        The results for a dose calibrator to measure the quantity of radionuclide are as follows; 1. Preciseness ; the value satisfied a permitted limit(±5%). 2. Accuracy ; the value was in the range of the permitted limit that is demanded from the manufacture. It might be because of the radiation that used corrected source of low dose. 3. Reliability ; Though the values for 2 months were in the range of ±5%, 2 days' values were beyond the range of -5%.

      • 농장 사육되는 타조에서 나타난 다리 기형의 증례 보고

        Two farmed young ostrich chicks were applied to pathology laboratory at Chungnam National University. Grossly, one ostrich showed rotated tibiotarsus, the other showed rolled toes. Case 1 ostrich was hypertrophy of fibualis longus and tibial cranialis tendon and gastrocnemius tendon in crus, inflammation of flexor digitorum longus. In histopathological views, myocytes of fiburalis longus were showed hypertrophy and hyperplasia. It is not found any specific feature in X-ray of the case 2 ostrich. Limb deformities were detected frequently in farmed ostrich chicks in 2- to 3 weeks old. Limb deformities were an important cause of mortality in farmed ostrich chicks during the first 10weeks after hatch. Cause of limb deformities were considered a nutrition problem.

        Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 1α가 T세포성장 및 CD4, CD8 발현에 미치는 영향

        Macrophage inflammatory protein (MIP)-1αcytokine which produces wide range of bioctivities such as proinflammatory, immunomodulatory, and hematopoietic modulatory actions. To determine whether MIP-1αacts as a negative regulator on the functions of lymphocyte, [³H]-thymidine incorporation test and flow cytometric analysis were performed by using human tonsil T cell, human peripheral blood T cell, and murine cytolytic T lymphocyte (CTL) line CTLL-2, The mresults were as follow. 1. When human tonsil T lymphocytes were stimulated with anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody (mAb), rate of T cell proliferation was about four times increased. 200ng/ml of MIP-1α inhibited anti-CD3 mAb-mediated T cell growth as much as 60% (P<0.05)> 2. The suppression of human peripheral T cell proliferation produced by MIP-1αwas dramatic, but variable among T cells derived from different individuals (40%∼90%). 3. MIP-1αinhibited the mproliferation of murine CTL line CTLL-2 as much as 75%(P<0.001). 4. WHen the MIP-1αwas added to human peripheral T cell, cell proporation of CD4+ helper T cell and CD8+ CTL were not noticeably affected. The expression level of CD4, not of Cd8, however, was down regulated by MIP-1αtreatment (27%∼82%).

      • 국내 콘크리트 기준의 발전 방향에 대한 고찰

        유럽 각국의 규준을 통합한 유로 Code의 등장과 북미지역을 중심으로 한 기술통합의 흐름과 같은 Global Network화의 추세에 적극적으로 대처하고자 Asia Concrete Model Code(ACMC)의 제정이 제안되었다. 현재까지 ACMC 위원회는 LevelⅠ과 Level Ⅱ의 draft를 완성하였으며, Level Ⅲ에서는 국가/지역조건을 고려한 실제적인 지침을 준비하고 있는 단계이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 각 시방들을 비교·분석하고 현재 제안된 ACMC Level Ⅲ Document 및 Perforomance Based Design과 관련된 문헌들을 고찰함으로써 국내현황에 적합한 ACMC Level Ⅲ Document의 작성방안을 제안하고자한다. Asian Concrete Model Code (ACMC) was proposed to cope with appearance of Euro-Code and a trend of Global Network such as a flow of the technique unification of North America. ACMC Committee has completed two drafts of LevelⅠ and LevelⅡ. Also, prectial specification considering national/regional condition is being prepared in draft of Level Ⅲ Document. On the study, each specification was analyzed and compared and a number of references were studied in order to propose ACMC Level Ⅲ Document considering domestic conditions.

      • 맥반석의 용출시험 및 중금속 흡착특성

        This experiment was done to investigate the leaching and adsorption properties of heavy metals on porphyry. The comparison with respect to the leachability of heavy metals from porphyry between the Korea Standard Leaching Test (KSLT) and the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) was carried out. The fractional composition of leachate and the total concentration of heavy metal of porphyry were studied through Sequential Extraction Procedure (SEP) and EPA Method 3050. Adsorption experiment of porphyry has pointed out that the optimum dosage of porphyry for 50ppm Pb was over 10g/L, the effective particle size for absorption was below 200 mesh and the optimum pH was about 7. From the Freundlich' adsorption equation, l/n was 1.0722, and k was 0.0041. After adsorption, the fractional composition of Pb was changed. The exchangeable, carbonate, reducible fractions were increased, and the organic fraction was not changed, and the residual fraction was decreased.

        With a coming new age, physical education, recreation and leisure activities have become more popular to everyone in everyday life. The rapid changes in present society have made people change a lot of things they used to do. Professionals in this field have to prepare to investigate the various factors presently changing and should establish plans toward this field. Of particular interest are the increasing ages health and social welfare, a cyber technology used for elite sports and the public, industrial management in the sports, leisure activities and the concerns of relationship between leisure, sports activities and the environments. In order to predict and take measures for these issues in the coming near future, this study aims to report some factors which may be brought up and understood. First, it is necessary to provide old people with better quality services for health, leisure time, programs for physical activity guided by professionals for a better quality of life. Secondly, in the cyber technology, it must be used more effectively to achieve the best record for elite sports and it's use must be generalized in the public sector for leisure and physical education. Third, management of leisure industry and sport activities have become more significant issues at present. It also needs more professionals to organize and promote an interest of both public and business sectors. Finally, the environmental leisure activity issues in this field are both physical and social. Good care must be taken in building sport facilities in order to protect natural enviornment and have convenient public access. Above all, it is important to train the professional who control and plan programs, such in the coming age.

      • 개에서 관찰된 모기질세포종의 증례보고

        Pilomatricoma was histopathologically diagnosed in a 2.5-year-old male Alaskan malamute. The patient was referred to Chungnam National University, Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital with solitary, firm and well-circumscribed mass at shoulder. Grossly, the mass was dome shaped to tumor like and 10 x 8 x 5㎝ in size. Some lesions had gritty or bony consistency and was chalky when sectioned Histopathologic feature included mumerous clusters of tightly arranged, basaloid cells with evenly distributed chromatin and ghost cells were characterized by a central unstained zone. The ghost cells often become calcified and osseous metaplasia was also present.

        CANDU 사용후핵연료 수송용기 방사선차폐 영향평가

        중수로형 원자로에서 방출되는 사용후핵연료 다발을 안전하게 운반할 목적으로 CANDU 수송용기에 대한 방사선차폐해석을 수행하였다. 핵연료의 연소도는 7,800MWD/MTU, 냉각기간은 5년으로 하여 ORIGEN2 코드로 방사선원을 구하고 이것으로 핵연료 378다발을 운반할 수 있는 수송용기의 차폐체 두께변화에 따른 선량율 영향을 비교하였다. 계산은 ANISN과 DOT4.2 코드를 사용하였으며, 해석결과 최적의 차폐구조를 선정하였으며, 또한 IAEA 및 국내원자력법의 수송법규에 명시된 정상수송 및 가상사고조건에 따른 차폐해석을 수행하여 CANDU 수송용기의 안전성을 입증하였다. A shielding analysis of the shipping cask for transporting the CANDU spent fuel bundles has been studied. Radiation source term has been calculated on spent fuel with burnup of 7,800 MWD/MTU and 5 years cooling time by ORIGEN2 code. The shielding calculation for the cask capable of transporting 378 bundles of CANDU spent fuel has been made by use of 1-D ANISN and 2-D DOT 4.2 codes. As result of analysis, the optimum shield thickness of cask was obtained. And it is proved that the safety in radiation shielding under normal transport and hypothetical accident conditions is confirmed to satisfy the allowable values specified in IAEA Safety Series No. 6 and the Korean Atomic Law.
