      • AH-66 Hepatoma 세포의 Histone에 관한 연구

        In attempt to investigate histone fractions of tumor cells, histone fractions HI, H2a, H2b, H3 and H4 were prepared from isolated nuclei of AH-66 hepatoma cells and histone fractions were characterized by amino acid analysis and by polyacrylamide disc gel electrophoresis. The results obtained were as follows; 1, The five histone fractions found in most tissues were also present in the AH-66 hepatoma cell histories. 2. The yield of whole histone was 6.46mg per g of packed cells. 3. The yield of DNA was 14.78mg per g packed cells. Consequently the DNA to histone ratio was 1:0.44. 4. The relative amounts of five fractions, i.e., H1, H2a, H2b, H3 and H4 were 15.64% 34.83%, 21,21%, 11.76% and 16.56%, respectively. The data presented in this report show that there is a considerable variation in the relative amounts of histone fractions as compared to those of calf thymus. 5. The electrophoretic mobility of individual histone fractions gave almost similar patterns to those of corresponding fractions of calf thymus. 6. Amino acid analysis of the individual histone fractions showed that the over-all compositions were similar but not identical to those of corresponding fractions from calf thymus and other tumor cells. 7. Histone fractions HI, H2b. H3 and H4 were found to contain detectable amounts of ε-N-monomethyllysine. Usually the methylated derivatives of histidine have been reported in histone Hi fraction of Sarcoma 180 ascites tumor cells and Walker 256 carcinosarcoma. However, the methylated histidine residue was not found in all histone fractions from AH-66 hepatoma cells. 8. The evidence was presented that AH-66 hepatoma cells contained five major histone fractions which were homologous to corresponding five fractions of calf thymus.

        그란닥신 정(토피소팜 50mg)에 대한 토핌 정의 생물학적 동등성

        Tofisopam is a new type of tranquilizer valuable for the relief of anxiety and tension in a wide range of emotional disorders. Tofisopam has the therapeutic characteristics of a minor tranquilzer and a mild stimulatory effect. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two tofisopam tablets, Grandaxin^TM (Hwan In Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) and Tofim^TM (Kyung Dong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Eighteen normal male volunteers, 23.11±2.83 years in age and 65.43±7.64 kg in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized 2×2 cross-over study was employed. After one tablet containing 50 mg of tofisopam was orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of tofisopam in serum were determined using HPLC method with UV detector. The pharmacokinetic parameters such as AUC_t C_max and T_max were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters. The results showed that the differences in AUC_t C_max and T_max between two tablets based on the Grandaxin^TM were -5.59%, 2.22% and -13.18%, respectively. Minimum detectable differences (Δ) at α=0.10 and 1-β=0.8 were less than 20% (e.g., 14.95% and 19.34% for AUC_t and C_max respectively). The powers (1-β) at α=0.10, Δ=0.2 for AUC_t and C_max were 95.21% and 81.93%, respectively. The 90% confidence intervals were within ±20% (e.g., -15.64∼4.45 and -10.77∼15.21 for AUC_t and C_max respectively). Two parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that Tofim^TM tablet is bioequivalent to Grandaxin^TM tablet.

      • 韓國畜産業發展을 위한 協同組織의 役割 再定立

        The livestock farmers' cooperatives in Korea have been underway a gradual transformation from the state corporatism-oriented to that of societal corporatism since 1988 when the democratization movement was set in motion in the country. Nevertheless, there is a need for more decisive actions for strategical reorganization to improve the managerial efficacry of the existing two types of livestock cooperatives : geologically oriented local cooperatives and livestock breed-oriented specialized cooperatives at the primary levels, The former was usually organized in 'Gun' or county district, while the latter was established in a provincial district. Of course, it would be justifiable to organize a local cooperative in each of about 140 countries in the early stage of development of livestock industry. At present, however, when the livestock industry has been specialized and commercialized, the old type of local coops has become no longer economically visible and thus got into conflict with growth of specialized coops which are increasingly demanded by the commercialized livestock farmers. Since 1985 when all types of rural coops were authorized to operate credit and banking business, many rural coops including livestock cooperatives have tended to place an emphasis on the banking business because of its profit potentials. In 1989, eight daily cooperatives were born on the basis of sub-provincial district, in addition to four other types of specialized coops including those for hog and poultry farmers. A new policy is called for reorganizing the local coops based on economic regions and changing needs of the member livestock producers. For example, the district of local livestock coops in urbanized areas is recommended to expand by merging with the neighboring local coops in response to a drastic decline in livestock industry in the city areas due to strict control over the environmental pollution generated from the animal husbandry. Specialized coops for beef cattle, hog, broiler, eggs and dairy farmers should be promoted to improve their industrial efficiency and economic viability. A measure is requested to upgrade the managerial efficiency and maintain the political neutrality of the coops' business operation by legal and institutional revisions regarding livestock cooperatives. One idea is to delegate more authority in decision making from the elected presidents to general managers. This arrangement would help development of professionalism in the business management of cooperatives.

      • Fe-(4~8wt%)Si 압분체의 소결성에 관한 연구

        本 硏究는 高逵素鋼材料인 Fe-Si混合壓粉體의 燒結現象에 관한 基礎硏究로서, 純 鐵粉에 융점이 낮은 Fe-Si合金粉을 혼합한 경우와 純Si粉을 혼합한 경우의 燒結擧動을 조사하고, 燒結方法에 의한 磁氣的 機械的 性質의 변화 양상을 定性的으로 고찰하였다. 硏究方法은 純 鐵粉에 Fe-Si合金粉 및 純 Si粉을 高硅素鋼의 組成範圍인 4%Si에서 8%Si까지의 여러 조성으로 혼합하여 6ton/㎠ 의 압력으로 成形한 후, 수소 분위기 중에서 燒結溫度(1100 ℃-1350℃)와 燒結時間(5分-240分)을 변화시켜 燒結을 행하였으며, 각각의 燒結擧動은 燒結體의 氣孔度, densification para meter, 微細組織을 토대로 검토하였다. 本 硏究結果에 의하면 Fe-Si合金粉을 液相으로 발생시킨 경우가 純粹 固相에 의한 것 보다 燒結이 다소 促進되었으나, 모두 短時間內(30分 이내)에만 效果가 있었다. 그 이유는 液相量이 너무 적고 또, 短時間內에 소멸되어 液相燒結現象의 지속이 오래가지 않았다는 것과, 급격한 結晶粒의 성장 등으로 燒結이 크게 促進되지 못하였다고 分析되며, Fe-Si合金粉의 混合壓粉體를 固相燒結할 경우 1시간 이상 長時間에서 Kirkendall效果에 의해 氣孔度가 다시 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 전체적으로 燒結이 沮害됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 燒結에 따른 緻密化는 1200℃ 이하 固相燒結에서 純 Si粉의 混合壓粉體 보다 Fe-Si合金粉의 混合壓粉體가 양호한 것으로 나타난 반면, 1250℃ 이상에서는 純 Si粉의 混合壓粉體가 보다 더 緻密化 되었다. 機械的 性質(硬度)은 Si의 組成이 높을수록 증가되었으며, 磁氣的 性質은 예상과는 달리 Si의 組成이 낮은 경우가 양호한 것으로 나타났다. SINTERING OF Fe-(4∼8wt%) Si POWER COMPACTS. The sintering behaviour and the varation of related properties for Fe-Si powder compacts containing various composition of Si from 4%, to 8% have been investigated with mixture of pure iron and pure silicon powders,and mixture of pure iron and Fe-75% Si alloy powders The results obtained in these experiments can be summarized as follows. (1) The enhanced densification for the compacts sintered at high temperatures above 1250℃, where liquid phase of Fe-Si alloy powder begins to occur, was not so high as what could be expected from the conventional liquid phase sintering concepts. The reasons for this can be attributed to the little amount of the liquid phase and its rapid disappearance in compacts during sintering, and the fast grain growth due to the high sintering temperatures. (2) Under the sintering condition of solid state only, the compacts of Fe-Si alloy powder mixtures showed that the densification rate decreased slowly due to the Kirkendall effect for long sintering time over 1 hour. (3) Sintering of the compacts prepared from pure iorn and Fe-Si alloy powder mixture showed an improved densification as compared to that of pure iron/pure Si power mixed compacts under the temperature of 1200℃, but above 1250℃ an opposite result was observed. (4) Magnetic susceptibility of the sintered compacts containing lower Si contents(4.5%) was higher than those of higher Si compacts. This fact is not consistent with the expectation, but it may be attributed to the observed high values of porosity for 6.5% and 7.5% Si compacts in these experiements. Hardness values, however, increased with Si content.

        한국의 골프장 건설과 환경문제

        Recently, construction of golf courses began to boom, and the issue of environmental destruction has become one of the gravest problems facing our society. The purpose of this thesis is to diagnose the environmental problems related to the construction of golf courses from the above-mentioned social point of view, and to explore ways to resolve resultant issues. A summary on this theme is as follows : 1) Strong legal regulatory measures are required to control the construction of golf courses, including strictly executed evaluation into environmental effects. In particular, it is required that the possibility of environmental disaster following the construction of golf courses be minimized, by thorough analysis of local topography, soil, weather conditions, and the way of life of local inhabitants, before issuing permits for the construction of golf courses. 2) Administrative supervision must be thoroughly carried out throughout the entire course of construction of golf courses. There may be a lack of sufficient regulations to adequately resolve environmental issues, but even greater environmental disasters are caused by nonobservance of even the existing regulations during the construction of golf course. 3) Thorough post-management is required after completion of construction of golf courses. In particular, thorough supervision must be carried out to absolutely prevent excessive use of agricultural chemicals, ensure adequate sewage (human waste) treatment and block the illegal discharge of raw sewage. 4) Contractors building golf courses must observe specified regulations strictly. There may be a lack of sufficient or effective regulations, but environmental disasters can be greatly reduced when those regulations which do exist are strictly adhered to by the contractors. This approach can form a basis for fundamental resolution of the detrimental issues related to golf courses, as it will raise the trust of local inhabitants. 5) Practically speaking, the dimension of golf courses must be reduced to suit to the condition peculiar to Korea. This may be prone to a difficult problem, as it is related to businesses seeking profits, looking at the matter from a purely business point of view, but it is most critical that the size of golf courses be reduced, looking at the matter from the aspect of potential environmental disasters. 6) Inhabitants' way of thinking inherent local opposition towards construction of golf courses is also one of the many attendant problems awaiting solution. Practically speaking, when construction of a golf course starts in or near a village, it is usually greeted with hostile demonstrations by the inhabitants and, finally, this opposition is settled by individual settlements with the villagers, in many cases. In some cases, interest is really focussed on the issue of compensation itself. Villagers should not oppose legal construction of golf courses, or receive compensation for it, but villagers should discuss, sitting face to face, what is really required on behalf of the community on a long-term basis (from the point of view of raising living standards and preventing environmental disasters). 7) It is necessary to study the issue of environmental disaster related to construction of golf courses more scientifically and positively. It is a fact that environmental disaster questions have been resolved, in the past, based purely on criticism of the potential results, without the application of concrete and positive research data. I believe that it is necessary to establish a tentatively named "Disaster Research Institute" to train public officials in charge of disaster prevention and control, and engaged in overall research into environmental disasters including issues related to golf courses, to become expert in the field, to adequately address the above-mentioned issues.

      • 고량강의 항염증 작용에 대한 연구

        Objective : The use of herbal therapy is becoming an increasingly attractive approach for the treatment of various inflammatory disorders. The Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma is popular in Aisa as a traditional herbal medicine. Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma is a species of the ginger family(Zingiberacease). Method : This study was performed to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma extract by the methods of "carrageenan induced paw edema" and "Lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory mediators in mouse macrophage RAW 264.7 cells". Result : We suggest that Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma extract decreased paw volume induced by plantar injection of carrageenan. Also Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma extract inhibited nitric oxide, prostaglandin E₂production and induced nitric oxide synthase, cyclooxygenase-2 protein expression in Mouse macrophage RAW 264.7 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide. Conclusion : This study shows that Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma extract seems to have anti-inflammatory effect by inhibition of nitric oxide, prostaglandin E_(2) production and nitric oxide synthase, cyclooxygenase-2 protein expression.
