        Expression of Heat Shock Protein 60 kDa Is Upregulated in Cervical Cancer

        Purpose: Cervical cancer caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) continues to be the cause of yearly death among women. However, it is a curable disease when diagnosed at an early stage. Recently, several researches have reported that heat shock protein (HSP) 60, a chaperone protein of molecular weight of 60 kDa, is involved in carcinogenesis and apoptosis. In order to evaluate the prognostic significance of HSP60 in cervical cancer, we examined differences in the HSP60 expression between cervical cancer and normal tissues in women. Materials and Methods: Tissue samples were collected from 20 cervical cancer patients and 20 normal controls. HSP60 expression of cervical cancer and normal tissues were verified by the 2D gel proteomics, semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot analyses. Results: In 2D proteomic analysis, an increase of HSP60 expression was detected in cervical cancer tissues and confirmed by Western blot analysis (p < 0.05). However, messenger RNA (mRNA) levels of HSP60 did not display any significant differences between cervical cancer and normal tissues. Conclusion: These results suggest that HSP60 may be involved in the development of cervical cancer and have profound biological and prognostic significance.

      • ZSM-5를 이용한 셀룰로오스-PE 촉매혼합열분해의 방향족 탄화수소 생산 증진

        탄소중립적인 에너지원인 바이오매스를 통해 얻은 바이오에너지는 이용과정에서 발생하는 부산물들이 대기 중의 이산화탄소 농도 증가에 영향을 미치지 않기 때문에 차세대 에너지원으로 주목받고 있다. 그러나 바이오매스는 자체 구성성분의 수소함량이 낮고, 산소함량이 높아 방향족 탄화수소의 수율이 낮으며 코크 형성으로 촉매의 비활성화를 촉진시킨다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 요즘 처리 문제로 화제가 되고, 플라스틱을 바이오매스와 함께 투입하여 부족한 수소를 보충하여 방향족 탄화수소의 수율을 높이고자 하였다. 바이오매스는 셀룰로오스, 플라스틱은 폴리에틸렌(PE)을 선정하였으며, 촉매로는 ZSM-5를 이용하여 촉매 혼합열분해를 수행하였다. <sup>**</sup> 이 성과는 2018년도 정부(과학기술통신부)의 재원으로 한국연구재단의 지원을 받아 수행된 연구임(No. 2018R1A2B2001121).

        Laser powder bed fusion 공정으로 제조된 오스테나이트계 316L 스테인레스 강의 고온 산화 거동

        In this study, the high-temperature oxidation properties of austenitic 316L stainless steel manufactured by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) is investigated and compared with conventional 316L manufactured by hot rolling (HR). The initial microstructure of LPBF-SS316L exhibits a molten pool ~100 ㎛ in size and grains grown along the building direction. Isotropic grains (~35 ㎛) are detected in the HR-SS316L. In high-temperature oxidation tests performed at 700℃ and 900℃, LPBF-SS316L demonstrates slightly superior high-temperature oxidation resistance compared to HR-SS316L. After the initial oxidation at 700℃, shown as an increase in weight, almost no further oxidation is observed for both materials. At 900℃, the oxidation weight displays a parabolic trend and both materials exhibit similar behavior. However, at 1100℃, LPBF-SS316L oxidizes in a parabolic manner, but HR-SS316L shows a breakaway oxidation behavior. The oxide layers of LPBF-SS316L and HR-SS316L are mainly composed of Cr<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, Fe-based oxides, and spinel phases. In LPBF-SS316L, a uniform Cr depletion region is observed, whereas a Cr depletion region appears at the grain boundary in HR-SS316L. It is evident from the results that the microstructure and the high-temperature oxidation characteristics and behavior are related.

        봉약침을 이용한 류마토이드 관절염의 임상적 연구

        Objective : To evaluate the effect of treatment for Rheumatoid arthritis by using Bee-venom Acupuncture that is well known for anti-inflammatory effect and function of activating immune system. Methods : Evaluated the result of Bee-venom Acupuncture treatment twice in a week for patients who diagnosised as rheumatoid arthritis by 7 criteria of US Rheumatism Academy. Results : 1. If you see the distribution chart, sexual rate of male and female was 1:2.75 and age distribution shows as age ascend it shows high. 2. If you see the duration distribution, it shows chronic tendency in order of more than 6 months (59.5%), 2 to 5 months, and 1 month. 3. If you see the invaded region distribution, it shows chronic tendency in order of finger(17 cases), wrist joint(16 cases), knee joint(16 cases), ankle joint(10 cases), elbow joint(8 cases), shoulder joint(7 cases), feet(7 cases), hip joint(5 cases), low back(3 cases) and neck(2 cases). 4. If you see the result of duration distribution treatment, the improvement index is rising in order of within a month, 2 to 5 months, and over 6 months. So it shows that it has good result of treatment within a month. 5. If you see the invaded region, it shows high improvement index in order of low back, hop joint, shoulder joint, wrist joint, feet, knee joint, finger, elbow joint, ankle joint and neck. 6. If you see the result of morning stiffness time before treatment, it shows good effect of treatment in order of 2-3hrs, 30min.-an hr, an hr to 2hrs, and 0-30min. 7. If you see the patients satisfaction after Bee-venom Acupuncture treatment, Excellent is 6 cases, Good is 7 cases, and Moderate 2 cases. Conclusions : It will have greater treatment effect if herbal medicine, moxibustion, and acupuncture are used together as patients whole body condition and symptoms with Bee-venom Acupuncture for rheumatoid arthritis that is chronic inflammatory disease.

        Investigation on characteristics of thermal conductivity enhancement of nanofluids

        It has been shown that a nanouid consisting of nanoparticles dispersed in base uid has much higher eective thermal conduc-tivity than pure uid. In this study, four kinds of nanouids such as multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) in water, CuO inwater, SiO2 in water, and CuO in ethylene glycol, are produced. Their thermal conductivities are measured by a transient hot-wire0.01. The measured thermal conductivities of MWCNT nanouids are higher than those calculated with HamiltonCrosser modeldue to neglecting solidliquid interaction at the interface. The results show that the thermal conductivity enhancement of nanouidsdepends on the thermal conductivities of both particles and the base uid.

      • 한국산 인삼, 장뇌삼 및 중국산 장뇌삼의 항산화 활성에 관한 연구

        한국산 인삼, 장뇌삼 및 중국산 장뇌삼의 각 추출 용매에 따른 항산화 활성을 측정하였다. 추출 용매에 따른 전자 공여 능력은 모든 시료에서 농도 의존적인 결과를 나타냈으며, 그 중 한국산 장뇌삼의 hexane 추출물 600μg/mL 에서 71.4%로 가장 높은 전자 공여능을 보였다. Superoxide anion radical 소거 능력에 대해서는 H<sub>2</sub>O , hexane, butanol, chloroform 및 total 추출물 순으로 높은 활성을 보였고, 시료별로는 한국산 장뇌삼이 가장 활성이 높았고, 그 다음으로 중국산 장뇌삼, 한국산 인삼의 순으로 나타났다.

        고선량의 감마선과 전자선이 조사된 cotton linter 종이의 물리적 특성 변화 비교

        The effects of gamma ray and electron beam irradiation on paper disinfection were eval- uated. The paper was irradiated with 10-100 kGy gamma rays and electron beams which were higher than the recommended dose for paper disinfection. After irradiation, the mechanical properties and color of the paper and the cellulose chain scission rate were evaluated. In the case of paper strength, it decreased after 25 kGy irradiation, whereas the discoloration of paper appeared after 10 kGy irradiation. It cannot confirm the effect on paper only with changes in mechanical strength and color in the recommended range of 0.5-10 kGy for actual paper disinfection treatment. On the other hand, even with 10 kGy irradiation, the degree of polymerization of cellulose paper was reduced by ~50%. Cotton linter paper with a degree of polymerization of about 2,000 was predicted to decrease by about 7% after being irradiated with a 1 kGy gamma ray and electron beam. To evaluate the irradiation effect on paper, it is therefore more reasonable to evaluate the degree of polymerization rather than the strength and color of the paper. .

        Effect of Dimethylformamide on Post-Thaw Motility, Acrosome Integrity, and DNA Structure of Frozen Boar Sperm

        The beneficial effect of glycerol as a cryoprotectant, especially for sperm cryopreservation, has been shown in many studies. However, glycerol is toxic to living cells, and boar sperm in particular show greater sensitivity to glycerol than sperm from other domestic animals. Amides have been studied as alternative cryoprotectants for freezing stallion sperm. Sperm frozen in methylformamide or dimethylformamide as cryoprotectants show similar motility when thawed compared with sperm frozen in glycerol. We evaluated the cryoprotective effects of dimethylformamide on boar sperm freezing. To test the effect of amides, the concentration of boar semen was adjusted to 109sperm/mL, and seminal plasma was removed using Hulsen solution. After centrifugation, the pellet was diluted in modified-Modena B extender. Lactose-egg yolk (LEY) extender was used as the cooling extender. The freezing extender was madeed aaddition of the optimal amount of glycerol and amides to LEY-Glycerol-Orvus ES Paste extender, and this extender was used for the second dilution. Diluted sperm were frozen in liquid nitrogen using the 0.5 mL straw method. Sperm frozen in extender with glycerol as a cder ol were compared with those frozen in extender including the different amides. Sperm were tested for motility, viability, the sperm chromatin structure assay, and normal apical ridge after thawing. The percent of motile sperm diluted in glycerol was as high as that in the stallion study (61%). Dimethylformamide showed positive effects on sperm quality and was better than glycerol. Methylformamide provided similar sperm quality as glycerol. Therefore, dimethylformamide is useful for reducing cryoinjury in boar sperm and is expected to be useful as an alternative cryoprotectant.
