저선량 방사선 조사 시 종자수분함량이 채소류의 발아와 초기생장에 미치는 영향
백명화,김재성,이영근,이영복,양승균 한국환경농학회 2003 한국환경농학회지 Vol.22 No.3
To investigate the effects of low dose gamma radiation and seed moisture content (SMC) on germination and early growth of vegetable crops, seeds of Chinese cabbage (Brassica camperstris L.), radish (Raphanus sativus L.), red pepper (Capcicum annuum L.), figleaf gourd (Cucurbita ficifolia Bouche) and bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria Stand), with different SMC were irradiated with different doses (0-20 ㏉) of gamma-ray by irradiator ^(60)Co, ca.150 TBq of capacity, AECL). Vegetable crops in which low dose gamma radiation was irradiated in seeds with different moisture content showed different response in seed germination and early growth to low dose gamma radiation. The germination rate of Chinese cabbage, figleaf ground and bottle gourd irradiated with 2-8 ㏉ showed interactive responses against relative SMC. Also, significant interactions occurred for the early growth between those factors. The stimulating effects of gamma radiation were more pronounced for hydrated seeds of Chinese cabbage, radish, figleaf gourd and bottle gourd showing prominent responses with 2-10 Gy irradiation, particularly for Chinese cabbage and bottle gourd. These results suggest that radiation may promote germination and early growth of vegetable crops through interaction with SMC.

As a nursing practice involves nurses' actions in a specific context of health care, this study has focused on exploring the espoused theories in nursing practice within the action science perspectives, Espoused theories are the belief, principles, and rationale expressed by the practitioner as guiding her/his actions in a situation of practice. The data were analysed qualitatively and 25 elements of espoused theories of nursing action were identified and clustered into 6 categories. The 25 elements of espoused theories are as follows: The clinical nurse worked in wholistic and individual nursing, focussed on the patient's needed, comfort and supportive nursing (5 theories of nursing goal) ; excellent skills, knowledge based, assessment and data collection, explaining, educating or a scientific basis(6 theories of nursing intervention): advocacy, value oriented, treatment, account- ability and commitment(4 theories of nursing ethics) ; human respect. partnership, trust(3 theories of patient-nurse relationship) : knowledgable, accumulated clinical experiences and personally lived experiences. positive perspectives(4 theories of nurse), role of intervention. rewarding peer relationship(3 theories of situations) The above mentioned espoused theories are similar to that of nursing textbooks which students learned through basic nursing education and almost the same as the Acts ofa Nurse in Korean. However, we are doubtful whether nurses actually do as they think. Therefore. it is recommended to review the theories-in-use in order to and any discrepancies between the espoused theories and the reality of nursing actions

The purpose of this study was to identify the experience of medical disputes arising from tasks and clinical practices of dental hygienists. The conclusions of this study are as follows: Of all respondents, 59.4% experienced patients' complaints and dissatisfaction and medical disputes, 24.0% experienced the progression of complaints to legal affairs. Moreover, 95.3% had a feeling of anxiety or doubt about the risk of potential medical disputes. In the resolution process of medical disputes, 84.9% answered that the duty to obtain a patient's informed consent is crucial prior to treatment, and 32.5% answered that errors in medical records can be completely erased and rewritten entirely, showing the highest rate of wrong answers. No significant difference was found in the incidence of medical disputes according to work places. On the other hand, significant difference was found in the progression of complaints to legal proceedings according to work place and work experience. The degree of burden on medical dispute was more significant in respondents with an experience of dispute.

Aphids are one of the major pests in agricultural crops. A number of synthetic pesticides have been used for control of aphids in agriculture, but increasing public concerns over their adverse effects on the environment have required more environmentally-friendly methods for pest management. In this study, we examined plant oil formulations for the control of green peach aphid (Myzus persicae). Oil formulations were prepared by hydrolyzing the plant oils in ethanolic KOH solution and diluted at the rate of 1:500 for aphid control. The oil formulations showed aphid mortalities ranging from 24.44 to 43.33% in vitro. Significantly increased aphid mortalities were observed by the treatment of oil formulations combined with low-dosed imidacloprid. No significant difference in the aphid mortality was observed between the oil formulations. Mass spectrometry analyses of aphids treated with the low dosedimidacloprid plus the plant oil formulations detected similar concentrations of imidacloprid between the treatments. In field trial bioassays against aphids, significantly decreased aphid population were observed in the pepper plants treated with soybean oil formulation combined with the low-dosed imidacloprid, while aphid population dramatically increased in the pepper plants treated with the low-dosed imidacloprid alone. These results suggested that the plant oil formulations can be used as an environmentally-friendly method for enhancing the insecticidal effectiveness, which may play a role in reducing the use of synthetic pesticide in agriculture.

Introduction: There are various tumorous lesions in pancreas, but it is diffi cult to differenciate these lesions because of the anatomical and clinical characteristics. Through endoscopic-ultrasound(EUS)-guided biopsy, the effort for increasing diagnostic rate is still ongoing. However, Sometimes it is diffi cult to get enough tissue through EUS and to get accurate diagnostic imaging of tumorous lesion. In that case, the defi nitive diagnosis is only obtained after surgical intervention. Authors report one case, which was diagnosed as the pancreatic cancer before the operation and had a pancreaticoduodenectomy, but the lesion was proved to be tumor forming chronic pancreatitis on histological examination of a frozen-section. Case: A 65-years-old male patient presented with indigestion for about 1week and he was found to have a tumorous lesion in pancreas by abdominal-ultrasonography at local. He was a chronic drinker who consumed 100g of alcohol everyday. On initial laboratory evaluation, PT-1. 02, AST/ALT-22/12U/L, ALP-342IU/L, T-bilirubin-0. 2mg/ dL, Amylase-74U/L, lipase-160U/L, CA19-9-9. 13U/mL, CEA-6. 1ng/mL. In Contrast-enhanced abdominal-CT, 6. 4x5. 0x4. 0cm mass was found in the pancreas head, which was low density and little more enhanced than normal pancreas and the boundary was relatively clear. EUS-guided Procore 25G-needle biopsy and Cytology was done, but only normal pancreas tissues were found. However there was FDG uptake (SUVmax- 3. 79) in the head of pancreas on PET-CT. So we diagnosed this case as pancreas- cancer in T3N1 and he underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy. After the operation, fi nal histological diagnosis was mass forming chronic pancreatitis. Conclusion: Chronic pancreatitis can present with a fi brotic mass. If there is a risk factor like chronic alcohol intake in medical history taking and CA 19-9 is normal, it could be the chronic pancreatitis which has a possibility of forming mass rather than pancreatic cancer. In conclusion, it needs more effort of imaging examination and tissue confi rmation for accurate diagnosis.
