β-naphthol 유도체 합성 및 항종양활성 검토

Sythesis of β-naphthol derivatives and their anti-tumor activity were investigated. Binaphthol 1 obtained from β-naphthol by oxidative C-C bond formation(phenoloxydation) was converted into its derivatives. Treatment of 1 with POCl_3 followed by aziridine introduction gave phosphoryl aziridine 3. Also, diaziridine 5 was obtained from 1 by chlorination and successive aziridine introdution. Typical chemical transformation of 1 to obtain ester-type afforded compound 7 and 8. Compound 5 was the most effective derivative of the tested compounds on their anti-tumor activity.

The purpose of this study was to determine gain the most desirable mixture ratio for the ingredients of Backhapbyung. Sensory examination and mechanical test were conducted on the texture, water contents and color degree of Backhapbyung with various ratios of liliibulbs powder and sugar added to nonglutinous rice flour. The results of sensory evaluation showed that Backhapbyung composed of put 8% (24g) liliibulbs powder, 40g sugar, 40ml water and 276g nonglutinous rice flour had the highest overall score in terns of acceptability, after-swallowing and taste of flavor, and overall quality preference. Overall among the recipes tested, that with 6% (24g) liliibulbs powder, 40g sugar, 40m1 water and 282g nonglutinous rice flour showed the highest marks in springiness, cohesiveness, gumminess and chewiness. The moisture content was 33.54% nonglutinous rice flour, and 11.8% liliibulbs powder. The overall quality of sensory examination for bitterness was positively correlated with the hardness of sensory examination and the mechanical examination for adhesiveness. The overall quality of sensory examination for chewiness was positively correlated with the moistness of sensory examination and the mechanical examination for cohesiveness. From the above results, the best mixture ratio of Backhapbyung, with a moisture content of 37.18%, is 8% (24g) of liliibulbs powder, -10g sugar, 40ml water, and 3g salt and 276g nonglutinous rice flour.

Two different wet etching solutions, NaOH 40% and Acid, were used for etching in tri-crystalline Silicon(Tri-Si) solar cell fabrication. The wafers etched in NaOH40% solution showed higher reflectance compared to the wafers etched in Acid solution after SiN_x deposition. In light current-voltage results, the cells etched in Acid solution exhibited higher short circuit current and open circuit voltage than those of the cells etched in NaOH 40% solution. We have obtained 16.70% conversion efficiency in large area(156cm²) Tri-Si solar cells etched in Acid solution.

Objectives : Impaired processing of facial information is one of the broad ranges of cognitive deficits seen in patients with Schi-zophrenia. We aimed to elucidate the differences in brain activities involved in the process of facial working memory between schizophrenic patients and healthy comparison subjects. Methods : Twelve patients with schizophrenia were recruited along with twelve demographically matched healthy volunteers as a comparison group. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) was used to assess cortical activities during the Perfor-mance of a 2-back working memory paradigm using images of neutral faces as mnemonic content. Rcsults : The patient group performed the tasks with reduced accuracy. Group analysis revealed that the left fusiform gyrus, the right superior frontal gyrus, the bilateral middle frontal gyri/insula, the left middle temporal gyrus, the precuneus, the quadrangular lobules and the vermis of cerebellum showed decreased cortical activities in the patient group. On the other hand, an increased level of activation in the lateral prefrontal cortex and the pahetal lobule was observed from the patient group, all in the right hemisphere. Conulusion : A decreased level of activity in the left fusiform gyrus among the patient group implicates inefficient processing of facial information. An increased level of activation in prefrontal and parietal neural networks from the patient group confirms earlier findings on the impaired working memory of patients with schizophrenia.

This study was designed to exam the aged's needs for spiritual nursing care. The purpose was to serve as a basis for the development of spiritual nursing practice. The major findings are as follows : 1. The degree of needs for spiritual nursing care as area was that needs of love and relationship mean 22.0, needs of meaning and object mean 28.2, needs of forgiving mean 13.5. Total needs for spiritual nursing care mean 63.7, which was on the upper middle level. The needs of meaning and object was rated highest. 2. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of love and relatiohship wasn't significanlty different. 3. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of meaning and object was significantly different according to two factors : age(F=7.260, p=0.001), religion(F=5.275, p=0.001). Higher needs of meaning and object was possessed by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other. 4. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, four factors made a significantly difference to needs of forgiving : sex(t=-2.851, p=0.006), age(F=8.201, p=0.001), religion(F=6.928, p=0.000), disease(t=2.327, p=0.024). Higher needs of forgiving was possessed by man than woman, by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other, by the one who have disease than the other.

Poster Session:PS 1108 ; Gastroenterology (Gastrointestinal Tract) : Distant Recurrence of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors to Left Brachialis Muscle

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) is the mesenchymal tumor of the gastrointestinal tract. It most found in the wall of stomach and has spread usually to the liver and peritoneum, but metastasis to the skeletal muscle are very rare. Here, we report a case of distant recurrence of GISTs to left brachialis muscle. An 80-year-old woman was diagnosed a gastric GISTs with omental invasion and underwent a wedge resection of stomach with omental mass in 2010. Then, she was received adjuvant imatinib 400mg once daily for 1year and confirmed the complete remission. After 3 years, she had pain and swelling of left upper arm and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrated a 14 cm mass-like lesion in brachialis muscle of left arm. A positron emission tomography (PET) scan showed an area of increased metabolic activity in left brachialis muscle. An incisional biopsy revealed spindle cells with positivity of CD117 and CD34 and expression of actin. She was diagnosed with solitary muscle recurrence of GISTs and was treated with imatinib 400mg daily again. But, she stopped taking imatinib because of nausea and vomiting. Therefore, she was metastasized to liver and adrenal gland after 6 months. She was discharged to other healthcare facility for conservative management. Only four cases of metastatic GISTs to skeletal muscle have been reported in the English literature. However, it were concurrent skeletal muscle metastasis of primary GISTs or liver metastasis. Distance recurrence is when the cancer cells have metastasized to a distant part of the body after treatment. None of the above distant recurrence has previously been reported in English literature reviews to our knowledge. These diagnosis should be kept in mind in patients presenting with suggestive signs and symptoms even if it is unusual metastatic site.

OGlcNAc Transferase (OGT) is a complementary enzyme that regulates O-linked N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) and plays a critical role in various cancer phenotypes including invasion, migration, and metabolic reprogramming. In this study, OGT is the predicted target of miR-7-5p. To identify miR-7-5p’s role in cell growth and metabolism, we treated various lung cancer cell lines with miR-7-5ps and performed qRT- PCR and western blot to demonstrate that OGT is the target of miR-7-5p. Furthermore, relative luciferase assay was done to show that miR-7-5p directly regulates OGT. To define the role of mir-7-5p in cancer cell metabolism, we performed LDH assay, glucose uptake, and mitochondrial ATP synthase inhibitor assay. Induced overexpression of miR-7-5p in lung cancer cells decreased aerobic glycolysis as is demonstrated by reduced LDH production, glucose uptake, and glycolysis. Increased O-GlcNAcylation contributed to the augmentation of lung cancer cell metabolism. In the present study, inhibition of OGT by miR7-5p decreased the growth and metabolism of lung cancer. These findings suggest that modulating OGT activity may present a potential therapeutic strategy for cancer.

목적: 사구체 신염 등의 환자에서 단회뇨를 이용한 단백/크레아티닌 농도비(P/C ratio)가 24시간 요단백량과 밀접한 상관관계가 있음은 수차례 보고된 바 있다. 서구의 신이식 환자에서도 이러한 상관관계가 관찰되었으나 동양인 신이식 환자에 대해서는 연구가 부족하다. 이에 저자들은 한국의 신이식 환자에서 24시간 요단백량과 단회뇨 P/C ratio를 비교하고, 두 값의 상관관계에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 2005년 1월부터 2010년 7월까지 본원 신장내과에 내원한 66명의 신이식 환자를 대상으로 소변 채집을 하였다. 24시간 요 수집 단백량과 수집을 시작하는 날 아침 채집한 단회뇨 P/C ratio를 비교하였다. 24시간 요단백량과 단회뇨 P/C ratio 사이의 상관관계에 영향을 끼칠 수 있는 인자로 성별, 면역억제제 종류, 기저질환, 이식 기간, 사구체 여과율, 일일 요단백량, 나이에 대해 분석하였다. 결과: 대상 환자의 평균 연령은 47±14.1세였으며, 평균혈청 크레아티닌은 1.53±0.58 mg/dL, 사구체 여과율은 55.75±22 mL/min/1.73 m2, 평균 이식 기간은 74±80개월이었다. 24시간 평균 요단백량은 1.31±1.69 g/day이었고, 단회뇨의 P/C ratio 1.29±1.70이었으며 높은 상관계수를 보였다(r=0.95). 성별이 단회뇨 PCR를 이용한 24시간 요단백 예측에 영향을 끼치는 요인으로 고려된다(p=0.003). 단회뇨 P/C ratio와 24시간 요단백량은 남성에선 각각 1.05±1.51, 1.26±1.68 g/day이었고(p=0.005), 여성에선 1.57±1.88, 1.36±1.72 g/day이었다(p=0.047). 결론: 본 연구에서 단회뇨 P/C ratio는 24시간 요단백량을 가늠할 수 있는 방법으로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 생각한다. Background/Aims: Many studies have reported the correlation between the spot urine protein to creatinine (P/C) ratio and 24-hoururinary protein amounts in patients with glomerulonephritis. This correlation has also been reported in Western patients with kidney transplants, but no prior study has reported on this association in Eastern populations. We compare the correlation between the spoturine P/C ratio and 24-hour urinary protein amounts and the associating factors in Korean patients with kidney transplants. Methods: The study included 66 patients with kidney transplants from our hospital. The subjects had urine samples evaluated between January 2005 and July 2010. We compared 24-hour urinary protein amounts with a spot urine P/C ratio collected in the morning and analyzed the factors affecting the correlation in each group. Results: The 24-hour urinary protein amounts were 1.31±1.69 g/day and the spot urine P/C ratio was 1.29±1.70 in all subjects. A strong positive linear correlation was observed between the 24-hour urinary protein amounts and the spot urine P/C ratio (r=0.95).The primary factor affecting accurate quantitation of proteinuria using the spot urine P/C ratio was gender (p=0.003). The spot urine P/C ratio and the 24-hour urinary protein levels were 1.05±1.51 and 1.26±1.68 g/day in males (p=0.005) and 1.57±1.88 and 1.36±1.72 g/day in females (p=0.047), respectively. Conclusions: We determined that the spot urine P/C ratio provides an accurate estimate of 24-hour urinary protein levels in Korean patients with kidney transplants. (Korean J Med 2011;81:82-88)

증례 : 감염 ; Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae에 의한 괴사근막염과 요근 농양

Hypervirulent K. pneumoniae (hvKP)는 아시아에서 침습성 감염을 일으키는 주요 원인균으로 주로 원발성 간농양과 전이성 감염을 일으킨다. 괴사근막염은 드물게 발생하는 hvKP의 감염증상으로, 빠르고 심한 질환의 경과를 보이므로 적절한 항생제와 빠른 수술적 치료가 환자의 예후에 중요하다. 저자들은 당뇨 환자에서 상처를 통해서 침입한 hypermucoviscous phenotype을 가진 hvKP에 의해 발생한 괴사근막염과 요근 농양을 국내에서 처음으로 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. A 62-year-old diabetic female was admitted to the hospital with fever and pain in both legs. Computed tomography scans of the abdomen revealed necrotizing fasciitis of the right thigh extending into the abdominal wall, and abscesses on the right psoas muscle. Magnetic resonance imaging showed increased T2 signal intensity along the peroneus muscle and fascia of the lower left leg. The patient received antibiotics and underwent debridement of the infected and necrotic tissue. Intra-abdominal abscesses were drained. Blood and pus cultures showed growth of Klebsiella pneumoniae, as had been suspected due to string test results showing hypermucoviscosity. Free-skin grafts were performed to repair tissue loss and the patient was subsequently discharged 82 days after admission. This represents the first reported case of necrotizing fasciitis and psoas muscle abscess caused by a hypervirulent strain of K. pneumoniae in Korea. (Korean J Med 2013;85:540-544)
