      • Azithromycin으로 치료한 임신 중 쓰쓰가무시병 1예

        We report a case of tsutsugamushi disease in a 26 year-old pregnant woman who was treated with azithromycin. Her gestation period was 27 weeks and she admitted with fever, rash, and eschar on the right shoulder. Currently recommended medications for the treatment of scrub typhus are doxycycline or chloramphenicol. But, these drugs are class D drugs according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Fetal Risk Summary, so they couldn't be used to treat pregnant women. Recently, a few case reports suggested that azithromycin, a relatively new macrolide antibiotic, was effective and safe for the treatment of scrub typhus in pregnant women. And, there is no evidence that azithromycin causes harmful effects to the developing fetus or to children. On the basis of current in vivo test that confirms the effectiveness of azithromycin, it may be the drug of choice for the treatment of scrub typhus in pregnant women and children.         방선균 분리주가 생산하는 Phospholipase C 저해물질인 MT2617-2B의 분리 및 특성

        방선균 분리주 MT2617-2의 배양액으로 부터 phospholipase C (PLC) 저해물질인 MT2617-2B를 n-butanol 추출 및 column chromatography 법을 이용하여 분리하였다. MT2617-2B는 IR ^13C- 및 ^1H-NMR 그리고 ESI-MS에 의한 구조분석 결과, 한 개의 hemiketal ring, polyhydroxyl 및polymethyl groups으로 구성되었으며 side chain으로 한 개씩의 malonate 및 guanidine group을 가지는 분자량 1057의 macrolide 화합물이었다. 따라서, MT2617-2B를 기존의 macrolide 항생제인 copiamycin 및 niphithricin A로 동정하였다. 한편, MT2617-2B는 methanol 용액에서 실온에서 방치하였을 때 도일한 분자량을 가진 두 개의 이성질체를 생성하였다. PLC γ1과 -β1에 대해 각각 25 및 50㎍/㎖의 IC_50 값을 가지며, Staphylococcus aureus 와 Candida albicans에 대해서는 항균활성을 나타내지만 Escherichia coli에는 나타내지 않았다. A phospholipase C (PLC) inhibitor (MT2617-2B) was isolated from the culture broth of actionmycetes isolate MT2617-2 by the extraction with n-butanol and column chromatographic techniques. The molecular weight of the inhibitor was 1057, by the spectroscopic analyses of IR ^13C- and ^1H-NMR and ESI-MS. The chemical structure of MT2617-2B was found to be a macrolide compound consisted of a hemiketal ring, polyhydroxyl and polymethyl groups, which had a malonate and guanidine group as its side chain. MT2617-2B produced its two isomers having the same molecular weight by standing in methanol solution at room temperature. Therefore, MT2617-2B was identified as copiamycin and niphithricin A, macrolide antibiotics. The values of IC_50 against PLC γ1 and PLC-β1 were 25 and 50㎍/㎖, respectively. MT2617-2B had antimicrobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans, but not against Escherichia coli.

      • Β-thiocyanatobenzylidene malonic acid ester 유도체의 합성에 관한 연구

        The derivatives of β-thiocyanatobenzylidene malonic acid ester were synthesized by the nucleophillic vinyllic substitution of thiocyanate, were obtained in 30-65% yield. The reactivity and yield were related to the structures of benzylidene malonic acid ester derivatives and the effect of the substituent of the para-substituted benzaldehydes were decresed the order of -NO2> -H, -CI> -OMe and also the reactivity of the malonic acid derivatives were reduced in order of diesters>cyanoacetyl ester>dinitrile. The separation and purification of β-thiocyanatobenzylidene malonic acid esters were carried out by column chromatography and recrystallization. The structure of synthetic compounds were identified by the NMR and IR spectroscopy.

      • 쪽파의 callus 배양에 의한 변이체 유기

        A. wakegi Araki의 배발생 캘러스 유도에는 2,4-D의 단독 첨가가 보다 효과적이었으나 2,4-D의 농도가 높을수록 기형배의 배발생율이 높았다. BA를 혼합첨가하였을 때는 기형배가 보다 많이 발생하였다. 외식편의 부위별로는 경정, 인편, 엽조직 중, 경정이 배형성을 위한 외식편으로 가장 좋았으며 그 다음 인편, 엽조직 순으로 정상적인 배도 가장 많이 발생하였다. Sucrose 7%에서 배발생 callus 유도가 가장 좋았지만 기형 배의 발생율도 가장 높았다. 재분화 식물체의 염색체 변이는 인편유래 callus에서보다 경정유래 callus에서 높았다. Explant source, growth regulators and sugar contents in the culture media suitable for in vitro plant regenerations through somatic embryogenesis in Allium wakegi Araki were examined. Adition of 2,4-D alone was more effective on embryogenic callus induction than its addition in combination with BA. The embryogenic calluses induced on the media containing 2,4-D at high concentration or 2,4-D in combination with BA produced abnormal embryos at high frequency. Stem apex was the best explant source for normal embryo production, followed in order by scale and in vitro leaf segments. sucrose at 7% resulted in the best embryogenic callus induction though the callus produced abnormal embryos at highest frequency. The highest level of chromosomal variation was shown in the regenerants from the shoot apex-derived embryogenic callus.

      • 수용성 미셀용액 내에서의 몇가지 안트라센 유도체의 광증감 작용에 미치는 pH 영향

        To examine the photosensitizing properties of 9-methylanthracene and 9-phenyl-anthracene, the concentration change of DPBF was determined during the irradiation with the light of 366nm in 95% MeOH, SDS and CTAB aqueous micellar solution at various pH. The concentration decreasing of DPBF by photosensitization was fast at low pH and especially was found to be very sensitive to the changes of pH in the range 4∼6. At high pH, the produced singlet oxygen seemed to be decayed by the reaction of OH. And it was found that the concentration of DPBF was decreased more fast in 95% MeOH solution than in aqueous micellar solution. Such results are believed that environment of the aqueous micellar solutions is more polar than that of 95% MeOH. It was also found that the 9-PA was more effective photosensitized than 9-MA, and the abilities of 9-PA and 9-MA to photosensitize oxidation reaction were found to be greater in SDS aqueous micellar solution than in CTAB aqueous media.

      • 산모 및 신생아 제대혈내의 B형간염 항원 및 항체분포에 관한 연구

        The prevalence of hepatititis B surface antigen in Asia and West Pacific areas shows a high range from 0.1% to 15%, also in Korea around 10% in order to determine the prevalence of HBs Ag, Anti-HBs, Anti-HBc, HBeAg and Anti-HBe especially in the vertical transmission, above antigens and antibodies were detected by Radioimmunoassay in asymptomatic 361 pregnant women and their 361 newborn infants who were at Korea University Hospital during the period of 14 months from Jan. 1983 to Feb. 1984. The following results were obtained: 1. The majority was in birth weight of 3,001-3,5000㎎ and both sexes showed almost same ratio (51.2%:48.8%). 2. HBsAg was positive in 5.3% of pregnant women and 4.4% of newborn infants. 3. 16 newborn infants with HBsAg positive were born all to the HBsAg positive mothers. It shows very high percent (84.2%) of the vertical transmission. 4. There was no positive case of Anti-HBc, HBeAg and Anti-HBe in newborn infants, but only I case had Anti-HBs in infant which has been belived to be vertically transmitted in the end of the 2nd trimester. 5. 11 HBsAg positive infants were born to the both HBsAg and HBeAg positive mothers. The rest, 5 HBsAg positive infants, were born to HBsAg and Anti-HBeAg positive mothers which were thought of high percent of the vertical transmission (62.5%) in compared with other reports.

      • Mossbauer 분광법을 이용한 제주 화산암의 미시적 연구와 그 응용

        제주도 전 지역의 특정위치를 선정하여 그 위치에 따라 지하 60m, 61m, 87m, 99.5m, 220m까지 깊이별로 화산암 시료를 채취하여, 이 시료에 대한 SIMS, XPS와 Mossbauer spectroscopy의 실험결과를 보고한다. UHV chamber에서 분리 이온화에 의해 생겨 난 parent 이온들로부터 cracking pattern들에 대해 연구하였고, 그 parent 이온들은 Si??, Al??, Ca??, Mg??, Fe??, Fe??, Na?, k?등으로 나타났다. 이 시료들에 대한 XPS 실험에서 wide scan analysis를 통하여 시료 표면에서 Al, Si, Ca, O, Fe, Na 등의 원소가 존재하고 있음을 알 수 있었으며, narrow scan analysis를 통하여 이들 대부분이 single compound state를 나타내고 있음을 발견할 수 있었다. 화산암에 대한 Mossbauer spectrum으로부터 olivine, pyroxene, ilmenite에 의한 세쌍의 quadrupole splitting을 얻었으며, 각 광물에 함유된 Fe는 약간의 Fe??를 제외하고는 거의 모두 Fe??상태임을 확인하였다. We are reporting the results of measurements of the SIMS, XPS, and ??Fe Mossbauer spectrum for powder samples of volcanic rock which has been distributed throughout different areas on Cheju island, each in different depth beginning at 60m then 61m than 61m, 87m, 99.5m, and 220m. We have studied the cracking patterns from parent ions which are created by dissociative ionization in the UHV chamber. The parent ions were Si??, Al??, Ca??, Mg??, Fe??, Fe??, Na??, and k??. In the XPS results for these samples, we find the existence of elements Al, Si, Ca, O, Fe, Na on their surfaces through the wide scan analysis. Also, the single compound state has appeared in a greater percentage of the them through the narrow scan analysis. The Mossbauer spectrum consists of well defined quadrupole doublets having a dominant 2+ charge state with a small percent having a 3+ charge state. These indicate the presense of olivine, pyroxene, and ilmenite.
