We have studied the performance of the gas proportional counter tube using a mixture of argon and carbon cioxide (Ar-98%, CO_2-2%). In this report, by using a heating system, a gas proportional tube made of copper cylinder was covered with Cu_2O thin film. It's characteristics depending on the pressure in the counter tube are described. The shape and plateau curves resulting from the data were very similar to measurements which were reported in the past. We found that the possibility of production of the gas proportional counter tube exists in our laboratorty.
화학적침전법으로 제조된 Ba(Ce_x,Ti_1-x)O_3의 유전 특성에 관한 연구

Ba(Ce_x, Ti_(1-x))O_3 powders have been obtained by the pyrolysis of barium titanyl oxalate adding 0.04 mol% CeCl_3 solution. After calcinating the powders were cold-pressed into discs 10 mm dia. and 1 mm thick using a stainless steel die with a fabrication pressure of 24000 p.s.i.. The compacts were sintered in air at 1350℃ for 2hrs in a silicon tube furnace of SiC heating elements. The results that the permittivities at the Curie temperature are rapidly increased regardless of the amounts of Ce compound included in the barium titanate matrix agree with Curie-Weiss law.
重力場에서 Photon이 받는 deflection에 대한 硏究

Photoelecric effect and compton scattering uggest that a photon apparently acts as well a particle, and has a movement-mass. Therefore thae photon will be forced and deflected by the gravitational field caused by a material particle. This paper calcurates the angular deflection of a photon which passes by the material particle at its edge.
Geiger-Mu¨ller 計數管의 製作과 消減gas 混合比에 관한 硏究

It was studied the performance of the Geiger-Mu¨ller counter tube using a mixture of Ar gas and amyl alcohol gas. In this report, by using a chemical method, a Geiger-Mu¨ller counter tube made of. copper cylinder was coated with Cu_2O thin film. When the pressure and the mixing ratio of quenching gas in the Geiger-Mu¨ller counter tube were 10cmHg, 20cmHg, 30cmHg, 40cmHg and 5%, 10%, 15%, the characteristical curve of Geiger-Mu¨ller counter tube were showed in Fig.4, Fig.5, Fig.6, and Fig.7, respectively. In the case of the pressure 20mHg and the ratio 5%, the percentage slope and operating voltage resulting from data of Fig.5 were 0.009%, 1,300 volt, respectively. It is found that the possibility of production of the Geiger-Mu¨ller counter tube exists in our laboratory.

This paper is an attempt to discuss the measurement of the mass absorption coefficient in lead, aluminum and steel to the strongest penetrating gamma ray in radiation. The gamma ray used for the measurement, with 0.662Mev energy emitting from the radioisotope source of Cs-137, is monochromatic. After the gamma ray passes through the absorber, the intensity of the beam diminishes exponentially with absorber thickness. After the counting rates on each absorber was plotted to the semilog paper, its slope was calculated by the method of least squares. The mass absorption coefficient of lead was shown to be σ??=0.102㎠/gm aluminum σ??=0.076㎠/gm, and steel σ??=0.088㎠/gm. These results were very similar to measurements which were reported in the past.

A fiber optic magnetic sensor(FOMS) was made of single-mode optical fiber deposited Metglas cast alloy by using magneton sputtering. The matallic-glass-coated optical fibers were used as magnetic field sensing parts in one arm of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Inside a chamber containing Helmholtz coils which produced both a dc field and an ac field the sensing part was placed. the phase shift were measured as a function of the magnitude of the dc field and the frequency of the ac field. The phase shift amplitude to the magnitude of the ac field was measured to be 0.91rad/Oe, and a resonance enhancement factor of Q=95 was exhibited at the 245Hz frequency.
P^(147)_m의 Beta 붕괴의 의한 K-shell Shake off Ion化 확률

The probability of K-shell ionization in the beta decay of P_m^147 have been measured to be (0.98±0.08) X 10^4. The experimental result was compared with the values obtained from the previous measurements and the a model based on vacany creation mechanisms of shake off. A new theoretical approach taking account of the final correlation is desired to understand the phenomenon.
알루미늄합금-흑연 복합재료의 제조와 기계적 성질에 관한 연구

The preparation of aluminium alloy-graphite particle composite using uncoated graphite particles and the vortex method of dispersion are described. The pretreatment is required of heating the graphite particles to 400℃ in air for 1 hour just prior to their dispersion in the melts. It was also found that the stirrer shaft should be inclined 20˚∼25˚ from the vertical during the uncoated graphite particles being added. In aluminium alloy-graphite particle composite, the variation of mechanical properties at room temperature was investigated in accordance with the graphite content being varied from 0.5 wt% to 2.3 wt%. The values of tensile strength, elongation and hardness were significantly decreased with increasing the amount of graphite added, except for the value of yield strength.
