        염증성 근섬유모세포종의 증례보고

        The inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (inflammatory pseudotumor) is a rarely occurring soft tissue lesion of unknown etiology. It can be of any location, but commonly it is found in lungs. It has been considered as a nonneoplastic reactive inflammatory lesion, but nowadays, confusion and dispute about its character is increasing due to its high recurrence rate and metastasis. We present a patient who had been diagnosed with an inflammatory pseudotumor in the right maxilla area, 1 year before visiting our hospital. After that, her pain and swelling did not resolved and she visit our hospital. On radiographic examination, aggressively infiltrative growth of the lesion with destruction of adjacent bony structure was noted. We found unusual aggressiveness of the inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor of the head and neck region. Because the typical behavior of the inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is not defined yet, we recommend the surgical excision of the lesion and close follow-up.

      • 모유 수유아와 조제 분유 영양아에서 수유 방법에 따른 아미노산 농도 비교 및 혈청 트립토판 농도와 수면 유도와의 관계

        Objective: Sleep behavior is modulated by serotonergic neurons within the brain, and the synthesis and release of serotonin by such neurons is thought to be influenced by the availability of tryptophan, the amino acid precursor of serotonin. Formula-feeding infants have depressed plasma tryptophan concentration relative to breast milk-feeding infants. Because tryptophan alters sleep waking patterns in adults, a study was designed to determine the difference of sleep latency relative to differences in plasma tryptophan and tryptophan : large neutral amino acid (LNAA) ratio between formula-feeding infants and breast milk-feeding infants. Method: 45 newborns who were born in Chosun University Hospital from December 2002 to December 2003 were selected. The newborns were divided to three group, 15 newborns were fed breast milk and 15 newborns were fed formula A, and last 15 newborns were fed formula B. At 6 weeks and 12 weeks, infants were sampled for measuring of serum amino acid level and tryptophan, tryptophan : LNAA ratio. And we taught infants' parents to measure sleep latency that means the time after a feeding to the first episode of active REM sleep that persist ≥ 1 min. Result: 1) At 6weeks, Serum α-amino-n-butyric acid, citrulline, tryptophan level was higher in formula A group than breastmilk group (P<0.05) and proline level was lower than breast milk group (P<0.05). In formula B group, serum n-amino-n-buryric acid, citrulline, cystine, hydroxylysine, hydroxyproline, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, taurine, threonine, valine levels were higher than breastmilk group (P<0.05). And Serum isoleucine, methionine, proline, valine level were higher in formula B group than formula A group (P<0.05). 2) At 12 weeks, serum glutamic acid, methionine, ornithine levels were higher in formula group A than breast milk group (P<0.05). Serum β-alanine, aspartic acid, α-amino-n-butyric acid, ethanolamine, glutamic acid, threonine level were higher in formula B group than breast milk group (P<0.05). Serum β-alanine, ethanolamine levels were higher and arginine level was lower in formula B group than formula A (P<0.05). 3) At 6 weeks, serum tryptophan concentration and tryptophan: LNAA ratio were higher in formula A group (P<0.05). Sleep latency was 21 minutes in formula group A, 24 minutes in breast milk group, 25 minutes in formula B group but there was no statistically significance (P>0.05). 4) At 12 weeks, serum tryptophan concentration and tryptophan: LNAA ratio, time after feeding to the first episode of active REM sleep were no difference with each other group. Conclusion: There is significant difference of serum amino acids between breast-feeding infants and formula-feeding infants. And serum tryptophan and tryptophan: LNAA ratio differ between brest-feeding infants and formula-feeding infants. But there is no association between serum tryptophan, tryptophan: LNM ratio and sleep latency.

      • 菜蔬類의 原形質體融合에 관한 硏究

        This study was carried out to investigate the optimal conditions for producing somatic cell hybrids of vegetables. The conditions investigated are enzyme concentrations and duration of treatment for isolation of protoplast, concentration of PEG 4000 for fusion of isolated protoplasts, and viability of isolated protoplasts and fused protoplasts. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The size of onion protoplasts which are isolated from white mesophyll tissue is 52.6μm. The size of welsh onion and nanking shallot protoplasts is almost uniform (about 45μm) but the size of tomato and potato protoplasts isolated from callus tissue is various(21 to 86μm). 2. The optimal conc. of enzyme for isolation of protoplasts in the mesophyll tissue of radish, chinese cabbage, welsh onionm, and nanking ahallot are 0.5% macerozyme and 1.0% cellulase. While the onion is 0.5% macerozyme and 1.5% cellulase. 3. The optimal duration of enzyme treatment for produced intact protoplasts were 4hr in chinese cabbage, 5hr in radish, 3hr in welsh onion, and 2hr in nanking shallot and onion respectively. 4. Isolated protoplasts from mesophyll tissus were fused easily and produced the hetero-karyon with 25-35% PEG 4000 in inter-or intraspecies, while protoplasts of tomato and potato derived from cell were not fused easily. 5. The isolated protoplasts were viable until 1-2 days duration of culture, after 3-4 days they were died. The fused protoplasts regenerate cell wall in 1-2 days, while cell division and morphological changes were not observed.

        나이에 따른 한국인 정상 이하선의 전산화단층촬영값의 차이

        Purpose : To determine normal CT number range of parotid gland by analyzing the change by age increase and the difference among individuals and between both sexes in CT number of normal parotid gland. Materials & Methods : 134 subjects who took the CT scan between the period of Jan. 1996 and Dec. 1997 at Yonsei University, Dental Hospital were selected. Criteria for selection were that the patients must be within the normal range clinically and radiologically, and the entire parotid gland on the axial view must be shown. Among the axial views, the one showing the greatest parotid gland size was selected and its CT number was recorded. Also, CT numbers from both masseter muscle were recorded as its control. Results : There was statistically significant correlation between CT number of right and left of parotid glands and masseter muscles. With the increase of age, there is a significant decrease in the CT number of parotid gland(p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in CT number between sexes except the 7th decade and beyond age group of parotid gland(p>0.05). Conclusion : As age increases, CT number of parotid gland has a tendency to decrease, and there is no significant difference in the CT numbers between left and right parotid gland. Therefore in the CT scan of patients suspected of having a salivary gland disease of the parotid gland, to consider normal range of the age-dependent CT numbers of parotid gland and compare the CT numbers of the right and left parotid gland might be useful in diagnosing the disease.(J Korean Oral Maxillofac Radiol 1999;29:451-458)

        소프트웨어 시스템의 대규모화, 복잡화, 다양화는 소프트웨어의 비용 중 70% 이상을 차지하는 유지보수비용 때문에 유지보수 작업을 더욱 어렵게 만들었다. 효율적인 유지보수를 위해서는 다양한 소프트웨어를 표준화하는 절차와 방법론이 필요하며 유지보수 시 소프트웨어의 이해력 향상을 위한 자동화 도구를 개발하고 활용하는 것이 필연적인 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 설문을 바탕으로 국내 유지보수의 근원적인 문제점과 자동화 도구의 활용상의 문제점을 조사 분석하여 유지보수 이해력 지원도구 설계를 위한 기본전력을 수립하고, 이를 효율적으로 설계하기 위한 방안으로 유지보수 생명주기를 정의하였으며, 각 생명주기를 사용자의 특성과 환경에 따라 유연하게 적용할 수 있는 자동화 도구를 역공학 방법에 기초하여 설계하고자 하였다. 특히 기존의 자동화 도구가 일방적인 유지보수 관련 문서를 제공하는데 반해. 사용자 요구사항 명세서에서 핵심어(keyword)를 추출하여 사용자 관점에서 필요한 문서를 작성할 수 있도록 하였으며, 기존 자동화 도구와의 호환성을 유지할 수 있는 유지보수 이해력 향상을 위한 도구를 설계하고자 하였다.

        Chronic neutrophilic leukemia(CNL) is a very rare myeloproliferative disease, characterized by sustained mature neutrophilic leukocytosis with granulocytic bone marrow infiltration, high NAP(neutrophilic alkaline phosphatase) score and absence of philadelphia chromosome, It is frequently accompanied by hepatosplenomegaly, elevated serum vitamin B_12 and uric acid level. For the diagnosis of CNL, the leukemoid reaction, especially secondary to neoplasia, infection and autoimmune diseases, should be excluded. Since Tuohy's first description in 1920, more than 50 cases fullfilling the above criteria have been reported worldwide, and 4 cases in Korea. Several authors have demonstrated the defect of intracellualr killing in the mature neutrophil and this finding correlates well with the very high incidence of fatal infection, The hemorrhagic diasthesis in CNL is caused by functional abnormality of the platelet. This disease has tendency to transform to blastic crisis and acute leukemia as in other myeloproliferative disease, but characteristically shows frequent coexistence with multiple myeloma. Until now , the therapeutic trials in CNL have been disappointing. Hydroxyrea and busulfan can control hyperleukocytosis. On the basis of functional defect in neutrophil, alpha-2b-interferon has been tried and several reports have demonstrated the clinical and functional effect of interferon on CNL. CNL is very rate hematologic disease and there are few report about general aspect of disorder. We report here a typical CNL case presenting with splenomegaly and leukocytosis with a review of the literature.

      • n-CdS_(0.46)Se_(0.54)/p-Cu_92-x)S_(0.46)Se_(0.54) 이종접합 태양전지의 제작과 그 특성에 관한 연구

        승화방법에 의해 CdS_0.46Se_0.54 단결정을 성장하여 결정구조를 조사하고, Van der Pauw 방법으로 Hall effect를 측정하여 carrier density의 온도 의존성과 mobility의 온도 의존성을 조사하였다. 성장된 CdS_0.46Se_0.54 단결정을 치환반응하여 n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 이종접합 태양전지를 제작하였다. Spectral response, 전류-전압특성 및 전력변환 효율을 조사하여 그 결과로부터 개방전압은 0.48V, 단락 전류 밀도는 21mA/㎠, fill factor와 전력변환효율은 각각 0.75와 9.5%를 얻었다. CdS_0.46Se_0.54 single crystal was grown by a sublimation method. The crystal structure and the temperature dependence of carrier density and mobility of CdS_0.46Se_0.54 single crystal were studied. Heterojunction solar cells on n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 were fabricated by the substitution reaction. The spectral response, the J-U characteristics and the conversion efficiency of the n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 heterojunction solar cells were studied. The open-cricuit voltage, short-circuit density, fill factor and conversion efficiency of n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 heterojunction solar cells under 80mW/㎠ illumination were found to be 0.48V, 21mA/㎠, 0.75 and 9.5%, respectively.

        Clinical Significance of Physical Frailty in Subjects With Subjective Cognitive Decline: A Prospective Study With Amyloid PET Data

        Background and Purpose Physical frailty is known to be closely associated with cognitive impairment and to be an early sign of Alzheimer’s disease. We aimed to understand the characteristics of physical frailty and define factors associated with physical frailty in subjects with subjective cognitive decline (SCD) by analyzing amyloid data. Methods We prospectively enrolled subjects with SCD from a cohort study to identify predictors for the clinical progression to mild cognitive impairment or dementia from SCD (CoSCo). All of the subjects underwent brain magnetic resonance imaging, and brain amyloid positron- emission tomography (PET) to detect amyloid beta plaques. Self-reported exhaustion, handgrip strength, and gait speed were used to measure physical frailty. Results Of 120 subjects with SCD, 26 (21.7%) were amyloid-positive in PET. Female (odds ratio [OR]=3.79, p=0.002) and amyloid-PET-positive (OR=3.80, p=0.008) subjects with SCD were at high risks of self-reported exhaustion. Amyloid PET positivity (OR=3.22, p=0.047) and high burden from periventricular white-matter hyperintensity (OR=3.34, 95% confidence interval=1.18–9.46, p=0.023) were significantly associated with a weaker handgrip. The subjects with SCD with self-reported exhaustion and weaker handgrip presented with lower cognitive performance in neuropsychological tests, especially for information processing speed and executive function. Subjects with a slower gait performed worse in visual memory function tests. Conclusions Amyloid PET positivity was associated with a higher risk of self-reported exhaustion and weaker handgrip in subjects with SCD. The subjects with SCD and physical frailty also performed worse in neuropsychological tests.
