        음나무(Kalopanax septemlobus Koidz.) 잎 추출물의 폴리페놀 및 항산화효과

        음나무 잎 추출물의 생리활성을 분석하기 위해 열수추출물과 70% EtOH 추출물의 폴리페놀의 함량을 측정하였으며, 항산화활성 분석을 위해 전자공여능, nitric oxide radical 저해활성, xanthine oxidase 저해활성, ABTS radical cation decolorization을 측정하였다. 폴리페놀의 총 함량은 열수추출물과 70% EtOH 추출물에서 각각 104 mg/L, 125 mg/L으로 정량되어 70% EtOH 추출물이 열수추출 물에 비해 높은 함량을 보였다. DPPH radical 소거능은 70% EtOH 추출물이 1,000 ppm에서 93.1%로 나타나 같은 농도의 BHA와 유사한 소거능을 보였다. nitric oxide radical 저해활성은 70% EtOH 추출물과 열수추출물이 1,000 ppm에서 49.6%, 49.5%로 나타나 같은 농도의 BHA보다 높은 nitrit oxide radical 저해활성을 보였다. Xanthine oxidase 저해활성은 1,000 ppm농도에서 열수 추출물과 70% EtOH 추출물에서 각각 46.6%, 60.4% 활성을 나타내었다. ABTS radical cation decolorization 활성은 1,000 ppm에서 열수추출물이 92.7%, 70% EtOH 추출물이 91.4%로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로 보아 음나무 잎의 70% EtOH 추출물과 열수추출물 모두 많은 폴리페놀이 함유되어 있으며, 70% EtOH 추출물과 열수추출물 모두 합성항산화제에 비해 항산화 활성이 다소 낮지만 천연 항 산화제로 우수한 항산화활성을 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. 이를 바탕으로 음나무 잎의 강한 항산화능을 피부노화 예방관련 미용식품 및 기능성 화장품 소재로 활용 가능한 유용한 수종으로 개발 될 수 있을 것이다. The aim of the study was to assess the cosmeceutical activity of Kalopanax septemlobus leaf and it is possible that can be used as a cosmetic ingredient for applicaiton of cosmetic industries. The concentration of total phenolic compound of hot water and 70% EtOH extracts of K. septemlobus leaf showed 104 mg/L and 125 mg/L respectively. In the result of DPPH(1,1- diphenyl-2-picryl -hydrazyl) scavenging radical activity, 70% EtOH extracts of K. septemlobus leaf showed 93.1% and it was similar to BHA(butylated hydroxyanisole) effect at 1,000ppm concentration. Xanthine oxidase inhibition of hot water extracts and 70% EtOH extracts of K. septemlobus leaf were 46.6% and 60.4% at 1,000ppm, respectively. In these results, K. septemlobus leaf has a great potential as a cosmeceutical ingredient with a natural anti-oxidant source.

        까치버섯(Polyozellus multiplex) 추출물의 생리활성과 이를 첨가한 양갱의 이화학적 및 관능적 품질 특성

        Total phenol content (TPC) of Polyozellus multiplex was the highest at 97.22±0.91 mg/g when extracted with 70% ethanol. ABTS radical cation decolorization of both water and 70% ethanol extract samples was greater than 95.00%. The TBARS inhibition activity of P. multiplex extracted with 70% ethanol was higher than that of water extract samples and anti-oxidation activity was identified as 80% or more at 50-200 μg/mL TPC concentration. The α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of P. multiplex showed above 85.0% in both water and 70% ethanol extracts at 150 μg/mL phenolics. Hyaluronidase inhibitory activity was 46.28% and 27.52% in the water and 70% ethanol extracts at 200 μg/mL TPC concentration, respectively. The white and red yanggaeng color values of L, a, and b were all changed with the added extracted powder. Rheological analysis of hardness, springiness, and chewiness, demonstrated decreases as the extracted powder content increased. However, as the added extracted powder increased, cohesiveness was not affected. As a result of the sensory test, it was determined that for white and red yanggaeng, the addition of 0.5% (white) and 1.0% or less (red) of the extracted powder is appropriate, respectively. Considering the intrinsic color of P. multiplex powder extracts, it is thought that it may be desirable to manufacture it based on red yanggaeng. Therefore, it was thought that can be expected biological activities of yanggaeng prepared with P. multiplex extracted powder.

        버섯복합물의 항산화 효과

        이 연구에서는 동충하초, 영지, 상황 버섯 복합물의 항산화 효과를 평가하였다. 3가지 버섯을 각각 70% 에탄올 추출하여 80:10:10의 비율로 혼합하여 평가를 실시하였다. DPPH radical을 이용한 전자공여능 측정에서는 버섯 복합물이 500 μg/ml의 농도에서 66%의 효과를 나타내었고, ABTS radical cation decolorization 측정은 50 μg/ml에서 73%, 500 μg/ml에서 대조군인 BHA와 유사한 효과를 나타내었다. Superoxide anion radical 소거능 측정은 버섯 복합물 10 μg/ml에서 41%로 대조군인 BHA에 비해 3배 이상의 높은 효과가 있었고, 50 μg/ml, 100 μg/ml에서도 BHA 보다 효과가 높았으나, 500 μg/ml에서는 낮은 효과를 나타내었다. Lipid oxidation 측정 결과 Cu<SUP>2+</SUP>군보다 Fe<SUP>2+</SUP>군이 지방 산패 억제능이 뛰어났다. SOD 유사활성능 측정은 500 μg/ml에서 13%의 낮은 효과를 나타내었다. 이 결과, 버섯 복합물의 항산화 효과가 아주 우수했으므로, 항산화 소재로서의 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. In this study, we evaluated the antioxidant effects of Cordyceps, Ganoderma lucidum (Curtis) P. Karst and Phellinus linteus complexes. Three mushrooms were extracted using 70% ethanol, respectively, in ratios of 80:10:10(?). The electron-donating ability was measured using the DPPH radical mushroom complexes and showed effects of 66% in 500 μg/ml. ABTS radical cation decolorization measured 73% in 50 μg/ml and had an effect similar to BHA in 500 μg/ml. In their superoxide anion radical scavenging ability, the mushroom complexes showed an effect of 41% in 10 μg/ml. The effect on the control of BHA was more than three times as high as BHA in 50 μg/ml and 100 μg/ml concentration. The results showed that lipid oxidation is an excellent inhibitor of lipid oxidation Cu<SUP>2+</SUP>, compared to the Fe<SUP>2+</SUP> group. The results of superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in the mushroom complexes showed a low effect of 13% in 500 μg/ml. Thus, the results of this study showed that the antioxidant effect of the mushroom complexes was excellent, indicating their potential as an antioxidant material.

        율피추출물의 사람 비만세포주 사이토카인 발현 억제 효과

        Objectives: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by eczematous inflammtion of the skin. The chestnut inner shell extracts (CI) has been used as a cosmetic material for a long time in Korea. However, the precise anti-allergy effects of CI have yet to be clearly elucidated. In this study, we attempted to evaluate the effect of CI on mast cell-mediated allergy inflammation. Methods: To find the anti-allergy and inflammatory effect of CI, we investigated the inhibitory effect of CI on the production of inflammatory mediators using by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) plus calcium ionophore (A23187) stimulated-human mast cell (HMC-1). Results : In this study, we found that CI did not show cytotoxic effect at up to 10 ug/ml on HMC-1. CI inhibited the production of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-a, interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-8 in stimulated HMC-1. Maximal rate of TNF-a, IL-6 and IL-8 inhibition by CI (10 ug/ml) were about 47.6%, 44.1% and 22.5% respectively. In addition, we showed that Fr.3 isolated from n-Butyl alcohol layer of CI attenuated the production of TNF-a, IL-6 and IL-8 in HMC-1. Conclusion: Taken together, the findings of this study provide us with a novel insight action of CI as a potential molecule for use in the treatment of allergic inflammation diseases.

        유산균 발효에 의한 밤송이추출물의 항산화 효과

        국내의 천연자원 및 부산물로부터 기능성을 갖는 다양한 물질을 탐색하여 자원의 효율적인 측면, 새로운 기능성을 함유한 화장품소재 개발 및 피부 노화 메커니즘을 연구함으로써 밤과수 과정에서 폐기되는 밤송이의 활용방안을 찾기 위한 연구의 기초 자료로서 그 화학성분을 분석하였으며, 또한 새로운 기능성 소재를 탐색하기 위한 일환으로 밤송이 발효 추출물을 이용하여 항산화 효과에 대한 연구를 하였다. DPPH 라디칼소거능, Hydrogen peroxide저해활성, Nitric oxide radical 소거능 측정결과 균주 5% 접종 후 6일간 배양액 추출에서 가장 높은 항산화활성을 나타내었다. 또한 ABTS 라디칼소거능, 환원력 측정, Superoxide anion radical 저해활성 실험을 통해서 대조군으로 사용된 BHA와 Ascrobic acid, EGCG에 비교하여 발효밤송이 추출물은 유사한 항산화 활성을 나타나는 결괄를 얻었다. 이와 같은 결과로 미루어 보아 발효 밤송이 추출물은 효능이 좋은 천연 항산화제로 기능성 화장품의 소재로 개발될 가능성이 매우 높다고 사료된다. The aim of this study was to show the antioxidant properties of chestnut (Castanea crenata) bur extracts fermented by Lactobacillus casei. The chestnut has been used as a cosmetic material in Korea for many years. This study showed that reactive oxygen species (ROS) were inhibited by the fermentation materials of chestnut bur extracts. The antioxidant activities were analyzed and expressed as EDA, ABTS, reducing power, SOD-like activity, hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity, superoxide anion radical scavenging activity, and nitric oxide scavenging ability. The antioxidant activities of fermentation materials from L. casei of chestnut bur extracts were higher than those of butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), and ascorbic acid (AA). Therefore, we expect that fermentation materials from L. casei of chestnut bur extracts are valuable resources as natural antioxidants and functional cosmetics ingredients.

        Design of a W-band Groove Polarizer

        A groove polarizer in a circular waveguide has the advantage of structural simplicity and moderately wide bandwidth, which is particularly useful at high millimeter-wave frequencies where manufacturing tolerances are critical. This paper presents design, fabrication and measurements of a W-band groove polarizer in a 2.2mm diameter circular waveguide. First, a design procedure of the polarizer is presented for optimum performance. Next, a W-band groove polarizer is designed for low axial ratio and good impedance matching. The designed polarizer has been fabricated using a numerically controlled machining center. Test of the fabricated polarizer has shown fair agreements between the design and the measurement.

        The aim of this study was to assess the cosmeceutical activies of four kinds of Korea herb medicine extracts using in cosmetics and related industries. The cosmeceutical activities of extracts were investigated by tyrosinase inhibition, astringent, anti-bacterial and MTT assay for cell viability. In the whitening effect, PA that the highest tyrosinase inhibition activity showed 56% at 10 ppm in ethanol extract. Also water and ethanol extract of RE showed 54%, 68% at 1,000 ppm, respectively, but LE and CA showed lower effect. Astringent effect of water and ethanol extract of PA appeared over 60% at 1,000ppm concentration but other extracts showed no astringent effect. In the anti-bacterial test, water and ethanol extract of PA showed no anti-bacterial effect against all microorganisms. But water and ethanol extract of RE showed anti-bacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus, ethanol extract of showed on Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acnes, ethanol extract of CA showed on Candida albicans. The resUlt of stability test showed that the emulsion of containing PA were very stable at various temperature and sun-light test. Viscosity and pH of emulsion did not change. From the results of human patch test to assess the safety of cosmetics containing PA there was no negative reaction on skin was found.
