On the Syntactic Status of Cognate Objects

        Yu Long 한국중원언어학회 2020 언어학연구 Vol.0 No.54

The syntactic status of cognate objects (COs) has attracted a lot of attention among researchers in the literature. As a first approximation, Jones (1988) and Moltmann (1989) advocate the adjunct analysis of COs, in which COs are regarded as an adjunct. On the contrary, Massam (1990) and Macfarland (1995) support the argument analysis of COs, in which COs are considered as an argument. At last, Kim & Lim (2012) favor the mixture of COs" properties. That is to say, COs exhibit both adjunct and argument properties in their analysis. In fact, both the adjunct and argument analysis are judged to be flawed because they restrict COs" properties to only one category. In addition, although the last analysis captures both the adjunct and argument characteristics of COs, it is still defective in that it fails to consider the vital role of COs" modification. Accordingly, I put forward my own proposal with the aim of capturing the exact status of COs. Specifically, I delve into COs" status on the basis of my distinction between the Cos with unaccusatives and those with unergatives.

Effect of branched alumina on thermal conductivity of epoxy resin

        Yu Long,Lirui Shi,Qingyu Wang,Haitao Qu,Chuncheng Hao,Qingquan Lei 한국공업화학회 2023 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.120 No.-

Composites prepared by using epoxy resin (EP) as matrix had limited practical applications owing to theirpoor thermal conductivity. The thermal conductivity of composites can be enhanced by doping inorganicfillers. However, it could not be significantly enhanced owing to the saturation of inorganic fillers. In thisstudy, we prepared branched alumina (b-Al2O3) by using high-temperature sintering and doped it as afiller to obtain b-Al2O3/EP composites. The results shown that the thermal conductivity of the EP compositeswith 70 wt% b-Al2O3 was 1.13 Wm1K1, which was seven times higher than that of pure EP. Thiscould be attributed to the overlapping of b-Al2O3 for the formation of a continuous mesh structure thatresults in thermal conduction channels inside the EP, which reduced the interfacial thermal resistanceand improved the thermal conductivity of the composite. The resistivity of b-Al2O3/EP was 9.64 1014Xm and that of pure EP was 2.08 1014 Xm. The dielectric constant of the b-Al2O3/EP compositesincreased with the increase in b-Al2O3 content, while the dielectric loss factor decreases. This was significantfor the application of EP composites in the field of electrical insulation.

Catabolite Control Protein A of Streptococcus suis Type 2 Contributes to Sugar Metabolism and Virulence

        Yulong Tang,Wei Wu,Xiaoyan Zhang,Zhongyan Lu,Jianshun Chen,Weihuan Fang 한국미생물학회 2012 The journal of microbiology Vol.50 No.6

Catabolite control protein A (CcpA) is the major transcriptional regulator in carbon catabolite repression in several Gram-positive bacteria. We attempted to characterize the role of a CcpA homologue of Streptococcus suis type 2 in sugar metabolism and virulence. Addition of glucose or sucrose to the defined medium significantly reduced the activity of raffinose-inducible α-galactosidase, cellobiose-inducible β-glucosidase, and maltose-inducible α-glucosidase of the wildtype strain by about 9, 4, and 2-3 fold, respectively. Deletion of ccpA substantially derepressed the effects of repressing sugars on α-galactosidase or β-glucosidase activity. The ccpA deletion mutant showed reduced expression of virulence genes sly and eno (P<0.05), decreased adhesion to and invasion into endothelial cells (P<0.05), and attenuated virulence to mice with significant reduction of death rate and bacterial burden in organs, as compared to the wild-type strain. Both the in vitro and in vivo defect phenotypes were reversible by ccpA complementation. Thus, this study shows that CcpA of S. suis type 2 plays an important role in carbon catabolite repression and virulence.

Multi-objective Seamless Self-scheduling Controller Design for Heavy Commercial Vehicle Lateral Automation: An LPV/H∞ Approach

        Yulong Liu,Tao Xu,Yahui Liu,Xuewu Ji 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.12

Modern intelligent road transportation system raises new requirements for advanced vehicle control technology of automated heavy commercial vehicle (HCV). This paper develops a novel output feedback-based linear parameter varying (LPV)/H∞ control paradigm for automated HCV to achieve multi-objective dynamic coordinated control. The proposed control paradigm aims at keeping vehicle centered with respect to the lane boundaries while achieving better roll stability by applying appropriate steering action. The main idea is to schedule tracking performance and roll stability by adjusting steering action according to HCV rollover risk evaluated by the rollover index (RI) estimator during automatic path tracking. This novel control paradigm allows a seamless multi-objective self-scheduling control to be reached and ensures robustness and stability of the closed-loop control system. Based on Simulink & TruckSim Co-Simulation as well as hardware in loop (HIL) implementation, a comparison study between the proposed LPV/H∞ control strategy and a classical linear time-invariant (LTI)/H∞ controller is conducted, which confirms the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

A Combination of Korean Red Ginseng Extract and Glycyrrhiza glabra L. Extract Enhances Their Individual Anti-Obesity Properties in 3T3-L1 Adipocytes and C57BL/6J Obese Mice

Yulong Zheng,이재선,이은혜,인교,김종한,이미향,이옥환,강일준 한국식품영양과학회 2020 Journal of medicinal food Vol.23 No.3

Anti-obesity activities of Korean red ginseng saponin fraction (RGS) and/or Glycyrrhiza glabra L. extract (GG) were investigated in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and high-fat diet-induced C57BL/6J obese mice. RGS and GG extracts were mixed at a mass ratio of 3:1 (SG31), 1:1 (SG11), or 1:3 (SG13). SG31 showed the highest anti-obesity activity among the three different mass ratios of RGS and GG extracts. SG31 showed higher inhibition efficiency on triglyceride (TG) accumulation than either single extract in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and without any cytotoxicity. It also decreases the expression of adipogenic and lipogenic genes such as C/EBPα and SREBP-1c (sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1c). In the obese induced mouse model, SG31 significantly reduced white adipose tissue weight and body weight, attenuated dyslipidemia, and decreased serum TG levels. In some indices, the activity of SG31 was even higher compared with Garcinia Cambogia water extract, a positive control. The possible mechanism by which SG31 causes the above results was by activating the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway and stimulating the secretion of adiponectin in adipose tissue to regulate energy metabolism balance, inhibit TG formation, and promote β-oxidation of fatty acids. Therefore, SG31 may have efficacy as an anti-obesity functional food or raw material if the results can be confirmed in human studies.

Decreased Insulin Resistance by Myo-Inositol Is Associated with Suppressed Interleukin 6/Phospho-STAT3 Signaling in a Rat Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Model

        Yulong Zhang,Changzhong Li,Wenhui Zhang,Xiangqin Zheng,Xiujuan Chen 한국식품영양과학회 2020 Journal of medicinal food Vol.23 No.4

Myo-inositol supplementation may reduce insulin resistance (IR) with few serious side effects in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). To explore the mechanism of this action in an animal model, a PCOS-IR rat model was generated. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to assess changes in ovulation function during treatment with a myo-inositol supplement, and Western blotting, real-time polymerase chain reaction, and immunohistochemistry were performed to investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms. The results showed that the myo-inositol supplement decreased the homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) index and significantly decreased the serum levels of luteinizing hormone (LH), LH/follicle-stimulating hormone ratio, and testosterone, while increasing the serum level of estradiol. Upregulation of interleukin 6 (IL-6), phospho-STAT3 (p-STAT3), Mir-21, and Mir-155 and significant downregulation of PPAR-γ and GLUT4 were detected in the untreated PCOS-IR rat model. However, downregulation of IL-6, p-STAT3, miR-21, and miR-155 and significant upregulation of PPAR-γ and GLUT4 were detected with myo-inositol supplementation. Thus, myo-inositol supplementation may reduce Mir-21 and Mir-155 levels by downregulating IL-6 and p-STAT3 and, subsequently, reverse the expression of PPAR-γ and GLUT4, leading to a decreased HOMA-IR index. In conclusion, the identification of an IL-6/p-STAT3/Mir-155/Mir-21/PPAR-γ/GLUT4 system in the PCOS-IR rat model provides insight into the pathogenesis of PCOS and may indicate a possible therapeutic strategy. Amelioration of the basal serum glucose levels and of the HOMA/HOMA-IR index may be achieved by the reversal of the expression of PPAR-γ and GLUT4 through the downregulation of IL-6, p-STAT3, miR-21, and miR-155 with myo-inositol supplementation.

Reliability-based Event Driven Backstepping Positioning Control for a Turret-moored FPSO Vessel with Unknown Slow Time-varying Disturbances

        Yulong Tuo,ShashaWang,Chen Guo,Haomiao Yu,Zhipeng Shen 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.2

In this paper, an event driven backstepping positioning controller based on the structural reliability is developed for a turret-moored floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel with unknown slow timevarying disturbances. The mathematical model of the FPSO vessel is given at first. Secondly, to make full use of the positioning capability of mooring system while ensuring the safety of mooring lines, a continuous backstepping positioning controller is designed based on the structural reliability of the mooring system; in the meanwhile, a disturbance observer is designed to handle the unknown disturbances. Then, the proposed event driven positioning controller is achieved based on the designed continuous controller by designing suitable event driven conditions, which can determine the updated time instants of the event driven positioning controller. The proposed positioning controller can not only guarantee the uniform ultimate boundness of the errors for structural reliability and heading but also ensure that no Zeno behavior occurs. Finally, the simulations demonstrate that the proposed event driven positioning controller’s performance while reducing the execution times of FPSO vessel’s actuators.

Fabrication of MOF-808(Zr) with abundant defects by cleaving ZrAO bond for oxidative desulfurization of fuel oil

Yulong Gu,Hongsi Luo,Wei Xu,Wei Zhou,Yinyong Sun 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.105 No.-

Creation of defects in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) has been demonstrated to be of significance formany potential applications. MOF-808(Zr), as an important member of MOFs, has attracted extensiveattention due to its advantages such as high stability, large surface area and pore size. Therefore, thedevelopment of defective MOF-808(Zr) is of great interest. In this contribution, we report that MOF-808(Zr) with abundant defects can be fabricated by the fracture of partial ZrAO bonds in its structureby the treatment of NH4HCO3 solution. During the treatment, the effect of NH4HCO3 concentration andtreatment time on the structural properties of MOF-808(Zr) was investigated. The catalytic performanceof obtained materials was evaluated by the oxidative desulfurization reaction of dibenzothiophene. Theresults revealed that MOF-808(Zr) obtained under the conditions of 0.08 M NH4HCO3 and treatment timeof 10 min exhibited superior catalytic activity (124.8 mmol/h/g) at 60 C due to the formation of richdefect sites in MOF-808(Zr).
