      • Vascular Protective Role of Samul-Tang in HUVECs: Involvement of Nrf2/HO-1 and NO

        <P>Samul-Tang (Si-Wu-Tang, SMT), composed of four medicinal herbs, is a well-known herbal formula treating hematological disorder or gynecologic disease. However, vascular protective effects of SMT and its molecular mechanisms on the vascular endothelium, known as the central spot of vascular inflammatory process, are not reported. The aim of this study was to investigate vascular protective effects of SMT water extract in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Water extract of SMT was prepared and identified by HPLC-PDA analysis. Expression of cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and translocation of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-<I>κ</I>B) and nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) were determined by western blot. Nuclear localization of NF-<I>κ</I>B and Nrf2 was visualized by immunofluorescence and DNA binding activity of NF-<I>κ</I>B was measured. ROS production, HL-60 monocyte adhesion, and intracellular nitric oxide (NO) were also measured using a fluorescent indicator. SMT suppressed NF-<I>κ</I>B translocation and activation as well as expression of CAMs, monocyte adhesion, and ROS production induced by TNF-<I>α</I> in HUVECs. SMT treated HUVECs showed upregulation of HO-1 and NO which are responsible for vascular protective action. Our study suggests that SMT, a traditionally used herbal formula, protects the vascular endothelium from inflammation and might be used as a promising vascular protective drug.</P>

        프레탈^(R)정(실로스타졸 50mg)에 대한 실로졸^(R)정의 생물학적 동등성

        Bioequivalence of two cilostazol tablets, the Pletaal^(R)(Korea Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) and the Cilozol^(R)(Hanmi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), was evaluated according to the guideline of KFDA, Sixteen normal male volunteers(age 20~29 years old) were divided into two groups and a randomized 22 cross-over study was employed. After two tablets containing 50㎎ of cilostazol were orally administered. blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentration of cilostazol in plasma was determined with an HPLC method using UV detector. The pharmacokinetic parameters(C_(max), T_(max) and AUC_(t)) were calculated and ANOVA was utilized for the statistical analysis of parameters. The results showed that the differences in C_(max), T_(max) and AUC_(t) between two tablets were 4.99%, 1.74% and 7.68%, respectively. The powers(1-β) for C_(max), T_(max) and AUC_(t) were83.92%, 80.12% and 85.03%, respectively. Detectable differences(Δ) and confidence intervals were all less than 20%, and confidence interval of all the parameters were also less than 20% at the significance level(α) of 0.05. All of these parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that Cilozol^(R) tablet is bioequivalent to Pletaal^(R) tablet.

        The effect of sintering conditions(temperature and time) on the frictional properties of sintered bronze-base were investigated. It was observed that with increasing sintering temperature up to 840℃ and sintering time up to 60 min. the hardness, bending strength and coefficient of friction increased continuously, but the wear rate decreased. At sintering temperature of 860℃, however, their mechanical and frictional properties decreased rapidly due to the sweating phenomenon of tin. In our experiments, the optimal sintering condition is that sintering temperature is about 840℃ and sintering time is about 60 min.. Its average grain size is about 14.2㎛.

      • 最小子乘스펙트럼分析에 依한 東支那海의 海面變化硏究

        國際平均海面資料管理機構로부터 1982年 12月까지의 世界各國港灣의 月平均海面資料가 磁氣테이프의 形態로 利用可能케 되었다. 이 刮目할만한 最近까지의 海面의 月平均資料로서 氣象 및 海洋資料를 倂用하면 汎世界的 또는 局地的인 海面의 季節的, 經年的인 變化에 對한 傳統的인 硏究가 可能하다. 初期段階의 硏究로 上記 dataset으로부터 中共의 Amoy港 및 우리나라 沿岸의 主要港의 月平均海面을 抽出하여 Vanicek이 提示한 最小子乘스펙트럼分析을 遂行하였다. 初期硏究結果가 提示되었으며 追後의 硏究事項이 討議되었다. 本 硏究는 交通部 水路局의 海面變化調査事業 및 建設部 國立地理院의 一等水準網調整事業의 初期作業으로 遂行되었는데 우리나라 沿岸의 地殼의 變動을 調査하는 地球動力學的 硏究를 爲한 初步作業이기도 하다. Monthly mean values of sea level at a mumber of sites around the world were available from global bank of the mean sea level data of the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL), with the latest values being for December, 1982. This latest noteworthy compilation of mean monthly height of sea level makes it possible to view the seasonal and annual oscillation of sea level on a global or regional scale with the aid of meteorological and oceanographic data. As a fundamental step monthly mean values of sea level at Xiamen (Amoy) in China and several ports in Korea were extracted and spectral analysis technique by Least Square (Vanicek, 1971) were performed. Some of initial results are present and discussions for further developments are also described. This study has been undertaken in association with the programme of sea level research at Korea Hydrographic Office and the programme of adjustment of first order levelling network at National Geographic Institute.

        Ca 첨가한 AZ91 마그네슘 합금 용탕의 산화거동

        The effects of Ca addition on the liquid oxidation behaviors of AZ91 alloys have been investigated. The oxide layers formed on the molten Ca-containing AZ91 alloys were investigated by using scanning electron microscope and Auger electron spectroscopy in order to elucidate the effect of Ca additions on the ignition and burning of the molten alloys. The thermogravimetric measurements indicated that Ca-containing AZ91 alloys have good oxidation resistance. AES depth analysis revealed that the oxide layers on the molten Ca-containing AZ91 alloys consisted of several layers; the outer layer mainly consisted of CaO and the inner layer was mainly a mixture of CaO-MgO and Al₂O₃. The formation of protective CaO in the oxide layer was directly responsible for improved oxidation resistance of the Ca-containing AZ91 alloys.

        In this paper, We have studied on the critical vibration limits of spindle unit for the high speed ball pen tip processing machine. The vibration of bearing can be measured by FFT, and the influence of vibration amplitude due to the Unbalance, bearing deflect, bite and timing belts tension are analyzed. So, the critical vibration limits of spindle is determined by the X, Z directional vibration of spindle Unit.

      • 殘留應力을 考慮한 鎔接材의 疲勞龜裂 進展擧動에 關한 硏究

        The effect of welding residual stress on the initiation and propagation of fatigue crack is investigated so as to study the fatigue behavior in welding residual stress field. Especially, the relation between welding residual stress and fatigue crack opening behavior is investigated and the redistribution of residual stress as a fatigue crack propagates is examined. Following results are obtained. 1) In case of the load range is constant, as the stress ratio is changing to 0.1, 0.33, 0.5 the propagation life is constant but the growth life decreases. And than, when maximum load or minimum load is constant, as the stress ratio increases the growth life and propagation life increase. 2) The fatigue crack propagations rate da/dN appears to accelerate when the stress intensity factor range ΔK is less than 15MPa-m^1/2. 3) The residual stress that is appeared by welding decreases after cutting. 4) Fatigue crack propagation ratio is affected by tensional and compressible residual stress at the initial time, but it's similar to the original in the more than 20mm of crack length.

      • 光陽灣의 二次元 潮汐 數値模型

        A two-dimensional hydrodynamics-numerical model was established to investigate the hydraulic process in the vicinity of large steel mill cnstructed on the reclaimed platform at the estuary of Sumjin River, Kwang Yang Bay. The developed model was first used to simulate M_2 tide in the estuary. The computed results were presented in the form of tidal ellipses, maximum bottom stress and energy dissipation and discussions were also made for furture development of the model.
