Oculocutaneous albinism (OCA) is a heterogeneous autosomal recessive disorder with reduction or complete absence of melanin in the skin, hair, eyes and combined with eye disorder, such as nystagmus and strabismus. OCA is including four types, from OCA 1 to OCA 4. OCA 1 is the most frequent, and produced by the loss of function of melanocytic enzyme tyrosinase, resulting from mutations of the tyrosinase (TYR) gene. We report a case of 2-year-old Korean toddler OCA 1A patient with white skin, hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. TYR gene mutation, fully translucent pinkish irises, with skin that does not tan, was also observed. (Korean J Dermatol 2012;50(11):987∼ 990)

In this study, we have synthesized yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) in nanoscale through atomic layer deposition (ALD). Composition of the films has been analyzed by the energy-dispersive spectroscopy and the auger electron spectroscopy. The compositional analysis confirmed that doping concentration of ALD YSZ can be controlled by adjusting zirconium and yttrium source pulsing cycles. The electrochemical ion spectroscopy analysis has been used for measurement of ionic conductivity of the ALD YSZ films.

The research on the rate of oxygen consumption has been carried out in adult Drosophila mwlanogaster. The rates of oxygen consumption was measured 10,15, 20, 25, 30 and 35℃, respectively. The results are summarized as follows In female, the rates of oxygen consumption at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35℃ were 9.41,17.10, 14.83, 44.28, 27.12, and 20.13(?ℓ/g·fw/hr) respectively. In male, the rates of oxygen consumption at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35℃ were 23.08, 17.66, 13.44, 21.28,23.42 and 35.41(?ℓ /g·fw/hr) respectively. In female, the oxygen consumption retes of 10, 15, 20 and 25℃ were increased as the temperature was increased, but the rates at temperature of 30 and 35℃ were decreased. The order of increasing ratewas 25, 30, 20, 35, 15 and 10℃. In male, those of 10, 15 and 20℃ were decreased, but those of 25, 30 and 35℃ were increased. The order of increasing rate was 35,10, 30, 15, 25 and 20℃. In female, the change in oxygen cosumption rate was the order of 25, 30, 35, 15, 20 and 10℃ as the lapse of time. In male, the change of those were the order of 35, 10, 30, 25, 15 and 20℃. The oxygen consumption rate between female and male was seen a significant difference in the low, optimum and high temperatures. At 10, 15 and 35℃, the oxygen consumption rate of male was higher than that of female, and at 20, 25 and 30℃ was higher than that of male. The Q10 of female showed a high value in the lower temperature interval (15~ 25℃),but the male showed a high value in the higher temperature interval (20~ 30℃). At 10 and 15℃, the change in oxygen consumption rate showed cyclic pattern as the lapse of time, and the oxygen consumption rate of female was higher than that of male as temperature increased.
