도재원,배학근,이경석,윤일규,변박장,배원경 대한신경외과학회 1993 Journal of Korean neurosurgical society Vol.22 No.10
We report a rare case of scalp AVM concurrent feeding from external carotid artery and internal carotid artery, namely, superficial temporal artery and ophthalmic artery. This 20-year old woman was seen because of serpiginous pulsatile mass in the frontal scalp, and the mass was enlarged during pregnancy. The case that feeding from the internal carotid artery branch is very rare. Angiography, MRI and MR angiography findings are presented.

도재원,윤이규,배학근,목진호,이경석,윤일규,변박장 대한신경외과학회 1994 Journal of Korean neurosurgical society Vol.23 No.11
We report two cases of reruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm during cerebral angiography in one aged 80years and the other aged 59years. Both patients had emergency angiography on Day 0, within 5 hours of the latest rupture. The prognosis was very poor. We stressed the importance of the time interval between the latest rupture and angiography.

This is a report of two cases of thoracic spine fracture-dislocation without consequential neurological deficit in each case, the disruption between vertebral body and the posterior column renders spontaneous decompression of the spinal canal as a result of anatomical peculiarity of the thoracic spine such anatomical peculiarity explains the preservation of neurologic function. Diagnosis and management should be carried out with great care in such cases. The two patients underwent posterior approach with instrumentation and eventually recovered without any evidence of neurologic sequelae.

The authors pmmt a case of non-mymtic aneuIysm arising h m the m a r g ~ ~ I branch of the left superior cetebellar artery(SCA) in a 65-year-dd female. Cerebral angiography disclosed a saccular aneurysm(3X3mm) at the origin of marginal branch of the left SCA. Tbe aneurysm was sucuddy clipped through the infratentorialapracerebellar approach. Since the aneurysm from the marginal branch of the SCA is rare, we report here brieily.

The interest in perovskite solar cells has been skyrocketed owing to their rapid progress in efficiency in recent years. Here, we report the effect of non-stoichiometry in the methylammonium lead trihalide (MAPbI₃) precursors used in a solution process with different MAI : PbI₂ ratios of 1 : 0.96, 1 : 1.10, 1 : 1.15, and 1:1.20. With an increase in the PbI₂ content, the PbI₂ secondary phase was found to form at grain boundary region of perovskite thin films, as evidenced by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In terms of device performance, open-circuit voltage in particular is significantly improved with increasing the molar ratio of PbI₂, which is possibly ascribed to the reduction in recombination sites at grain boundary of perovskite and hence the prolonged life time of light-generated carriers according to the reported. As a result, the PbI₂-excess devices exhibited a higher power conversion efficiency compared to the MAI-excess ones.

To investigate the causes of death in patients with spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage. 460 consecutive patients with a subarachnoid hemorrhage were reviewed. Angiography was not performed in 78 patients due to poor clinical conditions or discharge against admission. Of all these patients, 54(69.2%) died. 28 from serious clinical condition, 21 from rebleeding, 3 from pulmonary complications. 1 from vasospasm. and 1 with unknown causes. Thirty-eight patients were angiographically negative. of which 6(15.8%) died. 3 due to rebleeding. 2 due to poor clinical condition, and 1 due to cerebral infarction caused by vasospasm. Of the 344 patients who had an aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, 74 were discharged against admission or died before the surgery. The remaining 270 patients underwent aneurysm clipping. Early surgery(within 72 hours after subarachnoid hemorrhage)was performed in 151 patients. intermediate surgery(between Day 4 and 7 post-SAH) in 74, and late surgery(Day 8 or later after SAH) in 45. Fifty-one patients(18.9%) died after aneurysm clipping. The causes were vasospasm in 17, complications related to surgery in 13, poor clinical condition in 12, preoperative rebleeding in 7, and other systemic condition in 2. A total of 59 patients suffered at least one rebleeding after the initial hemorrhage ; these patients had a mortality rate of 76.3% and the highest rate of rebleeding occurred within the first 24 hours after initial hemorrhage. Vasospasm and rebleeding were the leading causes of mortality in addition to the initial bleeding. Predictors for mortality included poor clinical grade. early surgery in patients aged 60 years or more. and association with intracerebral hematoma, intraventricular hemorrhage, or subdural hematoma.
A static multi‐slit collimator system for scatter reduction in cone‐beam CT
Chang, Jina,Kim, Siyong,Jang, Doh‐,Yun,Suh, Tae‐,Suk John Wiley and Sons Inc. 2010 Journal of applied clinical medical physics Vol.11 No.4

A multiple‐slit collimator (MSC) design was introduced for scatter reduction in cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT). Unlike most other collimators, the open and closed septa of the proposed MSC are placed in an equi‐angular interval on a circular track of the central sagittal plane. Therefore, one gantry rotation provides only the half of necessary dataset and two gantry rotations are needed to obtain full information. During the first gantry rotation, the MSC position relative to the source is fixed. For the second rotation, the MSC is rotated by the equi‐angle interval. We assume signals under the closed septa are totally attributed to scatter radiation. Then, scatter contributions under open septa are determined by interpolating them.

Monte Carlo (MC) simulations for two virtual phantoms (one with a simple geometry and the other with two heterogeneities simulating the bone and the lung) were performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the system. Using the method developed, we could obtain images with significant scatter reduction. Contrast ratio (CR) improvement factors were 1.165 in a 2D projection view, and 1.210 and 1.223 at the central and peripheral slice of the reconstructed CBCT image of the simple geometry phantom.

This preliminary study demonstrated that the proposed MSC, together with the imaging process technique, had a great potential to reduce scatter contribution in CBCT. Further studies will be performed to investigate the effect of various factors, such as reducing the detector size, increasing the number of history of MC simulation, and including many structures with different densities.

PACS number: 87.57.C

The advantages of a laser-driven proton acceleration have prompted studies of laser-induced protonradiography. As the CR-39 solid-state nuclear-track detector is suitable for measuring chargedparticles and can be used in proton radiography, we studied laser-induced proton radiography withthe CR-39 for several years, and we were able to obtain a spatial resolution of about 10 μm. For obtaining an image with a spatial resolution of a few μm, we investigated the effect of theCR-39 etching conditions on the spatial resolution and carried out imaging experiments using finephantoms. Experiments were performed using the 100-TW titanium-sapphire laser system at theAdvanced Photonics Research Institute of the Gwangju Institute of Science Technology. We havedemonstrated that images with a spatial resolution of about several μm can be achieved usinglaser-induced proton radiography.
