curing procedure in indirect methods which used heat cured acrylic resin and self cured ??erylic resin. The results were as follows: 1. In two types of resin, the surface hardness of heat cured specimen higher than self cured specimen. 2. In two of resin, there was difference in the surface roughness. 3. In two types of resin, the surface porosity of self cured specimen more larger and number than heat cured specimen.

        대전광역시 양축농가의 축분뇨 관리 실태 및 VOCs 농도 조사

        This study was carried out to investigate the style of livestock house, concentration of malodorous substances of livestock feces and livestock houses in Daejeon area. Among the livestock houses investigated, as most of cow pens(94.5%) have sawdust or chaff on the bottom, there was no leakage of feces out of pen. Most pig pens adopted slury style, but some of them currently use buffering material on the bottom. It is thought that there will be no possible contamination leakage. When it comes to hen house, all the broiler house use litters on the bottom and all the layer house use scrapper. It is also thought that there will be no possible contamination leakage. 3 out of 12 deer pens used buffering material on the bottom, 10 places were maintained in a traditional method, and 7 places left possibility of contamination leakage considering whether the roof was installed or not. The contents of ammonia, amine and volatile fatty acid in fresh feces were lower compared to rotten feces, but the concentration of sulfur-containing matter - hydrogen sulfide, methylmercapthan and ethylmercapthan were higher compared to rotten feces. In the case of malodorous ingredient in livestock houses, only small amount of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide were detected in pig pen and hen house, and other ingredients were not detectable. And those who are engaged in animal husbandry reacted negatively to the use of feed additives for decreasing malodor. In conclusion, it is not worrisome that contamination can be leaked out of animal raising facilities. But if we take into consideration that the point of investigation time is wintry season, there should be more considerate attitude. And feed additives for decreasing malodor need establishing criteria in the manufacturing process.
