Experimental study on condensation heat transfer characteristics of special heat transfer tubes

In this study, condensation heat transfer characteristics were conducted with special heat transfer tubes of SH-C type. Experiments were carried out the saturated vapor temperature of 334K and the wall subcooling of 1.5-4.5K. The refrigerant was R-113 and the enhanced tubes used in the present study were SH-CDR, SH-CYR and SH-CHR. The experimental results showed that the condensation heat transfer coefficients of SH-C type tubes were about 23-66% higher than those of a low integral-fin tube. It was visualized that the condensed liquid on the outer surface of SH-C type tubes flowed continuously down unlike a low integral-fin tube and a plain tube, due to a 3-D extending fin on the outer surface of SH-C type tubes. As a result, the thermal resistance of the condensed liquid decreased and the heat transfer coefficient increased. Also, the enhancement ratio of SH-CDR tube was the highest, and it was about 9-11 times as compared to that of a plain tube.

This research aims to find granulation and organic removal of the piggery wastewater with the upflow blanket filter (UBF) reactor. UASB process had the effect of high pH on the granulation phase. But teh effect was decreased after the granule formtion. The filter zone of the UBF reactor had the function of GSS and contributed to removing the organic because of its biofilm formtion. The removal rates of total COD and soluble COD were 70% ~ 80% and 60 ~80% at an influent organic loading range of 2 ~ 17.4 kgCOD/m?.d, respectively. The methane production rate with the organic removal was 0.21 ~ 0.34 ℓCH?/gCOD ? and the maximum methan production rate was 0.34 CH?ℓ/gCOD ? at the volumetric loading 5 kgCOD/m?.d.
자두 추출물을 이용한 미용비누 제조 및 여드름 환자에 대한 효과

In this study, authors investigated the bathroom soap development using plum(Prunus salicina Lindl. cv. Soldam) extracts and studied the effects and safety of a plum soap on acne patients. For obtaining antibacterial material from dried plum, the serial extraction using organic solvent was carried out and gained of 0.2% hexane, 0.2% chloroform, 0.23% ethyl acetate, 9.8% butanol and 2.1% water extracts. The main bioactive contents of the soap were consisted of 0.006% plum extract, 0.1% glycyrrhiza extract, and 0.15% tocopheryl acetate. A clinical study of soap containg 0.006% plum extracts was carried out on three groups of people: a treatment and 2 control groups on acne patients. Efficacy and safety were assessed at baseline and at one month later. The group applving the soạp with plum extract felt better than the one applying the 2 control group. Some patients developed mild and transient local side effects. The plum soap didn't change at 40℃ and was 130 hardness. In conclusion, cleansing three times a day with a facial soap consisting 0.006% ethyl acetate extract of plum was found to be effective and safe for patients suffering from acne vulgaris
EXPERIMENTS ON THE INTERACTION OF WATER SPRAYS WITH POOL FIRES

A series of measurements and visualization to investigate the interaction of water sprays with pool fires is presented. Fire source is a small-scale pool burner with methanol, ethanol and gasoline. Measurements of temperatures, <TEX>$O_2$</TEX>, <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX>, and CO concentrations along the plume centerline are carried out to observe pool fire structures without water sprays. Visualization by the Ar-ion laser sheet shows flow pattern of droplets of the sprays above the pool fires. It is observed that in the case of methanol and ethanol, water sprays continuously penetrate into the center of fuel surfaces. The gasoline pool fire allows intermittent penetration of water sprays because of pulsating characteristics of the gasoline flame. To evaluate the cooling effect of the fuel surface by the sprays, the temperature was measured at the fuel surface. As soon as the mists reach the fuel surface of methanol and ethanol, the temperatures of the fuel surface decrease rapidly below the boiling point, and then the fires are extinguished. Due to the application of mist upon the gasoline fire, though the fuel temperature decrease abruptly at the time of the injection, such a rapid decrease do not continue till the extinction point.

Three major factors influencing students' general well-being of school life were investigated: environmental, health, and welfare. A Survey was conveyed among all attending students of Soonchunhyang University by a structured questionnaire method to which was follwed by a complementary survey to explore and identify the housing situation of school area residents by the trained interviewers. Respondents tended to show relatively low degree of satisfaction regarding almost items regarding environmental and welfare conditions adressed. Residence types were significantly related to three factors. Research results suggest that more programs to meet the students' needs of environmental, health, and welfare services and facilities be provided.
Ethyl Cellulose를 이용한 요소비료의 방출에 관한 연구

Release study of urea fertilizer was performed using ethyl cellulose and rosin gum. Various effect on release kinetic was examind such as concentration of ethyl cellulose, types of emulsifier, and ethyl cellulose : rosin. Sustained release effect was optimal when 15%(w/v) ethyl cellulose, span 85, ethyl cellulose : rosin gum = 5 : 2 were used.
