        대량수혈시 혈청 Na+, K+ 및 혈액내 Platelet 수의 변화

        Currently, the incidence of massive transfusions during operation has been increasing because the more complicated and invasive operations than before can be done due to enhanced technololgy in both anesthesia and surgery. In spite of marked improvement in immunology and transfusion technique, massive transfusions are associated with several problems usually not seen in normal transfusion practice. In order to evaluate the effect of massive transfusion on the serum sodium, potassium levels and platelet count in the blood during general anesthesia, we have retrospectively examined these values before and after massive transfusion in 62 patients who received at least one blood volume at Kosin Medical Center from January 1985 through May 1989. Statistical significance was assessed by using Student's t-test. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1) The average volume of transfusion was 5432 ml (13.4 units). 2) The total number of massive transfusions was 62 (0.47%), excluding cases with renal failure or open heart surgery, out of 13,213 anesthetic patients. 3) The hightest incidence of age distribution was from 50 to 59 years. 4) There were 2 fatalities (3.2%) that seemed to be due primarily to the transfused blood itself. 5) The decrease in the serum sodium concentration after transfusion was not statistically significant (p$gt;0.05). 6) There was a statistically significant decrease in serum potassium concentration after transfusion (p$lt;0.05). 7) The decrease in the platelet count after massive transfusion was by 44% which was statistically aignificant (p$lt;0.05). 8) Except for the decrease in the platelet count (p$lt;0.05), there was no statistical significance in the changes of sodium and potaasium levels (p$gt;0.05) after massive transfusion between the shock and non-shock groups. Since massive transfusion can be associated with the decrease in the serum potassium and platelet count, these patients blood levels should be monitored during and after maseive transfusion for proper management.

      • 섬오가피 분획의 항암면역 조절 활성 : Immunomodulatory Effects of Fractions of Acanthopanax koreanum

        Fractions (05HS-70, AA+KA and EB) of Acanthopanax koreanum Nakai were treated on immune cells in order to determine their immunomodulatory activites. Various Th-1 type cytokines were measured using ELISA including interleukin (IL)-2, IL-12, interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) secreted by dendritic cells (DC1, DC2), natural killer cells (NK92MI) and macrophages (RAW264.7). As a result, 05HS-70 and EB enhanced slightly secretion of IL-12 from both DC1 and DC2. The secretion of IL-12 was increased greatly by AA+KA. On the other hand IFN-γ secretion was increased greatly by EB but there was no change in the secretion of IL-12 by 05HS-70. In addition the secretion of TNF-α was increased by 05HS-70 while but there was no change in the secretion of TNF-α by AA+KA and EB.

        유산균 발효에 의한 겨우사리 중의 렉틴 성분의 변화 : pH, 온도의 영향, 당 특이성, 림프구 자극분열효과

        Lectin from mistletoe(Viscum coloratum) fermented by Lactobacillus plantarum was compared with the lectin from unfermented mistletoe. Agglunating activity of fermented mistletoe was stable at pH 3.77~8.71, at temperature range of $0~40^{\circ}C$ and in the presence of 9 mental ions, which results are similar to unfermented one, but less stable at pH 2.03~3.00 and more stable at temperature $60~80^{\circ}C$ than lectin from unfermented one. Agglunating activity of lectin from mistletoe fermented for 1 or 2 days and from fraction number 42~54 was not inhibited by all sugars used except for lectin from fraction number 21~34. Mitogenic activity to murine lymphpocytes of lectin from mistletoe was decreased by fermentation process.

      • Antioxidant Activity of Dextrin-Conjugated Cyanidin in U937 Macrophages

        Overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is known to play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of many cardiovascular diseases. In this study, we investigated the antioxidant activity of dextrin-conjugated cyanidin (DCC) from Acanthopanax divaricatus var. albeofructus (ADA) fruits against oxidative stress in hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-treated U937 macrophages. As a result, H2O2 generation and lipid peroxidation induced by H2O2-treatment was decreased by the treatment of DCC in U937 macrophages. In addition, increased activity of SOD and CAT was shown in H2O2-treated cells when treated with DCC. In conclusion, DCC could be potential candidates for the protection of macrophages against the damaging effects of H2O2-treatment.

        갈색세포종 적출시 Nitroprusside 를 사용한 마취경험 2예 보고

        Two cases of anesthetic experience for excision of pheochromocytoma were presented, one was diagnosed by abdominal computed tomography and urinary VMA level checked after cardiac arrest during previous anesthetic induction for gastric polypectomy at private clinic. The other case was diagnosed by upper GI series and abdominal sonography. Anesthesia was managed with glycopyrrolate and meperidine for premedication, thiopental for induction, isoflurane-nitrous oxide-oxygen for maintenance, pancuronium and vecuronium for muscle relaxation, and nitroprusside for controlling severe hypertensive episode. We experienced marked fluctuation of blood pressure during anesthetic course. Severe hypotension followed removal of tumor, which was corrected by rapid transfusion and infusion of crystalloids. Postanesthetic recovery and course were uneventful.

      • 혼합미셀 형성에 의한 베타카로틴의 가용화

        베타카로틴의 물에 대한 용해도는 담즙산염의 임계미셀농도에서 급속히 증가하였으며, 혼합미셀을 형성시 용해도가 더욱 우수하였다. 또한, 베타카로틴을 수용화 하는데 필요한 계면활성제의 최적비율은 1:5이며, 글리세롤, 레시틴, STPP, 젤라틴, 카라기난 등 각종 안정화제를 적절한 비율로 첨가하여 업자크기를 측정한 결과, 0.48 μm 의 안정된 혼합미셀 조성불을 얻을 수 있었으며, 이 조성불은 항산화활성이 거의 그대로 유지됨을 알수 있었다. β-Carotene is a member of hydrophobic pigments known as carotenoids, which are responsible for the bright warm colors in some fruits and vegetables, β-Carotene is an important antioxidant which protects the body from free radicals. The body converts β-carotene, a nontoxic vitamin A precursor, to vitamin A as needed. Dissolution in surfactant solutions above the critical micelle concentration offers one approach to the formation of poorly soluble materials in solution form. In the present study, the β-Carotene was dissolved in mixed micelles of bile salts (sodium cholate and sodium deoxycholate). Water-solubility of β-Carotene was estimated by measuring absorbance and phase diagram of water/β-Carotene/bile salts system was plotted. Effects of stabilizer on the stability of soluble β-Carotene was estimated by measuring the size of mixed micelles containing β -carotene. Antioxidative activity of hydrophobic and aqueous β-Carotene was estimated by measuring TBA value of linoleic acid emulsion incubated with anti oxidative components.

      • 효모 세포내 당, 계면활성제 및 효소에 따른 게르마늄의 흡수효과

        Yeast cells were incubated in the medium containing different concentrations of glucose and GeO2 to investigate the optimum conditions for uptake of germanium into the yeast cells. High concentrations of glucose in the medium was favorable for yeast growth but unfavorable for uptake of germanium into the cells. To increase the uptake of germanium into the cells. lysozyme, papain or/and Tween 80 added to the medium containing GeO2 individually or together at intervals during incubation. The distribuuon and cotent of germanium in the yeast cells mcubated at optimum conditions were measured and proteins in the yeast cells were isolated and compared with those from wild type yeast cells.

      • 유지의 산패도 변화에 대한 연구

        가열 조건에 따른 유지의 화학적 물리적 성질을 측정하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 유지의 산가는 가열시간이 경과함에 따라 증가했으며 단순 가열의 경우보다 튀김가열의 경우 산가의 증가가 휠씬 컸다. 2. 과산화물가는 가열시간이 경과함에 따라 초기단계에는 보편적으로 증가했으나 튀김가열의 경우 30시간 이후에는 과산화물가가 감소하는 결과를 가져왔다. 3.TBA 가는 유지의 가열시 높은 증가를 보였으나 가열시간이 경과함에 따라 20∼30시간에 최고치를 보이다가 감소하였으며 튀김가열의 경우 단순 가열시보다 전반적으로 TBA가가 약간 높았다. 4. 중합체는 가열처리된 유지는 표준유지보다 non-eluted material이 약간 증가되었으며 튀김가열의 경우 단순가열보다 다소 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 5. 점도는 가열시간이 경과함에 따라 서서히 증가했으며 튀김가열의 경우 단순가열시 보다 점도가 높았으며 초기변화의 폭이 컸다.
