Objectives: The cytotoxcities of Au, Ag, SWCNT, $SiO_2$, and ZnO nanomaterials were evaluated in order to assess their potential toxicological effects in in vitro cell models using colony forming efficiency (CFE) assay. Methods: The CFE assay of the test materials was carried out on Hep G2 cells. The size distribution of nanomaterials was studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Changes in cell viability after treatment with a toxicant will result in a decreased number of colonies formed in comparison to solvent. Results: The TEM images show that all the particles except SWCNT and ZnO can be considered approximately spherical. The gold and $SiO_2$ nanoparticles show no response (no toxicity) in concentration response experiments. A statistically significant toxic effect was found in Hep G2 cells treated with Ag, SWCNT and ZnO nanomaterials. Conclusion: In this study, we considered CFE assay to be a promising test for screening studies for cytotoxicity with physicochemical analysis.
초등 담임교사의 진로교육 경험에 대한 질적 사례연구 : 진로교육 실천사례 연구대회 개인 분과 수상자를 중심으로

이 연구는 진로교육 실천사례 연구대회 개인 분과 수상자를 중심으로 초등 담임교사의 진로교육 경험을 심층 탐구하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 1년 이상 담임교사로서 진로교육을 수행하여 진로교육 실천사례 연구대회에서 입상한 초등교사 3명의 사례를 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 사례연구를 위해 연 구참여자의 진로교육 실천사례 연구보고서, 교사 기록물, 학생 기록물과 2021년 10월 12일 - 10월 19 일에 수행한 인터뷰 전사 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구 참여자들이 진로교 육 실천사례 연구대회에 참가하게 된 계기는 지금 당장 진로교육을 해야 해서, 연구하는 학교 문화의 영향을 받아서, 승진을 위해서, 교육 연구 경험을 학급에 실행해보기 위해서 이다. 둘째, 연구참여자들 은 우리 반 학생들의 특성을 반영하여, 진로교육으로 모든 교육활동을 꿰어내고 교육 공동체가 힘을 합쳐서 1년 동안 학급 진로교육을 실천하였다. 셋째, 연구참여자들은 진로교육 실천사례 참여 결과 학 생, 학부모, 교사가 성장하는 기회였다며 성과를 체감하였고, 교사의 노력만으로 극복하기 어려운 한계 를 경험하며 진로교육은 팀 스포츠라는 인식을 보였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 정부, 지역사회, 학교, 담 임교사의 적극적인 역할 분담과 실천을 주장하였다. 이 연구는 초등학교 진로교육에서 선도적 역할을 하고있는 담임교사들의 경험을 심층 탐구하여 초등학교 진로교육 발전을 위한 시사점을 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study is to explore the experience of best performing homeroom teachers who have taught career education for elementary school students. For this purpose, this study analyzed the individual category winner’s result reports of Career Education Field Study Contest which was held by the Ministry of Education. The reports included curriculum made by teachers as well as their notes on it, the feedback from participating students and their parents and contest summary. 3 teachers were selected as research participants and were interviewed from October 12 to October 19, 2021, to get more insights. The results of this study are as follows. First, research participants participated in the contest of career education due to various reasons, including career education being their current work objective, school workplace research oriented culture, for promotion advantages, and applying prior research experience to classroom. Second, the research participants adjusted the curriculum to reflect the special characteristics of their students, implemented career education into all educational activities, and worked together with the educational community members like other teachers and parents to plan and do activities throughout educational year. Third, the research participants felt that the participation in the contest is an opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to improve career development ability, but they also experienced the limitations of teachers' efforts that are impossible to overcome on an individual level acknowledging career education as a team sports. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that the government, local communities, schools, and homeroom teachers shall put effort on active collaboration, and practice to improve career education in elementary schools. The main contribution of this study is the exploration of the best performing career education homeroom teachers and finding insights on ways to improve career education in elementary schools.

Purpose: Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) is ubiquitous in the environment, but NTM lung disease (NTM-LD) is uncommon. Since exposure to NTM is inevitable, patients who develop NTM-LD are likely to have specific susceptibility factors, such as primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD). PCD is a genetically heterogeneous disorder of motile cilia and is characterized by chronic respiratory tract infection, organ laterality defect, and infertility. In this study, we performed whole exome sequencing (WES) and investigated the genetic characteristics of adult NTM patients with suspected PCD. Materials and Methods: WES was performed in 13 NTM-LD patients who were suspected of having PCD by clinical symptoms and/or ultrastructural ciliary defect observed by transmission electron microscopy. A total of 45 PCD-causing genes, 23 PCDcandidate genes, and 990 ciliome genes were analyzed. Results: Four patients were found to have biallelic loss-of-function (LoF) variants in the following PCD-causing genes: CCDC114, DNAH5, HYDIN, and NME5. In four other patients, only one LoF variant was identified, while the remaining five patients did not have any LoF variants. Conclusion: At least 30.8% of NTM-LD patients who were suspected of having PCD had biallelic LoF variants, and an additional 30.8% of patients had one LoF variant. Therefore, PCD should be considered in patients with NTM-LD with symptoms or signs suspicious of PCD.

[ $BARODON^{(R)}$ ] is a multi-purpose, high functional alkali solution made by mixing and liquid-ionizing silicon, calcium, sodium, borax, organic carbon chemicals and silver. In this study, we have investigated the apoptotic potential and mechanistic insights of $BARODON^{(R)}$ in human gastric cancer cell line (AGS cells). In MTT assay, $BARODON^{(R)}$ reduced cell viability in AGS cells. Morphological features of apoptosis with marked cytoplasmic vacuolation and appearance of apoptotic peaks in flow cytometry were observed in AGS cells with$BARODON^{(R)}$ treatment. In addition, $BARODON^{(R)}$ induced apoptosis of stomach cancer cell is related to bax up-regulation, caspase 7 protease activation and subsequent cleavage of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP). These results suggest that BARODON can induce the apoptosis of AGS cells through modulation of bcl-2 family and the activation of intrinsic caspase cascades, indicating that it is potentially useful as a anti-cancer agent.

Two local irritation and skin sensitization studies of nonspecific immunostimulator, BARODON® were carried out with New Zealand White rabbits and Hartley guinea pigs. In skin irritation test of male New Zealand White rabbits, body weights were not significantly changed and there were no responses after treatment for 24 or 72 hours and the Primary irritation index (P.I.I.) was ''0''. And, in the eye irritation test, there were chemosis in some of rabbits. One of 3 rabbits in washing group was detected chemosis after 24 and 72 h following treatment and 2 of 6 rabbits in non-washing group were detected chemosis after 24h and 7 days following treatment. Therfore, total score is ''4'' after 24 h and ''2'' after 72 h following treatment by conforming article "some blood vessel are clearly hyperemic". However evaluation value is non-irritant because M.O.I. (Mean ocular irritation index) score is below during the all experimental period and no significance through individuals and exposure time. In skin sensitization, the score of skin reaction was graded I with 0% sensitization rate. Taken together, these results indicate that BARODON® may be non-irritant material.
